If anyone follows me on Ao3 I’m sure you would have seen this fic-
https://archiveofourown.org/works/33153133/chapters/82303999
Named- This is Mythic. In this fic my monster AU of the TUGS characters meet their cannon counterparts. Now one thing to note here is that the monster AU characters have already lived through the original 13 eps which is why they have their worlds Grampus and Boomer apart of their group (That’s what I’m calling a gathering of mythos and mythic)
I wont be making a separate fic for them, rather as the story progresses you’ll see that maybe a few of the mythos will exchange stories that are vexingly similar to what the tugs will experience or already have. And I’ll be making more posts like these to explain their stories and how they differ from the cannon.
For example; Titan (Ten Cents) didn’t openly reveal that he was a seraphim to his own group until some hunters cornered Solaris (Sunshine). The exchange to him being stuck on a mud bank as he was trapped in a cage. Titan fought the hunters off and the entire group were shocked to see that Titan was possibly the strongest out of them all. The only people who knew where Magister Star (Captain Star) and Herculie (Hercules) as Star often requested that Titan join Herculie on some contracts. Everyone up until that point assumed Titan was human.
I could also include some side stories about how Magister Star met Titan or how Herculie reacted to when he first saw Titan, but you guys will have to ask if you’re interested.
Alright, spoilers ahead for the next chapter and maybe the one after that for my fanfic over on Ao3 This is Mythic, you have been warned.
So I’ve introduced Zorion and Topham in the next chapter and am planning on introducing Otis, Mack, William and Zundel in the next. So I thought it would be important to talk about the structure of vampires and by prosses of association immortals since they are tied to them in a sense in the mythos world.
For this to make sense we’ll be discussing immortals first. Immortals are as you can probably guess by the label on the tin, immortal. But they come in different flavours.
100% / True immortals can not die under any situation. They can’t starve, they can’t drown, they can’t bleed out, and they can’t be crushed. The only way how to kill an immortal is to drain them of their internal magic. 90% of an immortals magic is their internal magic, while the remaining 10% is their external, that is the magic that can be used to cast magic. These percentages vary from different type of mythic, but for immortals it basically means they can do basic magic and that’s it. So at best you’ll find Otis making things levitate and summoning a cane to walk around with. These immortals also have the ability to control their physical age, so Otis chooses to look like an old man but if he needs to be more fitter for a job he’ll just make himself younger.
Next let’s move onto false immortals, 50% if you will. Unlike true immortals, these ones can die. They can’t die to any considered natural death but if they become injured enough through weaponry then they can pass. These immortals have 70% of their magic as their internal leaving the remaining 30% as external, this means they can pull off some more effort forward spells. They can control their ages to a degree but it’s not as effective as per-example a true immortal.
Next is a fake immortal and these guys are basically a five dollar cheep deal. Like false immortals they can die but these ones are far more weak, they can not pass of old age and that is it, everything else is a dirty free for all. They have minimal control over their physical age and to really try to look younger is an effort. 55% of their magic is their internal one and the rest is external, meaning they can do some more magic compared to false immortals but at the same time they don’t for a very prominent reason... fake immortals are quite often more than not, human. Their human’s who want to live forever but because you have to be born into being a true or false immortal that can’t happen.
Now for a little trivia:
If two false immortals have a child that child will be a true immortal.
Some specific mythos have immortality but are also insanely powerful. Titan is a great example, as he is a seraphim so he’s immortal. It’s like this- 200% of Titan’s magic is internal, and the remaining 999,800% is external.
False immortals are more often created from other mythos, such as if they give up their divinity for example.
Alrighty, moving onto the vampire council structure.
The vampire structure exists in a vampire clan, this can consist of a family of vampires and the ones any vampire in that family has turned.
Servants are the lowest in the structure, they can meld with shadows as a form of hiding and drink blood but that is about it. They are typically not related in any way to the clan leaders and appear to be very pale humanoids.
Brutes are the grunts or physical callings of the clan, like servants they are not typically related to any of the clan leaders. They can climb on walls and have super speed and strength, they normally look like man-bat hybrids.
Counsellors are the in between of the clan leaders and the turned they have created. They are normally pale-ish and humanoid but they can turn into wolves if they are male and snakes if they are female.
Duke’s + Dutches’s are to be wedded princes or princesses from another clan, from there the married couple can start a new clan or remain in one of the ones they came from.
