Soobin

The cafe was quiet, just the way he liked it. This was your meeting place; even if the place was closed, the two of you would meet here. He got here early, the table in the corner waiting for him as always. The owner had smiled at him and said hello, recognising him as a long-time customer.

As he pulls his earphones from his pocket and begins to detangle them, he unconsciously bounces his leg, an old habit. Soobin's thoughts are distracted, the new song he wants to show you by his favourite band occupying his mind. He's sure you'll like it - he's slowly converted you to a fan over the years.

Once the wires of the earphones are all straightened out, and he plugs them into his phone. The ear with a green sharpie heart is his side, the one with the blue is yours, a little faded from so many bus rides and time spent in bed sharing music together.

The bell on the door grabs his attention, and he looks up - and remembers. It wasn't you who he was meeting. This isn't your meeting place anymore. He feels guilty about being excited, more guilty about forgetting that he's supposedly moved on. Still, he grins painfully convincingly as she takes the seat across from him, as if this was what he had been expecting all along. He tries to figure out how he could have forgotten that this is how things are now, nodding as she is talking, although he doesn’t hear a word.

Yeonjun

Yeonjun doesn't know what day it is, what time it is. All he knows is his phone is ringing, dragging him from his much needed sleep. With a long groan he rolls toward the edge of the bed, not even daring to open his eyes and expose them to the bright light of the sun he can now see from behind his eyelids. Which means he hasn't looked at the caller ID. Which means he answers the way he normally would, half asleep and his brain not quite engaged. He answers with your name.

But it's not you. The voice that replies is so different from yours that it snaps him awake entirely. He is so disappointed he doesn't even panic, his voice so groggy he can play it off that she heard him wrong. After a short conversation, most of which he wasn't paying attention for, he throws the phone into the covers and wonders if he's made a big mistake by starting something new.

Beomgyu

He can't remember much about the dream, only your smile, your eyes, and your hand in his. Now he's awake, and the bed is familiarly warm, the sound of soft breathing behind him. He rolls over with a contened sigh, reaching arms out to pull you against his chest, pressing his nose into your hair. He feels a cheek nuzzle against his neck and all feels right with the world.

"Did you get a new shampoo?" he asks, voice rough with its first use of the day. He lazily pulls his head back and opens his eyes, and reality cracks down over his head like an egg when he sees her.

"No," comes her reply.

It's the first time she's stayed over, the first time anyone has stayed over but you. He was totally fine with it last night. Now it feels so gut wrenchingly wrong. Maybe he should wait a while longer before letting her stay again.

Taehyun

It's been a long, long day. Every muscle aches, and even his brain feels like a muscle with how tired he is. He drops his bag at the door and kicks off his shoes, the sofa calling to him longingly from across the room. The minute his back is on the soft cushion, he knows he'll fall asleep here, but he's not sure that he cares - he's fallen asleep worse places than this. Flicking on the TV, the first thing he sees is an ad about an upcoming movie, a remake of an old classic. He smiles.

"Hey babe," he calls out, "we should take your mom to see this, it's her favourite."

Hearing the familiar creak of the floorboards leading into the kitchen he glances up, and his smile falters. How could he have forgotten? She's looking at the screen with a confused expression, shaking her head. "No, it's not. I've never heard of it." She swings around to look at him now. "Have you even met my mom yet?"

He blinks, somehow feeling more drained than he was before. "Oh... I meant my mom."

Maybe he will go to bed after all.

Huening Kai

He's looking at the photos again, the ones in his phone that he keeps telling himself he'll delete. But every time he pulls them up to get rid of them, he finds he can't. He should, he knows he should, but it seems his head and his heart are at war.

