Really my only beef about ‘We Take a Zebra to Vegas’ was the lack of zebra. Like, that it literally the scene where Percy discovers he can talk to horses! Even a cameo! Otherwise the title dormant even make sense. :(((

"we're here" grover that tree is at least three miles away what do you MEAN
June of Doom Day 5: Disfiguration
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Summary: Grover helps a half blood get into camp. However, now he must escape the monster chasing that had been chasing her.
Warnings: End of the Sea of Monsters spoilers (brief mention) and violence.
Talking walks was one of Grover's favorite past times. Often he would end up down by Talia's pine tree. Even if she wasn't in it, the tree was still comforting.
It was getting close to curfew. Percy had had a long day and wanted to head in for the night. Annabeth was reading. A walk seemed like a good way to relax before bed. Grover hadn't meant to end up at the pine tree; maybe it was the will of the Gods.
The Satyr laid his back against the tree and just as he settled down he heard a panicked voice,"Help me!" The child yelled. Behind them was a hell hound running full speed to try and catch them.
A half blood had found their way to camp on their own. Now they needed help. "Hold on!" Grover yelled. He ran out to them, grabbing them. "We have to get past that tree! Then we will be in camp's border!"
"Okay!" The girl was maybe 15. She had long brown hair and tan skin. Her eyes were hard to see in the mostly dark environment. The girl was slightly shorter then Grover and had darker colored clothing on. Grover could see multiple scratches on her arms and could see where the hell hound had torn her legs up as well.
As the two ran, the moster grabbed Grover by his shoulder. He screamed out in pain as the hound tossed him to the ground. The girl stopped to try and help him, but as the moster grew closer to her, Grover yelled for her to go. "I'll distract it!" He said. "Go!"
The girl ran towards the tree. She stumbled but remained on her feet.
"Hey!" Grover called to the monster. Looking around, he ran to grab a stick that wasn't to far from him. Throwing it, the stick hit the dog and it turned around. "Come get me!"
The hell hound sprinted towards him. Grabbing another stick, Grover held it as he ran away from the monster. As the dog ran past him, he begradually threw it into the hounds eye. The creature howled as it turned to face the man.
As the girl crossed into the barrier of Camp Half-Blood, the hell hound snarled. It barked as it ran, trying to grabbed Grover. As the animal grew closer, he jumped out of its way and started to run towards camp.
The sun had set now. The horn had sounded to signal the end of the day and curfew. The wind blew gently. The weather felt so familiar, like a night seven years ago.
Grover tripped; his hoof had hit a rock. The hell hound loomed over him. It put its jaws around him, threatening to close around his ribs. Kicking the monster, the Satyr got free. As he started to run to where the half blood stood behind the border, the dog rammed into him, laying him flat on his back. Now under the hell hound, Grover yelled out to the new camper, "get help!"
"Okay!" The child ran towards camp.
Still under the hell hound, Grover tried to set himself free. During the struggle the hell hound's back leg landed on his own left leg. As the hound stepped down, Grover screamed. He heard his leg brake.
Percy was just trying to go to bed. Laying on his bed, he finally realized the pain he had been experiencing wasn't just his body being sore from the day; it was his empathy link with Grover. His best friend was in trouble. Standing, he shoved his shoes on.
Tears fell down Grover's face. The pain in his leg was severe. Trying to fight the monster off, he pulled the rock that had tripped him out of the ground. Slamming it into the hound's teeth. It wined and backed up.
Percy flew over the hill with the new camper. He pulled his sword and ran right past the pine tree. "Grover!"
"Percy!" Grover screamed, his voice breaking.
"Hold on!" Percy could tell he didn't have much time. He watched as Grover tried to stand. Immediately the Satyr was in pain. Trying to put pressure on his left leg was useless. The bones had been straightned. At least the Apollo cabin should be able to fix it. Grover fell right back to the ground. His scream sent fear into Percy.
