Mob likes to kiss and Reigen takes advantage of that (ageswap AU, underage)
ReiMob Drabbles, Ch1

Mob knows he shouldn't do this. Knows he shouldn't encourage the young boy who comes to visit him after school almost every day.
He'd like to push all the blame to Dimple, the devious green spirit that sometimes whispers into his ear (Oh look, he's wearing a new tie today and pfft, look at him trying to comb down his hair or, he cringes as his eyes roam over, I'm pretty sure those shorts weren't that short before) but he knows that's just an excuse.
"Hey Mob," Reigen calls out to him. He's only been there long enough to shed his gakuran and school bag but Mob knows what he wants. Dimple knows too and he chuckles, I better not come back to you in jail Mob
Mob makes a noise as he continues typing and Reigen takes that as his sign to continue, "let's kiss."
The way he says it, so matter of fact (as if a 14-year old kissing a 27-year old is normal), causes Mob's fingers to stutter and he's forced to delete the whole sentence he'd just typed. What was he typing?
"Why don't you do your homework...you said you needed help with...math?"
Reigen laughs, "Don't you suck at math? Isn't that why I'm here?"
Mob colors a bit because yes, he wasn't good at math but he just needs to steer the conversation away from-
"Come on, didn't you say you liked kissing me?" He's closer now, his elbows on the table as he looks directly at Mob, a grin on his face, "You look really cute when you blush, you know."
Mob looks away from those dark eyes and tries to focus back on his computer, "I'm busy."
Reigen pouts and Mob's eyes automatically move back, stare a bit too long, and that gives Reigen the motivation he needs to keep pushing, "Just one?"
It's never one, echoes in Mob's head.
"I'll do my homework and let you work afterward."
Mob watches from the corner of his eye how Reigen gets closer. He's already around the table and is peering over at what he's doing. A snort leaves him and the way his face scrunches up and his eyes light up with mirth is beautiful. He leans his hands out, placing them on Mob's thigh and he freezes up completely, "Please?"
It's only one, a voice taunts and it suspiciously sounds like Dimple, what's the worse that can happen?
Oh he can think of a few things...
"Just one," he says and turns his chair. Reigen yells out a yeah! and pumps his fist like he's just won the #1 prize to a game. It makes Mob's chest swell with happiness.
Reigen smiles at him and moves to his open arms. He's taller than Mob like this and Mob secretly thinks that Reigen likes that. Reigen brushes their noses together before kissing him. It's really just a press of lips and they stay like that for a few seconds. Mob's hands move to settle on Reigen, both around his waist.
He likes staying like this, feeling those chapped lips meshed with his, breathing in the smell of salt and warmth, enjoying the tranquility he feels at having someone he loves so close. It all makes him dizzy and he's about to move away to tell Reigen that's enough, go do your homework when something changes. He opens his eyes when he feels Reigen's hand move up his shoulder and cup his jaw. They're no longer lip locked, but their breaths mingle and they still touch. That's when he feels it.
His fingers dig into Reigen's hips and where did he learn this?!
Reigen's tongue is bold as it swipes against his lips. He knows what this means and he knows he should stop but he also likes it. Likes how Reigen is gripping his jaw, likes the feel of his prying tongue and demanding gaze. Mob relents, let's him roam his mouth and it's a very simple kiss, all things considered. It makes him wonder if Reigen knows what to do next and he gets his answer when he feels those chapped lips inch away, Not yet
He puts more pressure on Reigen's hips, pulls him closer, and pushes his tongue to explore Reigen. He licks his chapped lips, getting them moist and smooth, plays with his tongue, bites his lips, his hand moves to press them closer, tangle in his hair-
A moan brings him back to reality and he pushes Reigen back a few inches. They're both breathing hard and if someone walked in there'd be no doubt as to what they'd been up to.
Then Reigen's soft voice breaks the semi-silence, "Wow...that was better than I thought..."
Mob feels a headache coming and he asks, "Where did you learn this?"
It seems Reigen is all better now as he pulls at the hem of his shirt, untucking it from his pants and flattening it out, "Oh you know, just watched an AV with the guys. Seems they got it from their brother's stash and we were all curious," he shrugs.
Mob frowns, "You're all too young to be watching that."
"But Mob," Mob knows that teasing tone and wonders what hole he's dug himself into this time, "I'm a healthy teenager. If I don't do this once in a while I'll be pent up, unless you're offering to help of course~"
Mob groans and turns back to his computer, don't think about it, don't think about it
Reigen laughs and Mob is grateful that the blonde is taking out his work because he's sure he only has so much patience.

Reigen is old. He knows that now, has known it since he turned 30, and remembers it every time Mob is close. Every time he holds the younger male, feels how smooth his skin is, sees that there are no white hairs or wrinkles on him, touches the muscle he's been building since his middle school days, and it scares him.
His boyfriend is ten years his junior, and he has nothing to offer the growing man.
His phone flashes and the name Mob lights up, a picture of a smiling Mob staring back at him. He clenches his jaw and lets it vibrate two more times before it displays two missed calls. An amused chuckle startles Reigen and he quickly flips his phone so the screen can't be seen. Ekubo is peering down at him. Damn, he'd forgotten to close his office door!
"Soooo, ignoring the brat now are we?"
Reigen forces a smile as he slides his phone to the side, far away from Ekubo (he wasn't going to make that mistake again), "Of course not..."
It's a bit painful to smile and he feels his face twitch. He clears his throat and turns back to his desk, pretending to arrange papers. He clicks the mouse to his computer rapidly and wishes the screen would turn on quickly just this once. Ekubo straightens out, raising a brow at the obvious lie.
"You know," Ekubo begins and enters Reigen's office without permission. He ignores the hey from the blonde, "I saw him with that girl, what's her name? Tsubomi? They were at the gate."
Reigen freezes as Ekubo hits one of his greatest doubts. Tsubomi, Mob's first crush and the girl he'd been pining after for more than he's known the guy! She was the reason he'd started working out in middle school and, he grips the papers in his hand, she could also give Mob so much compared to him. They were close in age, she could give him a family, she was smart and had a bright future, and he'd seen the interest. He'd seen the way she would talk with Mob, casually touch his shoulder, and sit next to him during group projects.
And...they looked good...next to each other.
"Oh look there they are," Ekubo exclaimed and whistled, "Didn't know Shigeo was such a lady's man. You know, I saw that the alien otaku was dragging him around the other day too."
"Kurata," he replied automatically. His computer was finally on and he could put in the grades for the essays he'd just finished grading. He was quickly going through the pile but then paused when he got to Mob's paper. It was a pretty hefty length compared to what Mob normally turned in (bare minimum) and he'd even done a great job at the introduction. He typed in an 87 into his computer and then felt the paper snatched away.
His brow twitched as Ekubo sat on top of his desk, "Did Shige actually write this?!" He was flipping through the pages quickly, skimming and muttering (he never writes anything this detailed for my class and he actually knows what this word means?!) and Reigen couldn't do this anymore.
He blankly stared at Ekubo, "Why are you here?"
Ekubo stopped reading Mob's essay and shrugged exaggeratedly, a smile on his face but Reigen knew better, "Can't I come visit a friend? We haven't talked in a while."
Before Reigen could answer, his phone started vibrating again. He ignored it and Ekubo smirked, "Aren't you going to get that?"
Typing echoed alongside the phone, "No."
"What if it's important?"
"I doubt it."
Two more rings and it went silent. Ekubo sighed and crossed his arms, "It looks like you're almost done there, how about we go out for a couple drinks, my treat!"
Reigen slowed his typing. That actually sounded like a good idea. He'd been stressing out over a lot of things lately and it would be good to let loose since the school week was technically over for him. And while Ekubo liked to wreak havoc, Reigen also trusted him as his drinking partner. Not to mention that the taller man hardly ever offered to treat him.
"It's decided then!" Ekubo grinned as he slammed Mob's essay on the desk and got up. He grabbed Reigen's arm and tried pulling him out of his chair.
"H-hey, wait! I still need to finish putting the grades in!"
"You can do that at home, pack up so we can go, I'm starving! Where do you want to go?"
That's when Reigen's office door was slammed open (when had it been closed?) and Mob stood there, phone in hand and his eyes glaring at Ekubo, then moving to where he was holding Reigen.
"Oh hey Shigeo," Ekubo couldn't help how his grin widened, "fancy seeing you here. I thought you'd left already."
Mob didn't answer for a few seconds, "I need to talk with Professor Reigen."
"Uh, actually Mob-" Not good, not good! "-my office hours are over for today," Reigen couldn't even look at his boyfriend, "Why don't we talk later? Or send me an email if it's really important." He grabbed his bag, stuffing the essays in there, shut off his computer, and grabbed his suit jacket-
"Arataka," Reigen paused and finally looked over at Mob. His jaw was set, his hand was gripping his phone, and it didn't look like he'd be moving from his doorway anytime soon if his stance had anything to say about it. But what really got him was the use of his given name. Mob hardly ever called him Arataka, especially not in front of school staff (even though it was Ekubo).
Mob was determined. He sighed, setting his stuff down, "Alright, come in. Maybe next time Ekubo."
Ekubo grinned and whispered, "I look forward to it," before walking out and leaving the two of them alone.
