Tbb Hunter - Tumblr Posts
in honor of the trailer release, here's the comm with Hunter and Crosshair for s0ftbatch on twitter
Hunter: acoustic or electric guitar.
Tech: Electric Instruments such as the Theremin. or synthesizers and Percussa AudioCubes (didn't know those were a thing) or a few jazz instruments and any kind of piano. both electric and regular violins
Wreaker: I think he would enjoy drums and all sorts of percussive instruments.
Crosshair: Saxaphone. bass guitar. Clarinet. and also an electric guitar. he and Tech would be very versatile though.
Echo: Trumpet. and other one handed instruments.
Omega: is just branching out but I think she would be able to play piano and violin. she would try to learn a little bit of what everyone else can play.
Now it's your turn!!
keep this train going with all the others
Calling all Bad Batch/Clone Wars/Rebels fans who are into their orchestral music: in a Mordern AU where the characters played orchestral instruments, what instruments would they play? I’m intrigued. 😂😂😂
My next season 3 prediction:
The Crosshair v. Hunter Custody Battle over Omega continues...
Oh, but, what's this?!
Here comes ASAJJ VENTRESS WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!!!
I miss Echo

Chapter 8:
Previous // Next
Warnings: Canon violence. Bad decisions.
--------------------------------------------------
“Okay, let’s go over the plan one more time,” you said quietly.
Omega nodded, pointing at the layout on the screen. “You’ll set off that crate of detonators right here, just inside the front door.”
You nodded. "Yep, and that’ll trigger an alarm which should draw most of the guards towards me - "
“And that’s my cue to sneak down into the cell block to rescue everybody while you grab the staff from the treasure room!” Omega finished emphatically.
“Good!” You grinned, “Remember to keep your communicator on but only use it to contact me if something goes wrong.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
***
Fifteen minutes crept by slowly.
Omega should be at her station about now, you thought.
You wanted to know how she was fairing, but not hearing from her was a good thing. It meant she wasn't in trouble.
Five minutes later, the communicator chirped quietly at your side.
“The guards aren’t leaving!” Omega’s whispered voice sounded tense, “What do I do? I don’t think that diversion worked!”
You peered around the corner into the treasure room. Most of the guards had left.
Only two here. I could take them if I had to.
You could see the staff with it’s glimmering emerald in a case on the back wall.
That was easy.
You lifted the communicator to your lips, trying to remember the readout on the console sitting one floor above.
“There should be a ventilation shaft right above you,” you whispered.
Silence.
“I don’t see one!” Omega whispered back urgently, “And it sounds like there are more guards headed this way!”
Groaning inwardly, you began to wish you hadn’t thought of such a stupid plan. Omega needed you, and you knew that you should get out of there while you still could.
But the staff, a tiny voice whispered in your head, it’s right there. It won’t take long.
You bit your lip. You shouldn’t. A stupid antique wasn’t worth Omega’s life.
Omega’s a smart girl, that voice continued, she’s plenty capable on her own.
It made everything sound so simple. Get the staff, get the boys - that was the plan, wasn’t it?
Hunter will be impressed. He’d like you again.
Guilt churned in your gut as you lifted the communicator again. It chimed just as you opened your mouth, about to tell her that you were on the way.
“Wait, I see it! It’s on the other end of the hall, though, but I think I can make it.”
“Ok,” you responded, “Do it, but be careful!”
“I will!”
Sucking your lower lip in conflicted thought, you made up your mind. “It shouldn’t take me much longer. I’ll grab the staff and meet you by the cell block.”
“Got it.”
You chewed on your lip again, that guilty dread hadn’t abated. If anything, it had gotten worse. Something was going to go wrong - you could feel it. Something wasn’t right.
You looked back up at the staff.
That’s just the anxiety talking, you tried to convince yourself, everything is still going as planned. Just get the damned thing and go help Omega.
You took a deep breath, feeling the anxiety fade away as you slipped into the room.
I got this.
The crates and boxes stacked haphazardly in the dim lighting made it easy to manouver unseen through the treasure room.
“Crazy about those thermal detonators, right!?”
You froze.
“Yeah man,” came the response, and you could’ve collapsed in relief. You’d almost forgotten about the guards that stood just outside the door.
“Think they were just old?” the guard continued, obviously trying to initiate some kind of conversation with his partner.
“I dunno. Maybe.”
They fell silent again for several seconds.
“Ya know, when we grabbed them from that ship it was kinda cool.”
“Yup.”
“Just uhh…you know. You and me.”
“Uh huh.”
“They never pair us together…”
The second guard sighed, “First time for everything.”
“It was fun though,” the one continued before hesistating, “just sayin’, I think we make a pretty good team.”
His partner shifted uncomfortably, “Look man… I’m just trying to do my job here.”
“Yeah, man. Bro. Sorry….”