He spends so long flicking through them, there are so many, accumulated over the years you spent together. He lands on his favourite; the two of you at the carnival. The memories the photo brings are so vivid, so precious, he swears he can remember every detail; the temperature of the air, the foods you ate, even the songs you listened to on the way home, car windows down and an impressive amount of sugar in your systems as you sang and bopped along. His mind replays the scene of the two of you on a ride, your laughter amidst the screams of other riders, clutching onto each other's arms for dear life, and how you almost dropped your phone as you reached out to capture the moment.

Kai forgets himself, forgets where he is right now, that this isn't your room he's lounging in, and a loud laugh bursts from him. When his joy filled eyes turn to meet hers, she is giving him an incredulous look over the top of her computer screen. He snaps out of it in an instant and tucks his phone away, apologising with a duck of his head. What is he going to do about those photos?

Standing on your tiptoes, you're still just shy of reaching the high ones. You hear his chuckle before his chest is pressed against your back, long arm stretching over your head and grabbing the fruit with ease. You turn and see his grin, eyes smiling too as he drops the apple into your basket.

On the tractor ride back from the orchard, the sun is starting to set, the sky blazing golden orange. Soobin wraps an arm around you, holding your waist as you drop your head to his shoulder. It's been the perfect day, and as you drive home, a good amount of apples in a bag in the back seat of the car, your hand entwined with his, the two of you chatter excitedly about what you will make with the apples. Muffins, apple pie, apple crumble, apple bread. There's enough to make a few things, and you can't wait to start, but tomorrow, Soobin promises, looking over at you with adoring eyes. He loves when you get excited about things.

The next morning, you're up before Soobin, letting him sleep later since he sleeps so well. When he does wake, he emerges from the dark bedroom to find you in the kitchen, one of the sinks full of apples that you've just washed and are almost done drying. He smiles with amusement and a little laugh, plodding over to wrap his arms around you and rest his chin over your shoulder.

"Have you even eaten breakfast?" he inquires, voice all rumbly.

"Of course," you reply brightly, setting the last apple down carefully atop the others in the dry sink. Wouldn't want to bruise them now that you're going to use them.

Soobin snickers. "What did you have, an apple?"

You swipe at him with the towel, but he's already moved, knowing you well enough to see it coming. He's over at the sink, washing his hands before you can say anything more.

And so, the day is spent slicing, peeling, and measuring, enjoying each other's company. Smiling to yourself as Soobin hums happily as he works the whisk. Soon, the whole kitchen smells like cinnamon and baked goods, so excited that you both want to start eating it already. The two of you can't help but excitedly stand together, peering into the oven as it works its magic.

A perfect weekend.

When the photos hit the internet, you weren't even in the country. Neither you or Soobin saw the articles, the tweets, messages from the band's management, or even teasing texts from the members. You were so far removed from it all, and blissfully happy.

It was the longest vacation you'd had together, with Soobin finally having the time off to travel out of Seoul. Sure, you'd gone with the boys for tours when allowed, but it was finally just you and your boyfriend – in a place where he wouldn't be recognised, and with no work schedules to squeeze time together around.

For the first couple of days, you didn't leave the hotel room, the 'Do Not Disturb' sign a blessing. No early calls, no waking up to knocks on the door or an empty bed. Just sleeping in, waking up and ordering lunch, then napping together or watching a movie. You didn't even mind the jet lag; it was a good excuse to stay in bed and cuddle.

On the fourth day of your stay, you explored the hotel, making it to the in-house restaurant for breakfast. The place was quiet – off season at this time of year, the waitress explained. There was a moment where you thought she recognised Soobin, with the way her eyes kept flicking up and between the two of you as she wrote down your order, but then, as she leant down to take your menus, she smiled and made a comment about how cute of couple you were. Soobin grinned, half shy and half proud, reaching for your hand and placing a kiss to the skin as you were left to yourselves again.

It's a change of pace to walk around the city and not have phones pointed at Soobin. To not hear screams or gasps or whispers at every turn. The two of you wander freely, sans masks or dark sunglasses, in the light of day. There's plenty of time to dawdle, enjoying the sights, going wherever you're drawn to go. The city is beautiful, and shopkeepers and cafe owners greet you with friendly smiles as you stop by.