Princes + Princesses are the son/daughter(s) to the clan leaders due to take the thrown from them if they don’t chose to start another clan. They have all the typical vampire abilities you’d expect. Turning into certain animals, super speed/strength, melding with shadows, hypnoses, the works basically.
Kings + Queens are the top of the clan, their basically princesses and princes ++ x50. They have the added features of being able to turn into dragons but otherwise from the mass boost in power that’s about it.
Now for trivia:
All vampire types have the weakness’s of sunlight, garlic, holy water, and a cross unless their a king or queen.
You must be born a vampire to be a princess or prince.
If any of the tears from counsellor down have a child, that child will be guaranteed to be a prince or princess.
If a prince/princess leaves the clan before being married and turns a human without their parents knowledge they immediately become a king or queen.
If the king and queen to a clan perish but their kid(s) don’t the eldest child will automatically become a king or queen. This is unfortunately what happened to Topham.
Retired kings and queens will become false immortals if they willingly step down.
That’s all I got for now, if anyone has questions don’t be afraid to ask. Bye!
A swirling dizziness in Zorran’s ears is what made him toss and turn in bed, this ringing in his ears that almost made out a song through the pressure. It was so insufferable that he would often just slam his head back down on the pillow with a plush rush of air from it. After the something-eth time of knocking his head on the pillow he finally felt his sleep win out over his confused ears, he finally nodded off into sleep with his mind knowing true bliss from the outside world, even for only a few barely conscious seconds.
When he awoke to the sun blinding his face like per the norm in his apartment, he sniffled with a breath in as he awakened. He blinked and grew out from his drowsiness of sleep as he grew more attentive of his surroundings, once he felt to how his body was positioned after a night’s sleep he turned to on his back when he felt a violent chill run up from his legs to his head, and it wasn’t the good kind. Adrenalin immediately got him awake as he sat up with a fright.
He flung his blankets aside to see what had happened under the covers when his mind suddenly drew a blank. What he was looking at was a long mass of grey scales ending in a fin, right where he felt like his legs were. His brain was at a complete crash and lack of attention as he watched what he saw, the adrenaline deciding to vacate his body. He made a subconscious test, he twitched his leg to see that the fin actually bobbed on that command like a diving board. The more he looked, the more the trickle of what was happening was slowly filling in, but it was painfully slow.
He twitched his legs again and the fin moved with a little more effort than a jerk he did before, he slowly had the feelings of his legs come back to him only they were different than what he remembered. Instead of feeling the outward tension of his hip bones connected to his legs it was completely replaced by what felt like, and looked like at a glance, fat, muscle, and cartilage. He slowly graced his hand across the area where his thigh would be to only see that his hand wasn’t normal ether.
He lifted both hands up to his sight. They had black claws tipping his fingers with stern webbing in-between them, grey scales the same as what was on his tail running up from his fingers and stopping at his elbow like a long pair of gloves, along his forearms were fins and just before his biceps the scales seemed to avoid the underbelly skins of his body as they ran up to his shoulders and down his back.
He carefully curled and uncurled his fists as he tested his hands, he gently as he could pinched the webbing trying not to cut it with his new claws only to find that it just felt like he was grabbing the skin in-between his fingers naturally. He felt the scales that trailed his arms over and followed them up to his back where he felt something different. It felt like feathers but had the texture of fins, he ran his hand up them until he ran past where he assumed his hairline would be on his neck, when he ran his hand over his head he tugged down a lock of his hair to see what was going on to only find that his hair had turned into small long scales. He brushed his hand past his ear to feel that it wasn’t normal ether, when he felt it properly it felt like another fin except a lot more sterner like the webbing on his hands.
He then looked back down at the fin in front of him. He graced his hand down what still felt like his thigh but a lot more thicker, it was strong like what felt of a constrictor snake, that feeling ended though once he got past where his knees should have been. The rest from there to the fin was a long slither of vertebrae again not to dissimilar to a snake. He ran his hand back up his tail and over his hips where the tail scales ended, but out of the corner of his eye he thought he saw something. He looked to his comparatively normal looking torso and looked to his ribs, along them were flattened gills. He ran a finger over them and it bumped with each muscle, but it also made them tickle.