Mob closed the door and locked it. They were quiet for what felt like forever and Reigen was starting to sweat under Mob's gaze. He pulled at his tie, hoping to get some fresh air.
"Why are you avoiding me?" Mob's voice was soft, curious, and slightly hurt. Reigen winced. That hadn't been his intention. He'd only wanted a bit of time to sort out his thoughts...
"I'm...not avoiding you," except he was and he couldn't even look up at Mob and at least try to fake it. Warm fingers touched his chin, brought his gaze up, and he felt exposed. Mob always had a way of looking at him that left him wondering if all his secrets and insecurities had been read. His other hand moved to twine their fingers together and Reigen felt like such a coward.
"Did I do something wrong?" Mob bit his lip, "Am I not important anymore?"
Reigen's eyes widened and he squeezed the hand in his, "NO! I mean yes, I mean...Arghhh! Look you didn't do anything okay? Today's just been...it's been hard." Not a lie but not the complete truth. Reigen scowled, "And where did you even get this 'not important' idea from?"
Mob's eyes shifted to the door and Reigen felt like such an idiot! "O-oh, that was because Ekubo was being a pest!...And I didn’t know it was you..." Another lie. He was the only person who really called Reigen. His call and text history was filled with just him.
Mob nodded, and something in the sincerity and relief he saw in Mob's expression pushed him. He let go of Mob's hand and hugged him tightly, burying his face into his chest. Mob hesitated for a second before hugging him back, a frown in his voice, "Reigen, what's wrong?"
"Tell me you love me," he whispered, voice half muffled by Mob's sweater, "please Mob."
Mob hugged him tighter and nuzzled his neck, "I love you," he pressed a kiss to his ear.
"I love you," a kiss to his cheek. He noticed Reigen was crying.
He peppered kisses on his face whispering Only you and I love you and don't cry and beautiful
That last one made Reigen laugh, "Now that one's a lie."
Mob kissed his lips and shook his head, "I don't tell lies."
"Mob, I'm a mess right now, I don't even think I look good, damn, where is the tissue at," Reigen looked around on his desk. He tried to move away from Mob but he wouldn't let go, "Mob, I need to clean my face."
Mob reached into his pocket and grabbed some napkins.
"Oh thanks, let me..." but Mob moved them away from Reigen, "Mob?"
"Let me," he whispered. He let go of Reigen and pulled a couple sheets from the bag, placed them on Reigen's nose and wiped away the snot. He balled up the napkin and grabbed a couple more. This time he squeezed Reigen's nose two times and Reigen shook his head, his face heating up, "No Mob."
Mob smiled and squeezed his nose, insisting. He even pulled it a bit, "Ok, ok, just let go!"
Reigen blew his nose into the tissue and Mob carefully took care of him. He cleaned his tears with another tissue and threw them into the wastebasket next to Reigen's desk. Then he hugged Reigen again and the older man couldn't help how warm and wanted he felt.
"I was serious," Mob spoke up as his hands moved against Reigen's back.
"About?" Reigen slipped his hands under Mob's sweater and just relished the feel of their skin connecting.
"I love you and only you so please stop worrying."
"Who said I was worrying?"
Mob took a step back and Reigen looked up, "You haven't been sleeping properly."
Reigen chuckled and moved to rub his eyes as if that alone would make the wrinkles he was sure were there go away, "Well, if my students actually paid attention in class things would be different."
"I pay attention."
Reigen lifted an eyebrow, "I'm pretty sure you just said you didn't lie."
Pink dusted Mob's cheeks, "I pay attention to what's important."
Reigen laughed and shook his head, "I'll let it slide this time, and as much as I love being held by you, we do need to leave. Or at least I do, I'm hungry."
"Did you want to go eat?" Mob invited as he let Reigen gather his things again.
"I was actually going to head home and then knock out," he was sure there had been some leftovers and he was too tired now to go out. Not to mention he probably still looked a mess. He briefly wondered if he still had any beer. He was serious about letting loose.
His hand was captured again, "Can I come too? I've missed you."
Reigen looked over at Mob, at their hands, and chuckled. He wanted to cry all over again and hit himself because how could he have doubted Mob? Simple and honest Mob who never did anything he didn't want, who left him snacks in his mailbox, sent him pictures of things he found interesting when they were apart, and held him when he needed it the most.
"Yeah Shigeo, I really need you today."
A/N:
For this story, I decided to pick a 'word of the day' from dictionary.com and roll with it (though in the end it turned into something not even related to that word lol). Also thanks so much for the kudos guys T_T 50 for one chapter and like 10 of them came in while I was finishing the draft today! Hope you guys like this one too

Shigeo sighs for the umpteenth time in just one hour as he floats the glass of "alcohol" he'd given Reigen away from his clumsy fingers.
The older man had called him the night before, asked him if he was still free the next evening and he couldn't help the smile that had escaped his lips as he reassured the man (again) that he would be at his apartment right after school. He'd kept his promise, his only delay being going home to change and get Reigen's gift.
That had been at least four hours ago.
"Mooooooob," Reigen whined as he stretched over the table to try and get the glass back.
"Master, you're going to get hurt if you keep drinking," Shigeo chastised, though, in reality, he'd stopped serving the lemon sour with alcohol after the first one. It was amazing how the older man continued to become more sluggish and...drunk, "Come on, let's finish watching the movie."
Reigen blew a raspberry as he slumped onto the table, knocking down the TV remote and the gift wrap Shigeo had used for his present. Shigeo sighed again and moved from his curled up position on the couch to help Reigen back up. He used his esper abilities to pause the terrible film they were watching while he pulled Reigen's arm over his shoulder, grunting at his dead weight. If he'd tried this three years ago he'd be crushed under Reigen's weight, but his Body Improvement activities had helped tremendously.
A giggle escaped Reigen as Shigeo sat him down on the couch. He was about to move away but the arm around him stayed put.
"Master?"
"Mob?" Reigen looked slightly confused as he squinted his eyes, scrunched up his nose, and pulled him closer, "'ss that reeally you?"
A blush made its way to Shigeo's cheeks at their proximity, "Y-Yes."
The blonde grinned and patted his back, "So strong!" he practically gushed.
Shigeo wasn't really sure how to take his words but just the fact that his strength and hard work had been acknowledged...he felt pride. He nodded his thanks. He successfully moved away from Reigen, ready to take his place at the end of the couch and start the movie when he was once again delayed, this time by Reigen tugging roughly on his sweater's back. He fell back, half on the couch and half on Reigen
"You do have 6!" Reigen exclaimed as his hands slipped under Shigeo's sweater and rubbed up and down his stomach, "Mmm-" hiccup, "-ya know I could never do somethin like this. Too much work but YOU, you-" he nodded and his hair tickled Shigeo's face, "-you really good-"
Shigeo, on the other hand, was frozen in his seat as he chanted 7 months 7 months in his head, his face completely red. He was hyper aware of Reigen's touch, the way his palms were slightly damp but glided smoothly over his skin. The way they recounted his abs, the whispered numbers near his ear, and the way they moved over his ribs a couple of times. It all made him shiver, 7 months 7 months, "Mhmm, six."
When Reigen moved higher is when Shigeo grabbed his arms. He was breathing a little faster, "I, Master, I don't think that's a good idea..."
Reigen chuckled and easily maneuvered his hands out of Shigeo's grasp, "Even your hands are bigger now!" He stared in fascination and even put his hands with Shigeo's for a comparison.
"Hey Mob."
Shigeo slightly turned towards Reigen.
"Let me...Let me see your arms," his hands were already moving to unzip his sweater and Shigeo panicked. Wouldn't this be putting Reigen in a bad position? If someone walked in, if Serizawa came home, what would he think? Or would it be okay to just show him? He'd put his sweater back on and go back to his corner! He felt his stress levels go up. Why couldn't it be next year already?!
His sweater was pulled down and Reigen touched and rubbed, cooing at how his shoulders were broader and stronger, hehe doesn't this seem like it's your birthday? It appeared his conscious had turned into Dimple and that single green distraction helped him get his bearings. He placed his hand on Reigen's thigh (it wasn't as firm as his but he loved the warmth it emanated and how it tensed) and tried to move away, "We should keep watching the movie, did you want another drink?"
He must have done something wrong because next thing he knew, Reigen's right hand was on his leg and it was moving down, over, up, and oh so close-
Shigeo shot up, his sweater dropping completely from his frame, 7 months! His face was red as he stuttered out, "I-I'll start the movie!" but he was so flustered he hadn't noticed Reigen had tangled up their feet and he ended up falling to the ground, his face missing the table by a few centimeters.
Reigen started laughing hysterically but once he calmed down he called out, "Mooooob~"
Shigeo turned his face and found himself nearly flattened by a drunk (again, how) Reigen as he laid down next to him. He pulled Shigeo towards him and muttered a content, "So warm," before passing out.
And Shigeo could only internally weep because, how had it turned out this way? He'd been so careful too!
OMAKE
Reigen tried to get up and cursed as his head hit...the table? What was he doing under the table? As he looked down he yelled out and once more bumped his head, "Mob?!"
The seventeen-year-old was next to him, rubbing his eyes as he yawned, "...Oh you're awake..."
