“Daddy’s home,” Jiyong smiled, making eye contact with Y/N while still holding Key’s beating heart.
Y/N was paralyzed by fear. Something about this man scared her more than words could express. She never felt this level of fear before in her life. Y/N wanted to respond, she wanted to deny his claims of being her father but she wasn’t able to get the words to come out of her mouth.
Jiyong smirked, dropping Key’s heart onto his lifeless body, “come give your dear old dad a welcoming home hug."
Y/N attempted to speak again but was still unable to get any words out. She closed her eyes and violently shook her head no, hoping this whole situation would turn out to be just a very bad nightmare.
“It appears you have my stubbornness,” Jiyong laughed out in amusement, taking a step closer towards Y/N.
“That’s enough,” Heeseung snarled, standing up. “Who the fuck are you and what do you want with Y/N?”
Jiyong appeared in front of Heeseung, grabbing the boy’s throat before he had time to react.
“I told you little boy,” Jiyong growled. “I am her father and I will do whatever the fuck I see fit. I suggest you stay out of my way or I will rip you limb from limb.”
Jungwon, reacting on pure instinct, stood up and grabbed Jiyong attempting to get him off of his friend. Jiyong dropped Heeseung onto the floor while shoving his hand into Jungwon’s chest cavity.
“Stop that,” Y/N yelled.
Jiyong ignored the girl’s pleas, moving his face an inch from Jungwon’s, “can you feel my hand tickling your heart?” he asked.
Jungwon nodded his head, unsure if he was going to survive.
“Please don’t kill Jungwon,” Y/N cried out, as a tear ran down her cheek.
“Jungwon, huh?” Jiyong smirked. “So you’re the boy that saved my daughter?”
Jungwon nodded again, hoping he would gain some mercy. Jiyong exhaled slowly as he pulled his hand out of Jungwon’s chest. “Consider this a thank you for keeping her safe,” he sighed.
Y/N ran over to Jungwon, kneeling down beside him as tears ran down her face. “What’s wrong with you?” she yelled.
“Damn it,” Jiyong said, rolling his sleeves up and walking back to the front of the classroom. “I seem to have soiled my favorite shirt. This just won’t do.”
“What do you want from me?” Y/N asked.
“I want what any father wants for his daughter,” Jiyong smiled, innocently. “I want you to live a long, normal mortal life.”
Before Y/N had time to respond, Jiyong whistled which brought five men into the room.
“I want you to meet your new friends,” Jiyong smiled at Y/N.
“My new friends?” she repeated, confused.
“Yes, your new friends,” Jiyong nodded. “You need to realize that I’m a busy man. Being the most powerful creature in the world keeps me occupied and I won’t be able to watch you all of the time to ensure your safety.”
“I don’t need you to ensure my safety,” Y/N argued. “I've done fine without you up till now.”
“Please don’t make daddy angry. You won’t like it when daddy gets angry,” Jiyong said, placing his hands on his chest. “But to tell you the truth, my dear, I don’t really care if you like it or not, these are your new body guards…oops I meant friends.”
“How will they be able to be with me all of the time?” Y/N asked. “I have school and they can’t be here.”
“How could I possibly have forgotten to mention the most important part? They are new students here,” Jiyong smiled. “And I had some changes made with the rooms. Your new roommate is now Kihyun.”
“But Ryujin and I…”
“Are no more,” Jiyong interrupted. “You cannot be trusted to make your own decisions.”
Jiyong looked around at the other students in the classroom, “now does anyone have any objections to the new changes?” he asked.
No one dared to argue with the maniac standing before them.
“I just want to go home,” Y/N cried.
“You are home,” Jiyong smiled. “It’s time you get used to it.”
“This is not my home and you are not my father,” Y/N argued.
“If you keep this shit up,” Jiyong started. “I will take you home and kill everybody you know while you watch so you won’t have anyone left…Is that what you want to happen?”
“You wouldn’t,” Y/N gasped, trying not to picture her loved ones dying because of her.
“You don’t know what I’m capable of,” Jiyong smiled.
“We’d help,” Jooheon laughed.
“Although the king doesn’t need any help,” Minhyuk added.
“I didn’t say he needed help,” Jooheon snarled.
“I didn’t say you did,” Minhyuk snapped.
“I suggest you shut the fuck up,” Jooheon ordered.
“What did I do?” Minhyuk asked.
“Your face is just pissing me off,” Jooheon said.
“Knock it off now,” Jiyong snarled, forcing the two to stop bickering instantly.
Y/N stood up and started walking out of the classroom as tears continued to stream down her cheeks.
“Leaving so soon?” Jiyong asked. “I thought we should have a real heart to heart talk.”
