Crescent Moon turned misty, brown eyes warmed only by strings of light scattered on the floor. He was captured by the glow, tazed by tingling sensations in his stomach.

The more days I live the more I find Takada absolutely moronic. She spews senseless Kira extremist bs to make herself feel important, she indulges in the fame that being the "Kira Queen" gives her
She has the capacity to use her head yet refuses to question anything around her
Near isn't particularly mean about Misa unlike the rest of the cast (albeit he never had to interact with her) but he looks down on Takada. It's a particular type of stupidity that ruffles his feathers.
And I must say I share the sentiment
So I took the liberty to provide alternative translations for Near's roast (cuz boy is SASSY)

No for sure it's meant to be ironic how he's simultaneously the most child-like and yet arguably one of the wiser/more mature characters + a whole lot of judgmental and sass π€£π€£π€£

last night I had a dream I was near
many near thoughts today. he is so cute.
today I went on the sims for the first time in a month and made a really fucking bad 27!near <3
sims 4 near update:
- his last name is deathnote
- he lives in a bungalow
- he's super rich cause i used cheats
- he has hearing aids
- and top surgery scars because transmasc near is CANON
- he had a husband who then became a wife and then I killed her in the pool cause she pissed me off once
- I deleted the pool
- he cleaned up all his toys and I cried irl because it was so cute to me
- he has a computer room and it's where he spends all his time
- when he gets mad he shouts as a large dinosaur plush toy
- he works as a secret agent cause that's the closest thing to the spk I could think of
- he's really good at his job. bro is being promoted left and right.
- I should add mello and matt to the world and make them neighbours
- or matt could live in mello's basement
- his favourite music is classical and lullabies
- he set his kitchen on fire, extinguished it, ran out the house and cried on the street
- friends with an elder. he's friends with an elder.
- I want him to have a cat but I don't have the pets thingy so he can't have a little cat. or an army of cats.
- he has freckles!
- he also walks like a monster and has bad posture cause there's no way in hell he wouldn't do that irl
