Mors Sunnin
Anala Sunnin
When most here about the second star to the right, they always think of a magical land full of wonder and mystery. Of fairies, and joyous feelings. This star wasn’t only in the sky, it was also a boy.
A boy created by the gods of old and new. Gods of earth, sea and sky. He was an immortal being of many forms, as well as great power to move mountains and seas. The main purpose for his creation, however, to guide those to their endings, no matter the cost. This boy’s name was Y/n.
His creation was one of bright, warm light and love. However, that love would only be given to those he would grow close too and not himself. It would be a future struggle later in his life. Once the world was ready for his birth, Zeus cleared the clouds as Artemis and Hera gently brought the child into a woodland clearing.
Y/n had no parents, well, none that were present that is. The gods and goddesses in the sky never made themselves present to the boy, as they thought it would be too much for him. Only when Y/n had encountered the first person that needed to be guided would he know of his roots to godhood.
Y/n was created to look like a 5-year-old, and he stayed in that clearing for a hundred years. Surrounded by wildlife, Y/n made friends with the birds and the deer. He found companions in even the tiniest of creatures. The deer would bring him food, and the bears would fish with him. He only ever wore a white tunic with a similar fabric pants.
They were often covered in grass stains and mud, since the boy was very playful in an environment full of nature. He was considered the king of the forest, though that title was only known amongst the critters.
He was even looked after by the strong dragons from afar. Most were curious why this boy was here, and what his purpose was.
Many a mythical creature took interest in the child, from dragons to the first of the fairy generations. They would trade for the curious boy’s attention and spend any and all time with him.
Y/n soon had dragon and fae parents looking after him for those hundred years before he was discovered by humanity.
Y/n never felt a need to eat, but the ones he called parents fed him fruits the most. Meat was a rare cuisine Y/n would consume due to his critter friends, but he would later learn otherwise. The boy often found himself eating flowers, like roses. Just picked roses, and even if they didn't taste like anything, it was something he loved. He was recommended the roses by the small bunnies.
As the time went on, Y/n saw the world around him change. He saw the seasons fade, bloom and fade once more. He saw the creatures he loved grow old, have their family, and watch that family grow old.
This cycle was something he became familiar with. It was a cycle Y/n grew to hate, but appreciated the brining of new life and new friends that came along. Y/n had asked the dragons and fae folk that he had loved why this happened.
Many knew the answer quite well, and it was those who had brought the seasons along for generations. One of the fae spoke.
“Y/n, sweetie, this cycle happens to bring new changes to the world.”
Y/n stared back at the fairy dressed in petals.
“I don’t want things to change! I want them the way they are!”
The fairy understood Y/n’s upset feelings. She had guided the small boy to a bed of baby flowers. Y/n was in shock at how pretty it was in this secluded area. Y/n knelt down as the small fairy fluttered to show him the little buds.
“You see Y/n, if change didn’t happen then these beautiful roses would be stuck in these rosebuds. Cursed to never bloom and share their beauty with the world. It’s the very same with all the creatures that surround you. Change doesn’t stop there, for there is change in you too It is not something that can be stopped, but something to embrace.”
Y/n nodded, sort of understanding what his fairy friend meant. However, he still didn’t quite like change and leaving things behind, only with his memory to keep everything alive. Even though his physic didn't change, his mind did.
The 100th year of being in that forest had dawned and ended, and Y/n was left in the snow all on his own. No one to go too other than the trees that were bare. Winter was a very lonely, since all creatures alike hibernated. Y/n tried it himself, but it was a lifestyle he could not sustain.
Y/n laid in the cold snow under a tree where he met all the friends of his past, the snow molding his body shape. He dozed off watching the clear blue sky. A few short minutes after, the h/c boy woke up to the soft shaking of his arm.
Y/n jumped up in panic and started quickly shifting into different fighting poses. His e/c eyes landed on a boy who was as tall as Y/n. This boy was seemingly the same age as Y/n, well physically looking they looked the same age. The boy giggled, seeing Y/n’s confused face. The boy spoke up.
“Why are you sitting out in the snow? You’ll get sick!”
Y/n looked very confused. He didn’t understand what this creature meant. Y/n looked at the boy.
“No I won’t. And who are you to say? You’re out here too, so you’ll get sick.”
The boy giggled softly. This confused Y/n. He didn’t understand anything from this creature that stood in front of him. Y/n looked down to see this creature walking on two legs; it made him quite curious. None of the animals or creatures he was around ever walked on two legs; none of them looked like Y/n did.
“What are you?”
