Song number 9 on "Organic Discontent." I've always liked the idea of murder ballads, but I'd never really found one that was as crushingly bleak as I might have liked. This song is an attempt to fill something of that hole for myself. I tried to imagine what it might feel like to have done something utterly horrid that cannot be undone. I wanted to try to capture something of what I imagine must be a moment of piercing realisation, when instinct, aggression and adrenaline instantly recede and a heavy tidal wave of acute, oppressive awareness comes rolling in, leaving your entire being flooded with sickening regret. We should always remember that killing another human being is actually incredibly easy and something, I believe, we are all capable of ... to be human and to live in any way that even comes close to what we might define as "good" requires eternal vigilance.

how to help in a genocide — written by an arab

DONATING

This one is very obvious, donating helps by a mile, but don’t feel bad if you can’t donate any money donating is for those who can afford necessities and the donations. Donating can be in multiple ways. You can donate to help get a family out of Gaza or donate to help send recourses to those in refuge camps.

BEST CHARITY GROUPS FOR DONATIONS

Human Concern international.

Islamic relief USA

Palestine Red Crescent societies

Gofundme to family’s in Gaza

Palestine children’s relief fund

BUYING FROM LOCAL SHOPS

Buying from local business that are pro Palestine and donate or Palestinians hoping to evacuate friends and family.

CHARITY WORK

Community service does make a difference, settling down with a groups and packing boxes or resources is as much help as donating.

SPREADING AWARENESS

Spreading awareness helps as it reaches audiences that are able to help by donating or community service. A simply pin or shirt goes a long way as it reminds the world to not forget about the chaos in Palestine.

YOU CANNOT SILENCE JUSTICE

Today is A-Little-Awareness Day! Severe disease, racism, poverty, loneliness, destruction, abuse and so many more we don´t even think about. We see them every day and yet we choose to ignore them. There are many special days, to pay tribute to our fighting fellows. So let´s make everyday a little bit of awareness day!  It´s not much of a difference for us, but it can really help to brighten up someone’s day or make it a little less cumbersome. If you happen to see a person in a wheelchair, don´t stare at them. It´s just a wheelchair and not an alien ship! If somebody is very slender up to the point of unhealthy, then there is a reason for that. If they are aware about it or not. The words of a clueless stranger might do more harm, even if well-meant. If we pay a bit more attention to our daily actions, then we will be able to A little empathy a day keeps the ignorance away ~ (Excuse my French) #Foldingleaves #awareness #mentalhealthawareness #staystrong #disabled #mindfulness #awakening #nevergiveup #fightforhumanity #madworld #redleaves #messagetobears #art #littlematters #lizzyeatsart #pencilart #youngartist #imaginationarts https://www.instagram.com/p/BqV8cB3h8RY/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7vfsr8l8bgn1

So, I got a problem, does anyone have any advice?

It's not that I worry about what people think of me, no, I worry about how people percieve me.

I will inevitably be percieved as something I'm not (this stresses me out), which (sometimes) causes people not to like me. I still remember someone telling me their impression of me was not great, but with forced proximity they realise I actually am great.

I don't want there to be forced proximity for people to start liking me.

But I can't control their perceptions. Sometimes when I know I am percieved well, I am hesitant to (drastically) change my appearance, fearing their positive perception of me will go away/change. It's uncomfortable.

But for confidence or something like that, I shouldn't care and it is pointless to, but I don't know how. Also, I can control it for a bit. I know that when I look a certain way, people will percieve me as such. So the phrase you can't control it, let it go, doesn't add up here. Of course, I can't totally control it, but I can for a bit.

Does anyone have any tips/knows what I mean?

So, I Got A Problem, Does Anyone Have Any Advice?

PLEASE STOP, READ, AND SHARE

This is not my usual content I would post but it needs to be said. Earlier today I was at Walmart to pick up purple shampoo and a loaf of bread. I decided to browse their makeup to look for a new blush and there were maybe three other people in there: a mother and her daughter and a young woman, maybe in her mid twenties.

