Two people at once:
If that’s truly her then I know who’s to blame
If it’s truly me then I’m going insane
your last words before you die are the 3rd line of the last song you listened to. what are we saying ladies?

Pre-Hysteria Earth legends had a mythical bird known as the “phoenix”. This creature was said to live essentially forever, for whenever it neared the end of its lifespan, the phoenix would spontaneously combust with neither igniter nor fuel, burning to ashes. From those ashes the same bird would arise once more, youthful and exuberant. The process was said to repeat indefinitely, and images of phoenixes were frequently used as symbols of strength and resilience.
My squadron, the 323rd Walled, has gone through dozens of roster changes throughout the years. Captain Process has been around the longest, but everyone was brought on at some point to fill an empty rig. None of us is really new though - every time the godflame engines reignite and the waves start pumping, a little bit of our souls gets drawn into the flow. I can feel a dozen deaths and a dozen hearts pounding down my spine with each pulse of my boosters. I can even remember names: Stone, Hwang, Sanders and Luden. Francis was the first, while Zhao came right before me. Like clockwork, I and everyone else in the 323rd will eventually burn up in the fires of battle; and when we do, our warm ashes will be ready to nestle the next young pilot in line.
Lancer npcs, simple paint job just tac-display green & black. Relativistically displaced Sec-Com soldiers, two armies that both see themselves as the good guys fighting to liberate humanity. Obviously for the bigger bad guys I'm going to paint the suits dark blue, black and yellow, that's just how that works. Suits are from Crimson Steel Merchworks on myminifactory.
Finished a major Lancer commission batch a couple months ago
A Planet Shark video has appeared in the wild. I'm so thrilled about it.
Kitbashed this Everest together for Lancer a while ago, and having recently played through Titanfall 2 again, decided on the basic BT look after I couldn't decide how to paint him
Tried to mimic the official Everest design I've seen floating around, but I'm partial to the blocky style head so I stole that from a Battletech Highlander
Actually a lot is from Battletech, the legs are an Assassin and the Torso is a Black Knight. I love the Vladof guns from Borderlands so I found one of those for my assault rifle, and the arms are from the free mech set Filamentio released. I think that's most of it...
Oh shoutout to Death Ray Designs for their shark mouth nose art and industrial decals, they're great
Swan Song is just :’((

MECHANISMS REF IMAGE MASTERPOST
Okay, so I put together refs for each of the mechs as best I can. I tried to avoid anything in a show lighting, but sometimes it can't be helped. Notes will be underneath each section
Whole cast
Ivy is the only character leaning on the wall in the second image, but is roughly as tall as Ashes
Jonny D'Ville
Jonny in earlier shows like TTBT wears a black shirt underneath instead of the white. He occasionally has red or black painted nails and his goggles are either black or bronze. He has a black 7 of diamonds. He often holds a mic - which is a Shure Super 55
Drumbot Brian
He usually has just the flower in his hat, but sometimes it's replaced with RAM or his drumsticks. His goggle has a very small crack at the base. The rings seem to be a bit of a motherboard and screws? The visible heart is something I can only find in one picture, but it's cool
Gunpowder Tim
Sometimes wears jeans instead of dark brown trousers. His eye scars are more geometric than Jonny's, and he has dark eye shadow around the eyes where Jonny uses just eyeliner
Raphaella la Cognizi
The top is three layers: a white/cream shirt, a brown puffy shirt and a a top layer which has a halter neck. Occasionally one or both of the undershirts won't be worn (see HNOC liveshow). Tights can be blue or black. Light up wings from DTTM
The leggings/tights are sometimes black and sometimes deep blue
Ivy Alexandria
A few different outfits, in liveshows they're also wearing some outfits not shown here - but always black and red with a waistcoat of some kind.
Nastya Rasputina
The necklace is a little cat :3
Marius von Raum
Kneepads in DTTM. The cards are a jack and ace of hearts. Necktie either has a white or gold pattern on it, but they don't always wear it. The green jacket has a tailcoat
The Toy Soldier
Hair varies a lot. Sometimes it's worn down, in a ponytail or hidden under the hat. Sometimes nails are painted red or black
Ashes O'Reilly
In live shows they often wear this eyeliner which has thick bars that go behind the ears - but I couldn't find any clear pictures of this. Though their outfits changes, always mostly black with some red in the hair
Dr Carmilla post can be found here
I hope this was in some way helpful to anyone who wants to draw the mechanisms. If you have questions feel free to ask me in the ask box and I will do my best to answer them and provide some photos <3 have a great day

drumble
So I had a little thought last night. We all love Drumbot Brian. but why do we love him so much? His character doesn't have the deranged murderer energy that makes Jonny so likable, nor does he have whatever it is Tim has that makes everyone want his gender, etc etc... but his character and stage presence simply radiate warmth and good vibes.
And sometimes we don't want to commit murder, or gender theft, or medical malpractice. Sometimes we just feel like lying down in a sunbeam for a little while. a little while. a LITTLE WH-
for someone who named itself lyfrassir I talk very little about lyfrassir edda so here's the hcs:
-he's extremely good at organizing(the staff often assigns him very tedious organizing jobs they don't wanna do but they love those)
-they paint, and have multiple times accidentally drank paint water instead of regular water
-one time they got so drunk that they stumbled into his workplace at 3am because they thought they were late(Marius, Ivy and Raphaella saw that incident and will never let them forget it)
-they experimented with neopronouns, and even if he doesn't tell anyone, star/stars kinda stuck with them
-star often places small trinkets he thinks the others would like in their rooms because they find it awkward to actually gift things
-in the same category, stars horrible at accepting gifts, not because he doesn't like them! but because they don't know how to explain their gratefulness
Happy Fuck You And Fuck Your Train Friday!!!

I have an idea for how to have battle Mechs in a realistic sci-fi setting!!!
They are ceremonial
Since Mechs are really cool but kinda impractical....have that been the point. "we are so powerful that we can go out of our way to make war machines that are slightly worse but way cooler and still win" it's intimidating and inspiring to see giant walking humanoid robots on the battlefield, but mostly they are used for propaganda rather than actual combat....
Bring them in once the day is already almost won to Finnish up the battle and claim that the Mechs were the thing that brought final victory. Then have your photo shoot and make lots of posters for all your citizens to look at and go "wow that's so cool. I sure am glad my tax money is being wasted on this instead of going to something practical or beneficial to society"
So I've spent the last month or so getting a little too into Lancer, I could rant about how amazing it is but just go check it out if you're not familiar. Anyways I'm making some of the NPC mechs, mainly out of free 3d print files I found online. Here's my first Assault mech, the generic shooty one
Lancer Assault NPC number 2. The way NPC templates and classes work make playing NPCs as a GM actually fun, the variety and character you can add on with minimal effort is superb
Got another Lancer NPC finished up. This time it's a Priest, a support mech. I'm roughly following the Operation Solstice Rain encounter list for making mechs, but after encounter 1 I think I'm switching over to our player characters
Finished up my Ronin NPC for Lancer. These things are fun; shoot at it? It bounces back at you jedi style. Melee? It's built for that. It doesn't even have bad base stats, and the optional systems aren't hugely complicated, which is important for people like myself who can't remember things
The big defender in our first encounter for Lancer, a Bastion. Not too much to say other than I'm glad it's done, far too many corners and hidden surfaces, and the model has several notable weak points I've had to address so it took much longer than I was hoping