The boy looked confused. What did this h/c boy mean?
“Don’t you mean ‘Who are you’?”
Y/n shook his head, confusing the creature in front of him.
“No, I mean what are you.”
“I’m a person!”
Y/n seemed confused. He heard of creatures that looked like him, but it was mostly the fairies the looked like him. They were just smaller than he was. The dragons had spoke of things called humans, and only ever described them to look like Y/n. That was only once or twice, and one of those times was when Y/n got confused for one.
“What is a person?”
The boy giggled again, finding this behavior cute and quite funny. How could this boy in front of him not know what a person was?
“It’s what I am, and you’re one too.”
Y/n was left confused again. He was unsure of what to say, but he didn’t need to say anything. The boy with black hair did all the talking.
“My name is Mors! Mors Sunnin! What's yours?”
“Y/n.”
Mors looked confused again. However, a gust of wind interrupted the two with a bitter cold following it. Mors grabbed Y/n with his gloved one, and led him to a wooden house near the forest they exited from. Inside was a seating area with a few books scattered around, a fireplace with a bright blazing fire radiating its heat through the halls, and a small kitchen where a woman with fire red hair stood.
“Are you back so soon, Mors? I surely thought you would have spent more time outside.”
The woman turned around with bright emerald eyes staring into e/c ones. The woman’s face softened into a smile as she looked at her son.
“Oh Mors, who is this cutie?”
The woman knelt down to the level of the two boys. Mors beamed with happiness as he still held Y/n’s s/c hand.
“This is my new friend! His name is Y/n! Y/n, this is my mom!”
Y/n was confused again, and it visibly showed. Mors mom brought her hand to gently ruffled his h/c hair.
“My name is Anala. It's wonderful to meet you, sweetie.”
Y/n nodded as if sharing the same feelings. All his thoughts were a flurry of confusion and curiosity. Mors dragged Y/n all around the small cottage, showing all of his favorite things and the hiding places that Mors found.
Mors usually used these hiding places as a safe place whenever he was home alone or when something scary happened. Mors also taught so many things to Y/n that he didn't understand. Mors explained what he could about civilization and what humans were.
However, since this information was coming from a child, it was hard to tell what was truth and what was just made up nonsense. About a week later, Y/n had met Mors father. It was an odd meeting to say the least.

OC FACE CLAIMS (The following pictures aren't mine):
Kai
It was lightly snowing, even though it had piled up over the evening. A man with pitch black hair, dressed in a very formal uniform, had walked up to the cabin on the hill that overlooked the town in the distance. Upon entering, the man was met with the sight of his child and another boy playing on the floor.
His child seemed excited and jumped up with no hesitation to hug his father. However, this man’s black eyes fell onto the h/c haired boy. His curiosity seemed easy to notice, since his child spoke up.
“What’s wrong father?”
Y/n looked up at the man and Mors. He stood up, a bit anxious about the new person. It was clear to both Mors and his father about the boy’s feeling. Mors walked to Y/n and grabbed his hand.
"Who is this Mors?"
This man's tone was harsh, filled with anxiety on whom this could be. He didn't trust anyone, because of his job as a royal knight. That’s why he stationed his family far out of town. His mind was racing with a thousand thoughts, concern filling his heart for his family.
Y/n cowered under this man's harsh stare. It was odd for him to be like this. He never cowered under anyone, and he met some of the meanest looking dragons out there. But this was different. He didn’t know why, but it was.
Mors noticed this and took quick action to introduce the two as a way to ease the tension.
“Father, this is Y/n! He’s my best friend! Y/n this is my father!”
Mors’ father was still quite anxious of the boy that stood before him. Suddenly, another figure appeared out of the shadows.
“Oh my dear! You’re finally home!”
Anala walked up to the man and hugged him tightly. All anxiety harboring this man’s heart washed away. The aura of the room was slowly eased. Anala however could still sense the anxiety that plagued her dear husband.
“What’s wrong dearest?”
Her husband pointed to the child that held his son’s hand. Anala followed the hand her husband held, noticing it fell upon Y/n.
“Oh! This is Y/n! Mors’ new friend! He really is a sweetheart. Y/n, this is Kai, my husband.”
Y/n nodded, showing he understood Anala. Mors hugged Y/n one last time before scurrying to his father to hug and talk with him.
Anala pulled Y/n into the kitchen, insisting that she needed help from the boy. Y/n didn't like being away from Mors, but it was hard to deny Anala. She was very persistent when she wanted something.