They shifted into an uncomfortable silence, unaware that you’d snuck past them quite easily as you quickly moved closer to the glass case that held the staff.
The communicator chirped once again and you froze, hoping that the guards were too distacted to notice. You winced at the noise as Omega began to speak quietly through your earpiece.
“Ok, I see them! They’re in a cell together, but there are four guards in here now and the ventilation shaft ends too far away!” She sounded desperate.
“Hey, did you hear that!?” The first guard stood up straight, glancing around.
“Hear what?” His partner sounded exasperated.
“Uhh… nevermind. I thought I heard something.” He paused, “By the way, what do you think about our new armor?”
“Dude, shut up.”
“Right. Yeah. Got a job to do.”
Ducking out of sight, you pressed the communicator up to your lips.
“Get ready,” you hissed, “wait for my signal.”
“Affirmative.”
You assessed the case and the situation in the room. Once the glass was broken, an alarm would probably go off, sending people to your location. That should take care of Omega’s problem.
Then you could take the staff and get back to her quickly.
Peering around the corner once again, you took a deep breath and steadied your heart.
It’s now or never.
Taking a breath, you rammed your elbow into the glass case, and grabbed the staff. The resulting alarm sounded loudly over the compound, buzzing through your eardrums in a painfully electrifying screech.
Both guards spun around.
“What the - !?” You clocked him in the temple with the staff before he could finish and he collapsed onto the floor. The first guard blinked, staring frozen with his mouth slightly ajar.
“If it’s any consolation, I think he likes you back!” you grinned at the man as he slowly moved to press his communicator, still staring back and forth between you and his fallen friend. Flipping the staff around you smacked the device from his hand, giving him a shrug. “Though, I don’t seem to be the best judge of that sort of thing.”
“Wha…?” The butt of the staff slammed against his head before he even had time to contemplate your words and he collapsed unconscious, joining his friend on the floor.
A clang from the floor below told you that Omega had jumped out from the ventilation shaft and the ever nearing pounding of footsteps told you that it was time to go.
Dashing down the stairs, you slid around the corner and slammed the staff into another guard. He spun around, blaster firing wildly as you kicked him in the chest before pulling your own blaster on him, sending him flying into the wall with a smoking hole in his chest.
That beautifully cocky and euphoric feeling of adrenaline coursed through your veins as you ran down the hall where the purple flash of Omega’s bow danced along the walls.
A loud clatter accompanied the pause of energy bolts.
“Hunter!” She screamed, “Help!”
You dashed around the corner. One guard held Omega tightly in his grip while the other one slid her bow away with the butt of an electrostaff.
“Let me go!” She struggled and kicked at him but it seemed to have no effect on the large, armored guard.
“Omega, no!” shouted Hunter as he slammed himself into the bars that held him, only to be forced further back into the cell as the guard hit him in the chest with the electrostaff, sending blue arcs of electricity through his body before Wrecker caught him.
Oh no you don’t.
Rage bubbled through your chest as you burst from the corner. “Hey assholes!”
The first blaster bolt slammed through the chest of the staff wielding guard and the second hit the control panel that released the rest of your team.
Omega cried out as the first guard tossed her into the wall before pulling his own blaster.
“Wrecker get Omega!” Hunter shouted. Fire blazed in his eyes as he pulled his knife from the offending guard’s throat. “Echo, find us a way out of here. Tech, find out where they’ve got our gear!”
Omega stood, rubbing her elbow as she pulled herself to her feet and retrieved her bow. “Your gear’s in the next room over!” She shouted. Hunter gave a firm nod and motioned for Tech and Wrecker to retrieve it.
You grit your teeth as footsteps sounded down the hall. This was NOT how things were supposed to go.
“Hunter,” you shouted impatiently, “I got Cid’s staff but we gotta go!”
He regarded you coolly, lips pulled into a tight line, Adam's apple bobbing up and down as if debating whether or not to respond. The choice was made for him as Wrecker and Tech rushed back with the gear. He turned away sharply and your face fell.
I kriffed up.
Regret tinged with disappointment sank like a stone in your stomach as you clenched your teeth, anger willing away the tears that pricked your eyes, and the growing lump in your throat.
“Hunter, I’ve got a clear route out but we need to move now!” Echo spoke.
“Good. Let’s get out of here.” He all but ripped the staff from your hand as he strode past. “I’ll hold onto this.”

Well said, and I'd like to add something.
Their reunion will be, to put it squarely, strained. The last time they saw each other Crosshair wanted to squad back for what they used to be “You just don't get who we are, do you?”
And this time, (as you've put wonderfully,) they've both changed as individuals drastically, nobody is the same. Which, I think, leads them to build something new entirely. Not what they were, that's gone, what they are now.
That could be a good thing, or a bad thing, but I guess we’ll see how it shakes out in the end.