Pulling his body away from the hell hound; that was now over being attacked by a rock, Grover looked between his best friend and the mister trying to end his life. As the dog closed in, Percy reached Grover. He sliced Riptide, his sword, though the hound. It disappeared into nothing.
Sobbing, Grover tried to stand. "No no no, you stay there. I'll carry you back." Gently, Percy picked up his best friend. Every time he placed some pressure on the leg, Grover would wince. As bad as Percy felt, he knew it was a necessity evil.
Reaching the border, Grover asked how the girl was. "She's okay." Percy answered. "Shaken up pretty good but okay."
Grover seemed to settle down a little knowing she was okay.
Inside camp, Percy took Grover to the infirmary and then went to wake up an Apollo kid.
Lee Fletcher, head of the Apollo cabin, walked into the infirmary with Percy. "Dear Gods." He whispered. His face looked grim as he walked over to the bed. Then he assed Grover's injuries and treated what he could.
After assessing his injuries, Lee explained what had happened. "Let's ease into this. You have a few scratches and some puncture wounds from where the hound tried to bite you. I can stitch those up and get them healed pretty quickly."
Walking away from a moment, Lee grabbed a diagram of satyr anatomy and continued to explain Grover's injuries.
"When the hell hound stepped on you, it shattered your Patella, or you knee." He pointed it out on the diagram. "The bottom of your Femur and the top of your Tibula also broke. You're Femur is broken in a few places, which is one of the reasons your leg is laying flat. Your Calcanerl Tuber is also broken as well as a few other bones in your body."
Still looking at the diagram, Lee sighed. "I don't know how you stayed awake. Pain like that tends to knock people out. Braking your Femur is one of the worst bones, to break."
"So, what now?" Percy asked.
"Will I be able to walk again? I need to be able to walk again."
"With your injuries, seeing as your leg will need to be reconstructed; a surgery no one here knows how to perform, I can't say for sure. You'll need extensive physical therapy even after the surgery. Unfortunately, it's unlikely you'll walk for a very long time. All of this is assuming the surgery would be able to fix your leg. I'm really sorry Grover."
"I need to walk." Grover cried. "How could I be a searcher if I can't walk? How can I find Pan? How can I protect my friends? Everything I do-" he broke out into sobs. Percy sat to the right of him and grabbed him into a hug.
"I'm sorry."
Augusnippets Day 12: Lost
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Warning: Major character death
Summary: After being sent on a quest, Annabeth, Percy, and Grover find themselves lost somewhere in New Jersey. There they find the mystery monster they were sent to slay.
Looking for Pan was a Satyr's greatest honor. It was also Grover's second greatest honor; his greatest honor was being Percy Jackson's best friend. So when Percy told him to join him on a quest to uncover some mystery monsters, he ran to his side. After all, what are best friends for?
They left with Annabeth shortly after Grover made his way back to camp. Now they were in nowhere New Jersey trying to figure out where to go next.
"This feels familiar." Percy joked.
"Yeah." Annabeth smiled.
"There's no threat of war this time!" Grover exclaimed.
"Nope, just some mystery monster that we have to find and kill. Easy enough."
"We've been though worse." Annabeth responded to Percy. It was true, they had been though worse. From preventing a war at the age of twelve to holding up the sky, they faced every problem together.
The woods whisperered with mystery. There was a monster waiting for the teens and they knew it was close. As they grew closer to the monsters lair, Grover knew what it was. "It's a cyclops." He informed his friends.
Annabeth looked a little nervous but she was mostly used to being around them again because of Tyson. "Alright."
"We'll be okay." Grover insured her. They were a little less lost now at least.
Then the monster surprised them. It came out from behind a white oak tree and attacked them with a club. "Why is it always a club?!" Percy yelled.
With no other choice, the group split up. Grover took off further into the woods. He felt like if he looked back, something would get him. Slowing down, the satyr stopped figure out where he was.
As he wandered around, Grover tied to find his friends. "Percy! Annabeth! Where are you?!" The stench of the cyclops hadn't left his nose yet. They were loud creatures. Grover knew it was near him. He could swear he heard Percy yell for him.