Y/n stood on a wooden stool, so he could reach the counter. Anala pulled out a bowl and some ingredient she stored somewhere. Y/n and Anala baked together, as Mors and Kai sat in the living room talking with each other.
Anala turned to Y/n as she whisked the ingredients in her bowl. Y/n looked at her with curiosity haunting his gaze.
“You’re wondering why I wanted you to help me instead of Mors, aren’t you?”
Y/n’s eyes widened, his shock replacing all curiosity that harbored his soul. Anala handed Y/n the bowl as she continued to speak.
“I wanted to tell you a bit about Kai. I know he seems harsh and trust isn’t something he really has with anyone. But there’s a reason why, however it's not my place to tell you. I know you can show him how wonderful you are Y/n, just give him time to warm up to you.”
Y/n nodded, seeping in what Anala had said to him. He finished whisking, handing the bowl to Anala, so she could put whatever was being made in the oven. Based on the smell, it seemed like a sweet pastry, but Y/n couldn’t tell.
He only had cookies with Mors before and he loved them. Y/n had asked Anala once if he could add rose petals to the recipe. She seemed confused but promised when spring came she would try. Y/n walked off into the living room to see Mors sleeping on his father’s lap.
The blank stare of Kai made Y/n anxious, it confused Y/n so much. He didn’t understand why he was feeling this, he never felt this before. Kai’s fixed gaze on Y/n made the boy cower. However, Y/n stood his ground and sat down across from Kai.
If someone were to walk in on them, they would have mistaken it for a staring contest. Neither had yielded their gaze. Kai broke the uncomfortable silence when his voice declared.
“What is it you wish to get out of my family?”
Y/n’s head tilted in confusion. He didn’t understand what Kai was insisting. Kai sighed with annoyance, holding him in his seat. Kai didn’t want to attack the boy, but he knew that he wasn’t a normal child.
“You heard what I said.”
Kai’s voice was demanding. Y/n was becoming more and more timid as every second passed. He needed to form an answer, something, anything, just to keep Kai calm.
“I-I don’t wish to inflict any harm on your family.”
Kai’s complexion seemed to settle. Rather than the angered and annoyed face that graced his features, it was one of pity. He caught Y/n’s stutter, he decided to soften his tone.
“I’ve seen you before. Roaming the forest. I’ve seen you with the creatures and fae that harbor the forest, even the dragons seem to favor you. I only wish to know what your purpose is here.”
Y/n seemed to calm down after hearing what Kai shared. He tried to remember as far as he could, just to see if he remembered the man that sat before him. He studied every flashing instance of his life.
Then the one image of a man who was injured, covered with wounds and scars. Y/n remembered the healing spell he tried on the man that the dragons had taught him.
He remembered the week he spent tending to this man who came from a fight in the forest. Every single second Y/n remembered. Was this the man that was seated in front of him?
“You were injured that day, weren’t you? You had been separated from your friends, and you had these cuts all over you. I tried the best I could to help you! I promise! And I have no bad intentions here! Mors found me in the snow! He insisted I come in, and I’ve been here for about a week. Though time has lost all meaning to me…”
Kai’s eyes widened with each word Y/n spoke. His mind couldn’t believe that this boy was the one who saved him. He wasn’t even referring back to that far! Kai had seen this boy on several different occasions after that.
“How did you… That was over 15 years ago! I thought it was a fae that saved me! But it was you? What are you exactly?”
Kai was riddled with confusion and questions for this boy. It was apparent to Y/n, he took a breath in and sighed. He had no clue how to explain what he was. He didn’t even know for himself what he was.
“I… I don’t know exactly what I am. But I promise all I wish to do is to be friends with Mors and Anala! And maybe you! I-if you’re okay with that…”
Kai exhaled a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. This boy only had the purest intentions, even from the moment he met him. Kai set Mors to the side on the couch and walked to Y/n. He knelt to the boy's height and hugged him.
Tears pricked Kai’s raven eyes, Y/n was stunned. He wasn’t sure what to do in this situation. His body stiffened as Kai held the boy. Kai felt Y/n tense up and became slightly anxious with the lack of a response.
Kai backed away and raised a hand to his face, wiping the tears that graced his eyes. He muttered an apology and started to walk away to his bedroom. Y/n immediately shot up and hugged Kai back. Kai stumbled a bit as he held the boy.
“Thank you, Y/n.”
Y/n felt so overwhelmed, but it wasn’t like before. This overwhelming feeling was warm and oddly comforting. He would later learn that his is what love of a parent felt like.
