Alone In The Universe (from Seussical) Belongs To Percy Jackson And Grover Underwood. Percy Saw The Beauty
Alone in the Universe (from Seussical) belongs to Percy Jackson and Grover Underwood. Percy saw the beauty of the godly world, but no one believed him….until he met Grover. Grover showed Percy he’s not alone. He’s not crazy or broken or wrong for experiencing the world this way. In fact, many other people experience it this way, too, and it’s beautiful. Grover gave Percy permission to exist just like Horton does for JoJo. They are each other’s confidant and reminder that, though their world is dark and cold, there is always someone there who understands.
Horton and JoJo’s meeting, in AITU, serves as a turning point in the show to prove Horton’s obsession with “Who” and JoJo’s “Thinks” are connected. They’ve been searching for each other this whole time and discover magic lies just beyond their imaginations. Once they realize they’re a part of the same world, the music swells and they belt out the rest of the song, embracing their newfound identities. (Can you tell I really love Seussical?)
Percy feels broken and wrong. He sees so much beauty in the world and doesn’t understand why other people don’t. It’s only when he (through Grover) discovers Camp Half Blood that he begins to accept himself and the way he sees the world. Percy was never truly alone, he only needed to call out for his Protector who has held his hand and guided him every step of the way. All it takes is one person to make someone feel seen.
“One small voice in the universe. One true friend in the universe…who believes in me.”

Vecna trying to fuck with Mike by using his fear of losing El, but it fails and all turns into a game of dnd and then Vecna’s kicked out of Mike’s mind with a rainbow dice being thrown across the screen.
Then Vecna tries again and finds Mike still in his happy place aka playing dnd, with the rainbow dice once again seeing him out before he even gets a chance to try anything.
Then Vecna getting desperate and going to ask Will like Hey, you wouldn’t by any chance know what scares Mike would you?
Then he tries to break Will one final time, all the while Mike from Will’s POV is helping him with his bloody nose for like 5 minutes straight. As Vecna is insulting Will, Mike’s just sitting there front and center like… 👁️👄👁️ You okay Will?
AND HE FAILS AGAIN!!?!
i love knowing that lucas and mike's new coke debate is actually two different, subtextual debates, wearing a funny hat
L: it's like carpenter's 'the thing'. the original is a classic. no question about it. but the remake? sweeter, bolder, better.
M: you're insane.
L: so, you prefer the original 'the thing'?
M: what? no, i'm not talking about 'the thing', i'm talking about new coke.
this makes perfect sense as lucas talking about how mike/will's end point is sweeter bolder better than mike/el from seasons 1/2, because mike/will is all of those things. you could also apply it to lucas's relationships improving over time after where he started with el in season 1; contrast that against how welcoming he was to max in season 2, and what he's saying is accurate. but it makes NO sense at all as being about new mike, because new mike from seasons 3/4 is, in fact, meaner tamer worser than original mike. the half an episode or so in season 4 where you think new lucas is siding with the jocks also makes him look meaner tamer worser
L: it's the same concept, dude.
M: uh, actually, it's not the same concept.
for historical context, everyone hating new coke was a real thing. pepsi was selling better than coke, so coke freaked out and tried to make their formula taste more like pepsi, except people who bought coke wanted coke, not pepsi, so everyone hated it. new coke is about giving in to what you think people want instead of staying the path even when you're not the most popular; aka conforming to distance yourself from your own otherness, and becoming worse as a result
lucas doesn't think he'd change that much if he conformed (he's yet to try it). mike knows firsthand that that's not true (he's already doing it). it's really not the same concept as "a continuation of a beloved classic which just happens to be better than the original". this goofy argument serves as super subtle foreshadowing for mike and lucas disagreeing over the concept of popularity in season 4; they see it as natural growth vs coerced conformity, because lucas is realistic and deals with reality as is, while mike is creative and sees the constructs that need changing for what they are
When it's time for Annabeth to take down her braids for wash day, Percy helps her and its another way they bond. Then he learns how to do the hair style to also help Annabeth put a fresh set in.
Screaming crying shaking throwing up
“Mike’s not gonna forgive this one” mlvns are gonna be shook when the only thing Mike is doing next season is try to save Will from Vecna’s bullshit lmao
Tbh I think a lot of people really aren’t prepared for how much s5 is going to subvert their expectations about Mike’s character, not just his sexuality/liking Will/the focus his and Will’s relationship will get, but the fact that he has motivations, desires and inner conflicts that don’t revolve around El. He’s not going to be her “protector”, terrified of losing her and putting her on a pedestal for the rest of their lives. He’s going to heal from that trauma of s1 and let her go, and discover what actually makes him happy. I’m literally so excited to see him develop his understanding of love and relationships and who he is. But to some El truly is the be all & end all of his existence and the entire point of his arc over the series, so the whiplash will be pretty significant.