Reigen couldn't believe how calm his words were, especially when he took in their situation: under table, his leg over Mob's, Mob in a tank and sweatpants, him in a tank and (his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets) boxers. Holy mother of, he was going to HELL. But, more importantly, he was going to Jail, all because he couldn't keep his pants on and hands (and legs) off a seventeen-year-old Mob.
He could feel himself sweat, "W-what happened here?"
Mob blushed...
Mob. Blushed. Oh yes, he was dead.
He purposefully banged his head again, hoping he'd knock himself out and kill the arousal pooling in his not pants. Unfortunately for him, that only caused enough ruckus for Serizawa to come yelling from the guest room and then dropping his jaw when he saw them under the table.
Maybe being dead would be better than his current situation.
OMAKE: MOB
Mob blushed. How was he going to tell Reigen that after thoroughly appreciating his musculature he'd followed Mob under the table and promptly passed out? Started complaining halfway through the night it was too hot, and then stripped to his boxers? Not to mention cuddled him for most of his slumber...

Summary: Did he like it? Did he not like it? He had to try it again
It was bitter.
His palate was used to other types of flavors. He was still young, although that didn't imply that his sense of taste was that of a child. He liked takoyaki, ramen, and milk, the last being one he couldn't completely classify. Perhaps it was sweet, perhaps it wasn't, he wasn't really sure but the flavor was nice and he supposed that was enough. Still, he wasn't sure where to categorize that strange bitter taste that spread into his mouth.
Had he liked it? Had he disliked it?
He tried to reimagine the moment, the strange and alien taste as it snaked along his tongue, went up to his palate, and spread to his gums. Again, he tried to savor it but it had been hours since he'd experienced it and he'd already eaten dinner. There were no remains left. He was slightly disappointed since he'd been hoping to discover if that rough and dry taste was to his liking.
He'd need to taste it again.
Although he wasn't sure how to ask. It hadn't been something he'd originally planned to encounter
.
.
He always put milk-flavored candy into his mouth, like strawberry milkshake or yogurt, and it had stirred some curiosity in him the first time that he'd seen him do it. It led him to think he liked sweet stuff even though he told him the taste was nothing special. He bought strong-flavored food, not sweet, more so salty, he knew this because they often shared food. And so he came to his own conclusions instead of asking directly, fueled by a feeling that made his heart speed up and told him it was best not to ask, that if he did, something would happen.
He continued eating candies for two weeks and when the third week started he couldn't hold his curiosity at bay. He himself couldn't understand it. It seemed he'd spoken aloud and it wasn't until he'd analyzed his teacher's words that he realized what he'd said. He became nervous when he realized what he'd done, distressed, he broke out into a cold sweat as he listened to the older man.
Tobacco flavored kisses are unpleasant.
He tensed up in his spot as the brunette stopped a few meters from the couch he was occupying. He moved his eyes to see the older man's face, and no matter how useless that information was he didn't know how to react. He realized that the candy was still in the man's hand and his gaze stopped at the object with the pink wrapper.
He didn't know how, but it happened.
He was so absorbed in his thoughts that instead of seeing Reigen's hand in front of his pink tie, he saw his light brown locks and his eyes. The warm air against his lips was replaced by the fiery touch of unfamiliar lips and his own saliva and tongue weren't the only things inside his mouth anymore.
Time seemed to stop. He came back to reality in the midst of it all and didn't know how to respond to the situation. The older man's tongue clashed with his and their saliva mixed. He felt a tickling sensation and the voracious touch made him feel like he was suffocating. In that instant he didn't think about how his first time was with his teacher, he didn't think about it being with another man, much less in how unusual this must be. All he knew was that he didn't want this to end, that he liked the heavy and sticky feeling.
See? It's not good, he said before sending him home.
He loved the sensation but the taste disappeared before he could examine it.
He wanted another nicotine flavored kiss.
Next reimob translated story will be this one!
Summary: Mob goes to the office because his teacher had called him, but it didn't look like he was there...or was he?
Notes: Because it's Reigen's birthday dammit I suppose this is PWP? I really don't think there's plot -laughs- Strange title, only because I needed to add one
Warnings: drunk Reigen, underage Mob (I think canon age), masturbation, non-established relationship
I’ve already translated about half (maybe a tad more) so it should be up by tomorrow~

Summary: Mob goes to the office because his teacher had called him, but it didn't look like he was there...or was he?
This story has 14Mob, rated E for mild smut
"Teacher?" he called out once he closed the door.
It was a little late and he thought it was strange the office lights weren't on. He walked carefully, placing his hand against the wall until he reached the switch, was he perhaps in a seance?
"Teacher?" he called out again but received no answer.
He thought that he wasn't even in the office or perhaps he'd already left with a client, although the older man hadn't mentioned anything about going to a site (much less anything about a waiting client), during the phone call...he discarded the idea.
It wasn't long before he felt the switch, his fingers ran over it, and then he pressed it. The room was illuminated, he could clearly see everything in the room and there was no trace of the psychic. He gulped and continued into the office. He saw the brunette's desk chair. It was facing away from him and he thought maybe he'd fallen asleep.
He came closer with the intention of affirming his suspicions. He passed through the side of the couch and on his way he kicked something with his right foot. He jumped and stopped. He looked down and his body relaxed as he realized he'd kicked an apparently empty can if the missing spillage was any indication, what could it have been?
He heard the squeak of the couch cushions and he turned around. His heart skipped a beat. Resting on the couch was the older man with dark eyes. He turned in his place and slowly came closer to where his teacher was peacefully sleeping.
He could feel something squeeze in his chest. The sound of calm breathing reached his ears. He stopped at half a meter from the couch's border and he kept his gaze upon his face. Now that he thought about it, he'd never seen the other's face so close before.
Unconsciously, he began to lean in, shortening the distance between their faces, "Teacher?" he called out a third time, but this time without really wanting a response. His voice was hardly above a whisper as he didn't wish to wake him.

Mob likes Reigen’s legs
I’ve been thinking about this for a few days now:
Mob always likes it when Reigen wears shorts or walks around in his boxers. There’s just something about the hairs on his legs that really turns him on. When they go to bed he rubs at Reigen’s thighs with his hands, he tangles their legs together, and just rubs at them. When they sit together to watch movies on the couch, Mob makes sure to sit between Reigen and instead of watching the movie he runs his hands down his legs, pulls lightly on the little hairs, and even bends his legs up so they can touch.
Just any chance he gets he touches Reigen’s legs and Reigen always blushes but never tells him to stop. He loves it when Mob pays extra attention to him.
Reigen is feeling insecure and Mob tries his best to soothe away his fears (college au)
Reigen is old. He knows that now, has known it since he turned 30, and remembers it every time Mob is close. Every time he holds the younger male, feels how smooth his skin is, sees that there are no white hairs or wrinkles on him, touches the muscle he’s been building since his middle school days, and it scares him.
His boyfriend is ten years his junior, and he has nothing to offer the growing man.
His phone flashes and the name Mob lights up, a picture of a smiling Mob staring back at him. He clenches his jaw and lets it vibrate two more times before it displays two missed calls. An amused chuckle startles Reigen and he quickly flips his phone so the screen can’t be seen. Ekubo is peering down at him. Damn, he’d forgotten to close his office door!
“Soooo, ignoring the brat now are we?”
Reigen forces a smile as he slides his phone to the side, far away from Ekubo (he wasn’t going to make that mistake again), “Of course not…”
It’s a bit painful to smile and he feels his face twitch. He clears his throat and turns back to his desk, pretending to arrange papers. He clicks the mouse to his computer rapidly and wishes the screen would turn on quickly just this once. Ekubo straightens out, raising a brow at the obvious lie.
“You know,” Ekubo begins and enters Reigen’s office without permission. He ignores the hey from the blonde, “I saw him with that girl, what’s her name? Tsubomi? They were at the gate.”
Reigen freezes as Ekubo hits one of his greatest doubts. Tsubomi, Mob’s first crush and the girl he’d been pining after for more than he’s known the guy! She was the reason he’d started working out in middle school and, he grips the papers in his hand, she could also give Mob so much compared to him. They were close in age, she could give him a family, she was smart and had a bright future, and he’d seen the interest. He’d seen the way she would talk with Mob, casually touch his shoulder, and sit next to him during group projects.
And…they looked good…next to each other.
“Oh look there they are,” Ekubo exclaimed and whistled, “Didn’t know Shigeo was such a lady’s man. You know, I saw that the alien otaku was dragging him around the other day too.”

To Anon for MP100 SS: Reigen swears he has a boyfriend but Ekubo doesn't believe him and Serizawa is Serizawa
The Teenager Who Cried BOYFRIEND
Read on Ao3
Reigen was slightly upset and ok, perhaps it was his fault he was in such a predicament but really, would he exaggerate (because he never lied...just told it how he saw it) about something as serious as a boyfriend? No. Except nobody believed him
He shivered, bringing his shoulders closer to his body and burying his nose into his soft pink scarf (a gift from his BOYFRIEND). Apparently, the color had reminded him of Reigen and Reigen being the sentimental boyfriend that he was, wore it religiously once the weather got colder. Yes he got some talk from it ('What is that THING' was Ekubo's horrified response when he'd first worn it) but, Reigen colored a little from the cold and from remembering his boyfriend's pleased look when he sent him a picture that day, he didn't care
It really does suit you
Idiot! It's just a scarf, are you still coming?
