The Hebrew word 'Shalom' is generally recognized to mean 'Peace' or harmony, but another secondary and perhaps more important definition is Wholeness.
When there is peace things are not split apart but instead are joined together. Dissention or divorce in marriage? The solution is coming together as one PIECE in PEACE. Conflict between countries or warring parties? The solution is united back together in PEACE with each other, not separate. In fact, whenever you see the word peace simply substitute the word WHOLENESS and this will become abundantly clear.
Instead of 'Imagine World Peace' say 'Imagine World Wholeness'. Instead of 'Being at Peace' think 'Being in Wholeness.'
You see, instead of being one whole unit in harmony, the opposite of that is to be in piece(es.) Sadly this is what has happened in families, marriages, communities and in politics. Instead of working towards being whole, people are working towards being separated and split into pieces of 'for' or 'against', or 'left' or 'right' or 'haves' or 'have nots.'
Piece will never bring Peace, and the only real chance of real Peace is the Prince of Peace. If you ask Jesus Christ who is the only real SOURCE of Peace to be your Prince-of-Peace and follow His ways, you will not only be at peace but will be made the way God intended you to fully be – in wholeness, love, and completeness.
“Depart from evil, do good. Seek PEACE (NOT Division!) and Pursue It!!” - Psalm 34:14

If there is one thing that people say they want most in the world, it is PEACE, but what is peace?
Popular perception is that 'peace' means 'Lack Of Conflict' and while that is true, a deeper definition of peace is WHOLENESS.
You see, the opposite of PEACE is PIECES, so just as conflict divides people, true peace brings people together into WHOLENESS, and this is what Jesus meant when he said:
“I am leaving you with a gift— Peace of Mind and Heart. The peace I give is a gift The world cannot give. Do not be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27
This is why as today’s scripture verse says we must pursue and seek peace for the sake of people and the entire world, and that True Peace is only found from heaven above and not from earth below. That’s why Jesus said two verses earlier in John 14:26 that He would send the Holy Spirit and that He Will TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and that message is teaching wholeness to people and to a divided, broken world.
Friend, seek peace and pursue it, because the wholeness that His perfect peace begins in you will bring you from this life to the next...and will also help bring the TRUE PEACE of WHOLENESS to the world.

MEMORIES
She was alone walking, silently humming to entertain herself as she approached her apartment. She reached for her keys and was about to open the door but was stopped as a familiar song was heard, it was coming from the opposite side of her apartment.
Their favourite song was playing, she smiled bitterly as memories started popping and played like a film on her mind. A tear falls on her cheeks followed by another till they continuously fall. She closes her eyes tight, her hands moving to wipe them but still, they keep falling.
Minutes passed and she was rooted to her place, listening to it till realization hit her. He's gone, those days are over. She slaps her cheeks lightly, mumbling trying to convince herself to let go and move on. She opens her door, entering the room, slowly closing the door behind her. She leaned on the wall as tears started flowing again nonstop. This time she didn't stop her emotions from consuming her, she didn't bother to wipe off those tears.
“I miss you” she weakly utters as a face of someone she loves appears in front of her, he is there smiling brightly as if he was still alive. She reaches to touch him but it quickly fades, it's her, reminiscing the past again.
