Oh my God! Mythology AU Know your gods
A/N: This is an avenger x reader. English is not my native language so I apologize for any mistake. Italics mean that the character is thinking. The Marvel characters belong to Marvel, the gifs and images belong to their owners, I only own the plot.

Gods in order of appearance pt2:
Ares
James Buchanan Barnes, also known as Bucky. One of the twelve Olympians. God of war and violence, he’s the embodiment of courage and is considered a danger in the battlefield: insatiable, unstoppable, destructive and man-slaughtering.
Symbols:
Sword, spear, shield, helmet, chariot, flaming torch, dog, boar and vulture.
Represented as:
Muscled white male. Depicted with short hair, usually wearing a helmet, and with a sword, a spear or a shield. Most of his sculptures are naked (much to some one’s joy…).
True physical appearance:
Huge man, with a metal arm (his flesh one lost in a fight alongside Athena). Has light skin, bulging muscles and thick thighs. His jawline is strong, usually sporting a slight stubble. He has kind steel-blue eyes (that let you know where home is), framed by long and shiny brown locks, that he pulls up in a half-bun when fighting.
You can find him wearing long sleeved robes, usually dark colors, but sometimes he will put on some red ones. You can spot him wearing dark clothes in battle, but with one sleeve missing (the one that would be covering his metal arm).
Personality:
He has been through much, being the god of war and all. In his younger years he had a similar personality to Hermes, but with time and suffering that changed. He’s more closed off now; you can find him brooding in some corner.
Apart from that, he is a sweetheart. As well as Athena, he can seem scary and tough on the outside, but is a big softie on the inside. He is touch-starved and a bit broken, but will do anything for his loved ones (inside he is still that child that kicked the ass of anyone that dared to hit Athena). “He is a jerk, but he’s my jerk, and I love him”-Athena.
The past still lingers around him, dragging him down sometimes and making him isolate himself for fear of hurting others. He just needs someone to love him and make him smile (Athena assuming that position many times). “He does not smile much”- Apollo. “But when he does, he has a nice smile”- Artemis. “I’ll admit it; he’s not bad-looking. Still, I’m more handsome”-Hephaestus. “Yes, about a 12% more”- Hera.
Relationships:
ATHENA. “Don’t do anything stupid until I get back”-Ares. “How can I? You’re taking all the stupid with you”- Athena. “You’re a punk”-Ares. “Jerk. Be careful, and don’t win the war till I get there.”- Athena.
Has a complicated relationship with Aeolus (they like each other, but will never tell a soul). “Can you move your seat up?”- Ares. “No”- Aeolus.
He does not live in Mount Olympus all the time because of the wars, so he does not have a strong friendship with many of the gods, but gets along just fine. “Good morning Barnes, how are you feeling?”- Angelos “Good, thanks.”-Ares. “Come, much more for you to learn”- Angelos.
Romantic interest: “That’s none of your business.”-Ares.
Hermes
Pietro Django Maximoff. One of the twelve Olympians. God of boundaries, roads and travelers, commerce, thieves, athletes and shepherds. Also he is the messenger of the gods.
Symbols:
Talaria (winged sandals), caduceus (winged staff with snakes), tortoise, lyre, rooster and petasos (winged helmet).
Represented as:
White young male figure. Lean man with short curly hair. Usually nude, only wearing the talaria, petasos and holding the caduceus.
True physical appearance:
Young eastern European male. Lean figure with strong legs used to run miles at fast speeds. Blonde hair with darker roots, blue eyes and short facial hair, close in color with the roots of the hair.
Hermes, like in the sculptures that humans have made of him, likes to walk around nude. However, he has been convinced (forced by Circe) to put on clothes. He’s seen usually in white and gold robes, but also likes grey and dark blue ones. “I like to feel free when I run”- Hermes. “You will stop parading around naked and winking at the muses RIGHT NOW”-Circe.
Personality:
Highly confident on himself and his appearance. Has virtually no shame. Easy to distract, hates have to be quiet and wait. Enjoys flirting a tad too much, and has been in trouble because of it (namely, for flirting with Angelos and Bia, Dolos however entertained him for a bit). It is because of this that he gives very useful tips for flirting with the gods. “When flirting with Bia, always put on flying sandals, she does not appreciate your so called smoothness and will send you soaring the skies”- Hermes.
Overlooking these tendencies, Hermes is a very good boy. He will help you in anything he can, will try to make laugh if you are sad, will take you flying with his sandals and gossip with you about the other olympians. “He spends too much time with my nymphs”- Poseidon.