The freedom Soobin feels is evident in the way he carries himself and how he keeps looking over to grin at you. You find an ice cream parlour and share the dessert on a bench, watching birds and clouds, the occasional person passing by with a cute dog that you both get excited over. When you move to get up, Soobin grabs your hand and tugs you back to his side, wrapping an arm around you with a chuckle. The sunlight and cool breeze lull you into a somewhat tranquil state. You don't think about home or what's to come after this retreat from real life. Meandering back to the hotel as the sun is setting, you catch a mesmerising sunset from the viewpoint of your room's balcony.

The bath tub in your hotel room is big enough for the both of you – two and a half, you tease at the way your boyfriend's feet stick out over the edge. Still, this was a luxury you never got at home; the tub at both of your addresses too small to fit the two of you at once. And, you point out, it's nice to enjoy a quiet bath without rambunctious maknaes playing doorbell dash in an otherwise quiet hotel. Maknes and Yeonjun, Soobin adds.

He plays quiet music on his phone to add to the atmosphere, humming along softly as he places his hands on your shoulders, applying gentle pressure until he feels the muscles relax. Then, he picks up one of your hands from the edge of the tub to trace with his finger, eyes following the lines of your palm. You watch, almost hypnotised, as his large fingers fold over yours, the rest of you encapsulated between his long arms and legs. Between the low lighting of the bathroom, the warmth of the bath, and his voice, you're sent into a light sleep, only waking when you're pulled from the water, which has turned lukewarm.

You mumble an appoplogy, eyes opening for only a moment before they droop to a close again, and he whispers something back, but you don't take it in; mind and body too relaxed. Feeling the mattress underneath you as he sets you down on your back, you sense something being wrapped around you and realise it's one of the hotel robes, but you can't find the will to help him get your arms into the sleeves. You hear yourself giggle and Soob's chuckle echo back, his forehead pressing against yours for a moment before it's gone, and you wonder why. Thoughts of how much you love this – feeling like you're in your own little world, where there's only the two of you – flood your mind, and you almost start to drift off again until you hear the sheets rustle beside you.

Soobin's hair tickles your jaw as he kisses your neck, arms finding your waist in the dark. His skin is warm and still damp, and this somehow adds to how sleepy you feel. Your arms are too heavy to reach for him. Soon, his movements still, his cheek resting against your collar bone, and you're both out.

It isn't until you're in the airport, full from breakfast at their swanky little restaurant, and having perused all the little shops to pass time, that Soobin finally sits down and opens his messaging app to flick his members a selfie of the two of you with your luggage and sad faces to say you're on your way back. His eyebrows draw together, lips moving wordlessly as he sees how many unread texts are in the group chat. But not just normal conversation that's been going on without him, as his eyes register your name multiple times. Scrolling back, he finds the first message he hasn't seen – a link to a popular tabloid. The first thing he sees is a candid photo, definitely Beomgyu, and definitely you, though thankfully most of your face is obscured by the shadows of night as you walk from the back door of a stadium to a waiting van. Then he sees the title. The members apparently find it hilarious, but as he backs out of the group chat and sees numerous messages from management and other staff, he knows the company isn't taking it as lightly.

He clicks his phone as you sit down beside him, and despite the storm that he knows is coming, he can't help but smile at how content and loved-up you still look. He decides he'll wait to fill you in, let you enjoy the end of the trip. He himself feels like he's on a love high, his heart warming up as you thread your arm through his and drop your head to his shoulder.

Even after you've been together a few years, you still catch Soobin admiring you as if he's smitten; your beauty and grace never wear off for him, and he still gets a little flustered and stuttery. You know he would spend every second of the rest of his life by your side, but you still want him to properly live it, not hide away with you all the time. So you let him introduce you to his friends, hard as it is for you to be around humans, and tag along to spend time with them for as long as you can stand. You find it gets easier each time, and more worth it to see your boyfriend laughing and enjoying time with his buddies.

