Yes in the books she talks about how she’s not taken seriously because she’s blonde, and I understand wanting the video content to be close to the books (we all hated the movies for not following that reason), but do you think that a black girl with braids is gonna get much more respect? You could tell from subtle hints from adults in the show like in the train scene, in the gas station scene, that she just wasn’t taken as seriously as Percy or Grover was. Whether black or white, they have the aspect of “ridiculous girl doesn’t know anything” down. Annabeth cares so little about her looks, so why should YOU care about her looks?
