Note: Alot of the fics don't have the whole goth fam as the central focus but as an in accompaniment to a ship (Mishanks or ZoSan) but in all stories all members of the goth fam feature heavily.

Do I even have to say it or can you see the vision?
This is just very Mihawk. I mean he lives by the blade ever meaningful relationship he has (except perona) is defined by it and he one day hopes to die by it.
You get the sense that he is more sword than person that Yoru is probably his soul made physical form.
And
(I swear I couldn’t find a credit for this anywhere so if you have an idea please let me know)
But yeah this is very Perona and Zoro. I can imagine Perona just telling Zoro all her fears like her deepest fears that she’ll never really belong anywhere and Zoro dumbass that he is will just be like “well you’re here now aren’t you” and down a bottle of absinthe. Like he just has the bluntest form of reassurance it’s honestly so nice. And if Zoro (maybe after he loses his eyes or just after a really bad day) feels like what if l he won’t even beat Hawkeyes what will that make of him then and perona would laugh in his face and tell him he’s still young and the old man’s just gonna keep getting older so who knows maybe sim for his bad hype. And then she’ll paint his nails.
Like they just feel like they would never actually, out loud in the exact words, reaffirm each others dreams or dismiss their fears but Zoro will let Perona paint his nails and do her share of the chores and Perona will make stitch up his cuts and make him a snack and they’ll know.
It’s interesting that despite Kuma probably knowing of Mihawk’s reputation for ruthlessness and being a warlord for atleast 3 years he’s actively seen his apathy. But he must have seen something else to send two kids he was actively trying to help to his island (that is considering his powers don’t have a mind of their own and he has to actively consider where exactly he’s sending people and not just a want or vibe)
I don’t know; he sent the strawhats exactly where they needed to go and he sent Perona and Zoro to kuraigina home of the world’s strongest swordsman and he had to know, atleast on some level trust, that Mihawk wouldn’t hurt them. And I wonder why.
Maybe he’s seen the extent of Mihawk’s various whims to combat boredom and knew the man couldn’t resist anything this interesting.
I’m bored so question for the community. What are some of y’all’s Mishanks/goth fam Modern AU headcannons?
You ever think about how Mihawk definitely does not hear his name alot?
Like there are probably only 2 people in the entire world that consistently refer to him by name. To the rest of the world he’s just an epithet. He might as well have no real name for as little as he hears it.
He’ll hear it at introductions always preface by his epithet, he’ll see it in the bounty posters and notice it in the history books. But barely anyone will ever calm him that. Just a pink headed ghost girl and the red headed half of the most complicated situationship panning 20 years.
You ever think about how Shanks probably has a thousand and one nicknames for Mihawk he cycles through at a whim but maybe Mihawk’s favorite will always be the soft way in which Shanks calls out his given name like that’s all there is too it like there’s a Mihawk that exists all on its own. No matter the situation Shanks calls him Mihawk and he has his full attention

I can’t believe I made it to this point.
After refuse One Piece for so long.
'Rona my beloved.
(Sidenote: My favourite take on Zosan is Perona just fucking hating Sanji and making it everyone else's problem.)
I wish their were more content of Johnny and Yosaku as Zoro's (adoptive) brothers like Perona and Kuina were as his (adoptive) sisters, like can you imagine the numerous dynamics and scenarios they could have!
And being doting older siblings to Zoro in their own ways because he's the baby sibling out of them
Also consider Koushirou and Mihawk as their married/divorce dads
Add on to my Yosaku, Perona, Johnny and Kuina are Zoro's older siblings headcanon (in Modern AU) is that his friends have zero clue that he has older siblings and just assume he was an orphan only child because of how vague he talks about his past, and the first one to discover this fact is none other than Sanji
They're arguing as usual, and along the line the topic of siblings comes up from Sanji yelling "Your life may have been hard, but I had to grow up with four pain-in-the-ass siblings!" With Zoro just brushing it off unimpressed responding "Oh please I have somewhat of an idea of what it is like", "Oh yeah and how's that moss brain? You view your swords as family?"
And Zoro angrily replies "Because I have four siblings dumbass!" Stunning Sanji with this new information coming to light about Zoro, but it's short-lived as he shouts "So?! That doesn't change the fact how miserable my siblings made me!", Now they're bonding arguing over their siblings and whose is worst