They Don’t Know: Where Our Characters Are at Going into TBB Season 3
Something I want us all to remember, partly in response to the leaked scene for TBB, and partly something I’ve been thinking about:
We, as the audience, know the full story (out of what they’ve chosen to show us so far) of what each of these characters has been through since season 1: Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, Omega, and Crosshair. We’ve seen them together, we’ve seen them separated into pairs, we’ve seen Omega’s times of being captured, parts of Echo’s stint with Rex, and we’ve seen Crosshair’s time and journey with the Empire.
The last time these characters all saw each other in the same space at the same time, was Kamino Lost. The end of season 1. The platform.
There is an entire season worth of character growth, experiences gained, lessons learned, and hardships endured, that each of our Batchers has gone through—that the others don’t know about.
And especially related to Crosshair—all the other Batchers know, is that he potentially did something that gained him the ire of the Empire and put him in Hemlock’s possession. And that he sent them a warning message on an old comm line that could or could not even have been him. That’s it. That’s all they know. They don’t know what he did, or what has been done to him. They don’t know about the 32 rotations (I don’t think). They don’t know about his mission with Cody. They don’t know what his thought processes have been. They don’t know he’s been tortured. They don’t know that he helped and tried to avenge a reg. They don’t know the physically and mentally weakened state he is in.
Hunter, in particular, doesn’t know what’s happened to his brother, where he is at, how he looks or how he’s feeling right now. He doesn’t know. He’s been trying to hold his family together in a changing galaxy like sand slipping through a clenched fist, and the last grains are threatening to fall through. All he knows is that every last one of his efforts to keep his family safe have ended with the opposite effect.
And Crosshair doesn’t know about Tech. He doesn’t know how badly his brothers have missed him, even if they don’t talk about it. He doesn’t know about Cid or what’s happened with her. He doesn’t know how the rest have been trying to survive this whole time. He doesn’t know the hard choices that have been made, the questions that have been pondered, the decisions that Hunter has stood between, the potential lives that had opened up for them that were brutally snatched away the second they landed on Eriadu. He doesn’t know they tried to save him, that they were (finally) coming back for him. He doesn’t know how much Omega has learned, and grown, the relationships she’s forged, the smarts she has. All he knows is that he gave his last efforts of love and care toward a family that he thinks abandoned him, one last-ditch effort to keep them safe, and it backfired. The very thing he was trying to protect Omega from is the very situation she ends up in.
He doesn’t know (Crosshair). He doesn’t know (Hunter). They don’t know.
And it will be a shock and a turning point when they finally see each other again, see how worn down and battle-weary and utterly traumatized they all are individually, how much has been lost, how much has been broken, how much things have changed in their second time period apart. And what they choose to do with the broken pieces of who they each are now, will determine how they can heal together, going forward.
We know. But they don’t, yet. Let’s give them grace as they each learn who each other is again. And hope they can give that grace to themselves and each other, as well.
Also, Crosshair stands with an Imperial Shuttle while the others stand with the Maurader. And Wrecker and Omega stand closer to Crosshair, while Hunter is further back perhaps symbolizing that Hunter will take longer to forgive Crosshair than the others.
I love the attention to detail. Two islands of light. Crosshair on one, the others on the other. They perfectly displayed the huge gap that was created in the first season by Cross. Now he needs to regain the trust of his brothers after almost a year of living apart. From now on, the arc of Crosshair's correction begins in the eyes of the rest of the squad, his rehabilitation begins now and it is not known how soon he will be able to become a full-fledged part of this family again. When they trust him again and accept him as their own.
Omega will most likely help him with this. She was generally a ray of light, a supportive sister who you want to protect. She's the only one who believed in Cross, who trusts him even after all this time. Now that her brother has stopped listening to his demons and has begun his redemption, she must help him become Clone 99 again.
I sincerely hope that his story will not end with his death, otherwise we have already lost one.
Wow, Nice analysis, I'd also like to point out, that if the Marauder represents Tech, then Hunter lingers longer inside than Wrecker to meet Omega when they meet again. Maybe that he’s more willing to let go of Tech to see Omega again while Hunter is still kinda stuck in his head, leaving Tech’s goggles on a pedestal as a reminder of his failure to protect his family.
Ay that's painful.

His eyes seem darker in the dark or when he’s looking at Crosshair, but lighter when he looks at Omega?? Or the sun? I don’t know.
Am I stupid or are hunters eyes a different(?) lighter(?) color this episode??
TBB Season 3: Episode 5 SPOILERS
Crosshair and Hunter be like in the this episode:
Also, when Hunter is looking at Crosshair only the skull half of his face is in the shadows, and when they start arguing later, his face is completely engulfed in Crosshair’s shadow. But when they make up, they both face towards the sun shadows behind them.