Though Yeonjun knows you can't cry, he seems to be tuned in to your emotions. It's as if he can sense when you're upset. He knows you're older than him—though you've only given him a ballpark figure of just how many years you've seen—but, you're still his baby. He never lets you wall him out; even if you think it's too disturbing for a human to hear or he won't be able to understand, he wants to try. As the only person who knows your true nature, he wants to be someone you can open up to, tell all your secrets and fears to. He feels he can take it, because he loves you.

Beomgyu wants to hear all the stories—the real, true ones, not legends and lore that he can find on the internet that could just be foktales—and he wants to hear them from you. So many late nights are spent talking, Beomgyu mostly listening and throwing out questions and comments to your information. He listens so intently, eyes growing wider and wider, wrapping you even more around his little finger, especially when he breaks into an impressed smile during your recounts of things you've seen or done. When it's very late and Beomgyu refuses to sleep, too enthralled by the conversation, you retort to a little trickery; you gently brush your fingers through his hair over and over until his eyes start to grow heavy, continuing to talk in your quiet musical voice, until you've lulled him off into a deep sleep.

Taehyun has always been the strong one, but with his vampire partner, he often forgets that he's weaker and more vulnerable. Despite his love being immortal, he still acts in a protective way of them; walking on the side of the sidewalk on which he can shield them from threatening looking oncoming foot traffic, doing the heavier and more dangerous jobs around the house. It's natural to him. He doesn't even consider the fact that you don't need him to do these things. He won't admit it, but he's a little embarrassed that you can lift him off the ground with such ease.

Huening Kai is big and clumsy, while you are graceful and dexterous. You're always catching things he knocks over or drops before they can hit the floor, Kai apologising every time he notices your quick save. You just kiss his cheek and reassure him with a smile. The two of you are so in love, and Kai can't help but think about the future—the one where you live forever and he doesn't. It pangs his heart, the thought of you moving on and finding someone else after he's gone, and he often has nightmares about it. It takes a while for him to come clean about the context of the dreams you wake him from, and you're quick to make him understand that falling in love is not something you do often, with vampires or humans. It's just something that happened because you happened to meet him.

"Now, are absolutely positive you wanted to stay the night tonight? There is no pressure whatsoever," Soobin stated.

You smiled lovingly at your boyfriend as he took your duffle bag for you. He was just too cute. You weren't sure who was more nervous - you or Soobin.

He placed your bag in the backseat, so you could sit comfortably in his car. You leaned over to press a kiss to his jawline lingeringly to help ease his nerves. "Baby, I promise, I want to do this. You've been over to my place a few times, and you are opening your door to me. It feels right."

"This is a big step, baby. No turning back." "With you by my side? There's no place I'd rather be."

Soobin's heart soared at your words. He felt a light blush take over his cheeks, but he wasn't embarrassed about it. Not like at the beginning of your relationship. Before, Soobin couldn't help how easily he was affected by you. You were the best thing to enter his life. He was worried how easily he could become flustered was a turn-off. Yet, you found it one of your favorite things about Soobin.

He leaned over his console so he could press a gentle kiss to your lips. You couldn't fight off the smile on yours as you kissed him back gently. If you had it your way, you would just stay in this moment forever. But you also were excited for your first night at the dorms with Soobin.

Unwillingly, he pulled back from the kiss first. But didn't start driving until he pecked your lips for good measure.

"You know, we can kiss all we want when we get to your place," you reminded him.

That's all it took for Soobin to turn his keys in the ignition. You couldn't help but laugh at his actions. He definitely was more of a golden retriever boyfriend than he liked to let on.

The drive over to the dorms was quite peaceful. Words didn't need to be spoken as you two were just enjoying the company of one another. Music was playing from the car's speaker while your gaze was on your interlocked hands. Every now and then, you would squeeze his hand gently. You watched also how is thumb would run over the back of his hands.