Yes
Now that he was on school break he could start holiday shopping. Yes he'd left it last minute but he already had some ideas in mind and not many people to gift. Only Serizawa, Ekubo (He grunted. He should get him some socks...in the wrong size!), and -
"Reigen!" but it was too late. He nearly collapsed under the height and weight of Ekubo
"Hey, lover boy, where are you headed off to so sneakily?" The guy always (and he repeats always) sniffed him out. But only when Reigen needed him to be miles away. If he were ever to need the taller man to bail him out then it's like nobody even knew who he was. Like my "imaginary" boyfriend
His voice was muffled under his scarf, "Christmas shopping, I'm meeting Mob this weekend."
Suddenly there was a shadow over him and he was grateful to see the giant umbrella his friend seemed to carry around religiously
"Oh, are you spending Christmas with him?" was Serizawa's kind reply. He seemed to be the only one who "believed" Reigen but it seemed more so that he was trying to keep peace
"Yes, and you guys don't need to come with me," he made sure he was looking at Ekubo when he said this because honestly, he didn't mind Serizawa's company and his umbrella, but Ekubo could be troublesome in many ways, "Don't you have someone else to bother? Girls and boys to make cry this holiday?"
It was a well-known fact that Ekubo was a raging bisexual and by raging he meant that he'd never turn down an adoring fan from his fanclub, which he was the president of (he seemed to love that people loved him). Some people tried to get into his pants a couple times and yes Ekubo had a few flings here and there but he seemed more amused with just messing with people and waving at his adoring crowd than actual relationships. Aside from Serizawa and himself it seemed.
"Come now Rei-chan, friends need to help each other out. Plus, knowing you, you'd probably give this Mob fellow something plain and boring. I'm here to spice up the holidays," and that was what Reigen didn't want. But he didn't try sending his friends off again. Not after Serizawa nodded in assent and not after Ekubo laughed aloud and added, "Besides, I need to know how far you're going to take this whole boyfriend business."
Reigen sighed at that
Serizawa stage whispered Ekubo's name right before hitting him with the umbrella
---
The first time Reigen met Mob was at a Spirits and Such Seminar about a year ago. Reigen had attended as a self-proclaimed psychic, as whenever anyone in school needed a little extra hand, his services were requested. Unfortunately (or fortunately), none of his assignments ever involved actual spirits. It was usually something about lost animals, stressed-out students, and creepy photographs. Which he usually solved in a manner of a few minutes, sometimes a few hours. Rarely more than that. It was a good way to earn money and it combined many of his unique skills
He'd found out about the seminar while browsing online and was particularly impressed with the whole proclamation about a "real esper" attending. He'd never heard of people with actual powers before. Everyone he'd met along the way had been phonies and, well, he was intrigued
The seminar was being run by someone named Tome Kurata, who was well known in the community for being obsessed with aliens and telepathy. She'd also run a couple other seminars (that had all flopped) but this one had been legit. When he arrived they'd been given some candy, which he'd then re-handed out, and once it started, boy had he been impressed
Impressed by the handsome guest speaker in more ways than one
Not only was he an ACTUAL esper, but he was a powerful one. To settle everyone's minds he'd done a few tricks like made some objects in the room float and then made bubbles with water, creating an almost otherworldly atmosphere. They'd then gotten down to business, talking about the dos and don'ts of spirits, and how to avoid catching the attention of one. Many things he already knew but also some new tidbits he hadn't known. Like the part where Mob had pointed at the woman next to him and said she had a playful spirit atop her head, feeding into her dreams. She'd then confessed that yes, she had been having some strange dreams and the spirit had been exorcised
It had been brief but their eyes had met and he'd seen interest in those black orbs. Possibly because he was the youngest in attendance.
It has to be that, because, unlike his friends, Reigen was average. He didn't work out so he had no muscles to brag about. He was also rather short, something he never thought about until he started high school and found himself dwarfed by quite a few people. Ekubo and Serizawa being two of these people. And he didn't have any distinguishing features.
Mob on the other hand. He was tall, like all the people Reigen seemed to be doomed to meet. And there wasn't anything eye-catching about his physical features aside from his height - he wore a black suit and there was a black jacket on his seat, black hair, black eyes, and pale skin - but there was something about the way he spoke, how kind and patient his voice sounded (like he truly cared about them) and how his eyes wouldn't stray from whoever he was talking to
Which is why Reigen decided he needed to talk with the man
It took a while since everyone wanted to talk to him but finally, he pulled through. Unfortunately, it was because Kurata was shooing everyone away
"Wait, Mob?" the man turned at his name being called but Kurata stood in front Reigen, her voice stern and a scowl on her face, "Mob is tired and the seminar is over kid. Everyone needs to leave now, he'll be consulting for a few days this week, you can come by then. There are flyers being handed out when you leave."
"Ah, but, we're colleagues!" he blurted out and then began to sweat. It wasn't technically a lie. They both worked with spirits afterall
She eyes him suspiciously, "You an esper?"
"Tome-chan?" Mob called out, walking over to her. If Reigen felt dwarfed, he wasn't sure how Kurata felt as she was nearly a head shorter than him. It was slightly amusing
"Mob! He's saying he's an esper!" her eyes seemed to almost sparkle in his direction and Reigen wondered if she liked the guy
Mob turned to him, his eyes almost boring into him and Reigen felt his face heat up. Could espers tell each other apart? He wasn't sure but there was something playful in Mob's gaze, amused, and yup, Reigen got his answer
Reigen cleared his throat, "I'm Reigen Arataka, I'm a senior from Salt Senior High School-"
"Hey! You said you were a colleague!" Kurata cut him off
"-and I also work with spirits." He looked pointedly at Kurata, "And that's why I called myself a colleague."
That made Kurata pout and she promptly walked away, continuing on her duties and leaving him to Mob. Seemed the rumors about that were true
Mob's mouth lifted into a smile, "It's nice to meet you Reigen, don't mind Tome-chan. Did you need help with something?"
"Well, not of the usual sort. You see, I've been helping around the school and town, anyone who says they're haunted or you know, have ghost problems. I was hoping to learn more and since you're clearly more experienced on the matter..." oh god, his eyes, that attention, "uhm, and well, Kurata mentioned you travel a lot, I plan to keep myself local, help out here in Seasoning City. You'd be surprised considering its size but there's a lot of people here who need help!"
Ok he was rambling now and his heart was beating too quickly and he felt sweat beading his brow and upper lip and if he didn't calm down he'd have clammy hands and breath, breathe!
He took a deep breath and nearly rushed through the rest, "Could we maybe keep in contact? Exchange numbers? I'd only text you when I absolutely need help of course!!"
Smooth. That was smooth, right? Ekubo would be proud
"You want Mob's number?" Kurata asked behind him and Reigen nearly jumped out of his skin, his face more bright now he was sure, "Aren't you a little too young? You do know that Mob is already 30, right?"
He turned towards her quickly, "It's for work purposes!"
But just like Ekubo, she gave him a disbelieving look. And no he didn't know Kurata like that (just read a couple things about her) but if it turned out she and Ekubo were related in some way, he wouldn't be surprised
He looked over to Mob, "B-but that's fine if you'd rather not. I know it's weird to have a stranger ask for your number and you probably get this a lot and don't listen to her I didn't mean-"
"That's fine," Mob's quiet voice made Reigen pause, "I don't mind. Here."
"He could also be a serial esper killer Mob," Kurata warned, "Remember what happened last time?"
Last time? Now Reigen was intrigued but Mob only hummed before passing him a business card with a number written on the back, "Don't worry about the time. I can't promise to reply immediately but I'll try to help out however I can."
And okay, maybe Reigen did want Mob's number for that. Or at least eventually, maybe. And maybe Reigen also melted a little when Mob smiled at him and when he placed his warm palm on his shoulder and maybe the rest of his day was a blur because of that
---
Reigen pauses as he feels Serizawa tug on his jacket and he sees Ekubo a couple shops down, waving at him, pointing towards, he looks over, Victoria Secret? Why would he...
"He thinks your boyfriend would like it," is Serizawa's answer and Reigen can't believe that smile on Serizawa's face. Is this betrayal?
Reigen ignores Ekubo's calling and continues walking around the mall. And maybe he's a little glad that they lose Ekubo for awhile but then he finds the two of them again
"Where did you go?" Serizawa asks quietly
"Oh just getting a friend a present, WAIT, Reigen why not get something from here? I hear the back has a few interesting things!"
They stop by at this strange little alcove with the name Spencers on top and shrugs. They go inside, Serizawa giving Ekubo a pointed look and Reigen raising a brow at them both. It seems they carry similar content to Hot Topic. He goes to the back and quickly leaves the store, a laughing Ekubo trailing after him and Serizawa the traitor!