The cyclops swung a hand down, slamming Grover into some nearby rocks. He heard his bones brake on impact. Still he tried to stand. The satyr was able to pull himself to his feet and take a few steps forwards before collapsing. He tried to call out, but found it almost impossible to breath, let alone speak. It felt like his body was shutting down.
Blood surrounded his body. Grover knew somewhere Percy would be frantically searching for him. The teen wasn't sure how much time had passed. He could hear Percy talking to him in his head. "Don't give up! Hold hold!" But as the sky was starting to fade from view, Grover knew he wouldn't make it.
Percy collapsed to the ground when Grover died. His breathing was off. Annabeth grabbed him and pulled him away from the cyclops that had since found them. "What?" She asked, nervously.
Shaking, Percy tried to stand back up. "He's gone." Tears ran down his face.
After getting Percy to safety, Annabeth took on the cyclops alone. Eventually she was able to slay it.
"We should bring his body back to camp" Percy started. "We can at least do that right?"
Resting a hand on Percy's shoulder, Annabeth reminded him that when satyrs die, they are reborn as plants. There was no body to be found. Now Grover would remain in the woods, forever lost.
Whumptober Day 3: Set up for Failure
Fandom: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Warnings: Multiple character deaths, violence, and strong language.
Summary: What if after The Battle of Manhatten, the Gods decided that the half-bloods were too dangerous to be left alive? Even after winning the war, they could fail to keep their lives.
No one tells what you are supposed to do after you win a war, especially when you have been preparing for it your whole teenage life. Percy stared at the water. The battle had been over for two days now. Everything was settling down.
It was noon by the time anyone realized something was wrong. Dionysus was pacing on the deck of the big house. It wasn't uncommon to see him distressed since Caster died. The god had taken it harder than expected. He seemed to be arguing with someone that was just out of sight.
Annabeth walked down to the beach to meet Percy. They sat together and watched the waves get higher and higher. "Is that normal?"
"Not really." Percy said uneasy. "Maybe Dad's upset about something?" Lightning flashed in the sky. "That's familiar."
Looking at each other, Annabeth and Percy felt the need to go back into camp. They stood and ran back as the waves started to rise higher.
Inside camp, things were a mess. Not that they hadn't been anyway. There were people grieving and weapons that needed to be put away. Funerals were still being planned for some and for others, send offs with no body.
The sky darkened. Travis walked by Annabeth and Percy. "Did Mr. D give up on the weather or something?"
"Something's wrong." Annabeth said matter of factly. The two stopped walking as the grass around the Demeter cabin started to rapidly grow.
"You can't do this!" Dionysus yelled. His voice was loud but still far away. "It's not fair to the kids! They fought our war, leave them alone! You can't just break your own rules!" Anger seemed to motivate the tone of his voice as well as heartbreak.
Looking at the big house, Travis, Annabeth, and Percy froze. "What the hell?" Travis whispered.
Grape vines grew on the deck of the big house. Chiron left from the front door and started to make his way to the Demeter cabin. At the same time, the door was being overgrown with plants. Connor had been nearby and ran to the cabin. "What's happening?"
"I don't know! I can't stop them!" Katie yelled back. "Get to the window!"
The two cabin leads went to a back window where they started to evacuate the building. Chiron said something to them when he got to them. Tears fell down Katie's face and Connor looked betrayed. "Come on!" He yelled to Katie as she got the last kid out of her cabin.
"We need to help them!" Percy started to run to the cabin. As the three half-bloods ran, the cabin started to crack.
"Take my hand!" And Katie tried. Vines grew around her ankles and legs. She screamed as they overtook her body. As the cabin was completely taken over by sharp vines, Conner tried one last time to reach her. His hand touched her arm before he fell back into the ground.
It took a moment for Connor to process what happened. Chiron dragged him away from the cabin as he tried to go back to Katie. The boy looked down to see a large amount of blood in the grass. Looking for the cause, Connor realized his hand was tangled in the weeds. "My hand." He said breathless.
