"Some animals that evolved in the East African rift valleys spread from there and learned to live in all of the varied landscapes of the planet. This was their first home, but they have since walked on the Moon." idk idk bro I wasn't expecting poetry in my geology textbook
Hey so I have also asked this question before but as a result of taking a communications class this semester, I now know a devastating fact for all twitter users: twitter is, according to my communications textbook, a website of the Exact Same Genre as tumblr!
Sounds unrealistic, I know, but you know how tumblr is a blogging website? Well, specifically, it's technically a microblogging website. A microblog, according to my textbook, is basically a normal blog, except that "the format and technology encourage shorter posts and content." Sounds like tumblr to me. Even if we do have long posts (like this one is becoming), a shorter format is more encouraged.
Side note, the name "tumblr" apparently comes from "tumblelogs," an earlier term for microblogs. So yeah, it's definitely microblogging.
Now that we've established that tumblr is a microblogging website, have this direct quote from my textbook:
"Today, perhaps the most popular microblog is Twitter"
And here's a picture, in case you don't believe me:
(It does also list tumblr specifically as a microblog as well, in case you were worried.)
So that's why. Because tumblr and twitter are the same exact kind of website.
Also, I should note that any "status update" feature is microblogging too. My textbook is very informational <3
(textbook used is Converging Media 6th edition by John V Pavilk and Shawn McIntosh, info referenced is on pages 200-201)
So.... Twitter users might be migrating to Tumblr. Time to show them who's alpha.
Why are they comin here why
I think the whole first chapter of this textbook is just "SOIL IS COOL >:^( and you better not call it dirt"
Everyone say hi to Max
Two weeks left in the semester and I feel like it's JUST starting to get good, ahhh
This is the first time in quite a while where I felt like I actually ENJOYED studying. It sucks because learning has always been something I'm super passionate about. I used to LOVE studying. But, better late than never I guess.
What textbooks do you use for learning Chinese?
I noticed that my current textbooks at my exchange uni in China are noticeably different from the textbook used back at my home uni, and now I'm interested in knowing whether the content varies drastically overall.
I'm curious to see what are some of the other textbooks that used for learning Chinese and how effective you would consider them to be, so please feel free to share your thoughts!
A lot of requests from people asking me how I take notes from my textbooks so here it is! Just click this link to find my top 12 tips to take best notes from your textbooks!
Anyone ever pissed at Snape because he literally had the students buy shitty potions textbooks?
Like literally the same book he used when he was at hogwarts
The same book he spent time correcting so that it actually worked
That’s the book he had his students buy, and then he didn’t give them the corrections.
That alone makes him an unforgivable character because he liked to watch children fail.