---
Reigen isn't sure what to do. It's been a few hours since they arrived at the mall and he can't seem to pick out what to get Mob. Ekubo has tried to get him to buy some indecent things (I bet your 'boyfriend' would like this and For when you're not around, don't want him getting bored, right?) but it's obvious he means all of them to be for Reigen (as they're for his size). Reigen has gotten close to buying Mob a tie (then remembered he hardly used ties), a coat (then remembered Mob recently bought himself a coat), and a scarf (but he left the store, blushing when Serizawa mentioned a matching set would be cute). And yeah, Reigen kind of liked the idea of matching
They'd passed a couple jewelry places (Why not get him a collar so everyone knows he's taken) but he'd never seen Mob wear anything flashy and some of the prices were way over budget.
But they did pass by a movie theatre and he did see a movie he wanted to watch so perhaps they could come back later that week. Serizawa thinks he wants them to go in and starts looking at the times as well, noting that everything has started already
It's only when they're heading back and he sees a sports shop that he remembers Mob likes to work out. Has told him stories about his middle school days and the Bodybuilding Club and he decides to check it out. It confuses his friends and he can't help but smirk a little. He doesn't work out so obviously this stuff isn't for him
He ends up buying a hairband and a work out sweater with a wide neck because he is a healthy teenaged boy and Mob has a beautiful neck
"Well, I think that's enough for today," Reigen says, a bit of a yawn in his voice, "I don't think I'll find anything else here."
"Were you planning on going elsewhere later?" Serizawa asks, a bag of his own in his hand, his umbrella in the other
"Maybe, though I still don't know what else to get. Do you think these are enough?"
"BORING," Ekubo calls out as he's trailing behind them, "He probably could have brought that stuff himself."
"You should also give him chocolates," Serizawa recommends, "Does he like them?"
Reigen nods, mentally adding that to his list. That's when his phone goes off and he checks his messages
"Is that him?" Ekubo asks. Reigen nods, quickly reading over the message and pocketing his phone, "Joining us?"
"No, just sent me the details of when he's coming by. His plane comes in on Christmas Eve. I told him I'd pick him up."
Serizawa coos and Ekubo raises a brow, "When's he coming in?"
"He's on an early flight, 7."
Ekubo chuckles, "Isn't that rare! You waking up early. WELL, Seri and I are going to bolt now, we have some planning to do."
He nearly pushes Serizawa away and the bigger man waves at Reigen. Planning?
---
It's early on Christmas Eve when Reigen leaves his home to head to the airport and pick up Mob (though really Mob doesn't need picking up, he's a grown man but Reigen didn't want to wait to see him later today). He's still yawning when he leaves and maybe he dozes a bit when he catches a taxi. He's decided to dress casual because they're probably going to head back home and just sleep until later today. Mob did mention he hadn't gotten enough sleep and he was sure to be jet-lagged for awhile. Today wasn't as cold so he wore a cozy hoodie, his scarf, and some jogging pants he had lying around.
He makes it to the pick-up terminal about half an hour early and he finds a place to sit. As it nears time for Mob to come in Reigen begins to nod off, semi-aware of his surroundings and semi-thinking about later tonight. He'd tidied up the house and made some chocolate cookies (thank you internet) and bagged up Mob's gift. He'd also taken out the fluffy blanket Mob liked and made space in his closet. All that was left was for Mob to come home
And really, he could have sworn he'd only closed his eyes for a second, maybe five minutes, but next thing he knows he's being woken up by Mob. That instantly wakes him up and he bolts upright, "Mob! A-uhm, sorry! I said I'd be picking you up and here I am falling asleep and-and...Welcome Home."
Mob is smiling down at him, amusement in his eyes and leans down until they're only centimeters apart, "I'm home."
---
OMAKE p1
"I can't believe he fell asleep. Probably wouldn't even notice if I mobbed him," Ekubo said, a hand to his forehead, "But he's wearing that so he probably didn't bring anything on him."
"We should go wake him up, Mob should be here any time now and it's not safe to be sleeping out here," Serizawa fussed, his trusty umbrella on hand.
"We can't go up to him!" Ekubo nearly cried out when Serizawa started to walk over, "What part of secret mission didn't you get?! He's not supposed to know we're here!"
"I could walk by him and make a noise or something, he won't know," Ekubo looked at him pointedly
"With that umbrela there? Yeah, he won't recognize you."
"Good, I'll be-"
"I was being sarcastic!" Ekubo groaned. That's when they both noticed someone walk up to Reigen
"I told you it wasn't safe!" "Is that him?!"
It was a taller man dressed in a black hoodie, a turtleneck peaking out the top, black jeans, and black beanie, a carry on bag with wheels trailing a few inches behind him. They couldn't really see his face from where they were hiding but they could tell Reigen hadn't noticed yet. Not until the man nudged his shoulder. Suddenly Reigen stood (probably apologizing) and -
Ekubo whistled, "Guess he does have a boyfriend and a hot one."
Serizawa raised a brow but also looked on in wonderment as the couple kissed
"Good thing I got that gift in the right size."
---
OMAKE p2
Mob curled up closer to Reigen and smiled at how sensitive the younger man was. Since Mob traveled all over the place he had gotten used to colder weather so something like today was nothing. And even with the heater on, a breeze still entered the house (he'd need to find out where, didn't need Reigen to get a chill).
"You know," he placed a kiss to Reigen's ear, "you have great friends."
"What?" Reigen answered, confused, "You haven't even met them."
Mob only smiled, placing a kiss to Reigen's neck and sighing happily.
---
OMAKE p3
"Soooo," Ekubo pried once they got back to school, "How was it?"
Reigen lifted a brow, "How was what?"
"Don't play sly! Did you guys use my Christmas gift? He liked it didn't he? He seems the type."
Reigen colored at the little Christmas bag he'd hid in his closet and glowered at his friend, embarrassed, "NO!"
That wiped the smirk off Ekubo's face, "Prude."
The bell rang and the rest of his class started to trickle in, the ones inside settled down. He noticed Serizawa was running late and he began to worry. That guy was never late. He felt a kick to his chair and turned back to see Ekubo grinning at him, waving him to come closer. He clearly had that playful look to him and Reigen felt weary but came closer anyways
"Since you didn't use the gift I so generously sent, why not try out kabeshiri?" Ekubo whispered low enough where only Reigen would hear but loud enough that his voice would carry past the noise of everyone. A sort of stage whisper
"Kabeshiri? What's that?" Reigen mimicked him, a bad feeling stirring in his belly
Ekubo whispered the rest (quietly THANK GOD) and Reigen colored, his earlier worry of Serizawa gone
"I bet he'd be into it and don't forget to use the gift."
The teacher called attention and wow, Reigen had to cool down. Now. But the image of Mob's attention on him, pounding into him while wearing that in such a vulgar and primitive way...would Mob like it? They'd never talked about doing anything different but if Mob wanted to - No wait! Yes, it turned him on but also he liked to see Mob, liked to kiss him, liked to hold him. No, there were too many cons
He was distracted the whole day and Ekubo kept sending him knowing looks

p.s. i can’t find the horizontal line break thing, is that no longer an option for tumblr posts? oh and this was written for Anon H (as i shall call them) for the mp100 secret santa like a year or two ago?? i don’t even know. i noticed it wasn’t on my tumblr and since it’s the one i had the most fun writing (and plan to “continue”, i thought i’d share it)
shared this on twitter so figured i’d share it here too!!
this is a WIP and might end up looking completely different to what i end up posting but it’s the basic idea
it’s set in an ageswap world where reigen is in high school and mob is a working adult. it’s supposed to be set in the same world as the teenager who cried BOYFRIEND (tbh tho, this wip is not as cute and fluff as that oneshot)
the prompt is from a request an anon sent me one time: mob giving reigen a bj with his psychic powers
He was in his second year of university when he met Reigen (ReiMob, same age AU)
One Semester
Read on Ao3
Mob wouldn't really describe himself as insecure. Or at least not anymore.