While I was standing there the young woman came up to me and very nervously asked if she could walk around with my while I finished my shopping because she thought a man was following her in the store. She told me what he was wearing and his build and said that she had been weaving in and out of aisles in the store and everytime she changed aisles the man would follow her from a not so subtle distance. Where I live there has been a rise in human trafficking in a few nearby areas and she told me that she had seen a lot of that on the news and I could tell she was extremely nervous. I let her know that she could walk around with my while I grabbed what I needed and even offered to walk with her to her car just in case. She ended up just walking with me to get my stuff and then we separated when we both needed to checkout; per her assurance that she would be fine.

Being another young woman alone in the store I was very alert and mildly nervous walking to my car alone even though I have been there a million times by myself. I made it to my car safe and as I was pulling out of the parking spot I saw the same woman walking out to her car, alone and safe as well.

The point of this is that people, women and men and everyone else, shouldn't have to put up with the fear of being kidnapped and sold while simply shopping, or anywhere else for that matter. While this should never happen, the sad truth is that it does happen, and please if you notice anything suspicious going on or see someone in need of help do not hesitate to step in to help or clear up any confusion on a situation.

And if you are ever in a situation like this, please please please, don't wait for something to happen, talk to security or an employee, ask to walk with someone for a few minutes, find something to do to PREVENT NOT DEFEND. Don't wait to be the person on the news that has everyone else worrying.

So I was researching Marie Antoinette's sexual orientation, since I had heard some previous claims stating she was sapphic, and I was DISGUSTED with what I found. The pornographic propaganda is just outrageous. I know I'm supposed to be like "WOWIE!! WOAH!! GAY GAY GAY!!" But NO!? That is horrible to make of an actual person. A child, almost. She was, what, 18? 19? Whether she actually did any of that or not, (I don't think she did, however) that content is horrible. I have had smut written about me and sent to the school, and I don't want it to happen to anyone else. Especially not if I was the QUEEN and that stuff was spreading around the country. Ew, Ew, Ew.

I was just horrified. Honestly, wtf y'all.

Wtf was up with 18th century mad french people!? JESUS.

I won't show any images here to protect my account, go find them yourself if it interest you. Blech.

Not cool man.

Sometimes I catch myself in thought, thinking like a child. Wanting things and thinking of it as utter possibility, without thought of how to get it.

Now I'm on the train the 4. 35 min away from work. { SOHO } women's and children's clothing.

I see two little dark skin children.  Both boys, possibly 1 to 3 years apart in age. Both to me look very similar in age. The way I'm able to differentiate between them is the level of education that one has over the other.

Simply looking at them I fall into child mode. As I think, my mind is reflecting back on how I was with my little sibling. Then my thoughts went to how could one behave this way in public. They were tiffing.  The older one telling the younger one to leave it. As the mother still engage in conversation with a terribly  dressed man in his mid 20's. Possibly his, possibly not. I'm indifferent about who's who. Only interested in how the two children warmed my heart.

This is important to me........ because as I get older..... and some of peers as well, me included are jaded. I find myself Angry, upset and often bewildered by the actions I've taken due to the absence of instruction.

I'm just angry. Often angry. And........I catch myself searching for escapes. Television, men, TV shows and religion. But none of it is a valid device. It just does not do it for me anymore. I'm bored with people more easily then ever before, physically I feel heavy and tired all the time.

Albeit in that moment witnessing these two living their little lives, I felt relived from the rubble and woes around me. Grounded, alive! I've been around children. Taken care of them and felt a love for them. I think it may be my biological clock happening. When looking at babies, infants I feel the fever of them crawling into my chest, throbbing and pimping. Head aching and intense weakling feeling; love is there. It's scary to me to feel love that's that intense. When I don’t even feel that way for myself half the time.

I honestly don't care who knows or who feels what about my opinions of others and myself. It's how I feel. It's how I am.

700 Palestinians were killed in the last 24 hours and the airstrikes are more violent each night. Gaza's hospitals have fuel left for two more days. Israel only allowed aid into Gaza on the condition they didn't carry fuel. The Indonesian hospital has shut down already, because doctors have no supplies and no choice but to let the wounded die. They're calling it a collapse but the term doesn't do it justice.

