I had a guy tell me I was lucky because bisexual women didn't experience biophobia and it was "so unfair" that there was no stigma around bi women like there is bi men
Huh. That’s not right. Like at all. That’s really wrong.
if you’re a bisexual woman you are de-facto lying. You have a hard time finding a girlfriend? You’re lying. You’re scared of talking to women? Yeah sorry we’re gonna have the worst possible faith interpretation of that either, because you are not capable of love. Oh you prefer women? You’re lying. You’re not allowed to talk about it. You’re lying if you prefer women, and you’re lying if you prefer men, and you are forced into a self-fulfilling prophecy from the day you’re born and judged for it, and if you end up with a man that’s always been your destiny and it retroactively makes all your relationships with women not count, if you express sexual attraction to a woman it is for the male gaze and it’s proof you’re lying, your sexual history is public property, your whole life is a performance anyway, and everything you say is proof of how much of a liar you are

lesbian separatism is truly a rot in the sapphic community. the idea that a specific sexuality is morally better, has a higher claim to some parts of history, the outright hatred of bisexual sapphics in the name of ‘preserving lesbian history’ as if bisexuals haven’t been here helping build lesbian history through the entirety of it, and the blatant ignorance of well documented history supporting and advocating for bi dykes goes to show that queer people can perpetuate bigotry too.
bisexuals have always been dykes, we’ve always been stud, butch and femme, and if you think otherwise i encourage you to look throughly into bisexual history and dismantle your superiority complex. lesbians and bisexuals have so much more in common then we have differences.
at this point, if you're not actively against biphobia, i don't think i'll ever truly believe your support for bi women as a person who's not one is genuine. the blog i took these screenshots from claims to be an ally to bisexuals but then inevitably dropped this banger. /s
Bisexual Feminist Flag ♀
For bisexual women, and all bisexuals who support women’s rights and human rights! <3
we all know men hate lesbians because they hate the idea of a woman who doesn't need a man in any way but this is also reflected in bi people. the conclusions people draw like 'oh you're bi? no you just like men, don't you?' are because they can't imagine a world where men aren't the center of it. toxic masculinity is deeper than you think (if you didn't already come to this conclusion lmao)
“available to men” is a really gross and misogynist way to talk about bi women so jot that down
Thinking about erasure of male bisexuality
It’s based in misogyny
Bisexuality is associated with women and femininity
As in “all women are actually bi”
Bisexuality is a “girls thing”, it’s a thing girls do
That men are not supposed to
Male bisexuality is erased because it’s socially unthinkable that men be associated with femininity
It’s perceived as an inherent contradiction which therefore cannot exist
Further, men are reluctant to identify as bi because bisexuality is associated with women
That’s why there are twice as many bi women as men
Because men don’t want to associate themselves with femininity
Which is also why men who do identify as bi are so eager to “reclaim” their masculinity
Show that bi men are still “real men”
That “men can be bisexual, too”
Kinda like bronies? Or all those products that have to put “MAN” on them because femininity is something they need to get rid of, disassociate from? Like dirt caught on the hem of their clothes that they need to constantly wash off?
And in the process shit all over bi women
Implying that we’re “privileged” because we’re more fetishized
Or that we should actually be grateful that we’re constantly in danger of sexual violence because I don’t even know why
Or constantly wondering why bi movements are controlled mostly by women, while the whole fucking world is dominated by men
But I swear to all the gods, there are ways of talking about male bisexuality without shitting all over bi women.
It’s called talking about masculinity and addressing it critically
It’s called acknowledging bi women’s oppression
And offering us solidarity
Instead of thinking that this is a zero sum game where you have to take from us whatever it is you think we have
To win some sort of coveted visibility prize that doesn’t even exist
And it’s called resisting misogyny
And reclaiming male bisexuality as something that threatens patriarchy
Rather than trying to reify patriarchal and misogynist values
Try it
It can only benefit everyone
bisexual women shouldn't have to downplay the intensity of our attraction to men and bisexual women shouldn't have to add a disclaimer about how we don't actually like, like men and bisexual women shouldn't have to assure anyone that we like women more, or that we like men but we only love women, or that we would never be with a man voluntarily, yadda yadda yadda.... like what started as a joke about preferring women either because of a shared experience or because of the euphoria of realizing we could be attracted to women has turned into a game to convince everyone that we're not like those bisexuals. and the thing is!! a couple years ago we recognized this as a real issue but now we seem to have agreed that it's nbd because men suck anyways or whatever.......... whatever.
The funniest thing about biphobia is that when it's directed towards men it's just homophobia and when it's directed towards women it's just misogyny. But the woke kind so it's actually okay
bisexual girls are great pass it on
Hecatic flag 💜💜🤍💜💜
Hecatic (dervived from the Greek goddess Hecate) means when you’re bisexual + sapphic, I’ve seen many bi sapphic combination flags and just wanted to make my own :) Hecatic is all bisexual sapphics regardless if they have a specific preference or not, and regardless of relationship status (or lack of) <3
I wanted to make it pink and purple to showcase bisexuality and sapphicism :3 and the flower in the centre is a moonflower! It felt fitting with moons being a bi symbol and a flower on the sapphic flag!
I do not understand how you can be a feminist and simultaneously reduce bisexual women to their relationships with men.
Bi women, you should never feel ashamed. Never.
Of being bisexual. You are not greedy, you are not looking for attention, you are not actually just gay/lesbian or straight, you are you, and that is beautiful.
Of liking women. You are not a sinner, you are not impure, you are not being sexy or fetishized for men, you are not following a “trend”. You are not broken, you are you and that is beautiful.
Of liking men. You are not faker, you are not a traitor to the queer community, you are not putting on an act or lying for attention, you are you and that is beautiful.
Of liking nonbinary folks. You are not secretly pansexual. You are not “defying the definition of bisexual” (the definition of bisexuality has attraction to nonbinary folks anyways) you are you and that is beautiful.
Of being a woman. You are not made to just take care of the house and kids (but if you want to that’s okay!) you are not a sex object, you are not weaker than men, you are you and that is beautiful.
Of being a feminist. You are not too loud or angry or dramatic, you are not hateful, you are not “unnecessarily political”, you are not shrill or annoying, you are you and that is beautiful.
Please never feel ashamed. Please treat yourself kindly. Stay hydrated, give yourself a hug, remember that you are awesome. Please love yourself. If you are having difficulties doing so, be patient with yourself, and just try to love yourself. Do it for me. Because I have felt shame for all of these reasons and I’m finally happy with myself exactly as I am. If I could do it, so can you