He remembers his middle school years and how he'd always stutter and choke on his thoughts and words, especially anything regarding his childhood sweetheart Tsubomi. But there were many events in his short esper life that had helped him grow and before he knew it, he'd graduated high school and finally started university, and all of those insecurities had stayed in his past. Of course, that didn't mean he wasn't insecure sometimes even as an adult. Sometimes, when his new friends would invite him out, he'd stand in front of his bedroom mirror and ponder what to wear, unsure if he should put more effort into his looks. At other times, when, as Ekubo so kindly assured him he was being hit on he'd feel a flush on his face, confused as to why this could be true, and he'd once more trip over his words, but it was nothing compared to how he felt now
He was in his second year of university when he met Reigen
Normally, their classes wouldn't overlap since Reigen was a senior and in the business department, and Mob was still taking beginner classes as an undecided major, but they'd somehow picked the same elective course, and, Reigen with his affability, had pretty much charmed everyone. Especially Mob
So much that during their first month of classes together, Mob was sure he'd never been more embarrassed. His being an esper wasn't exactly a secret and he'd never particularly enjoyed showing off, especially after Tsubomi had lost interest in his powers, so he had kind of panicked when he'd lost a bit of control and made all the desks in the room float. Not even Ekubo's voice had been able to penetrate the haze he'd apparently been in. It was Reigen's exclamation that had brought him back to Earth, and with him, the desks as well, all of them falling with roaring thuds. Luckily nobody had been hurt, but Mob had been so sick, he'd missed the rest of his classes and even decided to skip the next day
He remembers Ritsu at his door trying to coax him out
Ekubo was the one who managed to get Mob back to class, that business kid, the one you like, he wants to see you
He really didn't want to, but he was also curious. His heart was racing, not just from the nervousness of seeing the guy he was currently crushing on (he remembers Ekubo's shocked face when Mob blushed during their introduction on their first day. He'd gone over to him and nearly screamed, Are you serious?! This one?!), but from the uncertainty of their conversation. What did Reigen want to tell him? Why did he want to see him? Was he mad? Upset? He was in business, Mob wasn't sure what career path, but perhaps he...Mob felt something get stuck in his throat...wanted to s-sue him? Damages? He vaguely remembers something similar happening when he was younger
Trying to figure out the reason was tougher than a test question with the "all or none of the above" option. Ekubo just picked his nose, claiming he didn't know either. He'd just heard the kid asking about Mob, but no he didn't seem upset
Mob had somehow sat through his classes, all of them, even as he felt a penetrating gaze at his back. After his classes, he'd walked to the quad and sat at a bench by the library entrance, waiting
"Mob!" he heard his name called out and when he looked up, there he was
Mob hadn't known Reigen for long, but the few times he'd seen him, Reigen was always wearing a suit. He'd never understood adults who wore them. They seemed constricting and stuffy, but the way Reigen looked in his suits somehow fit. The suits also made him look a bit older, more precise, and when he spoke, it seemed to give him more authority. People always listened to him, enraptured, not just by his voice but his body language, the flow of his hands, his confident stare
By then, perhaps because it was near the end of the day, the sun was nearly setting, Reigen had changed. He wasn't wearing a suit. Instead, he wore a white t-shirt and some grey sweatpants, a pair of sneakers on his feet. His hair was also slightly messy and Mob wasn't sure which Reigen he liked best, this one that looked softer and his rightful age, or the suited and more mature one
He barely registered Ekubo's, ugh, I'm heading home
"Hey," Reigen greeted him and Mob only nodded, then reminded himself that this was his chance to properly speak with him!
"H-Hi," he stuttered and felt his cheeks flush. Reigen only grinned
"I'm glad you came back to class. I thought maybe you'd drop the course. You seemed kind of...well, not okay that day when you left." There was an unspoken question in the air and Mob felt his body heat up remembering what happened. He swallowed the lump in his throat
"I'm o-okay," he assured, "I don't normally..." he made vague movements with his hands, "I was just d-distracted. It won't..." he took a deep breath to calm himself, "It won't happen again."
Reigen seemed to deflate a bit, "Wait, seriously? But that was so cool!"
Mob felt his heart skip a beat but he stayed firm, "I could have hurt someone."
Reigen frowned slightly, not upset, more so thoughtfully. He angled his hips for a moment, his hand on his chin, and then straightened out with a smile, "Hey, I know! Why don't you practice your powers with me!"
Mob could feel this was a bad idea, but the way Reigen's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm and knowing that they'd be interacting more if he said yes...
"O-okay," was his mumbled reply
----
After that, the two of them saw each other more frequently "to train" Mob's esper powers. He actually had stopped using his powers in middle school, preferring to hone his body and mind (or at least attempt to), which is probably why he struggled with some of the tasks Reigen gave him. Or perhaps it was because it was Reigen talking to him, smiling at him, touching his arm, throwing his arm around his shoulder, taking him out to eat, that had Mob at his limits. But if anything good came out of this, and Mob could list a few things, it was that Mob got used to Reigen. He still felt himself get nervous around the confident man, but at least he could speak without stuttering
The activities that Reigen came up with were usually childish and easy (like the time Reigen had Mob levitate some desks while he played loud music and sang along. He remembers Ekubo screaming about his ears and ok, Mob had to admit that Reigen couldn't hold a tune but he'd found it cute so while his ears did hurt for a bit, it was worth it. Or the time Reigen tried to tickle him while he concentrated on making water bubbles, except he wasn't ticklish. Mob would have counted this as a victory but then Ekubo went ahead and loudly exclaimed, careful, he's going to put his hands into your pants and Reigen's hands were a bit close to the edge of his pants and his concentration completely unbalanced and the water bubbles splashed them both. Ekubo couldn't stop laughing at how red Mob had gotten), so instead of training, Mob would often feel like they were just...hanging out
Ekubo would just roll his eyes, Shigeo, sometimes I wonder how you're twenty, you're so naive
He didn't really understand what Ekubo was trying to tell him but he knew these feelings for Reigen weren't "naive" or at least not always. He remembered the time Reigen, so perceptive, had noticed that Mob often "spaced out". Reigen had been slurping on some noodles, the broth getting all over his face and some, Mob noticed, sprinkling onto the table they sat at. "Not sure what's going on, but it's like, you're going to think I'm crazy, but it seems like you're listening to someone talk to you."
And Mob had confessed that that was exactly what he'd been doing. Reigen nearly choked from the excitement on his face, "Ghosts are real?! Can I talk to him?"
Ekubo hadn't liked the idea. For some reason, he'd never particularly liked Reigen and Mob had yet to figure out why, If he can't see me, he can't see me. Probably doesn't have even a spark of power. Mob had relayed the message and Reigen had just shrugged. He'd seemed nonchalant about the topic, but Mob, after spending so many evenings with him, had noticed the slight droop of his frame
After eating, the two decided to walk back to the dorms, but right before parting, Mob had taken Reigen's hand. Reigen had just looked at him curiously and Mob hoped and prayed his hands wouldn't suddenly start sweating too much, "I have an idea."
Mob pushed some of his own power into Reigen. He wasn't sure if it would work, but it was because of his own power that Ritsu's had manifested. Perhaps Ekubo was right and Reigen didn't have any abilities, but perhaps he did. Or perhaps he could temporarily share his own, just a tiny bit
Reigen's eyes grew wide as he felt Mob's esper powers flow into him and he couldn't help the grin and exclamation that escaped his lips, "He's a green blob! Can I touch him?"
Without waiting for a response or releasing Mob's hand, Reigen reached out towards Ekubo, who was Not Amused, "Hey! Hands off kid!" he floated behind Mob, "Shigeo, keep him away or I'll possess him!"
"Shigeo?" Reigen tilted his head, "He calls you by your first name?"
Mob felt his hand warm at the sound of his name coming from Reigen. He knew Reigen wasn't technically calling him but just hearing his name coming from his crush...he felt the butterflies again. Butterflies that quickly turned into a burning sensation as he imagined Reigen calling him Shigeo in a different context. He pulled his hand away and wiped them on his pants, having felt them start to sweat and become clammy. His face was red, he could feel it, but could also feel Ekubo's stare, Reigen's stare...it was too much and he excused himself. It was late, he had to go to bed, they had class the next morning
----
Sharing his power with Reigen was experimental. He hadn't ever done that before and he wasn't sure what the consequences would be. In the end, Reigen develops the ability to see Ekubo without Mob's help. There aren't any other spirits in the area so they can't really test out if perhaps Reigen can see or sense others. They decide that can be an experiment for another day. Instead, Reigen tries to befriend Ekubo, which doesn't exactly turn out well, but the two of them are civil. Mob is glad since Ekubo is his friend and Reigen, well, he likes Reigen
They become busier with school work as the semester starts coming to an end. All the teachers have surely conspired and Mob has too many final projects to go out with Reigen like they used to. This also means Reigen is busier since he's also taking his business core classes.
On the night of their last class, Reigen sends him a text, meet me at the quad
Mob checks the time, it's almost midnight, but he doesn't hesitate to put on a hoodie, slip on the closest pair of jeans, and head out. The moon is bright as he walks the block to the quad and a few people walk past him, taking a night stroll or heading home after a night of last-minute submissions. He doesn't pay much attention to them and when he finally reaches the quad, he sees a figure sitting on the ground, looking up at the sky. Reigen is wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants. There's a curious design on the shirt that reminds Mob of Ekubo and he wonders if maybe Reigen bought it because of that. He smiles
"Reigen," he calls out, announcing his presence. Reigen leans back, tilting his head and smiles, patting the space beside him. Mob sits down, listens to the night creatures and the sound of the few cars passing by the school, the engines quiet and almost soothing. A few voices reach them but they are far enough away where the words don't register. It's a peaceful night
There is a sense of dread building in Mob's stomach. They only really started to hang out when they started taking this class, when Mob showed his powers, and while he now had Reigen's contact information, a part of him wondered if this was the end. Maybe Reigen wouldn't want to hang out with him anymore.
Mob wasn't usually this pessimistic but Ekubo had been kind enough to remind him that Reigen, if anything, was only interested in his powers, And you already showed him all you can do. He's probably gotten bored. For a moment, Mob wishes he had used his powers when he was younger, done what Ritsu and Ekubo had told him, but it's a thought that comes and goes. The use of his powers was something he has always been firm about and while these last few weeks have been fun and nothing has happened, Ritsu is the prime example that something can always go bad
After a while, Reigen finally speaks and Mob thinks that maybe there's sadness in his voice, "Today was the last day of classes, submissions too. Gah! I can't believe they didn't give us until the weekend, grades aren't even due until a few weeks from now."