"Connor!" Travis screamed. "Where the fuck is your hand!?"
Slowly Conner looked down and realized his right hand had been cut off by the overgrown vines. Trying to process everything that happened, he just stared blankly where he hand should have been. Quickly Chiron pulled off his jacket and tore off a sleeve. After that he handed the torn sleeve to Percy and gave the jacket to Connor. "Tie that around his arm as tightly as you can." He told Percy. "Travis, get your brother to the hospital."
"Why not the infirmary?"
"Camp is no longer safe for you. The Gods," the Centaur looked pained as he spoke. "The gods believe the demigods are too dangerous to be left alive after the war. They believe that you might try to rise against them."
The teens looked at each other. "You mean to tell me that we won their war for them and now they want to kill us!?" Percy yelled.
"Oh so they can kill us but not help us?!" Annabeth shouted. She felt betrayed. After so long of trying to defend the gods, they decided to stab the demigods in the back.
Trying to move the demigods away from the Demeter cabin, Chiron continued. "It's unfair, yes, but nothing can be done about it right now. They kept Dionysus and I away from the conversation or we would have fought for you."
The ground shifted as Percy fished tying Chiron's shirt sleeve to Connor's arm to make a tourniquet. Connor hadn't stopped watching the Demeter cabin. Quick and thick vines snapped to the top of the wooden cabin. It snapped under the pressure, sending pieces of wood flying through the air. The remains started to be pulled under the ground.
"No no." Connor whispered. "No, Katie!" Struggling to get to his feet, the boy tried to go to his friend's cabin. Percy grabbed him and pulled him into a trap hug. "Katie!" The demigod yelled, his voice breaking. "Katie!" Pulling him to the ground, Percy tried to calm him down. "We are supposed to go to college after this! Percy let me go, I need to help her!"
"She's gone buddy." Travis fell to his knees, trying to comfort his brother. "We need to get out of here. Someone has to take care of you."
"Please no." Connor sobbed. "She was the only one left. We were supposed to go to college. We were-." The boy could no longer talk. Instead he fell into his brother, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Annabeth, go grab some wood. We need to make the tourniquet tighter." Chiron helped Connor off the ground as the girl found a piece of the Demeter cabin to tighten the tourniquet with.
"Here." Travis took the wood from Annabeth and then grabbed his brother.
"Come on. I'll get you out of here." Travis took Connor into his arms. "Percy, take care of our cabin please. I'll try to get him somewhere safe and come back to help."
That was the first time the group decided to look around. The stray pieces of cabin and stuck campers. Many of them were Demeter's own children and most of them had been killed. Annabeth tried not to cry. After so long, you would think the demigods would just be used to this.
"What are we going to do?" Percy turned to Chiron. Annabeth ran over to one of the surviving Demeter kids and helped her.
"Evacuate camp."
"But then we have to fight gods and monsters!" The son of Poseidon argued.
"Not all the gods believe you should die. They will protect you. Lady Artemis has offered the assistance of her Huntresses and you have the fun support of Dionysus."
"Great." Sighing, Percy looked around. "We should split up." Chiron nodded then went to meet Annabeth.
On the deck of the big house, Dionysus looked over camp. The yelling had subsided. A crack of lightning pushed the god up against the railing. He fell to his knees as he was struck by the unkind hand of his father, Zeus.
Anger filled Percy but he knew he couldn't do anything for him. He watched as Dionysus tried to get up but was met with another strike of lightning. Then the God didn't move. The quick thought of Mr. D being killed crossed Percy's mind but gods can't be killed.
Clarisse sent her cabin member out of the cabin. One of them approached Percy and asked where any of the Apollo kids were. "I'm not sure. We need to find them."
As if the gods had heard them, the Apollo cabin caught fire. There was screaming from the cabin but it didn't last long. One after another, the Ares and Hephaestus cabins also caught fire. The fire in the Ares cabin spread the slowest while the other two cabins were engulfed in seconds.
