I kinda went off of my usual humanization formula on this but I think it helps add little more uniqueness to their design.

The blue and black livery are both canon and are interchangeable like how the skarloey railway can switch their livery to either the TV or railway series.

In my future modern era illustrations of them I'll give them separate liveries colors to differentiate.

Oh and it's 9/10 what a coincidence, happy day to them¡

Has any engine ever told Edward to “control your gremlins” in reference to Bill and Ben?

Few engines (that we know from canon) have really interacted enough with the China Clay twins to be much annoyed by them, honestly. (Duck and Thomas have been down that way... but they think the way Edward deals with them is fine. Great, even. Thomas would be quite the hypocrite if he all the sudden started campaigning for young tank engines to be treated with more strictness and less tolerance!)

But Donald and Douglas help out on the branch line enough to have encountered the bees, and they're completely over them, and they have Opinions on the degree to which Edward should have definitely just punted the nonsense out of the wee gremlins long ago.

James also took over the line once while Edward was being overhauled, and spent some years flexing at Tidmouth as to how he doesn't see what the big deal about them is, it isn't hard. He handled them on his own just fine!

Then came a time, circa the 80s, the clay pits were forcibly shut down for two months. Bill and Ben were sent to Tidmouth on hire, causing confusion and delay and consternation aplenty, and James got shown up because he absolutely could not put his money where his mouth was. They ran him especially ragged.

(To save face, James blamed—*spins James's wheel of salty caprice*—BoCo. He had corrupted them. They used to be fine. But that buzzbox diesel must have taught them these tricks in order to pay out him—personally!

James was promptly laughed out of the yard.)

happy donald day! i would draw something if i wasnt so ill LMAO so instead ill give a headcannon. donald prefers to sleep in births of sheds at the ends, so he can look through the windows and sees the stars. they bring him stablity and comfort, as when he and douglas were shipped off to sodor and their fates were uncertain, the stars were a relieving constant in his life.

38 years of Thomas the Tank Engine!

For the #TAF2022 CGCI series collab on Twitter, I wanted to redraw a scene from one of my favorite episodes, "Love Me Tender."

First of all, The music is great. Chris Renshaw did an amazing job composing a theme for Donald and Douglas that's reminiscent of the classic version. Love me electric guitar and bagpipes too. AND THE VISUALS MY GOD. I am a huge sucker for winter scenery.

Apart from the score and visuals, "Love Me Tender" would not be as wonderful as it is without the writing by Davey Moore. What I love about it is the duality of the characters' actions and the consequences that follow.

Donald and Douglas both make several mistakes, so what happens isn’t just one engine’s fault. The coupling would not have broken if they both hadn’t been pulling simultaneously, AND you would think that Donald is more to blame for abandoning Douglas, but Douglas also refused to reconcile by declining Toby’s offer to help. Only when Donald went searching for Douglas, and when Douglas was actively calling for help, was the situation resolved. Since the whole problem was a result of their parallel mistakes, it took dual effort from both brothers to help each other in the end. Such a feel good episode

After three days when I'm drawing and painting Mighty Mac, I'm also drawing and painting the picture of a pair of Scottish twin brothers, Donald and Douglas. Although they're both raised in a Catholic faith like the other railway engine drivers in the Island of Sodor.

I currently have two new fusions in the works, they are as follows- Donald + Bill + Arry + Max = Alex Douglas + Ben + Bert + Monty = Aiden Since in my fusion AU twins cant fuse together less they stay fused forever, I'm thinking up an arc where all the twins have a falling out with their respective brothers and end up talking to one of the other fellow duos of the island.