“I don’t want to talk to you,” Y/N cried, continuing to walk out of the room.
Against better judgment, Yeonjun stood up to follow her out of the classroom. He had to check on her and make sure she was ok. Y/N shouldn’t be crying and she shouldn’t be upset. He needed her to know that no matter what, he was in this with her and they would be alright.
Jiyong appeared in front of Yeonjun, preventing him from following Y/N. “And where do you think you’re going little witch?” Jiyong asked.
“I just want to make sure Y/N is ok,” Yeonjun sighed.
“She doesn’t need you anymore,” Jiyong stated. “You’ll just get in the way.”
Y/N turned around, instantly, “please don’t hurt him.”
Jiyong smiled, evilly at his daughter, “it appears you like this one.”
“Just don’t hurt him,” she begged.
Jiyong grabbed Yeonjun by the throat, “do you know how easy it would be for me to kill you right here?”
“Noooo,” Y/N cried, starting to run over to them, only to be stopped by Kihyun.
“Tsk tsk tsk,” Kihyun whispered with a half smile on his face, “You just need to watch.”
Jiyong turned his head to look at Y/N, “no daughter of mine will love a witch.”
“I don’t…I don’t love him,” Y/N denied.
“Then why do you care if I get rid of him,” Jiyong smirked.
“I’m begging you, please don’t hurt him,” Y/N panicked. “I’ll do whatever you want as long as you don’t hurt him or anyone else here.”
“I knew we could come to an understanding,” Jiyong said, releasing Yeonjun, pleased with her response. “For now, I won’t hurt anyone here.”
“For now?” Y/N repeated.
“Yea that’s all I can say,” Jiyong laughed. “Now show my daughter to her new sleeping quarters, Kihyun.”
Kihyun pulled Y/N out of the room and down the hallway.
Once they were completely out of the room, Jiyong turned to the other students, “I’m only going to say this once. If any of you get in my way, I won't hesitate to rip your heart out.”
Everyone nodded in silence, still trying to process everything that just happened.
“Oh it’s gonna be so much fun being the new chancellor here,” Jiyong laughed.

Kihyun dragged Y/N to her new sleeping quarters, while she continued to cry until they reached the room. He opened the door and shoved her inside, closing the door behind him.
“I have had just about enough of your cry baby shit,” Kihyun snarled.
“I’m sorry,” Y/N said, sniffling her nose.
“You are fucking sorry,” Kihyun huffed. “I can’t believe someone like you is the daughter of Dragon.”
“I’m not his daughter,” Y/N argued.
“How stupid can you be?” Kihyun asked. “Why would he go through so much trouble to protect you if you weren’t his actual daughter?”
“I don’t have an answer for that,” Y/N sighed. “I wish I did though.”
“I’m done with this stupidity,” Kihyun snarled, plopping down on his bed. “Now get dressed into your pajamas because we’re not going anywhere else tonight.”
“None of my stuff is in here,” Y/N stated.
“Your father took care of that for you, he got you more appropriate clothing than that garbage you’re used to wearing,” Kihyun laughed. “You’re really lucky to have such a loving dad.”
“I don’t want anything from him,” Y/N declared, turning around to walk out of the room.
Kihyun appeared behind Y/N before she had time to open the door. He swung her around, pinning her back against the door.
“I suggest you stop fighting,” Kihyun snarled. “Or this is gonna be a really hard life for you.”
“Kihyun let me go,” Y/N demanded.
Kihyun moved his face an inch from hers and smirked devilishly before running his tongue from her chin to her eye. “You’re in no position to be making demands.”
“Why are you doing this?” Y/N cried. “I thought you were supposed to be protecting me.”
“I am but I’m hungry,” Kihyun smirked, moving Y/N’s hair off of her neck. “And besides, I wanna find out what royal blood tastes like.”
“Please don’t do this,” Y/N begged.
“Yes, beg some more,” Kihyun smirked.
Y/N stared at him with utter disgust, unable to believe that this is who was entrusted to keep her safe.
“Don’t worry princess, it’s not like I’m going to kill you,” Kihyun explained, moving her onto the bed. He crawled on top of her still in control of the situation as his fangs became exposed and his eyes turned to a shade of green. “I just want a taste.”
“Your eyes,” Y/N gasped.
“What about them?” Kihyun asked.
“They’re green,” she gasped.
“Yea and?” Kihyun huffed.
“Why are they green? I thought vampires’ eyes turned black,” Y/N stated.
“Oh my god you’re so fucking stupid,” Kihyun growled. “I’m a hybrid not a fucking vampire.”
