the fact that Parker dies before the series even starts is the biggest travesty of Malevolent

I think we should make a Travesty Trio, of Bella, Faroe, and Parker. Host a book club or something. I think they deserve comfort, and companionship, a safe place to talk about their lives, and Arthur

I think The Wraith is severely underrated. She's so fucking awesome. She encompasses two things that Arthur is extremely divisive and passionate about. Losing a child (she also lost her child) and harming a child (she kidnapped a baby). She's also been trapped there for probably decades, and clung to the first thing that reminded her of her precious child. Arthur saw himself in her, and saved her. I love that Arthur chooses to save her at the very beginning of the episode.

Decisions offered at the end, then actually chosen on in the next I LOVE. As a Patron it shows that choice, and completely, and utterly Arthur's, since no poll is between episodes. He made a difficult choice, and saved her, with no exterior motivations.

Then after he left, and saved the baby, she followed. She saw herself in him. Both of them lost a child, and whole selves were molded around that loss. She saw him die, and saved him. His dying thoughts were to Faroe, which I think that's the exact reason she saved him.

Also she sounds so loving, heartbroken and lost. She comforted the baby, she fought for it. She felt her loss renewed, at Arthur tricking her. She honored Arthur's deal. SHE. aUAVJSBKDVDJ

I have been thinking of this post way too much, I'm gonna write a blurb per Parkthur art. Sorry Dollins fans, but I'm here for the Parkthur fans (me)

Number 1

Arthur sat shoulder to shoulder with Parker. A new case wrapped up. Now all that was left was to celebrate the completion of an easy, well paying case.

Parker smiles at Art, Arthur didn't catch the mischievous glint until too late.

And then Parker's hand was in his hair. Undoing his meticulous styling and hair gel, definitely getting his hand sticky in the process. Arthur smiled in spite of himself.

"Get your hand off me!" Arthur complained despite smiling like a beaming bride "I'm not a fucking child."

Parker ruffled his hair more, laughing at Arthur.

"Maybe next time you try to convince me to stop, don't smile so wide"

Number 2

Arthur sat at the counter, tea in one hand, and a mediocre novel in the other. It was a sweet, domestic type day. Eating breakfast cooked by Parker, and then enjoying the early morning.

He loved slow mornings like this, always had.

Too engrossed in his book, he hadn't noticed someone coming up behind him, until he felt a breath on his neck. Smiling, there was only one person it could be.

Parker wrapped his arms around Arthur, and buries hia face in his shoulder. Inhaling the scent of old clothes, aftershave, and cologne.

A slight grin settled on Arthur's face, enjoying the comforting pressure of Parker.

Number 4

Parker had that cocky grin.

"you really are a sight for sore eyes" Parker smiled from where he sat on the counter.

Arthur grimaced at the blush spreading across his face.

"you're more handsome than any other man, and trust me I've seen plenty"

Parker tended to do this every once and awhile, complimenting, and flustering the hell out of him.

"I catch myself unable to stop lookin at you. You're stunnin, my beau." Parker stepped down

Arthur's breath stuttered "You're just saying that"

"you want me to prove it?" Parker smiled "Cause, it'd be my honor."

Arthur was sure he was blushing like some sort of damsel. He nodded, anticipation freezing him.

Pushing him gently against the counter, Parker kissed him. It was a loving, caring kiss. No hunger, just love. Arthur had to steady himself against the counter.

They'd kissed dozens of times, but each time shocked Arthur. Someone loved him so thoroughly, someone found him attractive. It was enough to stun any man.

Parker was a damned good kisser.

The case wasn't doing well, they were scratching the bottom of the barrel for clues. Some things hit too close to home. They were both tense, they had to finish it quickly to put food on the table.

"Shit, English" Parker groaned.

Arthur hummed "Agreed"

Arthur bit his lip, willing away any tears. Parker caught notice, ever observant Parker. Always sniffing out when Arthur wasn't doing so hot.

"Can I help you get rid of any stress, love?" Parker said, full of care.

Arthur breathed "I would like that, yes." Parker smiled, and he smiled back.

Softly holding his head, Parker tilted his head up and kissed him.

Arthur held onto Parker like he was on the verge of falling. It felt so good being cared for like this. He let Parker kiss away his hurts.

They both relaxed in the embrace, finally a breath of fresh air.

I believe whenever the Black Stone has someone to do with children, or child death. Or just innocence? Maybe it has something to do with Kayne's daughter.

