Yea it’s not always super noticeable in writing but there are definitely some differences. Like sometimes I’ll be reading a fic set in America and all of a sudden someone says bloody hell. Or rubbish, yk stuff like that. Honestly it doesn’t bother me at all, when I run across it I think it’s funny. People getting angry over little language differences is just stupid and makes no sense.
Arguably it makes absolutely no sense for magisterium characters to be speaking British English in my fanfics because they've never been mentioned to have left America before. I don't care. I'm not going to write in American English for them. That is the one thing I'm not going to do for them.

Idk about everyone else but I LOVE reading ranting posts explaining different AUs people have stuck in their heads just as much as I love reading actual fic
I've written so many incredibly detailed magisterium au's in my head over the years because every time I would watch a TV show or movie I would reimagine it with the magisterium characters. But every time I actually try to actually write any of them into actual text I can't seem to do it. So these super detailed fics just sit in my brain and I can't really do anything with them.