He leaned down, puncturing the skin on Y/N’s neck with his fangs, drawing her blood into his mouth. She could see smoke coming out from his mouth, the sound of sizzling overtook the sounds of silence in the room. But Kihyun didn’t seem to be phased.
“Mmmm,” Kihyun moaned as he continued drinking her blood.
The feeling was a strange euphoric sensation, sending shivers throughout her body. “Please. Stop,” she begged.
Kihyun pulled away for a moment, to gaze deep into her eyes. As smoke poured out of his mouth he said, “you taste like heaven.”
“Isn’t my blood burning you?” Y/N wondered.
“That’s part of the pleasure,” Kihyun smirked, biting down on the other side of her neck.
Y/N realized her fate was in his hands and there was nothing she could do to stop this from happening. She closed her eyes, slowly losing consciousness.
“Y/N,” a woman’s voice sounded out.
She sat up, looking around, realizing she was no longer in her new bedroom. She was in the middle of a forest, surrounded by huge trees, the only light was the almost full moon above the forest canopy. She was dressed in pajamas but had no shoes on her feet.
“How did I get here?” she said to herself.
“Y/N,” the woman called out again.
“Who’s there?” Y/N asked, looking around.
A white figure started coming towards Y/N through the trees. It was a beautiful woman who had an almost majestic glow around her.
“Y/N,” the woman smiled. “I’m so glad we finally have the chance to meet.”
“Who are you?” Y/N wondered.
“That’s not important,” she smiled, comfortingly.
“How did I get here?” Y/N asked.
“I brought you here.”
“But why?” Y/N wondered.
“You are in grave danger,” the woman stated. “You cannot trust Jiyong. He’s an awful beast and will destroy you just as quickly as he is willing to destroy everything else in his life.”
“I don’t trust him,” Y/N said, shaking her head no.
“You’re more powerful than you know,” the woman continued. “You need to focus on your natural abilities and learn to harness the powers of your ancestors.”
“How do I do that?” Y/N asked.
“You know plenty of witches that will be able to help with the process,” the woman smiled. “Then after you find your full strength, you must die at the hands of a vampire.”
“What?!” Y/N gasped.
“It’s the only way to stop him,” the woman explained.
“I have to die in order to stop him?” Y/N repeated, still unable to comprehend the full extent of what the lady was implying.
“That’s right,” the woman nodded. “It’s the only way.”
“But,” Y/N started.
“BUT NOTHING,” she yelled.
Y/N exhaled deeply sitting up, no longer in the magical feeling forest. She looked around, realizing she was somehow sitting in the middle of the witch’s sanctuary.
“Did you have a good slumber?” Taehyun asked who was sitting on a bench, smiling widely at her.
“Taehyun?” Y/N gasped. “How did I get here?”
“I’m assuming you had a visit from her,” Taehyun sighed, ignoring her questions.
“Who is she?” Y/N wondered.
“I’m assuming you met the original witch,” Taehyun said, sitting up.
“The original witch?” Y/N repeated. “What does she want with me?”
“I don’t know,” Taehyun said. “But whatever it is, it must be important. She doesn’t come to see just anyone.”
“She said I have to die,” Y/N whispered.
“That can’t be,” Taehyun denied.
“That’s what she said,” Y/N insisted. “She said it was the only way to stop him.”
“To stop who?” Taehyun wondered.
“My father,” Y/N said, looking down at the floor.
“Y/N,” Yeonjun yelled, running into the sanctuary.
Y/N looked up, smiling widely when she saw Yeonjun. She stood up and ran to him, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
“I’m so happy you’re here,” Y/N gasped, feeling her face getting warm.
Yeonjun pulled away so he could look into her eyes, “I’ll always be here for you.”
Y/N instinctively pressed her lips against Yeonjun’s, feeling electricity throughout her body. This moment was the first time she felt safe since she came to this school.
“Would you two get a room already,” Taehyun groaned, rolling his eyes.
Y/N pulled away, laying her head onto Yeonjun’s chest, refusing to let go of him.
“Please just hold me a little longer,” Y/N whispered.
“I’ll never let go,” Yeonjun said, kissing the top of her head.
“Y/N,” a man yelled from outside of the sanctuary, “come out now before I burn this shit to the ground.”

Hope that helps explain why I’m posting a winter-themed fic on the onset of summer lol. (This was supposed to come out last week but oh well cbfjkgsid)
You always seemed to be missing a piece of stationery in 5th grade. Every time a lost pencil was replaced by your exasperated mother, there went your ruler the following week. It wasn’t until halfway into the term that you realized it was your plushie-loving deskmate, Kai. His speciality was pickpocketing your array of coloured glitter pens. Those were his favourite. It boiled your blood immensely but your teacher refused to change the seating plan, no matter how much you pleaded.