Young Will Solace came running from the infirmary to see his cabin in flames. "No!" He screamed out in terror. Like his older brothers would have, he ran towards his cabin. Grover, who had just come from the infirmary for a nail in his hoof, caught Will before he could get too close. "Austin and Kayla are still inside! They went to get some blankets!"
Grover pulled him into his arms and away from the building. "It's okay. It will be okay."
In the Ares cabin, Clarisse tried to get her brother away from the wall as the fire spread. He had been leaning against the wall when he was implied by debris from the Demeter cabin. It had come through the wooden walls of the cabin and pinned him to the wall.
"I'll get you out of here." Clarisse started to cough as smoke filled her lungs. The fire crept closer and closer to them.
"It's okay. You should go." The teen struggled to talk.
"No. I'm not just going to leave you here to die." The cabin leader's voice shook.
"If you can't get me out safely, just pull me off the wall."
"That's crazy. It'll kill you!"
"So will the fire."
Taking a second to make her decision, Clarisse sighed. "Alright, let's do this."
Outside of the cabin, Percy helped any injured Hephaestus kids. "We need to get the infirmary evacuated!"
As Annabeth and Percy ran to the building, there was an explosion inside it. The blast knocked the two back. They could hear Will's distress. People had left their cabin by now to see what was going on. Helping each other up, the demigods looked at each other for a moment.
"Is this really happening?" Annabeth said with tears in her eyes. Had they been set up for failure by their parents.
"Maybe Luke had a point." Annabeth didn't seem very amused by Percy's comment. Looking at the fire, Percy dragged them away from the infirmary.
Grover tried to keep from crying. Will didn't need that. As soon as the boy had seen the fire that engulfed the infirmary, his knees gave. The satyr lowered him to the ground as the boy screamed.
"Nice of you to join." Percy said sarcasticly as Thaila came out of the woods.
"What the hell happened?" The huntress started to run with them.
"The gods never intended for us to survive past the war!" Percy yelled. "If we lost, we died and if we won, we died."
"I'll get the girls to help." Thaila said.
"Thank you." Annabeth started. "Percy, where are we going?"
"Chiron said Mr. D was on our side. Thaila, your dad just did a number on him. We need to see if he could help or if his still laid out in the deck."
"Alright."
"I think Percy and I handle that. Thaila, can you go help them." Desperation filled Annabeth's voice. Camp had been her home and she had trusted the gods.
"Okay." Thaila ran off as the Athena and Hermes cabins started to be overwhelmed by vines. The Poseidon cabin was stuck by lightning, setting it on fire.
"That was personal." Percy joked.
"Come on, let's go."
The fires started to spread to the ground and the woods. Clarisse and another Ares kid came out of their cabin. Blood poured to the ground. The cabin leaders got her brother to the ground. "I need a medic!" She yelled. Then she looked around. Almost every cabin was on fire. The infirmary had gone up in flames and so did her hope of saving her bother. "Damn it!"
Looking back, Percy tried to distance himself from the situation. Most people had left their cabin when the buildings started to catch fire. As the Aphrodite cabin caught fire, the last person who needed.to leave the cabin came out with blankets and some kind of medicine. It was like someone had been protecting him from the fire.
Camp half-blood was in chaos. Kids were running everywhere, just trying to survive. Percy looked back at the deck of the big house. Mr. D was nowhere to be seen. The thought that he had left them invaded his mind.
"Pollux!" A pained voice yelled out.
Percy looked to see Dionysus leaning against a tree. It looked like he had been crying. The demigod knew the god had a responsibility to his own child first and he had to respect that. "Come on, we gotta help everyone else."
"Pollux, come here!" Dionysus screamed, just hoping he would be heard. In the midst of all the chaos, he reached out for his child. The teen raised his head when he heard his name.
"Dad!" He yelled out. Then he stopped running and looked for his father. When he found him, he sprinted to him. Wrapping his arms around him, Dionysus grabbed his son. The two looked at camp as tears fell down Pollux's face. Not letting him go the god pulled his son away from the battle, letting him bury his face in his shoulder.