Relationships:
Twin brother of Circe, Hermes is the opposite of her. Anxious and impatient, you will always see him speeding from place to place. But if you are able to stop him, he will tell you that he is running some errands for the other gods.
He likes everyone, and almost everyone likes him. The relationship between him and Apollo is a bit more tense, mainly because of the pranks that Hermes pulls on the elder god. He takes pleasure on them. Apollo not so much. “You didn’t see that coming?”-Hermes.
Even though he likes to flirt around, Circe is the only really important woman in his life so far. They are extremely close. “I swear that they can communicate through their minds”- Artemis.
Romantic interest: EVERYONE.
Aeolus
Samuel Thomas Wilson. God of the winds. Also known as “Keeper of the winds”.
Symbols:
Unknown.
Represented as:
White, long haired, and long bearded man. Usually naked and blowing gusts of wind.
True physical appearance:
Tall, muscled, black man, with broad chest, strong legs (of which he’s very proud of) and very short black hair. He also has dark brown eyes and likes to grow a little of facial hair.
Aeolus enjoys light colors, being seen with many light grey or green clothes. He favors robes that are thigh and leave his arms in full sight, to which he justifies are fitted for flying. “He just likes to show off”- Hephaestus. “Unfruitful effort, everyone is looking at me anyways”- Hermes.
Personality:
Aeolus is one of the gods that gives a total erroneous first impression. The first time you meet him, you’ll see a tall dark man with a permanent scowl and crossed arms. However, this changes radically in the next five minutes. He goes from scary to crazy. He is the funniest and most fun-loving god (and the loudest). He will ALWAYS make you laugh even if you are sad, especially at the most inappropriate times. “Even though he always tries to flirt with me, he is a real joy to be around”- Artemis.
He enjoys being a storyteller and will entertain you with his crazy and hilarious stories, that he swears that are completely true but that are so insane that make you question them. “He once made me laugh so much that I couldn’t stop crying. Now Greece has two new rivers.”-Poseidon.
As well as Hermes, Aeolus is a flirt. He will try and talk you to bed, but he knows his boundaries much better than the young god. He knows who is off limits and who is better to leave alone. However, that does not stop him from trying to sweep unsuspecting women off their feet. “Leave my nymphs ALONE!”-Poseidon.
Apart from that, he is an extremely loyal friend, very caring and protective. Most of the times he acts as the voice of reason between the bunch of the Olympian gods, calling them out on their impulsive acts. “Just like that we’re supposed to be cool?”-Aeolus.
Relationships:
He is friends with literally everyone. Well. ALMOST everyone. His closest friend is Athena, but, ironically, has a frenemies relationship with Ares. They act like they hate each other, always pestering and throwing shade at the other (exasperating Athena, and competing for his love). Only when Pan appears on the scene, the two (idiots) gods join forces against the young god (the poor little sweet thing). “Pan, just keep it down, man. DAMN. You can’t even eat, he over here yapping!”- Aeolus. “He is problematic”-Ares.
Romantic interest: Unrequited attraction towards Artemis.
Since they made Aeolus have a femenine voice but still refer to him as a god leads me to two possibilities in my head: trans man or non binary. No matter what, he slays and is my favorite part of the song.
How did the winds agreed to be shoved in a bag? Did Aeolus just said: I'm not paying you wage, if you don't enter this bad?

I do think that they are glorious and amazing and mesmerizing but I just never ended up watching any for epic I guess
BUT I did happen to watch an animatic of keep your friends closer by Gigi and I ADORED IT
The way Aeolus was just being playful and floating around on her little cloud kakskkssn and also Ody in general, his expressions and his face I just really really liked his design
( I feel like you might know a bit more than me about animatics so can I ask you what I should watch ? I feel like I'm missing out now hahha )

Heyyo I have another post and this one is my design for Aeolus and the Winions.
So Aelous is based off of a clouded leopard hence the cloudy spots (Also got super lazy with those that's why they only have 3 lol) and uh cloud tail and hair because wind/sky god you know.
And the Winions welp I was inspired to make them Black-Footed cats by this one line "Sometimes killing is a must!" and since Black-footed cats are the deadliest in the world with a successful hunt rate of 60% and are very smol itty bitties it only made sense to make the Winions black footed cats.