Between this and his penchant for tearing up pieces of paper to bits, you don’t even know how you and Huening Kai became friends.

You were fairly inexperienced with romance. You'd dated people before, but something always went wrong and the relationships never progressed far.
You'd learnt to live with that. Obviously you just weren't ready, or you just sucked at relationships. Either way, the love life was non-existent right now.
But now all your friends were dating- being affectionate, being couple goals and making you a third wheel.
You were jealous. As cliche and cringey as it sounded, you had so much to give and no-one to give to.

You were hanging out with your best friend, Kai, at his place. You'd spent the past nine hours talking, listening to music, watching Netflix and eating.
And cuddling. Always cuddling. He was so clingy with you, you could be as close as humanly possible, and it still wouldn't be enough for him. Like right now, you had your arms around each other, your legs intertwined. A Marvel movie played in the background, but you weren't paying attention. You were too distracted by the pleasant tingle on your leg where Kai was running his fingers back and forth, back and forth, tracing patterns on your skin.
He snuggled his face into your neck and let out a content sigh. That's when you felt his lips press to your skin.
You craned your neck and gazed down at him with wide eyes. "Did you just kiss my neck?"
Kai looked up at you, blushing. "Yeah... Sorry, I couldn't help it."
You chuckled, still surprised, but finding him adorable when he's flustered. "It's okay."
And it was okay, because you'd been best friends for years and you were nearly too comfortable showing affection at this point. You'd lost track of how many people (including your parents) had asked if you two were actually dating.
Kai focused back on the movie, still snuggled into your side. "You ever think about your first kiss?" he asks out of the blue.
Your eyes darted from the TV to your best friend. You felt yourself blush a tiny bit at the unexpected question. You'd never kissed anyone because- apart from the tragic relationship history- you were insecure about not being good at it, and you hadn't wanted to let your partners down.
"Uh, yeah. I think about it sometimes," you admitted. You pause, then sigh. "I wish I could just kiss someone already."
Kai looked up at you with a soft gaze as his lower lip caught between his teeth. "What if...?" he trailed off, blushing madly and looking away.
You watched him patiently, waiting for him to finish his sentence. Your head automatically tilted to the side slightly as you waited.
He went quiet as he continued chewing his lip and avoiding eye contact. When he finally looked at you again, he seemed sheepish. "What if we have our first kiss together?"
You blinked, not sure you'd heard him right. Your face warmed and your heart started racing. You'd never admit it, but you'd had a little crush on Kai for years now. He didn't know, but you wondered now if he felt the same? Or was he just 'helping out a friend'?
Kai noticed your hesitancy and flushed more. "Sorry, it was a stupid idea. Forget I said anything." He looked away again.
"No, no, it's not stupid!" you reassured him. "I was just... caught off guard, that's all." There was an awkward moment silence. "So, um..." You licked your lips. "Do you want to?"
You really liked Kai. Secretly, you would love to share a memorable first kiss with him. It didn't matter to you now whether it went good or bad, it'd be with your best friend/crush of three years, so it wouldn't matter.
Kai's eyes flickered up to yours, he looked so nervous and innocent. "Only if you want to."
You shrugged, trying to act cool. "I mean, yeah. You're my best friend. I'm really comfortable around you, so I guess sharing a first kiss isn't a bad idea."
Kai sat up and angled his body so he faced you. He licked his lips and glanced down at the covers of his bed. Your heart was hammering in your chest and you suddenly forgot how to breathe smoothly.
You guys made eye contact before his eyes dropped to your mouth. Kai brought his hand to the side of your face as he leaned in closer.
It was fairly quick. Before you could fully process what was happening, Kai's lips were on yours.
It felt...
Electric. Like a warmth- a buzz- was spreading through your body as his lips pressed gently to yours. You put your hands on his shoulders and brought him closer as you moved your lips against his. He responded immediately, putting his other hand around your waist and bringing you against his chest.
You guys stayed like that for a moment before Kai pulled away, keeping you held to his body.
"That was-"
"Shh," you interrupted. You leaned in and connected your lips once more, wrapping your arms around his neck.
The second kiss only lasted a few seconds before there was a knock on Kai's bedroom door. Your heads whipped to the side, jump-scared by the sudden interruption.
"Time to go home!" Kai's mum called through the door.
"Okay!" Kai replied, and you picked up on his slightly breathless voice. That made you smile as you looked at his lightly flushed cheeks.
Kai locked eyes with you and flashed you a playful grin. "We can continue this another time," he teased.
But you knew he wasn't joking. And you were thankful for that, because now that this had happened, how could you possibly look back?