Zorran snorted trying to hold back in a laugh but the noise came out rather animalistically which put him back into serious mode. He proceeded to get an actual good look at his body aside from actually just feeling what was wrong, he didn’t hurt anywhere, so he was thankful for that at least. He looked like a carp of sorts, a long grey scaled tail with a flat fin facing the sky, it had little detail about it but what it didn’t have in looks it had in power. He knew at a site that if he were to race Lillie he would win easily. That also put forth to the question on what he was exactly. Well he knew from his many years of being a hunter that he had the features to that of the cousins to merfolk, sirens.
Sirens weren’t as pretty looking unlike merfolk but what they seemed to lack in beauty of tail they made up for in power, especially with their voices. Sirens were rare and often mistaken for merfolk, some even having the thought that they were one in the same. Zorran knew better though. It would be a challenge to fight off a siren but not impossible.
He moved his new tail a little more as it swayed side to side. He then lifted it up and down. Yep, he was in control of it, and the fading of the scales from his hips to his abdomen were a confirmation that he was attached to it. He was honestly surprised but then again not so surprised when he looks down at his new lower limb, he got a lot of his panic out when he saw Zebedee for the first time as a centaur, and even more out when he found out that Zip was a werewolf. He was sort of taking this with a sense of calm… it was a lot more different when he actually owned it instead of looking at it.
He then realised his now very bad problem… he had no legs. He scooted himself over the side of his bed and let his tail land on the carpet, he knew sirens like merfolk could transform their tail into legs but he didn’t know how to do that. He quickly realised this was going to be a pain and a huge dilemma, he didn’t own anything like a wheelchair and if his colleagues saw him…
Oh god… if his colleagues saw him he’d be in a world full of trouble. He then had the panic set in, he could only think of how this was what Zebedee felt like when they first saw him.
He had to think of something though. He knew Zero would want to see him and talk to him above all else, so it seemed like he didn’t have much of a choice but to get his work colleagues attentions. They lived right across the hall from his own apartment, surly he could crawl or something that far to their door at least. As much as it pained his pride to do this though, he crawled off his bed and onto the floor to drag himself out of his apartment.
He waddled himself on his arms and hands to outside of his bedroom and into the main living area, once he was past that he opened his front door and dragged himself across the hall to in front of Zak’s door. He rested there for a second turning back onto his backside to ease the carpet burn he subjected himself to. Not moving from his spot he knocked roughly on Zak’s door to get that sense of urgency up and going.
“Zak! ZAK! This is urgent! Open your door!” Zorran continued to knock roughly when the door swung open to see Zak standing there and looking around. “Zak, down here.” Zorran said getting his work partners attention. When Zak looked down he was visibly surprised to see that A; Zorran was sitting there, and B; Zorran was some type of monster now. “Z-Zorran?” was the only thing that could come out of his mouth at that current second. “Yes, now can you help me get off the fucking floor?” his boss asked with a clearly irritated tone but also not letting it slip through that he was embarrassed about the situation.
Without missing a beat Zak picked Zorran up bridal style and carried him to inside his own apartment. He kicked a chair out and placed Zorran on it so he was at least not on the floor. “Okay, first Zeb then Zip, and now you? I’m thinking someone has cursed Captain Zero or something because this is becoming stupid.” Zak said setting up a chair in front of Zorran but also far enough away so he was clear of his tail. “I definitely think it’s a serious discussion by this point. How are you feeling though? Anything different?” “No, no. Just fine.” “What about Zug?” “I was just about to get him up when I heard you knocking.” “I’ll sit here, you go get him.” Zak nodded and walked off to go get up Zug. Not only a second later did Zorran suddenly hear Zak shriek from the direction of Zug’s room.
“Zak? Zak?! What is it? Is something wrong?” the leader got his answer when Zak came back with something cupped in his hands. He leaned his hands down gently to show a scared and shivering tiny Zug with insect wings on his back. A pixie. And not a fairy, fairies had unique butterfly-like wings and a distinct glow, and were considered the mermaids to the land world because of their beauty. Pixies though were a lot more bug-like, they had antenna and sometime multiple eyes or limbs, the sirens to the land world.
Zug didn’t appear to have multiple limbs or eyes, but he did have long antenna like a butterfly sticking out from his hair, a fluff of fur down his shoulders and chest like a chest plate of armour not to dissimilar to a moth, and some armour layering of chitin on his joins. His wings themselves looking like long tipped dragonfly examples.
