Alyssa would be lying if she’d said any object for sale in the marketplace was as interesting to her as the people mingling about. People with intriguing objects often had even more intriguing stories of adventure when asked. Attention drifting with particular amusement to someone clearly conning a fool into believing a polished stone was a portion of merfolk scale, Alyssa didn’t notice the other until he’d nearly knocked her over.
