It's like we all collectively forgot as a society that friendship and just connection in general takes effort. Even if you meet someone you immediately click with, it takes hanging out about 20 times (!) to become friends. And guess what, some of those 20 meetings might be awkward or unimpressive.
We all want to reap the benefits (having a friend circle, having a partner, getting married) without doing the work (going to events, interacting with people, learning to handle conflict maturely, dating). Myself included. If I could, I'd never leave the house or go on another mediocre date again... except, that's part of the process.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, the cure to the loneliness epidemic is touching some grass and building tolerance for tedious in-person interactions.
I just want you all to know that there is life beyond your eating disorder. There is hope.
Your life will not always be numbers, body checks, obsessing over every little detail, binges or restriction, pain and suffering. I know it can feel like your ed is your home, who you should be, who you are. But it's not.
It may feel like you've lost yourself (or you've found yourself within this disorder), but I can promise you that you WILL find the real you again. You were not put on this earth to be sick. That is not your purpose in life.
It could feel like without this, there's nothing to you, that this is the only thing you can do right. It's not. There are so many wonderful things that make you you, and one of them is not your eating disorder.
In a weird way, it's kind of comforting, isn't it? It always trips me up to think about, but sometimes it feels like coming home after a long day and being able to drop your bags. But the thing is, there's no comfort to it at all. Our disorders are fantastic liars, and they've tricked us into think we need it, that without it, we're just a shell of a person. You don't need it, you've never needed it, and like I said previously, this disorder is not what makes you who you are. You do. Not anorexia, b.e.d, bulimia, orthorexia, or ednos.
You deserve a life not centered around food and the rules you've created. You deserve to be able to think about other things. To enjoy life again. Please don't let your ed tell you any differently.
Please reach out if you need someone to talk to or if you'd like to send an ask. I wish you all nothing but the best âĄ
Ear care â the most unspoken body care.
- ear care if one of the most neglected and overlooked body care it is as important as your face routine. Each and every, part of your body needs attention and care đ«¶, and my desi babies if you really want to slay those jhumkes you really need to take care of your ear. Anyways let's get started.
1. Cleaning : Clean your outer ear gently with a washcloth. Avoid inserting anything into your ear canal, such as cotton swabs or other objects, as this can push wax deeper or even cause damage.
2. Earwax Management : Let your ears naturally clean themselves. Earwax helps protect your ears from dust, dirt, and bacteria. Do not use eard buds DO. NOT. Baby girlies please don't it can cause problems in hearing and affect your eardrum.
If you have excessive earwax buildup that causes discomfort or affects your hearing, consult a doctor for safe removal.
3. Protection: Wear ear protection in noisy environments, such as concerts, construction sites, or when using loud equipment like lawnmowers or power tools. Earplugs or earmuffs can help prevent hearing damage.
4. Avoiding Water : Keep water out of your ears while bathing, swimming, or showering. Use earplugs or a shower cap to protect your ears, especially if you've had ear surgery or have a history of ear infections.
5. Electronic devices : use airpods, earphones or headphone max 3 hours not more than that and always keep the volume at the adequate level in order not to affect your ear and brain.
6. Regular Check-ups : Visit an audiologist or healthcare professional for regular ear check-ups, especially if you experience changes in hearing, ear pain, or other ear-related issues.
7. Healthy Lifestyle : Maintain a healthy lifestyle, as conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes can impact your ear health. Stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, and manage stress levels.
Taking these simple steps can help keep your ears healthy and functioning well. đ«¶

in case you need to hear this
workout because its good for your heart, lungs, releases endorphins, and you want to get stronger. not because itâll make you skinny or make your body look a certain way.
wear sunscreen every day in order to protect yourself from easily preventable and deadly skin cancer, not with the goal of preventing aging (there is nothing wrong with aging or wrinkles; it is a natural part of life and reflection of the life you live).
eat more vegetables because you need the fiber to make you more regular, they help lower your risk of eye and digestive problems, and they help in nutrient re-uptake. not because eating only carbs is âbadâ for you. you need a combination of carbs, fruit/veg, protein, fiber, fat, etc for a full balanced diet.Â
cut out dairy from your diet if it makes you shit your brains out every single time without fail, not because it will âmake you fatâ.
drink more water because, despite how annoying it is to be told âjust drink waterâ, it does actually make you feel better if youâre anxious or your head hurts or you donât have any energy. not because itâll âflush out your immune system uwuâ or it will make your skin clear.
drink green tea because its delicious, not because itâs a ânatural detoxâ. ( âdetoxesâ arenât real. your kidneys detoxify your blood for you)
not everything ânaturalâ is automatically healthy for you. not everything âunnaturalâ is automatically unhealthy/dangerous
cutting out whole food groups and labeling them as âbad for youâ in any form is restrictive. if you arenât allergic to gluten, you donât need to cut gluten from your diet in order to be healthy. if you were not specifically instructed by a doctor to go keto in order to aid treatment for a disease (such as cancer or epilepsy), you do not and should not go keto.Â
do âhealthyâ things because you deserve to live a long, healthy life. yes, you. your weight doesnât matter and it has never mattered. you deserve to keep yourself safe.Â