Over a 100 incubator babies are at risk. There are 50.000 pregnant women in Gaza right now, and 5.500 due to give birth this month. Menstruating people are taking pills in order to stop their periods, because they do not have pads or water to maintain hygiene. Surgeons are operating without anesthesia. Water is not reaching Gazans because there's no electricity or fuel for water pumps.

There's no excuse for this. Israel justifies the airstrikes by saying they want to destroy Hamas infrastructure and release the hostages, but they have refused to negotiate for their release. Hamas informed Israel they wanted to release two elderly women without anything in return, and Israel refused. Netanyahu said they wouldn't take their own civilians back because it was "mendacious propaganda." When the hostages were finally released, Netanyahu prohibited the hospital from giving press releases. Yocheved Lifshitz went behind their backs and talked to the press anyway, saying she was treated very well by Hamas, but the government abandoned them. They're being used as straw men. Israel is conditioning the entry of fuel to the release of hostages and yet, according to The Wall Street Journal, when Hamas proposed to exchange 50 hostages for fuel they denied. IDF officials have said they fear the release of more hostages because that might withhold the order to their ground invasion. They do not care as long as they can use the hostages as a pretext for their slaughtering.

There's a turning tide for Palestine in public support. Support for Israel was built through decades of propaganda and we are making a dent into it. Zionists are desperate, holding zoom meetings to promote zionism, but we have to do so much more. We have to shame people in power into supporting the Palestinian cause.

Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices, looking to inform yourself from the sources. Palestinians have asked of us only that we share, tweet and post, over and over. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Here are some resources:

Anadolu Agency

Boycott Divest Sanction Movement

Palestinian Youth Movement

Mohammed El-Kurd (twitter / instagram)

Al-Shabaka (twitter / instagram)

Mariam Barghouti (twitter / instagram)

Muhammad Shehada (twitter)

Motaz Azaiza (instagram) - reporting directly from Gaza

Take action. You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting (don't be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. Only boycott additional brands if you can):

Carrefour

HP

Puma

Sabra

Sodastream

Ahava cosmetics

Israeli fruits and vegetables

Push for a cultural boycott - pressure your favorite artist to speak out on Palestine and cancel any upcoming performances on occupied territory (Lorde cancelled her gig in Israel because of this. It works.)

If you can, participate in direct action or donate. Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London. Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.

Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.

Buy e-sims for Gazans

To keep Gazans connected through these telecomms blackouts, activists have arranged for distributing free e-SIMs to people in Gaza. Anyone can buy an e-SIM and send the activation code (usually a QR code) to Mirna el Helbawi who is coordinating distribution.

Instructions from here

1. Go to https://getnomad.app/. click on the menu in the top right-hand side, and click on Shop Plans then Data

2. Go to Regional Plans and select “Middle East” (people are reporting that this option has been removed, so if you don’t find it, either seect “Global” or search “Israel” in the search bar at the top of the page, and select that)

3. Choose a plan, agree to terms, and pay

4. Wait for an email with a QR code

5. Save the QR code image or screenshot it, and email it to gazaesims@gmail.com

This is just one possible service. (Note that you may have seen posts about Simly which partnered and raised donations to give out free e-SIMS but they have asked for donations to stop as they raised $70k in a day and needed to figure out allocation.)

Israel has started putting out loads of "evidence" that the Hamas headquarters are below the Al-Shifa hospital.

Their "evidence" is a CGI video that they made themselves showing the whole hospital and then zooming in and going below ground to show a sprawling, multi-level "headquarters" with little CGI-people with guns roaming around on metal platforms and such. Here's the link to Netan-fuck-you's twitter, and the video. 50/50 odds on it vanishing within 24 hours, so if anyone wants to embed the video into a reblog of this post in order to preserve it in all its bullshit glory, please do.

