I fucking hate the "male loneliness epidemic" it's such a load of bullshit. Men treat women like literal dog shit for a millennia, the most recent generations start to decide that they're human beings and deserve human treatment so they leave all those awful fucking men behind, and suddenly men are lonely and it's women's fault for not putting up with men. :)

I'm not going to "give him a chance" I'm fucking sick of it. Men are so entitled to women's EXISTENCES that we're expected to fix THEIR loneliness. A woman is lonely and she gets told to lose weight or wear makeup, a man is lonely and everyone says how evil women need to 'give him a chance.' Shut up.

Since the beginning of time, men have been programmed to seek out the most orgasms possible with the least amount of effort. Giving them 24/7 access to an electronic rolodex has been a complete nightmare for women. Men treat us like vending machines; put in the least amount of effort and expect sex to come out. Even the "decent" ones are human participation awards suffering from serious delusions of adequacy. And the rest have the communication skills of an alarm clock and the desirability of an onion peel. Their ambition far outweighs their dating skills and no amount of rejection will wake-them-the-fuck-up. As far as effort goes, men are still a notch above sticking their dick in a vacuum.

The patriarchy, male privilege, gender oppression… again and again, we are beaten over the head with dogmatic, absolutist, and terrifying catch phrases, each to be accepted without question.

You see, when it comes to political and structural advantage, men have it all, and women have none.

But do such theories make sense in modern society?

Why, if our male privilege is so sweet, do so many thousands of men end their lives in such tragic stories of suicide?

Why, if our society is so patriarchal, does it ignore the countless and increasingly urgent issues that devastate men and boys?

And why, if this society is designed for my advantage, no less as a straight white man, then why in the build-up to a General Election is there not one policy designed for men and boys?

I don’t understand.

And if the world hates and neglects women so much, why do our major political parties line up to offer them a plethora of well-meaning policies, showering them with taxpayer money, and words of support, compassion, and kindness?

The political agendas are out, outlining the next generation of political change, and ambition, and it’s chock full of ‘women and girls’ being a national priority.

Meanwhile any question about the other half of society, to rightfully ask ‘what about men and boys?’, will only draw sneers and squeals, eye rolls, and violence, ‘this isn’t about you’, they snap back.

Yes.

We know that already. That’s the point.

It never is.

It never is about boys falling behind and out of education.

It never is about the homeless men left to die on the street.

It never is about the millions of male victims of abuse with nowhere to go.

Those who say, ‘this isn’t about you’, have yet to realise they have missed the point entirely, whilst simultaneously impaling themselves upon it.

We know.

This isn’t about us, and it never is.

So, who, in another full house of political neglect, betrayal and failure, are you going to vote for?

there is a very concerning number of men regressing and becoming more conservative as women get more liberal, and honestly, as a stem girlie, it feels very very..off?a couple of guys just decided to catcall me in the middle of a math class, and i just...couldn't say anything yk, and the teacher then had the audacity to tell the class that girls are a distraction! be fr, are you distracted by my existence or by the fact that those guys are deciding to be awful?? but also, in the recesses of my mind i find it very funny how ppl are threatened by me just chilling

jesus. what a shitty fkn teacher. but unfortunately they aren't the only teacher like that. in school, i had a physics teacher who literally said something like "girls why are you studying? you only have to do household work and make round rotis once you get married" during class and that one line hurt me and all my female classmates so much. like this man is supposed to teach teenagers? this man? it was such a shock to my system. 😭 this casual sexism is everywhere around us. and no matter how much you study or how much you earn, you will never be free from it. and the worst part is that after all this men have the fkn audacity to ask why feminism is needed.

That whole "stop accusing queer men of upholding patriarchy, we shouldn't divide queer people by gender lines" thing... Like, on one hand, yes, queerness is about breaking down gender roles, not taking them to war, and we absolutely shouldn't take queer men and tell them that we are not about to support them because they're "too privileged", Fuck that. But on the other hand, ignoring how patriarchy DOES EXIST in queer spaces is just wishful thinking. Like, gay men get higher levels of visibility and respect from the mainstream than lesbians do. Bi women are treated by the community with a higher level of hostility and alienation than bi men are treated with. Trans women are (sometimes, this is pretty context-dependant and there's nuance to how it interacts with internal sense of identity next to expression and early signs of dysphoria, but pretty often) socialized as boys when they are younger, and therefore have less imprinted shame on them from the age where everything you believe about the world shapes what you will believe about the world forever than trans men are stuck with. Trans men, on the other hand (and there's nuance to that too, that mostly depends on passing and gender presentation, but again, pretty often) gain societal privilege over trans women in similar positions to theirs if and when they start passing, and also get to not experience the gender that they actually feel identification with as one that is societally linked to inferiority and submission in a way that is nearly impossible to separate from your sense of self the way that honestly, kind of all women experience. My point is- even though this stuff truly is complicated, patriarchy and male privilege absolutely does exist in queer spaces. And again, this doesn't make anybody evil, or responsible for the mistreatment of others, or mean that you "have to work to negate the harm caused by the system you benefit from". You should get to just... Live your life. But also, don't go around denying that some of us have it better than other ones of us.

Unfortunately, this is all the result of sexism/rape culture/white male privilege/patriarchy/university politics/legal system corruption. Am I forgetting something? There are no words to express my rage about this situation. My thoughts are with the woman who fell victim to this disgusting, lowest of the low scumbag. She has showed incredible strength and courage and I wish her from the bottom of my heart a peaceful and fulfilling life. As for him, the legal system doesn’t want to punish him as it should so I hope that AT THE VERY LEAST the rest of his life will be a living hell. AS IT SHOULD BE. Turner’s dad…another pathetic excuse of a human being. Your son is so stressed he can’t eat? TOUGH LUCK. His life will never be the same? TOO FUCKING BAD. That’s what happens or rather, SHOULD happen when you rape someone. Why the FUCK should anyone care about whether a rapist’s life will be ruined or not? MAYBE WE SHOULD ASK THE ACTUAL VICTIM OF THIS CRIME ABOUT HOW HER LIFE HAS CHANGED AND SEE WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY. MAYBE WE SHOULD STOP HAVING COMPASSION FOR THE RAPIST INSTEAD OF THE VICTIM. The pitfalls of alcohol and promiscuity? Just…talk about victim-blaming and derailing from the fact that your son is a sex offender…Which brings us to: “20 minutes of action”. This is one of the most insulting, offensive, dehumanizing things I have ever read in my entire life. I can’t believe that he reduced a mentally and physically painful and traumatic situation to the amount of time it lasted. BTW, shooting someone takes one second, not that this is relevant in any way - I’m just sayin’. As for him calling the rape “action”…I can only hope he and his son get what they deserve, somehow. It doesn’t matter if a man has been a saint all his life, it doesn’t matter if he has never raped someone before, it doesn’t matter if he won’t be able to handle prison. You do the crime, you do the time. The DESERVING time. No leniency, no pandering, no bending over backwards to accommodate YET ANOTHER male. Let’s show empathy and care to the victim, not the rapist.
