Crane balding- crane hair is one of the few humanoids with who have their own hair ,being made out of a material that is as strong as their cranes rope. usually happens when a crane isn't maintained well, due to the head being constantly exposed to the sun + stress causes the hair to be burned off and causes them to bald, it can be restored by giving them rope but takes a long time to grow back.
Extreme blindness- humanoids unlike humans can see more light than them so they'll be able to see signs from farther distances but this could be turned against them if you flash a bright light on to them in the middle of the night it could stunner them to the point of them collapsing depending on how long it's out on them. This tactic was used during the first and second war.
Digging- commonly happens to old steam engines made before the 1940s. Causes by the over time carrying the weight and or constant movements such as jumping usually they try to prevent it by putting rubber on their heels but I'll eventually break through the hole cause them to no longer use wheels without wearing engine shoes.
Rusting - can happened due to many reasons smaller cases just causes itching and irritation but in extreme cases can cause feelings of inflammation, lack of movement, digging, and scratching due constantly itching.
PBB- most humanoids say that this is worse than rusting since its worse in their core than I their body. Usually happens when a Humanoid kills a human not hurt but kill and blood is spilled on their body. Once they clean it off it the marks stays on them for years making a constant stinging sensation externally. Internally it hurts their core giving them regret, guilt and other symptoms grief depends on the engine personality. Even even the pale marks goes away it could still affect them for their entire life. Psychologically torturous.

The monster engines aren't limited to rails as engines, plus they can twist and turn their bodies around to "steer" themselves but they are awkward and slower than they would be on rails. I just think it's funny to imagine engines just chilling off the rails and doing wacky shenanigans, like Salty climbing up Cranky like a weird giant caterpillar to tell him a long story.