Their second piece of evidence is a phone call recording where the two people are "overheard" saying THEE most obvious script I've ever heard in my life, which basically amounts to "Well you know how the headquarters of Hamas are under the Al-Shifa hospital?" "The headquarters of Hamas are under the Al-Shifa hospital?" "Yeah, the headquarters of Hamas are under the Al-Shifa hospital." It's literally that badly done. I can't now find the video of it, but if someone has it, pls link it. The version I saw was shared by SkyNews (🤮)

Make no mistake. This is israel getting ahead of the global narrative. This is Israel justifying their bombing of a hospital before they do it.

They bombed the Al-Ahli hospital, and the world responded with an enormous wave of outrage and recriminations, so Israel immediately tried to claim that Hamas did it, and then they said that actually no, it was Palestinian Jihadists (who don't even operate out of Gaza; they're all based in the West Bank).

They know full well that if they bombed another hospital, they wouldn't be able to claim it was Hamas/PJ.

So now they're laying all this groundwork, disseminating blatantly falsified "evidence" of a sprawling secret terrorist bunker hidden beneath the main hospital in Gaza, where its estimated that 50,000 people are sheltering.

Israel has succeeded in completely cutting off almost all of Gazas communications. Al Jazeera has managed to make contact with one correspondent they have on the ground via satellite connection, but their contact with him has been extremely spotty. People in Gaza cannot call emergency services or upload images/footage to twitter or anything. They are completely and utterly dark, and this is absolutely by design on Israel's part.

If Al-Shifa hospital is still standing by this time tomorrow, I will be shocked.

Israel is laying the groundwork now so that when they level the hospital and kill every single person inside it, the public will justify it for them. "Yeah but Hamas had a huge headquarters underneath," the public will say. "It's not Israel's fault that Hamas hiding underneath hospitals," they'll say. "Israel's just trying to root out Hamas! It's awful that so many civilians died, but that's what happens when terrorists use civilians as shields" they'll say, as though killing a human shield in order to get to the bad guy is acceptable literally anywhere in the world, much less when the "shields" amount to well over 7,000 civilians.

Do not fall for the propaganda. Do not allow Israel to bomb another hospital without forcing them to fave the backlash for it (even if they didn't do Al-Ahli, they've attacked hospitals and health centres repeatedly in the past). Do not let your country's politicians justify the slaughter of a hospital full of civilians just to get at the (alleged!!) terrorist base below. Do not let your colleagues or friends or family justify the razing of a hospital full of innocent men, women, and children.

We can't do much to stop them, but by fuck can we do everything in our power to make sure they don't get away with it.

Israel Has Started Putting Out Loads Of "evidence" That The Hamas Headquarters Are Below The Al-Shifa
Israel Has Started Putting Out Loads Of "evidence" That The Hamas Headquarters Are Below The Al-Shifa

[Image IDs: the first is a tweet by Netanyahu, saying Hamas-ISIS is sick. They turn hospitals into headquarters for their terror. We just released intelligence proving it." This is followed by a video, which the at the time of the screenshot was showing a CGI version of the hospital. Image 2 is the same, but the video was screenshotted as it shows the CGI "lair" of hamas that's allegedly below the hospital; a multi-storey industrial-looking space with armed soldiers walking along suspended platforms. Image three is a tweet by @HenMazzig that says "BREAKING: it's now confirmed that Hamas's operational headquarters is stationed below the Al Shifa hospital - Gaza's main hospital." This is followed by an image screenshotted from Netanyahu's bullshit video, this time showing an aerial shot of the hospital amidst the debris of the almost completely destroyed neighbouring suburb.]

celebrities supporting "Israel" + celebrities supporting Palestine

I found an absolutely massive 70-page list of all the people in Hollywood who've supported "Israel" (they signed the “Israel Must Defend Itself” pro-genocide IOF letter, showed support only for Israel, spread IOF propaganda, used “Palestinians are terrorists” language, etc) — but it included tons of people I've never heard of and, like, talent agents and lawyers and non-celebrities... so I went through it and got all the recognizable names + made them into a list (below the cut), because it's important to name exactly who's supporting Israel's genocide of Palestinians.

[EDIT: the doc got taken down, so I removed the link. I included every name I recognized on there in this post. Also, if you're on your dashboard, click on the timestamp below my username to view the most recent version of the post.]

