RMS Olympic left Southampton on her maiden voyage. She departed with a grand send off, with crowds of people cheering her on.
you officially get a bonus one on the house!
SS Medic was a White Star Liner built for the company’s Southampton to Sydney Australia route. She was a part of the Jubilee Class, and had many crew who would later serve on the Titanic. (Heck it’s believed William Murdoch met his wife on a trip to England on the Medic) One famous example of a Titanic crewman onboard is Charles Lightoller and his epic prank of the entire city of Sidney, I won’t go into full depth but look it up it’s f*^^king hilarious. She was sold twice in her life, first to a Norwegian company as a whaling ship, and then in 1932 to another whaling company being renamed Hektoria. Sadly she was torpedoed by U-211 and U-608 and sunk in September of 1942.
3 of Medics sister ships, Afric, Runic, and Suevic.
