Live recording of Miquella yanking Radahn out of Boss heaven for the DLC Final battle
I BEAT STARSCOURGE RADAHN!!!!
(THREE TRIES)
I died in one of them and Radahn was beat by the people I summoned lol
Just a few lines to get out of my system the current thoughts I have about foreshadowing for the Final Boss of the DLC.
TW: I'm being very annoying about this so read at your own risk.
Things that set up Godwyn+Mohg as Promised Consort (something that for 1000 lore reasons would have failed epically giving us some kind of tragic monstrosity as Final Boss):
1. The entire characterization of Godwyn tells us that he is good and kind, someone who managed to be a peacemaker even when the natural enemies of the Golden Order were involved, a guy so perfect that even her murderer hasn't a single bad word to speak against him -> The literal Knight in Shining Armor Miquella would seek as Consort for an Age of Compassion
2. The entire Eclipse plotline + the Golden Epitaph + the Statue in Loretta's arena -> Miquella's love for Godwyn is made clear and can be easily twisted into childish obsession if/where needed
3. Mohg's final words, almost joyful: "Ahh, I can see it, clear as day! The coming of our dynasty! Mohgwyn!" -> Mohg knows that he'll be fused with another person as part of Miquella's plan. And he knows that the entity born from that fusion will be called Mohgwyn, not Moghadan.
Things that set-up Radahn+Mohg as Promised Consort:
1. ... uhm.
2. Okay, wait, what if we use this old trailer and instead than going with our original explanation we announce that Malenia was saying: "Miquella awaits thee, O Promised Consort"? What do you mean this is not foreshadowing because we're doing it now? They won't notice, trust me!
3. Also, have you seen how a lot of fans saw poor corpse-like Leonard and decided Radahn was being extremy nice by riding it into battle? That is a great proof of his kindness, no? And Sellia! Let's totally ignore the revelation that the stars weren't going to hit Sellia and use that as another proof of his heart of gold! It's done! Our job is done! Shock value! Fanservice! Win/win! 🤩🤩🤩
The fans: omg Miyazaki is a genius, everything was planned from the start, GIGACHAD!, yeeeeeeeees!, Fromsoft slays again! 10/10 DLC!!! (there are some minor issues, sure, but those are GRRM's fault so idc)
Young Radahn and pre shattering Carians my favs .. except I didn’t like the Radahn so I need to redraw it bye
Is this a spoiler? It's kinda a spolier... anyway...
WHY IT IS SO ACCURATE, TAYLOR, WHY???
ELDEN RING: Animated Ode to Miquella
Comments are awesome😂😂😂
“Possession”
Okay but why mohg and Radahn I hear you all asking, I get it, that seems odd to me too until I realized, they are the ONLY demigods that don’t reject and remove a single part of themselves. The only ones that are “whole”. Rykard becomes snake man. Ranni rids herself of her body. Godwyn loses his soul. Malenia gives up her memories to the scarlet rot. Morgott not only shaves his horns but he also purges himself of his entire curse at the end of the fight. Let’s go beyond siblings. Godfrey gives up his savagery. What HASNT Marika given up. Rennala has lost her faculties to heart break and more. Godrick grafts. Messmer has a bajillion seals on his body. Melina’s body has been burned away at some point leaving her just a spirit.
There is a huge significance to the fact that Miquella has taken the only two demigods who gave up nothing… and forced them to lose a part of themselves. Mohg lost his soul and Radahn lost his body (and his horse 😭). It’s fascinating how they both gave up nothing. Mohg let his horns take his eye out and just left the golden order without any real retaliation (yet, his dynasty was still growing ofc, there’s something to be said for growing one’s forces after all). He really seemed to just accept a lot happening to and around him and then firming it. He’s got shit to do. A cult to run. Blood to, idk, bathe in or whatever. The bloodflame is fascinating though. More on that in a moment. Radahn embraces his heritage just as much as Mohg embraces his own. He embraces the red hair AND he embraces the lion. He doesn’t even give up Leonard! That’s actually story significant symbolism! And the symbolism I think is that Miquella wanted demigods who would not reject. If they didn’t reject any part of themselves, then they would truly embody compassion.