Additionally, I searched for all the celebrities who've supported Palestine (not liking one post while sharing nothing, not saying something vague about both sides, but actually using language like "genocide" and "apartheid" while talking about what "Israel" is doing to Palestine), and that's below the cut too.

I compiled this not to ~cancel~ anyone (cancel culture does not exist for celebrities) or put anyone on a pedestal, but to document who with power and influence gleefully cheered on genocide, and who decided to speak out against it despite the heavily rumored gag order in the entertainment industry. You shouldn't look to celebrities for morals or politics, but whether we like it or not, these people have millions of followers — the pro-"Israel" list has more than two billion combined followers. What they say and do matters because of that scope. For better or (usually) for worse, celebrities influence public opinion.

If someone praises "Israel's" "right to defend itself" (by committing genocide against Palestinians), and they do so in front of 300 million people: that goes far beyond just being complicit.

PRO-"ISRAEL":

(I tried to include big names + people I know are popular on Tumblr)

IOF Letter = they signed the letter in support of “Israel” and their military, saying “Israel” must defend itself by any means necessary against this “unprovoked” attack, and using language that suggests all Palestinians are Hamas/“terrorists” and that all civilian casualties are worth it. SOURCE FOR WHO SIGNED IT. Link includes more names; I only included the ones I recognized.

NOTE: “Israel’s” military calls itself the IDF — the “Israeli” Defense Forces. However, Palestinians and human rights activists call it the IOF, the “Israeli” Offense Forces, because they are attacking civilians and committing genocide, not defending anything (besides American imperialism and Zionist supremacy). Additionally, many choose to put “Israel” in quotes, because “Israel” is not a real country — unless you agree with settler colonialism, of course.

Biden letter = they signed the letter addressed to Biden, saying they are AGAINST a ceasefire, telling Biden that he’s doing a great job helping “Israel” with this whole situation, and asking for Biden to make sure there are “no hostages left behind” in Gaza (something he would have no control over, especially if “Israel” continues bombing Gaza, which this letter says they want). SOURCE FOR WHO SIGNED IT, and here’s why this letter is so bad (in the thread) — links have more names; I only included the ones I recognized.

(alphabetical by surname)

Paula Abdul — Zionist who promotes “Israeli” tourism in Occupied Palestine

Jaimie Alexander (Thor movies) — sharing pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine, raised money for Birthright Israel Foundation

Gillian Anderson (X Files) — said she pulled out of an event specifically because the person running it said “Israel” is committing war crimes

Eric Andre — Biden letter

Judd Apatow — Biden letter

Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) — Biden letter

Jessica Beil — Biden letter

Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars) — pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine

Mayim Bialik (Big Bang Theory, Jeopardy) — IOF letter, Biden letter, proud self-described Zionist

Justin Bieber — shared a picture of Gaza in ruins with “Pray for Israel” and deleted it without a word when people pointed out it was Palestine, pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine

Jack Black — Biden letter, also supports Autism Speaks and has raised millions for them

Selma Blair — made IG posts spreading Zionist propaganda including saying that Hamas beheaded babies (sharing this AFTER Western news debunked it and “Israel” said they couldn’t prove it, and then nothing about it being redacted [her post is still up as of 10/26] and of course nothing about Palestine)

Orlando Bloom — Biden letter, commented "❤️❤️❤️" on one of Amy Schumer's unhinged posts

Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) — IOF letter

Scooter Braun — Biden letter

Alison Brie (Community) — pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine

Josh Brolin — Biden letter

Nathaniel Buzolic (The Vampire Diaries) — many pro-“Israel” and pro-IOF posts, including saying: “Those who support Palestinains are the devil”

Charisma Carpenter — pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine

Jimmy Carr — Biden letter

Gemma Chan — shared “both sides are bad!!” posts

Kristen Chenowith — Biden letter

Dane Dehaan — pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine

Laura Dern — Biden letter

Zooey Deschanel — liked pro-“Israel” posts

Zoey Deutch — openly denying the Nakba, genocide denial, saying “Israel” can do anything they want to “terrorists,” etc

Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) — Biden letter

Michael Douglas — IOF letter

Fran Drescher — proud Zionist, raised money for the IOF

Neil Druckmann (co-creator of The Last of Us, Uncharted) — Biden letter, shared a lot of aggressively pro-genocide posts; also: read about how The Last of Us Part II video game is pro-“Israel” propaganda

Kirsten Dunst — Biden letter

Chris Evans — starred in an Israeli propaganda film, went on a press tour around IOF military bases where he autographed missiles

Dakota Fanning — pro-“Israel” posts and nothing about Palestine

The letter said: "Half of Gaza's two million residents are children, and more than two thirds are refugees and their descendants being forced to flee their homes. […] As of this writing more than 6,000 bombs have been dropped on Gaza in the last 12 days — resulting in one child being killed every 15 minutes. Children and families in Gaza have practically run out of food, water, electricity, medicine and safe access to hospitals, following days of air strikes and cuts to all supply routes. We call for an end to the support provided by global powers to Israel and its military; especially the United States, which now provides Israel $3.8 billion annually without condition. We ask all people of conscience to exercise their agency to help dismantle the apartheid regime of our time. We ask governments that are enabling this crime against humanity to apply sanctions, to mobilize levers of international accountability, and to cut trade, economic and cultural relations.  We call on activists, and especially our peers in the arts, to exercise their agency within their institutions and localities to support the Palestinian struggle for decolonization to the best of their ability. Please add more if you know of any, but NOT if it's something along the lines of them just liking a post or trying to say both sides are bad. Please also include what they said/shared — now is the time when speaking out is most important.

Feel free to add any pro-"Israel" people as well. I'm keeping an eye on the notes and will update it.

HOW TO HELP:

US and Canada residents: find a protest near you here

How to protest safely

Contact your reps and tell them you will not vote for anyone who approves of genocide

US residents: Download the free app “5 Calls” and set your zip code, and it will give you the phone numbers of your representatives, as well as a script for what to say to encourage them to de-escalate and vote for a ceasefire

Via yurgir: if you're european, you can go to this site, click on your country at the top bar, and it will tell you how to reach your representatives and also provides an already written script which you can simply copy and paste. alternatively, this google doc also provides scripts for different countries.

BOYCOTT THESE COMPANIES — THIS IS ALREADY WORKING AND AFFECTING THEIR STOCKS

MAIN COMPANIES BEING BOYCOTTED: McDonalds (giving free food to the IOF), Starbucks (suing their union for being pro-Palestine), Disney (pledged $2M to the IOF)

combat propaganda online, in person, or even by just having a conversation with one person — do not underestimate the power of word of mouth. tell everyone you know how you feel about Palestine; don't just read about it and despair while doing nothing. being on the right side of history has never been popular or easy.

Continue spreading Palestinian voices. Do not stop sharing voices from Palestine.

Haymarket Books is currently giving away the ebook for "Palestine: A Socialist Introduction" for free

support Palestinian art, cuisine, businesses, and culture — Shop Palestine, Al’Ard Palestinian products, Palestinian recipes from Mariam, a Palestinian home cook in diaspora, etc

Palestinian literature: Poems from Palestine, Introduction to Palestinian literature — novels, non-fiction, and poetry

US residents: Tell Congress to Stop the Gaza Genocide

UK residents: Tell the UK government to Protect Palestinians and Healthcare Workers

Decolonize Palestine: Palestine 101

Eye on Palestine

Times of Gaza

Middle East Eye

Donate to Lebanese and Syrian funds or Palestinians in diaspora if you really feel like giving money, but know that nothing will reach the people in Palestine until the blockade ends — and we can end it if enough of us pressure international politicians, particularly in the US, France, the UK, Canada, etc.

Hasan, a Turkish political Twitch streamer, has set up a donation page to raise money for Palestine, which includes:

American Near East Refugee Aid (Anera)

The PCRF (Palestine Children's Relief Fund)

Medical Aid Pal (MAP)

Palestine RCS

While the goal has been met (488k out of 250k), you can still donate to either the Tiltify page or individually to these organizations. These organizations provide food, water, medical supplies and other necessities, on the ground for Palestinians.