Zorran looked down at the remaining youngling of his team and was now honestly worried, all who was left was Zak, and even then they didn’t know if he was some sort of blind monster like a werewolf or vampire. “This is really bad… we need to get to the docks to talk to Zero about this. …Or as much as it pains me quite possibly the Stars.” “I think it’s more over the Stars than Zero, he knows next to squat about magic like the rest of us.” Zak said. “Well then I suppose it’s the question then of how do we get down from our apartment to the docks? You’re the only one here with usable legs.” Zorran said. “I can carry you and you can hold Zug, easy.” “Down all the stairs and to the dock? Because there’s no way I’m letting you use my car since you still don’t have a licence.” “But then that’s over a half an hour walk! I’m so not gonna carry you that far.” Zorran huffed and rested his chin on his fist as he gave some thought. He then had an idea but he doubted it’d be a very good one.
He sighed before speaking. “We could call ether Zebedee or Zip.” Zak looked shocked at his boss before growing stern at him. “The last time we saw them Zeb bucked us into the wall separating the dock when we scolded Zip. I doubt ether of them want to see us.” “I could ask for Zip.” Zug said from Zak’s hands as he looked up at the two, he was still shivering though from the lack of clothes. The two older men looked down at the fae and mulled it over. “Zug has been keeping at least decent terms with Zip, I imagen if Zug could start by explaining what has happened maybe Zeb will give us a little pity.” Zak said. “Ah, as much as I hate the idea of him pitying us, we really do need the help. Zug?” Zorran asked looking down to the small human expectedly. “I 100% will once I get at least a tissue over me.” Zug said still shivering.
After Zug was given a handkerchief to tie around himself like a robe, Zak dialled Zebedee’s number and rested the phone on the table for Zug to use with Zorran and Zak behind him as they listened in. After the phone rang a bit it was Zebedee who picked up. “Hello?” “Um, hi Zebedee, it’s me Zug.” “Zug? Oh you must be looking for Zip eh?” “Yeah, but please don’t go anywhere, I need to talk to the both of you about something.” “Is it about Zak or Zorran?” “More on the lines of Zorran and me. Could you please hear me out?” “You know if it’s anything we don’t like I’m sprinting up there to give you guys a good kick right? And I might just hit a less than favourable spot.” Zug gulped as he knew if he was kicked at this size he’d likely not survive. “I doubt I’d live.” Zebedee sighed on the other end as it gave of this rolling his eyes energy before he called for Zip.
The werewolf pup was quickly on the phone actually sounding happy to hear from Zug. “Zug, hi! How have you been?” It was obvious Zip had been doing better ever since he left the Zeds, his mood having improved massively. “Honestly not to well Zip.” Zug replied. “Oh? Is it Zak or something?” “No, no. It’s… a lot more… different.” Zip and Zebedee looked at each other in a pause of confusion not knowing what that meant. “Go into talk here Zug, what do ya mean by ‘different’?” Zeb said.
Zug took a breath in, not exactly knowing how to say it when he looked back to the new attachments on his back themselves. “Umm. I think it would be best if you heard it.” With a bit of concentration, he beat his wings, the sound of them flapping together being audible into the phone. “Zug? What was that? I think a bug flew by the phone.” Zebedee said. Zorran grit his teeth in annoyance and slapped his tail on the floor, it creating a loud ‘slap!’. “Zug? You okay? That sounded harsh.” Zip said with his tone seeming to grow worried. “Oh for the love of- They’ve both turned into monsters like you guys! Zug is now a pixie and Zorran is a siren! The beating was Zug’s wings and the slap was Zorran’s tail!” Zak shouted. “Uh… yeah. What Zak said.” Zug said into the phone.