"They do have to grade everything," he commented, not especially caring about the topic. If he had more time, there really wouldn't have been much of a difference
Reigen lets himself fall onto the ground, "I doubt they actually grade everything. There's too much!"
He's not expecting an answer and Mob doesn't really know what to say so they end up in silence again but only for a moment. Reigen turns to him, "Lay down next to me."
Mob feels himself grow warm under his sweater but does as Reigen says. They both lie on the grass and he knows and feels how close their hands are to touching. Ekubo had decided not to join them and he's glad for that. He's sure he would comment on how Mob is blushing, how loud his heart is beating, how his fingers twitch in anticipation, hoping there will be an excuse, anything, for them to close the distance (but of course, he can't really think of anything, the last time they held hands was because Reigen started running and didn't want to leave Mob behind, before that it was to check and see if Mob had started bleeding after falling, before that to forcefully hand him his payment for the ramen they had after classes, and before that-)
Reigen holds his hand. His hand is clammy and warm and soft, Is he nervous too? His heart is in his throat and ears and maybe even on his palm and he wonders if Reigen can feel it beating so quickly
"Hey Mob," he says softly, he's turned to look at Mob
Mob does the same, "Yes?" And he just stares at Mob for a moment and seems to nod to himself
"I, I don't usually eavesdrop you know," he started, "but I saw you with Ekubo the other day. I heard him saying...I heard him say I only hang out with you because of your powers." Mob feels Reigen squeeze his hand tighter, "So I decided not to see you this past week. I mean, I was also busy with school work and you were too but I was thinking too and I wanted to tell you something."
Mob can't look away and he nods, letting Reigen know he's listening, that he can continue.
Reigen takes a deep breath, "I like you!"
It's so sudden and loud that Mob freezes in place, his pulse skyrocketing, the confession echoing in his mind and he's confused as to how they went from talking about Ekubo and his powers, to suddenly being confessed to. Reigen looks down at their hands and just smiles, moves his fingers away and Mob doesn't want that. He feels like he can breathe again and he nervously grabs Reigen's retreating hand.
It's his turn now, "I-I like you!...too."
It's quiet for a moment and then Reigen laughs, his body relaxes, and he threads their fingers together, "I'm so glad! I'm so happy, can you feel it?" He's moved their hands onto his chest and Mob can feel how fast his heart is beating. Exactly like his
"Mine too," he confesses.
Reigen grins at him, leaves their hands on his chest but rearranges them so that it's more comfortable, "This is the best day," he all but whispers. Mob only catches it because he can't look away
"You know, the first time I saw you, I thought you were so cool," Reigen confesses, "Well, you're still cool but you're also really cute."
Mob feels like he's burning up again, "The time with the desks?"
Reigen turns to him, a bit of a blush on his face, and Mob is fascinated. Reigen doesn't really blush, not even when he gets nervous (not that he gets nervous often, he's very confident and knowledgeable), "Well, about that...actually, this is going to sound kind of weird but...that wasn't the first time I saw you..."
And now Mob is confused because he's pretty sure he would remember someone like Reigen
"You went to Salt Middle School, right?" he doesn't wait for Mob to answer but Mob nods, "Well, I have a friend who went there, and I went to see him. There was some event going on, I just remember a marathon, but he was faking being sick and kind of left me alone. I know, what kind of friend does that, right? Well, I was just walking around and I somehow ended up watching everyone run and then I saw you. Your knee was bleeding but you had this really determined look in your eyes, I think I heard someone say you eventually passed out but I really thought you were cool. That same friend mentioned you got into this university and I thought maybe we could be friends. Well, that was before I actually saw you."
He's grins at Mob, "After I saw you I knew I wanted to date you."
"D-Date?" Mob croaks out but then he pauses, that's the logical next step, right? If they both like each other then...
"Are we boyfriends now?" he asks quietly.
Reigen sits up and turns to Mob, "That's what I forgot! Yes! Do you want to be my boyfriend Shigeo Kageyama?"
Mob smiles. He sits up too, "Yes."
----
OMAKE (One year later)
Reigen finishes up the tidying and turns to Mob who is setting up the "counter" where he will mainly be taking payments. They don't have a lot in terms of starting capital so everything they've bought or scrounged up are the bare essentials. Reigen starts, "You know, you don't have to stop going to school. You could help part-time. I don't want your scary brother to think I stole you away or something."
Mob can't help but let out a small laugh at the almost accurate accusation, "It's okay, I talked to him about it, and my family too. I didn't really know what I wanted to continue studying so this works out." He'd finally finished up his electives, leaving him no wiggle room for classes. His counselor had scheduled a meeting with him and pretty much said that if he didn't have a career path in mind, it was best to just take a break. School was expensive and Mob's grades had never been great. He'd taken a break and in that time Reigen had finished his own degree
Ekubo comes in through the window, "Shigeo, you sure you want to be part of this shady business? Spirits and Such Consultations? Sounds like a con-gig to me."
Reigen claps loudly, "Not conning people! We're really going to help some people out. Mob can exorcise spirits and if there aren't any spirits involved, we just find a solution to what's bothering them. Here are some fliers." He hands a stack to Mob and then looks at Ekubo, "Well, I guess you can't pass these around. That's fine."
Ekubo sighs, "I wouldn't even if I had a body. Shigeo, we're going to get shut down."
"Not all businesses are successful the first time! We just have to be flexible, right Mob?"
Mob nods, and pulls Reigen into a back hug. He's sure everything will work out. Reigen is passionate and hardworking, and Mob is willing to match that dedication with his own love.
There's a knock on the door and they all scramble, even Ekubo.
"Our first customer!" "I can't believe someone actually came in here!" "I'll get some tea started!"
Reigen calls out that the door is unlocked and three kids come inside. They're all wearing the same uniform, a baseball one Reigen notes, and they look so different in personality it's almost jarring, but a customer is a customer. He gestures towards the "sitting area" and as they all settle down, he begins...
"Welcome to Spirits and Such Consultation, what can we do for you guys?"
One of them looks like he's already fallen asleep and the smallest looks over to the brown-haired kid and nudges his leg.
"Well, you see..."

A/N:
OMG it's been AGES since I last wrote in this fandom!!
I hope you guys enjoyed and that I wasn’t too rusty...!
Some notes + I like to play around with ages but this is the first time I've done a same age AU + GOD I hope they're not TOO ooc (but they probably are *cries*) + I originally had this other idea with ghosts but then this one won out
Sameage au in which Mob is confused about who he likes and Reigen, well, is Reigen
tis the season of giving so i'll finally be working on this!! (and other mrm fics). i have at least two prompts in the mobstocking event i'd like to do :D also, I re-found some other mp100 prompts that people asked me to write so I'll try to do at least one more from that list before the year ends hehe
----
i'll def need to plan for this one but I'm thinking something: mob has been comfortable around reigen but he's never actually seen him date or like *show interest* for other people like that. he's thinking so hard reigen is like, mob I can see steam coming out of your head, you know you can talk to me right??
and mob gets all flustered and he hasn't rehearsed this yet, he wanted a bit of time, but reigen is pushy and so he asks reigen if he's ever liked anyone and now it's reigen's turn to overthink
he's having a whole ass monologue and then awkwardly coughs into his fist and is like, do you like someone
mob is shy and he's like uh, yeah?
and reigen has known mob for so long he remembers that one girl from school, what was her name? wracks his brain and remembers, grinning, is this about that tsubomi girl? and mob is a little confused because that's the *problem*
he takes a bit of time to think and is like, well...kind of? i do like tsubomi but maybe...maybe someone else too?
reigen's eyes SHINE because ok, mob has always been a bit of a shy kid but now he's growing up, his hormones are clearly acting up, and he's coming to HIM (ok so maybe he pushed the guy but hey! he opened up on his own) for help
and he takes helping his pupil *seriously*

i'll add it to the drabbles collection on ao3 once I'm done!
p.s. i missed the same age au part but don't worry I'll add that LOL
He tries to keep his tone light, to make it seem like he doesn’t care, but his voice gets softer when he says the word ‘serious’, and then he needs to clear his throat because why does it feel like he’s choking all of a sudden?! (ReiMobRei, MP100)
In Need of a Trim

——————————————————————————
Reigen is almost 50 years old when Mob realizes that he’s been dying his hair regularly. He’s not sure how he missed it, thinking back on it now. The signs are obvious: Reigen coming home with a different set of clothes (the job got a bit messy, that’s all) and how unnaturally glossy his hair looked sometimes (oh you know, I’ve been trying out this new product, it’s supposed to make you GLOW ). But his biggest clue should have been Reigen’s age
Ritsu is younger than Mob and he’s been showing grey hairs since he turned 30. Ritsu, as usual, never fails to make a pointed remark toward Reigen at Mob’s observation
“Ritsu,” Mob admonishes him. Ritsu had come to visit Seasoning City (he’d moved out years ago) for their parents’ birthdays and had made plans to have dinner with him. They were now at a restaurant near Reigen’s office (yes, they were still doing Spirit Consulting and yes, Ritsu was still slightly bitter about that)
Ritsu rolls his eyes, “Fine. Fine. I’m sorry, but really? Even Mom, who used all those anti-aging products, got grey hairs before she hit 50.”