No one could blame them. After all, they were all tired of fighting.
"Dave." Clarisse spoke. "Just hang on."
"It's getting cold. Clarisse, you can let me die. I'm tired it's okay."
Tears attacked her eyes. "Dave."
Reaching his up to her face, he sighed. "You did everything you could." His breathing started to slow. It wasn't long before he was gone.
Standing, Clarisse joined Percy and Annabeth. "Are you okay?" Percy said, concerned.
"Fine." She spoke harshly. Annabeth stopped running and Percy and Clarisse stopped. They scanned camp. "Is everyone out?"
"Maybe. Camp just got way too quiet that fast." Percy was talking quickly.
Travis startled them when he walked up to them. "I'm back. I got two of my brothers to help Connor." Thaila joined them as well.
"The girls are ready to help if need be. Lady Artemis says she'll take anyone she can."
"Okay. We need to get out of here." Clarisse to few steps forwards. She turned to face the others. Grabbing Annabeth's hand, she pulled the two being a tree and to the ground. "Get down!" The others ducked as lightning went over their heads.
"Oh come on!" Percy yelled.
"Let me talk to him." Thaila tried. "You need to get out of here."
"I'm not doing that again." Annabeth said. "I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself again."
Sighing, Thaila pushed her sister into Percy's arms. "I'll distract him."
"No, we stand together." Clarisse grabbed her sword.
Pushing the sword down, Percy sighed. "How about we run together instead? That works too."
"Fine."
"This way." Annabeth took Percy's hand and guided them out of camp. After all, she knew the camp the best of all of them. The group grabbed Grover and Will, who had hidden in the woods near Thalia's tree.
"Where do we go?" Clarisse asked.
"My home. We can figure it out from there. I'm sure Mom won't mind that much." He looked back at camp. The boy saved the Gods for their children and this is what they get? The first real safe place Percy had, gone. Most of the people he cares about are gone. Percy sighed and started to lead the way to his home.
Part 2: soon
Friendly reminder that Grover and Percy’s empathy link was still there in Tartarus.
<33
Friendly reminder that Grover was Luke’s protector too.
<33
Alone in the Universe (from Seussical) belongs to Percy Jackson and Grover Underwood. Percy saw the beauty of the godly world, but no one believed him….until he met Grover. Grover showed Percy he’s not alone. He’s not crazy or broken or wrong for experiencing the world this way. In fact, many other people experience it this way, too, and it’s beautiful. Grover gave Percy permission to exist just like Horton does for JoJo. They are each other’s confidant and reminder that, though their world is dark and cold, there is always someone there who understands.
Horton and JoJo’s meeting, in AITU, serves as a turning point in the show to prove Horton’s obsession with “Who” and JoJo’s “Thinks” are connected. They’ve been searching for each other this whole time and discover magic lies just beyond their imaginations. Once they realize they’re a part of the same world, the music swells and they belt out the rest of the song, embracing their newfound identities. (Can you tell I really love Seussical?)
Percy feels broken and wrong. He sees so much beauty in the world and doesn’t understand why other people don’t. It’s only when he (through Grover) discovers Camp Half Blood that he begins to accept himself and the way he sees the world. Percy was never truly alone, he only needed to call out for his Protector who has held his hand and guided him every step of the way. All it takes is one person to make someone feel seen.
“One small voice in the universe. One true friend in the universe…who believes in me.”
idk if this controversial but the original pjo series is WAY better than heros of Olympus and the three main characters (excluding leo) are just the worse version of the original main three
You know, I for one am so glad they had the Grover and Ares scene in the diner. We got a glimpse into just how resourceful and smart Grover can be, it's gonna make season 2 so much better now that we've established that I'm so excited!!!
Percy Jackson Thoughts
Spoilers under the cut!!
i LOVE that Sally does not "silently endure" Gabe's abuse (mostly verbal, and honestly kind of comedic, which i appreciate bc the show is for kids and it opens up the idea of abuse without having to show women and children be hurt)
like. No?? She yells right back at him and kinda lays down the law??? but they also do a good job in the scene where he's picking on Percy of reminding you that this dude is not sympathetic.
