The Paradox of Avoidance: Why Ignoring Thoughts Can Amplify Them

Language problems
So, what is the officiall word for gypsy in english? Because I only know the word gypsy and I know it is like the german word Zigeuner. It is orignially insulting. In german they are mostly called Sinti und Roma wich isn’t correct either, because there are a lot of groups that are neither Sinti nor Roma, so a lot of people still use Zigeuner, not as an insult but as an actual word for all of these people. And if someone actually wants to insult these people they say Zigeunerpack (bunch of gypsys). Not as far as I expericenced noone outside of movies does that anyways.
So I wanted to sak what is the officiall word for gypsy in english? If an actual person who fits that description would answer that would be amazing!