What got me thinking about this was Morgott actually and I was sitting here wondering, what is the significance of him vomiting during the bossfight? Like what was the decision there from a director perspective, why isn’t her just doing a big explosion of Omen Bairns or something and then it occurred to me that this is WHY he’s completely purged of his curse at the end of the fight. Morgott is blessed in his final moments after giving his entire life to the Erdtree by having his curse that stains the very throne he sits on purged from his body and he doesn’t even realize it. “Thy part in such shame shall not be forgiven!” And there is so much omen curse in his body, you don’t understand. He has more omen blood on his hands than anyone else alive. He has to vomit GEYSERS of it out. We are the agent of his mother and we push him to the breaking point where at last he can be purged of this critical mass of omen curse. Morgott’s story is defined by FEELING alone, but in truth, he is loved by the crucible of life, by the Erdtree, by his father, even by his mother, misguided as she was. His final words ache so much in my chest. “We are all forsaken” and “Thy deeds shall be met with failure just as I” NO MORGOTT YOU SUCCEEDED. THE ERDTREE EMBRACED YOU, YOURE FREE OF YOUR CURSE NOW. ITS OKAY, ITS ALL GONNA BE OKAY, YOU MADE IT.
I sit and wonder how many times he polished the thrones himself on hands and knees, worried that some of his curse may have fallen upon them. I wonder if he felt the curse leaving his body and felt disgust because he thought he deserved to suffer longer.
im not sure it is consider this finished but i might as well post my other radahn art for today :3c
Children of the moon ⚖️🌕☄️
Between running through the seamless coop mod with a bunch of friends and also doing a few single player runs to polish off the last steam achievements my mind has been nothing but elden ring for several months and the blorbos have to break out.
If you could get one of these characters their own endings, which one it would be?
I'm writing some self-indulgent fic about Messmer and I imagined what would happen, if he would burn for our sake at Giants' Forge, like, would be similar to Melina thing or Frenzy thing? So, I started to think about others and I want to hear other people's thoughts and see, if people yearn more for twinks or muscle mommies.
So, I'm starting with just demigods, because it would be impossible to fit NPC's and some bosses I think could give interesting endings (like Ymir/Metyr or Placidusax/Bayle).
Also, didn't add Godwyn, because technically, he has his own ending already, but also isn't really sentient, like, that man is a whole mess. And Ranni already has her own special ending, so she can sit this one.
Please, write down why you choose specific demigod and what their ending would look like! I personally imagine Messmer's ending with him burning down himself Ranni style, to stop influence of serpent on himself and to allow Tarnished to go into Erdtree, maybe also giving us special mending-rune, rune which would burn so strong, it would block all Outer Gods influence from Lands Between, as it were misguided fingers and gods that made his mother's and his life nightmare, maybe he would do some ritualistic cleanse of his sins. Tell me your ideas! Edit, after poll ended: MESSMER'S SIMPS COME TOGETHER, WE WON!
Gonna be real with you guys I'm getting sick of the Malenia Vs Radahn debate again (oh my god what a shocker Internet debates are driving people insane)
The whole point of the battle was that it was a pointless tragedy cause both parties were equal opposites. Malenia is a Dex and Faith build, Radahn is a Str and Int build; Malenia rejects the Golden Order, Radahn embraces it (moreso Godfrey tbh); Malenia's got no poise, Radahn is the poise (I'm joking w/ this one).
Even despite their differences, both had similarities, like how their armies are extremely devoted to their leader and how both are insane on the battlefield. Just like other characters, they fit perfectly into Elden Ring's theme of perfect opposites (take Marika and Radagon for instance)
No attribute they bear outweighs any others, so the battle is literally the definition of 'Unstoppable force Vs Immovable object'. Inevitably, it ended in disaster for both sides: Malenia is losing her memories and self and is only being driven by her blind faith in Miquella, whilst Radahn and the entirety of Caelid are rotting away, waiting for someone to put him out of his misery. No one benefitted from this fight or got the better outcome, which makes it the perfect tragedy that could've been so easily avoided had their Great Runes not corrupted them.
malenia my beloved how did we get here
Bro just finished elden ring
Where’s my ending where Radahn rides off happily into the sunset rot free with his horsey