The winter flew by, Y/n and Mors were playing in the grassy meadows that grew the most beautiful flowers, while Kai went back to work with the royal knights.
Y/n had picked a few and gave them to Mors, and Mors gave them to his mother, so she could put them in a vase. She watched the two boys from afar and couldn’t help but think that they would be closer than they are now in the future.
The breeze brought summer in, Mors and Y/n still played endlessly. Anala would take them to the creak or even the lake to swim. They would have wonderful picnics, just the three of them. When Kai would come back home on his breaks, the four of them would be with each other. They would play games, tell stories, go on those wonderful picnics Y/n and grown to adore.
Autumn ensued a melancholic feeling for Y/n. He felt happy to be with his new friends, but seeing the never ending cycle of the seasons made his heart ache. Y/n missed spending time with the creatures that he called family in the woods.
Sometimes they would visit him and Mors when they played in the forest, but it was only the bunnies and deer. The fae sent little presents to Y/n secretly but that's all he saw of them. Mors and Y/n would see the dragons fly across the sky, but Anala would always say they were just clouds.
Winter came around once more. Y/n experienced snow like humans did, and he learned so much with Mors within that year. Mors celebrated their first meeting together with cake and looking at the collection he started when he first met Y/n.
For some reason, Mors was so fascinated by Y/n; more so than before. He thought Y/n was so amazing, strong. Mors saw how unfazed Y/n was when he got hurt or when something bad happened. Y/n reminded Mors of a solider.
Over the next two years, Mors and Y/n grew even closer. Whenever they would hug or show any form of affection, it felt like something different. Something like the stories Anala would tell when they would fall asleep. It made Y/n’s heart flutter every time he saw Mors picking flowers or playing.
There was so much comfort that Y/n had sought and found in Mors. The warmth he felt when his e/c eyes met Mors’ raven ones felt so nice to Y/n. He loved this feeling and never wanted to let it go. He wanted this feeling to last forever.
In spring on the third year, Y/n and Mors were both in the field, surrounded by the flowers they loved to share with each other. They were holding each other's hand, just looking at the clouds. The air was fresh and sweet, something one could only find in a dream that was long forgotten.
Mors was now 11 years old, and Y/n seemingly looked the same age. It was odd to the boy. How was he physically aging when he looked the same age for so long? He couldn’t ask Mors this question, at least that’s what Y/n thought.
But this time, the change didn’t scare him, it didn’t phase him, it didn't cause the tears that it once did long ago. Mors made the change more comforting, and seemingly less scary. Y/n didn’t mind changing with Mors.
The trees could be heard rustling as the wind made the leaves dance the waltz that comes in spring. Y/n felt a surge of anxiety grip him tightly. He shot up and stood staring at the house where the Sunnin family resided in. Mors looked at him confused.
“What’s wrong Y/n?”
Y/n looked down to Mors. He felt like he was going to cry. For some reason, Y/n felt this urge to run and tell Anala something, but he didn’t know what. Y/n wasted no time, however, he booked it to where Anala was, leaving Mors behind.
“Y/n! Where are you going? What's wrong?”
Y/n wasted no time in answering. He just kept running, until he reached the door. He ripped it open and sprinted in, screaming for Anala. He could barely check the first room before collapsing to the floor, his head in his hands.
Y/n's head hurt so much, it was painful. So many images flashing in his head, it was so overwhelming for the boy. He was on the verge of a panic attack, his breath laboring as he shakily put his hand to grip his heart.
Mors came rushing into the house, worried about his friend he loved so much. His eyes saw the door of his house open and saw the h/c haired boy on the floor, trying to breathe. Mors panicked and rushed to Y/n’s side.
Y/n felt Mors hands on his back. Usually, this would have made him feel better, but the images flashing in Y/n’s head were too much. This was so new to him, he hated this.
Y/n kept seeing death, but he didn’t know who's. He kept seeing war, but he didn’t know where. He felt the pain of these images, he felt the people’s surrounding sadness. But the last image he saw was a man walking in the rain.
Mors became even more worried when Y/n wasn’t responding. Mors went to find his mother to see if she could help. Once he told Anala what was happening, she ran to where Y/n laid. Anala scooped Y/n into her arms, trying to soothe the boy.
Y/n gripped Anala, sobbing and choking out words, trying to form sentences to no avail. Anala and Mors looked at each other with a very big concern for the boy. Anala’s gaze then drifted to the boy she held.
"Y/n, honey, can you tell me what's going on? Mors and I are worried about you, and want to help you."