One of the things you adored about your relationship with Soobin was that words didn't need to be exchanged to know how he felt about you. He often showed it in other ways, like opting for self-care nights when he knew you were feeling down or taking photos of things that remind him of you.

Yet, you did find it a bit odd how he didn't mention quite yet what you two were up to for the evening. You figured maybe you would be stopping by the convenience store for snacks or maybe even going for dinner before stopping at the dorms.

But before you knew it, you already arrived at the dorms.

"Come on, jagiya. Let's get you inside," he stated. He never used a tone with you that made it sound like he was ordering you around. Soobin had too much respect and care for you. His goal in life was just to provide for and love you. He never wanted his intentions too be twisted.

Your sweet boyfriend has always been known to overthink the little things. Just another quality you ordered about him.

Soobin grabbed your bag for you after turning off the ignition. He slipped out of the driver's side, taking you a bit by surprised. You thought you'd be the one carrying in, but not under Soobin's watch apparently. He pouted playfully when he saw you slide out of the car on your own.

"I was going to get the door for you," he whined. "You're too cute, baby," you giggled.

You walked over towards Soobin, standing on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek. That instantly made his pout disappear. His one hand held the handles of your bag while the other one rested on your lower back.

You weren't a stranger to the dorms. You often came over for dinner, or to hang out with all the boys when their schedules allowed. Being the leader, Soobin never wanted to create tension in the dorms. He always wanted it to be a place where all the guys could relax after a long day.

But as you got closer to Soobin, your presence was more and more requested by the other four. Truly, they quickly became family to you.

You punched in the code to the dorm once you arrived at the front door. Did the others know you were staying the night? Did Soobin warn them? Either way, you were excited to be taking this next step with your boyfriend.

The doorbell rang as it opened, signaling your arrival. Soobin allowed you in first as you quietly slipped off your shoes. He followed suit after locking the front door. You couldn't help but notice how oddly silent it was in the dorms. You were so accustomed to being bombarded by your boyfriend's members.

However, you quickly noticed they were trying to be as quiet as possible in the living room. They were all watching a movie instead of playing video games.

"You know you guys don't have to be absolutely quiet while I'm here you teased them.

Their eyes widened as if they had been caught red-handed. Soobin sniffled his laughter as he stood behind you. His hand never left from your lower back, but you could feel his thumb caressing you which made you smile wide.

"We just want to give our hyung a good night," Huening Kai confessed. "Don't worry. I think I got that one handled." "EWWWW" rang out from the four in the living room.

Soobin laughed a bit louder before kissing your temple. "Ready to go upstairs?" He whispered to you. You nodded though as Soobin began escorting you toward his bedroom. "We'll see you guys later," he called out.

Before more comments could be spoken, Soobin got you into the safety of his bedroom. You took notice that instead of the typical floor lamp he had on, the room was a bit dimmer. You looked ahead to see that Soobin strung up fairy lights around his bedroom, just like you had in your bedroom.

You were about to question why but noticed the things laid out on Soobin's bed. He had takeout he must've had the guys bring in while he went to go pick you up. You noticed it just happened to be from your favorite takeaway place too. He also had a bag of snacks and another bag just of drinks waiting for you to go through.

You turned to look at Soobin, your mouth slightly opened. He stood back a bit, allowing you to move around the room if you desired. You didn't overlook the way he was biting his lip, fighting off a smile. Your sweet boy was nervous.

"You did all of this for me?"

Without wasting anymore time, Soobin crossed the room to get to you. His arms wrapped around you from behind with ease. You could melt into him as he held you close. "Nothing is too much for you," he whispered before pressing a kiss into your temple.

You turned your head so you could press a lingering kiss to his lips. You felt his lips curl up into a smile as he kissed you. His hands squeezed your hips affectionately which always made you weak in the knees.