“Zak? He’s there with ya?” Zebedee asked. That immediately confused the remaining Zeds. The guy just shouted straight at the phone, how could they not have just heard him. “Yeah, he’s the one who just shouted at the phone.” Zug said. Zeb and Zip looked at each other again. “We didn’t hear anything.” Zip said. That really confused the Zeds as they in turn looked at each other in confusion. “I’m standing not that far from the phone, am I just cutting out for you?” Silence. “Zug? You still there?” Zip asked. “Didn’t you just hear Zak?” Zug asked. “No.” Zeb said. “Can you hear me?” Zorran spoke up. “Zorran? Your there?” Zeb asked. “So you can hear me and Zug but you can’t hear Zak?” Zorran asked. “No, what’s he saying?” Zip asked. “He just shouted into the phone before how me and Zorran are now monsters.” Zug said bluntly and then quickly realising how easily that came out of his mouth after all. The two on the other line shouted. “WHAT?!” Zug wrapped his arms around his head and jumped back when he fell off the table, he screamed as he fell but Zak was quick to catch him. “Zug? Zug?! Are you okay?” Zip shouted. “You just spooked him off the table is all.” Zak said as he sat Zug back in front of the phone. There was a silence again when Zak remembered they couldn’t hear him for some odd reason. “Can you guys speak on my behalf?” he asked. “Sure, Zak says you guys just spooked me off the table is all.” Zug said. “Spooked you off the table? Zug, what have you turned into?” Zebedee asked. “I’ve turned into a pixie, that’s what the wing sounds were before.” Zip and Zebedee gaped at each other when they heard that before looking back to the phone. “And what’s Zorran?” Zeb asked. “I’ve turned into a siren, the slap from before was my tail fin.” Zorran tapped his tail on the ground a little more as prof. “And what’s Zak?” Zip asked. “Zak’s fine for some god forsaken reason.” Zorran said glaring at the finale human. “Are you sure? We all though Zip was fine until he transformed on a full moon, are you sure he’s just not some sort of blind monster? I mean we can’t hear him through the phone an’ all.” Zeb said making Zak turn pale. Zorran held in a laugh at the sight of Zak suddenly turning terrified. “Snrk! I think you just scared Zak, heh-heh.” He mocked. When it was Zak’s turn to glare at him a picture from the other side of the room flung itself off the wall and nearly hit Zorran. The siren was quick to duck out the way but the photo smashed against the wall behind him, spooking everyone. “What was that?” Zeb asked. “A photo just flew off the wall and nearly hit Zorran when Zak glared at him.” Zug explained. “Making things throw and problems with electronics? That sounds like some sort of spirit.” Zip said.
The remaining Zeds all looked to Zak who looked just as surprised. He quickly turned off the light switch and looked to the others, if he was a ghost he should give off a glow in the dark. “Well?” he asked. The others squinted, they couldn’t actually tell if he was glowing or not. “Hold on, can you get a lighter or some matches?” Zorran asked. Zak tossed him a lighter he had from the counter. Zorran beckoned him back over and he stood next to Zorran out of the way of his tail. “Hold your hand out flat.” Zorran ordered and Zak did as told, holding his hand out flat in front of Zorran.
The newly transformed siren opened the lighter and turned it on, he then gently held the flame under Zak’s hand and looked down on it like a microscope. Zorran could very faintly see the yellow glow through Zak’s hand. He closed the lighter and let go of Zak. “I don’t think Zip is far off, I could see the glow faintly through you and I can’t tell if your glowing or not.” “We could head outside and then we’d be able to tell for 100%.” Zug said. “Yeah but then that becomes the thing again of how are we going to get you two down stairs? I can’t carry you that far without taking a lot of brakes.” “Do you really think you’d get tired? If you are a spirit then you should have infinite energy.” Zorran said. “I could still feel you were heavy when I carried you in Zorran, and I still feel very much alive. So if I am to end up being a dud and just still be normal then my tiredness will be completely justified.” Zak argued. “Isn’t that why we called Zeb and Zip in the first place? We wanted to ask for help?” Zug reminded them.
“You guys want our help to get out of the apartment?” Zebedee asked putting himself back into the conversation. “We originally called to ask you guys for help at least getting down to the docks because I can’t figure out how to get my legs back, and I don’t trust Zak with my car to drive us.” Zorran said. Zeb sighed on the other end of the line. “You guys still in the same apartments?” he asked. “Yeah, you think we have the money to move?” Zak said when he remembered they couldn’t hear him. He rolled his hand to Zug in a gesture of ‘go on’ as he hung his head down. “Zak says yes.” Zug said to the phone. “We’ll be there, just give us a few minutes.” Zeb said before hanging up.