Y/n looked at Anala with red, tear stained eyes. The crystal drips didn't stop. Y/n tried to choke out an answer, but he only gripped Anala closer and sobbed. He buried his face in her shirt, trying to make sense of the images that assaulted his mind.
Then, with the final image of a man walking in the rain in a dull flower field, the images ceased. The sudden stop of the images caused Y/n to scream so shrill it shook the house. Y/n then collapsed in Anala's lap as he passed out, his breathing pattern settled down and fixed itself.
Anala pat Y/n's head, trying to think on what to do with the boy. She looked to her own son, the look of worry plaguing his raven eyes. Anala picked Y/n up with ease and laid him on the couch, so he could rest where she could see him.
Y/n had slept though the whole day and Mors had decided to sit at the end of the couch making sure his friend was okay. He held Y/n’s soft and and softly rubbed it whenever he saw the boy toss and turn. Mors was very worried for his dear friend, Anala was too.
She wasn’t sure what to do, and she had no idea what was happening to Y/n. Anala wanted to wait for Y/n, however, as to not startle the poor boy. Later that night, almost hitting th 24 hour mark of Y/n staying in bed, he started waking up.
Y/n tried to sit up but felt weight on his chest. He looked down to see Mors sleeping on his chest and holding him close. Y/n blushed slightly and pet his friend’s raven hair as a way to soothe his anxiety.
That morning, Anala and Y/n had talked about what happened that past day. Anala had asked the boy what was going on and why that happened, but Y/n had no clue. Mors and Y/n spent that day just playing, trying to ease the tension of the room.
After that day, Y/n’s visions of the man walking in the rain were so vivid. It was burned in his memory, and the rain fall that morning made him so anxious. This was the first sign that what he was seeing was something that actually happened.
Mors was reading to Y/n and talking about the story he was sharing with the boy, but he noticed his e/c eyes drifted off to the window. He hovered his hand over Y/n’s, trying to get the courage to hold it. Y/n’s head whipped to the door.
“Y/n, what's happenin-”
Y/n put his finger over Mors’ mouth, not looking away from the door. There was only a moment of silence, then there was a knocking on the door that interrupted it. Anala walked to the door, and Y/n sneakily hid somewhere that gave him a view of who was at the door.
Mors joined Y/n in his hiding spot, concerned for the boy. He held his friend’s hand just in case something were to happen. Y/n’s eyes started to well up with tears.
The man that stood in the doorway looked exactly like the one in the images and nightmares Y/n had. The man took his hat off and held it to his heart, Y/n waited with heavy bated breath. The tears in his eyes ready to flow.
“How can I help you, sir?”
The man looked at Anala, sorrow filling his eyes. Y/n picked up on the man's stature, it made Y/n’s anxiety so much worse. The man took his hat and held it to his heart, looking down.
"Is this the Sunnin residence?"
The man's voice was dull, keeping everyone on a string of worry. Anala nodded, assuring the man he had the right house. The man gripped his hat tighter, trying to choke up the courage he needed to tell this family why he came there in the first place.
"I'm…I'm sorry for your loss."
Anala stepped back, looking at this man with hysteria. What was this man talking about? What loss was he referring too? It made no sense to the woman.
“W-What do you mean? What loss?”
The man had tears in his eyes. He didn’t have the heart to tell this family what had happened. The man handed Anala an envelope with clean cursive, it adorned Anala’s name with such beauty.
Anala was hesitant to open it, after a few minutes of waiting she carefully tore open the envelope to show a well written letter. She read it, and with the ending of each sentence, a tear trailed down her face. She couldn’t believe what she was reading.
“No… No way, Kai is… Not my precious husband!”
Anala screamed and fell to the ground, gripping the letter with all her might. Her sobs filled the silent house. Y/n joined in crying, but his tears fell more violently.
This is what he was seeing. He was being shown Kai’s demise and the man coming here to tell them about what happened. Y/n ran out of the house in the middle of the rain.
Mors had followed him into the rain, calling out his name. Those cries fell on deaf ears, Y/n just kept running. He didn’t know where he was going, but his legs just carried him somewhere.
Y/n collapsed in the field, the sound of the rain hitting his face ringing in his ears. Everything was spinning, Y/n could barely comprehend what was happening. It was too much for the boy.
Mors had found his h/c haired friend and sat right next to him. Not a moment later did Mors wrap his arms around Y/n. The boy buried his head in the hands that held him, gripping them tightly.
That moment was forever burned into Y/n’s memory. As for Mors, he didn’t know how to process what was going on. All he knew was his father was dead, and there was only more sorrow to come.