"I just want you to feel comfortable here." "But I've been in your room before, Soobs," you laughed, turning around in his arms.

Yeonjun is more protective, not in a toxic way he just doesn't want anything happening to you or hurting you and will have at least an arm around your waist or shoulders in public. Needs you to be safe. Wants to take care of you and will never forgive himself if you got hurt, especially while he was with you.

Soobin is overprotective only because he cares, he wants you to be comfortable at all times even in public and especially with him, he doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable or like he's not a safe place because he wants you to come to him for things. It may not seem like it but he's most ig obvious with it, people will know y'all are dating.

Taehyun is probably a little less obvious and more so less overprotective, but he's a good balance of possessiveness rather than protectiveness. He needs people to know you're his but not in a desperate way. He's okay just holding hands with you in public but if someone tries making a move very obviously or you're clearly uncomfortable he's going to step in and verbally let em know he's yours. But he's not the type to get jealous quickly or too easily or make a big deal out of sum.

Beomgyu seems less possessive and more protective but only out of concern. He feels like your friend(s) are mistreating you? He's gonna ask you about it because he wants the best for you. Someone seems to be getting aggressive with you and especially a strange man? Hell no he's stepping in and telling them off. He seems like someone who'll try to avoid conflict but won't be too scared to make a scene if he has too. He just wants you to be safe and happy more than anything.

Idk I just don't see Kai as someone who would be overly protective or possessive. He's the last one who would be getting into conflict in public about something and probably re-direct you somewhere else if someone is making you uncomfortable to get you away and forget about it while the other boyfriends deal with it lol. He'd prefer to distract you and let you know that you're safe. It's easier to protect you that way.

PDA with them is different

Yeonjun likes PDA, just not sucking faces and groping ofc. Things like hand holding, cheek kissing or little pecks on lips, hugging, simple things.

Beomgyu has such a comforting presence, me thinks. Gets you your favorite snacks, foods, drinks, lets you in his comfortable clothes with his cologne on it, probably try and make you crack a smile. But he'll let you lay on him and lean on him for support and he's a good listener too ! Will hold you for as long as you need.

Taehyun is also a great listener and doesn't mind listening to your problems if you have anything to say, he wants you to trust him and be comfortable with him. A little quieter but doesn't leave your side and if he's getting something for you, you're coming with him. Watched your favorite movies and comfort shows, etc. he's just really good at making the situation and environment comfortable for you and safe. Also soft spoken n looks at you so fondly.

Hueningkai wants to see you smile again, hates seeing you sad or cry, his heart aches. He'll try and lighten the mood and make you giggle or smile. Cuddles the sadness out of you, smothers you in affection and lets you do whatever you want if it makes you feel better. I really don't think he'd care considering he's pretty fluent in English. He would definitely like to learn things about your culture, traditions, etc that you do and would love to be more educated on it. Talking and communicating wouldn't be a problem at all although I think he'd be so touched and feel so loved if you tried and learn korean for him, even if it's just the basics or some sentences. Literal heart eyes dude w/ the fondest smile. I think he's interested in visiting your home town and places you love. hes very sweet and open minded.

I feel like he also wouldn't care too much but would prefer if you knew some Korean but wouldn't really bother him too much if you didn't. I can see him being fascinated by some foods or other things that you eat or watch that isn't really where he grew up and is so interested, resulting in him asking lots of questions. He tries to be respectful too if you have a religion or a tradition so he's definitely educated more on things. He hates when you or him get judgmental stares because you're an american / foreigner.

I don't think he prefers it but I don't think he'd be against trying it or wouldn't fall for one. You probably would have to give him some lessons more so on pronunciations rather than English itself but only if he asks, he sometimes do. I think he'd forget sometimes you're a foreigner so when you don't understand sum he's like ???? ...ohhhhh lemme explain, lol. But he doesn't really act differently with you tbh, would definitely offer teaching you Korean a lot though lol. Definitely isn't embarrassing by you being a foreigner though.