Also I didn't really connect the lighter specifically with Faroe, just any fire they lit. I saw it more as she's not in the lighter, but she's been in every fire lit with it. And that she isn't exactly imprisoned, just following her dad

Okay, so. Episode 45

For the longest time I’ve believed that the lighter is special because it contains/it is the black stone

Then the episode came out, and now we now that Faroe is in that lighter (at least in some way, like her soul or something). Which is a completely new perspective

It made me throw away the idea of the lighter being the black stone for the idea of Faroe “living” in it, to the point that I forgot the two can and should co-exist

The lighter does contain the black stone. That’s the reason why Faroe’s spirit was imprisoned in it. That’s why it was actually able to hold a whole freaking soul inside this whole time. I’ve no idea who put her soul there though, since Kayne can’t see the lighter

It makes so much sense to me but it’s late so I may not make much sense to others sorry Malevolent makes me cry and think (but I love it it’s ok)

I'm doing a counter like this, not as well done though. This is really cool though.

If you're trying to search a specific word that shows up in the middle of words like how you said with "eat" as spaces before and after when you search it. That's what i did when word searching their names since every single thing they say starts with "ARTHUR:"/"JOHN:" I searched "arthur " instead of "arthur"

Also did you know Arthur's name is said quadruple amount of times John's is?

the arthur lester injuries spreadsheet with bonus director commentary is now out. please enjoy. i spent probably 8 hours scouring the transcripts, and like half an hour analyzing the data and making the spreadsheet itself and half an hour writing my director's commentary and a fucking hour trying to figure out how to share this without my real legal name attached... i've changed my mind this is not a "please enjoy" post this is a "you better enjoy this with how much work i put into it" post.

It's only earlier episodes, I think it cuts off around the beginning on s2? And when I first listened I mistook them for ambience like wood sticks being hit, or something falling. It's usually around the times where Arthur & John are looking or inspecting their environment

I have heard so many people talking about the dice rolling sounds in malevolent. i listened to it on apple podcasts bc thats the only app that works on my archaic 2012 ipod and i've never heard them?? even when I listened to some on my computer on spotify I just never noticed any dice sounds?? am I losing it???

Well... I've read the fics... I'd say it's safe to assume maybe there was more....

New Theory!!!

John knew who the Lady that is Scratch.

First of all, he obviously recognizes her. It's on the tip of his tongue. Like meeting a long lost colleague, and barely remembering they existed. He even asks the painting who she is!! He also keeps on making statements like "it was..." Or "Though she..." Like he's right on the cusp of remembering someone.

Second, you just don't act this way with a stranger. A stranger even a scary one like this doesn't immediately disorient you, and make you focus on her. Even when forgetting about the painting he knows she's important. Even when the importance of the painting isn't in his mind.

Third, John describes her as lovely, in a strange endearing way. Like fantasizing, or recalling a pleasant memory. His descriptions seem loving as well.

Conclusion

I think she was someone of great importance to the KiY, maybe even a relative. Someone that even the KiY would be fond of. And John who only has a vague but terrifying silhouette of his time as king forgot about, but was immediately pulled back into when seeing her. I was thinking a mom or sister, but idk enough about Lovecraft to know.

I got inspired and instead of sleeping I wrote this:

"They sat curled amongst each other on the couch. Parker raised his head from where it was resting on Arthur's shoulder.

He was laughing, one of the best noises Arthur ever had the pleasure of hearing. Parker had said a stupid joke, and Arthur responded, he didn't care enough to remember what he said, all he had to do was bask in Parker's presence.

They weren't doing anything. They weren't kissing or anything, just sharing each other's breath.

Arthur couldn't really explain the particularities of the love he felt for Parker. All he knew was that it was overwhelming. So much it ached.

"I love you." Arthur muttered into Parker's hair.

"I love ya too." Parker sighed, content "You love me the most, eh Art?" Parker goaded.

Arthur went silent. Images of an innocent, smart, sweet, funny, wild little girl floated through his head. No matter how overwhelming his love for Parker was, it would never be the most. Nothing would ever be not important to him then Faroe, his daughter.

"No," Arthur almost whispered "You're not. But you're a strong second"

It would be lying if Parker said he didn't burn with curiosity, and a bit of jealousy. He knew about Arthur's past romantic life, so it wasn't likely to be an ex-beau. But that just raised more questions. If it wasn't for his respect and love for Arthur he'd be desperate to get answers.

Arthur carded his fingers through Parker's hair, almost apologetically.

"That's perfectly fine, English." Parker curled tighter "I don't need to be your #1, just your lover."

And they both smiled, and burned with domestic, holy, love. And they cursed all the gods that damned their relationship."

Sometimes when l tell people I like horror podcasts they go "oh, same, I love true crime!!" and I just have to nod along, because there is no way to explain to them that we exist in entirely separate worlds and also that my opinion of them just went down by like 15%

podcasts are great because it's like having a friend tell you about their day while you're doing the dishes but instead it's a bunch of guys running around and experiencing the horrors