Perhaps symbolizing they've only been half of Clone Force 99 with Crosshair’s shadow looming over them, but now that they've made up they can look towards better times.
Oh my gosh...how did I not notice this??
Y'all remember the lighting Joel Aron (one of the guys that makes the Bad Batch) mentioned regarding Hunter and Crosshair? How symbolic it was gonna be?
The shadows on their faces look like each other's tattoos!!!! 😭💜
I can't even with this!! I'll never recover 😭💜 I love this so much!!
Deeming how Tech only barely shows any semblance of a crush on Phee, I’d be more hilarious if they reacted like:
Crosshair: o-o Why didn’t you mention THIS?! Hunter:I didn’t know about THIS either!
I need a scene after Crosshair meets Phee for the first time, he leans over to Wrecker and Hunter and is like, Tech got her!? in complete disbelief.
And they just nod proudly
I have a theory. Throughout the series, we’ve seen Omega interact with pretty much only destructive animals(those weird dogs in season 1 count), like Muchi the Rancor, and now Batcher the Lurca hound. Obviously, Omega isn't force-sensitive like Jedi are force-sensitive but maybe she has a connection to only dangerous animals. Like maybe awakening the squid thingy was actually her fault because she just attracts only dangerous animals.
So here's my weird theory, Omega Will ‘befriend’ the Zillo Beast in order to escape Tantiss for the second time. I mean, The Zillo beast as a distraction would be boss.
Note this was originally a comment but it got too long, this is just my opinion about Hunter & I know fan-fics are interpretations not reality but I have problems accepting that… anyway.
Take it slow, Hunter has a LOT of things to deal with, he wouldn't be pursuing a relationship, she would have to be pursuing HIM likely. Like Phee and Tech.
Additionally, Hunter doesn't seem that affectionate like in a touchy way, he never hugs Omega directly(S1 & 2) he just lets her hug him. The most we really get as ‘touchy affection’ is him tucking her hair behind her ear in S2. Therefore, again, the female would have to take the lead on—ahem. kissing.
I only have 2 more things to add, it might be difficult for the romantic relationship if she’s introduced as someone he needs to protect like Omega. Because yeah he feels the need to protect the squad but if she’s folded in, it might be difficult to see her as anything more.
Finally emotions, Hunter clearly bottles up emotions so he can appear strong as the leader, it's kinda hard to read him. This could potentially cause problems for a future suitor.
Sorry if I got too preachy like I said it's my interpretation and I like the idea of writing the characters as if you copy and paste them from the show and drop them in a new and strange situation and simulate how they'd act. I don't see him act as he is a lot and this^ is just what I'd like to see explored. Thanks for reading my ramble.
Oh and I don’t know anything abt advertising a fanfic so all I can recommend is see what others do and copy them. Like maybe posting promotions on your Tumblr account and posting the fan-fic on multiple platforms, like Fanfiction.net and A03.
Hope this helps!
Gonna try to start up a Bad Batch fic but i have no idea how to promote it in any way when I get it written
It’s gonna be a Hunter x OC and it’s gonna hopefully cover all 3 seasons
Any tips?
The only reaction I can have to this is, Oh Crack. I researched what a split diopter is online too, now I'm just more worried, look:
If you didn't want to read all that, it's to create drama by having the world around the character blur out and focus mostly on them to create drama and to emphasize the character’s reaction to an event or underline their emotional state as the scene unfolds. Since Omega is the main focus in this show and the poster is giving everyone bad vibes(the Hunter’s helmet one) I can guess a lot of bad things.
It's Omega’s reaction to Hunter’s death. Maybe he self-sacrifices for her maybe when he dies the blood is blurred out like the strawberry picture, maybe it's Tech revealed to be CX-2 coupled with Hunter’s death.
It's Omega’s reaction to Tech(I don't think this one is likely)
It's Crosshair’s reaction to being in a specific place in Tantiss, maybe he gets a panic attack, maybe he sees evil Tech and knows it's partially his fault.
It's a shot focused on Crosshair trying to make the Shot, the one he’s been trying to make since the beginning of S3, like a ricochet one.
This clue really only offers speculation for very bad news. At least for me.
This is so cool.
*Microwave gets turned on
Hunter: I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED.
Hunter Bad Batch’s powers have always been super confusing to me. According to the wiki, he can sense electromagnetic waves
So if someone on the other side of the planet turns on their microwave, will he know?
WAIT
TBB SEASON 3 FINALE SPOILERS
Omega said ‘Keep an eye on Wrecker and Crosshair…” not “keep an eye on Wrecker, Crosshair and Echo”
If my guessing is correct, the time when the Rebellion needs pilots in Rebels is after Old Man Rex is recruited which means the Clone Rebellion is over. Which means Echo never came home.
Echo who deserved rest and peace but chose to help, is the one who didn't make it.
I’d hope that I'm wrong but I don't think I am.