Also, Sally lowk slipped a New York accent in while she was yelling at him and im about that.
"Like Jesus?" I WAS CACKLING.
Episode Two I was sick and obsessed. I really like that the show feels in line with the pacing of the books, because it always felt like everything was moving very fast plot-wise.
I'm obsessed with Clarisse. Please, PLEASE let young pretty girls of color be mean. It is my only wish in life. The YA television scene owes us for how you people treated Katara having even a single emotion (no I haven't let that go).
Clarisse really inspires fear in the show without ever feeling unnatural, and even in the first two episodes we can see her turmoil and how that will manifest throughout the series.
Annabeth with the one-word "yes. no. yes." is so adorable and I get the feeling that's going to be a reoccurring thing as we watch her grow up.
On the same note, her calling Percy sunshine, adjusting his armor, and openly admitting to stalking him. Ooh girl we're in for the long haul.
Grover is precious. Enough said.
I really, REALLY liked Charlie's portrayal of Luke. It really sold why Percy (and the readers) had COMPLETE faith in him in the book, and why we were shocked at the betrayal.
I also loved seeing Chris Rodriguez, which I was not expecting??? For me, Chris felt like he just appeared in Titans Curse so seeing him speak and feel alive was really enjoyable. I was always very anti Chris and Clarisse because it felt like they were shunting her off to a corner with a random name we'd never heard of, so giving Chris a more interesting role while still keeping him as a minor character (he has lines!!) was really fun to me. If they do decide to go the chris and clarisse route in the show (they might not, of course) i would probably be more onboard.
I'm SO glad they state, early on, as soon as possible, that Annabeth is Luke's SISTER. Trust me, I was in the discourse trenches with Lukabeth shippers, and I fought that last "i love you" tooth and nail. Honestly, based on what we've seen, the sibling thing seems reciprocal. Thank god. War is over.
My last thing is that if you guys are talking about the show, please stop calling Annabeth Leah or Leahbeth. I understand making the distinction for art or fanfic but the more yall separate her from the character in all its forms, the less it feels like you respect her. I only say this because I haven't seen it happening with Aryan or Walker really and it's kind of weirding me out.
I have so many feelings about Grover and his Uncle Ferdinand.
And you are going to hear them all.
Okay so. I don’t know why as a long-term PJO fan this didn’t occur to me until tonight when I watched Ep. 3 of the show, but…
The first time Uncle Ferdinand is mentioned, Grover started off just talking about his uncle to break tension. To give a fun fact about where they were, and what that means to him. (Mostly because he is nervous and is the equivalent of a teenager and teens love nothing more than to say nothing, the most unsettling shit, or whatever will conveniently draw attention away from whatever problem is going on)
This changes once we get to Medusa’s. He is more worried about Annabeth and Percy, and completely forgets about his rambles about his lost Uncle... Until they reach the basement where they are trying to escape. You get to see Grover’s despair at his Uncle’s demise. You can hear it in his voice when he talks about how he doesn’t look scared, not like the other statues. He sounds bittersweet, proud in a miserable way.
But what sticks with me the most is this—
Grover, sweet Grover, didn’t know where his Uncle Ferdinand failed.
He had no way of knowing when and where his Uncle perished. He says it quite frankly when he says his comment about how “he didn’t even make it past Trenton”.
He knew that his Uncle had failed to find Pan, of course. He never came back. But he didn’t know just how quickly he failed.
Which leads me to this fuckin’ heartbreaking realization:
Grover stares at his Uncle Ferdinand’s statue. He obviously is devastated, and proud, in equal measures. But he stares at the statue.
Why?
Not just because it’s his Uncle Ferdinand, no— he stares because he believes this will be his fate too. Not necessarily the statue part, but the failure part. He doesn’t have confidence that he can help Percy and Annabeth.