“But I’ve never seen him with any grey hairs,” he counters.
Ritsu, who had been about to take another bite of his hamburger, pauses. He shrugs a second later, “He probably dyes it. I can’t think of another explanation.”
He digs in and chews, thinking, and then nods, his mouth still slightly occupied, “Pro’ly w’ried.”
Mob frowns, genuinely confused, “Worried? About what?”
Ritsu smiles at him, “You really are still the same when it comes to some things. Fine! I’ll help. It’s his age, Shigeo. His partner is 14 years younger than him! He’s probably worried about how that looks to others.”
He sends one of those looks at Mob and Mob decides to ignore it. He’s focused on this revelation. Yes, he’s conscious that Reigen and he have a rather hefty age gap and many people have expressed their disapproval throughout their lives, but this had been something the two talked about before.
He thought that Reigen had understood that age was something Mob didn’t care about, but as he continues to talk with Ritsu, he realizes that perhaps he hadn’t been as reassuring as he could have been. He’d need to try harder, and the first step was to see if Reigen was truly dying his hair
.
.
.
He’s not exactly sure how to bring up the subject. If Ritsu is right and Reigen IS dying his hair (Mob is realizing the possibility of this being true has now shot up to 99%) because he’s worried, should he just march into their home and announce, Reigen, I don’t care if you have grey hairs, I think they’re beautiful?
Reigen would surely call him a liar and he’d partially be one. After all, he’d never actually seen these alleged grey hairs (but Mob knows he’d love them because they were Reigen’s grey hairs, so no, he wouldn’t really be lying)
.
.
.
Reigen realizes something is wrong with Mob immediately. He hasn’t been officially together with Mob for nearly a decade for nothing! His usual modus operandi is to let Mob come to him, to let him sort out his thoughts and feelings, which is why he doesn’t say anything.
He doesn’t say anything when he feels Mob’s stare all day as he’s trying to convince a pair of teenagers that him being old is actually a good thing, It’s the young swindlers you need to be wary of! I have wisdom beyond my years! Besides, he coughs, we’ve been doing this for longer than you tweens have been alive. We’re experts! Right Mob?
Mob misses his cue and Reigen nearly swats the little twerp who mutters, He doesn’t look like he’s all there either…
Luckily, he does come back to his senses when it’s time to do the job, which somehow ends up with Reigen falling into a ditch and ruining his trademark suit. It’s been a while since that’s happened and Mob apologizes so much that Reigen decides to show him that yes, he’s more than forgiven, and no, it’s not your job to stop my every fall, it’s ok, besides, we finished the job quickly, you did really well
As they lay in bed, Reigen the big spoon this time, he can’t help but wonder if this has something to do with him and that’s why (a week after Reigen noticed) Mob hasn’t said anything
.
.
.
It most definitely is related to Reigen.
Reigen really hates to bring up his age as an explanation for everything (he’s come to realize that this is an “old-man” trait), but in this case, he’s sure becaus e he’s no spring chicken. But also, Mob is a little too fixated on him, touching his hair and face at random moments with no mind to their setting, petting him , watching him when he thinks Reigen isn’t paying attention, staring him down when Reigen decides to make eye contact, his mind silently screaming tell me what’s wrong! This is your chance! But no.
It’s honestly starting to get a bit unnerving and since he doesn’t want to live the rest of his unmarried married life with a quiet, potentially too contemplative, and getting creepier by the week Mob (he’s not even sure how he survived a month of this already!), he decides to ask for some help
He’s at the station with a disgruntled Ritsu on the line. He’s tight-lipped.
“You do realize my allegiance is with my brother and that I hate you, right?”
The sound of the train leaving echoes in the space, making Ritsu nearly inaudible but Reigen has heard this line so many times, his brain fills in the words he misses. And, like always, he replies, “Don’t you get tired of lying? I know you don’t actually hate me. Besides,” he counters, “I don’t want you to spill, I just…need a hint. Is it…serious?”
He tries to keep his tone light, to make it seem like he doesn’t care, but his voice gets softer when he says the word ‘serious’, and then he needs to clear his throat because why does it feel like he’s choking all of a sudden?!
A little voice, the traitorous one that sounds like his parents, whispers in his ear, feeding his fear of losing Mob. He’s probably tired of you and is trying to run you off, what did you expect, at your age
“Aren’t you with my brother now? Just ask him.” Except that they’re not together and that’s the reason he called Ritsu.
“It’s been a busy season so we split up to cover more ground.” Mob hadn’t wanted them to, saying it could be dangerous, but Reigen had a thing for weeding out most of the non-spirits-related cases and had taken on those jobs
Ritsu sighs dramatically, “Fine!”
And Reigen should be happy at the admittance but he knows Ritsu so he’s sure he’s not getting what he wants. Ritsu is only compromising, but that doesn’t stop him from smiling, or his heart from hammering in his chest, worried and anxious. He’s sure he paints an interesting picture. He’s already paid his fair but he’s standing in an alcove in the middle of the station, his suit tattered at the back, mud on his knees and calves, and a few scratches on his hands
He’s probably sweating a lot too. He can feel it
“It’s not what you’re imagining! That’s all I’m giving away!” he yells and then mutters a not-so-quiet, you two are equally hopeless! before the line goes dead
.
.
.
Reigen makes it back home before Mob, which surprises him. He’s moving on autopilot: removing his clothes (ruined), washing off the grime and smell of angry cats from his hair (it’s getting long again), and then soaking his tired bones (why is he so tired?). It’s when he’s sitting in the tub (for how long, he’s not even sure) that he snaps back to reality. He yells out, “How do you even know what I’m imagining?!”
Yelling helps him relax and then he starts laughing at how ridiculous this all is. At how ridiculous he’s being
He shakes his head, “At least he didn’t say not to call back this time.” Not that Reigen ever listens to that demand
Mob comes home right when Reigen is dry, but still only wrapped in a towel, debating whether to try and save his suit pants or just throw them away.
(They decide to try and save them together)
.
.
.
Mob finally says something three months later. It’s summer, the heat is unbearable even at night, and Reigen is upset about how long his hair is. He’s fresh out of the shower, wearing his loose and comfy pajamas and Mob beckons him over to the couch.
He uses his powers to turn on the light so that it isn’t just the light from the TV bouncing on the walls. Reigen sits next to him and Mob maneuvers them so that Reigen is between his legs. He uses the towel around Reigen’s neck to start drying his hair
“What’s wrong?” he asks. Reigen bumps his back a few times and groans when Mob applies a bit more pressure with his powers.
“My hair is getting too long and the place I usually go to just closed!” he complains, “The owner retired and the girl that works there decided to open up her own place elsewhere. I’m happy for her. They pay better in the big city, but now I’ll have to find a new place.”
Mob touches the ends of Reigen’s damp hair and smiles, “It is getting a little long.”
Reigen leans back, further into Mob, which makes drying his hair more difficult, but Mob doesn’t mind. He puts his arms around his waist and breathes in the smell of Reigen’s shampoo.
“I wonder if Tome can recommend something. She’s always going to salons with her wife.” Reigen’s voice is less directed at Mob and more just him talking to himself.
“I can cut it for you,” Mob suggests. He’s not even sure why he says it. He’s never cut hair before.
Reigen turns to him and raises his brow, “Don’t tell me you’re secretly a professional barber?”
Mob kisses Reigen’s crow’s feet and smiles, “No, but I’m sure I can learn. For you.”
Reigen contemplates, “I don’t know…”
Mob has him sit up so he can finish drying his hair. Once it feels dry enough, he sends the towel to the back of one of the kitchen chairs and runs his hands through Reigen’s hair. He smooths it down and as he’s running his fingers through the hairs covering his ears (definitely needs a trim), he sees them. Little grey hairs sticking out, barely visible, and only the roots
Mob leans down to kiss his hair, right behind his ear, and whispers, “Beautiful.”
.
.
.
Mob’s staring stops but the hair touching (somehow) intensifies and Reigen realizes what this is all really about.
They’ve always had a routine before bed, which consists of Mob helping Reigen dry his hair and Reigen (usually) giving him a massage (he’s only gotten better after all these years of practice). But now Mob wants to comb his hair, especially on days when Reigen wakes up with bedhead. Since it’s easier (and feels nicer) than pulling out mirror after mirror to try and see the back of his head, Reigen agrees to Mob’s insistence
But not always! I can’t have you pampering me every day. Think of it as a treat. And when Mob’s face lights up, Reigen realizes it’ll be a treat for them both
It doesn’t stop there. Mob also makes sure Reigen sees that he’s serious about his hair-cutting proposition. They’re in the office, Mob at the computer, looking up hair-cutting tutorials and they’re all (un)surprisingly for short hairstyles like his.
Reigen hovers behind Mob’s chair.
They’d been so busy for the last few months but this week things had finally started to slow down. Today almost seemed like an anomaly. They’d had no scheduled clients (potentially suspicious) but also no walk-ins either. He’d briefly considered closing early but with age also came this need to do something, to be useful . He couldn’t just close up for no reason
“You’re serious about this,” he says after Mob clicks on a new video.
“I’m always serious about you, about us,” Mob replies without a second thought.
