Last night, in the middle of my Bikram Yoga class (because apparently I'm part-hippy), a memory floated up from my subconscious. Which was useful as it distracted me from throwing up in my mouth in the middle of a crappy Yoga pose.
Anyways, that memory is from when I was around 11 years old. I'd moved from Auckland city to a backwater town in the middle of Taranaki. I did not fit in there and I still don't. They think I'm a snobby bitch who's too clever and sarcastic for her own good. And I'm cool with that because I am, especially when compared with them. Contemptuous much? Yes. But what did you expect? The following goes some way to explaining why I feel this way about that town.
So, I was 11 years old and on the cusp of becoming the person I am today. We had been asked to list all the continents, or something like that. I forget. It was something to do with continents, so meh.Ā One of the girls sitting next to me saw the list and showed it to a whole bunch of other girls. Soon, there were peals of laughter. Why? Because I had apparently made up an hilarious new word.
That wordĀ was Antarctica.

the funniest thing I find abt my school bullies is how useless their attempts to hurt me emotionally are. honestly it's funny. like they say "oh i think something's wrong with her" in a stage whisper and I'm thinking "you've been bullying me for what, two years now? and you're just figuring this out NOW?" ā ā
their also scared shitless of me and are scared to say something to me directly because i'm a 6'0 transgirl with chest muscles i've built large enough to be confused as boobs and I could break their jaw with my fist if i wanted to lmao.
ofc i'd confront them if i found out if they were bullying someone else but for now it's just funny.

So this might be a bit long but this needs to be told (td:lr down below). So first I'm nonbinary and prefer they/them pronouns but I was born female, and is pretty obvious, this class is one of my larger ones (around forty student) and I'm sitting next to this large group of rather obnoxious boys (I'm calling them how they act) I'm listening in on their conversation as I work because they where talking to a friend of mine he was goofing around and was sitting near by, one of them shouted "hey, girl!" I was the only 'female' nearby so I turned, he asked me some stupid question I answered them told them 'and sorry but I'm not a girl' they started laughing and one said 'what are you then a boy?' 'uh, no I'm neither' I replied another said 'okay, let's see your not a girl?' And thinking I was getting to them I replied 'right.' 'and your not a boy?' 'correct I'm nonbin-' 'then I guess we'll call you an IT' 'yeah like one of those 'trans' people' and then my disgust was palpable I was already in trouble for fighting in school but at that moment I was willing to ignore this, then the bell rung after some nasty words from both sides, then they complained to the teacher before leaving and I got a in-school suspension for fighting.