I’m sure by the end of the Book 1/Season 1, Uncle Ferdinand’s fate won’t haunt him too much…
…until he leaves on his own quest for Pan. Until he’s caught by Polyphemus, the Cyclops. Until he’s frantically undoing his “hard work” every night, praying Polyphemus doesn’t see through his disguise.
Do you think he wonders what’s the worst fate, while he unravels his wedding veil in the Cyclops’ lair: statue, unwilling bride, or snack?
The way Percy and Grover exchange deli meat and cheese in the first episode just
You know sometimes I remember that Grover is 28 in the books (24 in the show.) And I just laugh idk why but I laugh
Wonderland pt 1
Part 1 (Eventually) Yandere Luke castellan x Gender neutral reader
Summary you're from wonderland well at least you're mother is you're father is a God. The best swordsman in camp takes an.... interesting and obsessive liking to you
Also I feel like we offen forget wine isn't the only thing Dionysus is the God of but madness as well. I currently have bad writers block and couldn't currently think of anything else to add so I decided to split it into parts since I needed to post something.
Trigger warnings nothing yet, but eventually in future parts yandere themes like stalking, manipulation, kidnapping (extra)
You weren't from this world well......technically you are you were from a part of the world everyone thought was made up just another part of the human imagination......Wonderland . Wonderland was very.....disconnected from actual sane people or large bustling cities like New York. Your mother was probably one of the subjects of the queen of hearts just kinda surviving. Your father isn't exactly normal either he was also never around. Honestly as much as you love your mother it was kinda hard to imagine a God falling for her or really a God falling for anyone in Wonderland because while some of the inhabitants of Wonderland is more sane then others even the more sane ones start to go insane eventually.
Which is why when you were 13 you ran away from home. Although you had no clue where to go or what to do now you had left Wonderland. You're clothes and mismatched socks probably also made you stand out to by standers because in real life on Earth the other humans weren't used to seeing people dress in bright colors and patterns unless celebrating. After a few days of wandering aimlessly you ran into help or rather help ran into you.
You were desperately scrounging around for food thinking maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave home when you felt someone run smack into you causing you both to tumble towards the ground. "Oh my pan! I'm so sorry." A male voice said. He had ...goat horns? Ehh not the weirdest thing you've ever seen. "Are those horns really or .....?" You asked. "They're real. Oh I'm Grover. " Grover replied. You weren't sure what to say or do and that's how you met Grover. After about a week of traveling with Grover is when you met Luke, Thalia and Annabeth.
" Hey Grover I'm going to find something to eat for myself. " You replied. " Ok just don't go far I'll finish setting up camp." Grover said. You did in fact wander to far when you stumbled upon a bush full of berries and you were about to eat some when you heard a voice tell you to wait. "Wait, don't eat those! those are holly berries they are poisonous!" A young female voice exclaimed. You looked around for the source of the voice. You spotted a young girl no older than 7 standing between some trees you could make out 2 more figures behind her one another female and the other male. You backed away your left hand reaching for a dagger in your pocket you swear wasn't there a moment ago while you're right hand still held the berries.
" Who are you why should I trust you?" You questioned. You got a closer look at them the seven year old girl had grey eyes , black hair and brown skin, the other gir who looked about a year younger than you so 12 had choppy short black hair , blue eyes and is white. She pushed the younger seven year old behind her. " Thalia I can protect myself!" The seven year old exclaimed. While the two girls were arguing you managed to sneak away not noticing the male following you.
" Grover!" You exclaimed finally making it back to the very stressed looking satyr. Grover rushed over to you. " Y/n there you are! You were gone for an hour I was worried I was calling your name but no reply and I didn't want to leave the fire unattended. Your not hurt are you?" Grover asked like a panicked father looking over you to make sure you didn't have any new injuries. " Hey Grover I'm ok. I'm ok." You replied. " Pan Y/n you had me so worried!" Grover exclaimed. "LUKE!" The older female voice Thalia called out causing You and Grover to look in the direction of Thalia's voice and there stood the male that had been with the 2 younger females.
Now learning his name is Luke. You started to reach for your dagger once again.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. "