Zak put the phone back on its stand and turned the lights back on, “So I guess we just play the waiting game.” He said. Zug sighed as he did his best to lay down on his back without hurting his wings. Zak gently picked him up and held him in his hands, if he was to rest anywhere he might as well rest somewhere better than a cold countertop. “Can you sit me on your shoulder?” Zug requested. Zak wordlessly rested the pixie on his shoulder, then watched as Zug moved to his turtle neck and wrapped himself in the cloth of the neck. When Zip and Zebedee arrived there was a knock on Zak’s door and he was there to greet them. It was the first time they’d been back into the apartment building since they moved out to begin with. “Zak.” Zebedee greeted, his expression telling a warning of caution. Zak didn’t waste time, right to business. “Right this way.” He let them in. Zip walked in behind Zebedee as the centaur did his best to turn the corners of the apartment before they got to the kitchen where Zorran was still sitting in his chair. The two former Zeds stopped cold and gasped when they saw their former leader. Zip looked around to see if Zug was somewhere. “Hey, where’s Zug?” he asked. Zak moved his head back a bit and pointed to the pixie resting against his neck, when Zug saw Zip he got out and walked along Zak’s shoulder to get closer to Zip, reaching his hands out in beckoning that he wanted Zip to hold him and the werewolf pup gently took him into his hands and to his chest as he gave him a look over, Zebedee looking over Zip’s shoulder to also have a look.
“You guys woke up like this?” Zeb asked as he moved to give Zorran a look over. “I woke up like this, dragged myself over to Zak’s apartment, he then saw Zug like that and woke him up, and now we’re here. We still don’t know if Zak is a spirit or something.” Zorran explained. “And what do you want us to do exactly?” Zeb asked. “Well Zorran can’t walk so he can’t drive, and he won’t let me drive his car so we were hopping you’d at least help us get to the docks.” Zak said. “Am I just reduced to a travel convenience? Seriously!” Zeb complained sitting down and tossing his hands into the air but they ended up just hitting the roof. The remaining Zed’s grew concerned that Zeb would become upset with them but Zip stepped in. “Don’t mind him, Captain Star has been making him do errands for a bit until they can sort something out for him to be able to get up to his tug boat.” The Zeds relaxed when they heard that a bit but Zak still had to ask. “So is that a no then?”
Zebedee sighed. “No I’ll take you down to the docks, you’ll probably need to talk to Captain Star anyways after Zero.” The Zeds looked at each other then back to the two former Zeds. “I can carry Zug if Zebedee carries Zorran, and then Zak can follow us to at least out the building.” Zip offered. “That works with me. Let’s just get this freak show on the road.” Zeb said walking over to Zorran and offering a hand to help him hop up to his back. Zorran nodded a silent thanks and grasped the offered hand and was then pulled up onto a saddle.
The newly transformed siren took in a look at the design, he had seen Zebedee wear his new uniform a few times but he could now see just how tailored it was to fit his needs. His saddle was a lot more seat-like and flat than compared to a normal saddle, with the stirrups being up really high like a racing saddle instead of lower, presumably because nobody would be kicking him in the ribs to go like a normal horse. The saddle itself was black leather, but the saddle cloth was the Star livery colours, with a small embroidered patch of the Star flag where his flank was, and in a lot bigger size under it was the number 10 in bright white.
Peeking out from Zebedee’s human back around his shoulder blades from under his clothes seemed to be his reins, when Zorran looked he could see it attached to a harness under Zebedee’s clothes like a back brace. But also speaking of his clothes, his new uniform had a yellow waist coat with a blue and white sailor uniform under it, and a red ascot scarf out from under the collar. The number 10 again sown onto the chest. His legs even wore compression socks with a design motif of suit cuffs.
“They really suited you up Zebedee, this all doesn’t look half bad.” Zorran said nonchalantly as a backhanded compliment while he twirled the reins in his fingers. Zebedee began to walk out once he was sure Zorran was on his back properly. “Apparently centaur fashion is a pretty good business, this is comparatively basic compared to what I’ve seen of some other things.” “He plans to buy something more heavy duty once he saves up enough.” Zip commented as he rested Zug on his shoulder and followed them out with Zak behind them all so he could close up his apartment. “Is that really a thing? Centaur fashion?” Zak asked. “Yeah, I had to head to a shop to have my saddle and everything fitted out, the entire store was mannequins upon mannequins of different types of saddles and fashion, that’s how I got these compression socks.” Zak looked down at what Zebedee was talking about. “Oh! Get a suit with those Zeb and you’ll have a really nice set.” “Centaurs do apparently have full suits, they just cost a lot and also have a lot of pieces to them.” Zip said as they approached the stairs and walked down.
When they stepped out the front door Zorran shielded his eyes a little at the light. “Zorran?” Zeb asked. “Just the sunlight, I’ll adjust.” “Uh, Zak?” Zip asked as he looked behind him to find that Zak was waiting in the doorway, not daring to take a step out into the light. Everyone else looked with watching eyes to see what would happen.
Zak held his hand out and the second his fingers touched the sunlight they turned a lot more translucent, it was for a second though before Zak pulled his hand back. The others were standing too far to see so they just continued to watch. “Zak?” Zebedee asked turning to face his former friend.
Zak swallowed, and then braced himself as he stepped out into the sun. He turned translucent with a white-ish glow and instead of Zak feeling warmer by the sunlight he suddenly turned a lot more cold. He looked at his hands and looked further down to see he didn’t cast a shadow ether, he hugged his arms close as he walked up to the group without another word. “Zeros gonna kill us…” Zug said growing pale along with the others giving their own looks of distress.
Zebedee carried Zorran all the way down to the docks while Zip had Zug sit on his shoulder and Zak trailed behind all of them, it was clear they were all rather nervous about seeing Zero, but it was something they couldn’t exactly hide from him, they’d get a visit from him one way or another. And he’d especially be looking for Zorran if he were to just up and disappear one day.
When they got down to the quayside it was just a walk until they reached ether dock. “Do you guys want to go see Captain Star first before you go see Zero? You know, to at least have a backup plan ready and a place to run to if need be.” Zebedee offered. “I’d like to take that option up.” Zug said holding onto a lock of Zip’s hair in a death grip. “I know Zero has a ton of spirit traps hanging around in the office so I’m also gonna see about that option.” Zak said. Everyone looked to Zorran. “Just sit me down, I’d like to see him first before running behind a wall.” “Are you serious?!” Zak gasped. “How the hell do you have that much trust in the guy? Theres always been this invisible force between you two that I’ve never been able to tell what it was. Why is that?” Zeb asked equally as surprised. “Me and Zero have just known each other for a long time, and no I don’t trust him, I just know how he’s going to view this… mess. And I’d rather get away under my own power first if I can.” All of the former Zeds and current looked at Zorran with perplexity before they moved over to the Star dock. “I’ll set you down on the dock so you don’t have to come in doors.” Zeb told Zorran as they walked up to the stairs that lead down to the platform.
Once they were close enough to the dock they could all hear the other Star fleet members chatting and talking. Zip grew a smile on his face and handed Zug up to Zebedee so he could run ahead, the newly transformed pixie was scared for a second but relaxed when he was held gently in Zebedee’s hat. Zip ran ahead and come into a tackling hug for Ten Cents, giving him a light squeeze around the shoulders as his hips wiggled a little bit imitating a wagging tail. Ten Cents smiled and turned around to give his pupper boyfriend a proper hug. “Hi Zip, missed you two.” He gives him a little smooch on the cheek when he saw who Zebedee was walking in with. “What the… pfft! Did the rest of them get cursed as well?” he asks Zip trying to hold in a laugh as he looked at the other remaining Zeds.
“Apparently so.” Zip confirmed. Zeb rested Zug back with Zip and then placed Zorran down on the dock. “A siren ay Zorran? I didn’t take you for a singing type.” Big Mac joked as he watched Zorran use his fin to try to cover his chest. “And you’re a selkie, I wouldn’t take you much for a singer ether.” Zorran quipped back making the other melody singing seafolk just glare, keeping his seal cloak close and hanging from his shoulders.
Sunshine actually walked up to have a look at Zug, being the only human in an entire fleet full of monsters he was always curious to see different types of monsters. “Is Zug some sort of fairy?” He asked pointing to the little human. “No he’s not Sunshine, Zug is a pixie, their like fairies but a bit more darker compared to them. Like how Hercules told you the difference between werewolves and lycans.” O.J said. “Ah.” Sunshine said in acknowledgement when he then felt Zug hang from his finger like a dragonfly or butterfly would upside down from a branch. “You okay Zug?” “I don’t wanna be this small anymore and treated like a rag doll…” the small Zed whimpered as he clung to Sunshine’s finger in a tight hold by wrapping his arms and legs around it.
“looking a little pale there Zak hm?” Top Hat teased. “Fuck off.” The spirit said flipping the vampire the bird and walking over close to Zorran and sitting down not too far from him. “Alright everyone it was funny the first time when you saw me and Zip, let’s just leave them alone. I’ll go and tell Captain Star and see from there on what we can do.” Zebedee said then knocking on the office building and walking in. (This was something I writ after seeing @the-starfleet's monster!AU. I did write more past this but it entered the more fic-y side of things since I lacked a little more info on how their version of these characters acted. So here ya go! Maybe also expect some artwork later down the line, but I'm going to work on my own stuff for a bit.)
