“Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.”
I spent a lovely morning at the museum of fine arts and exploring the city a bit. The fresh air and scenery was a nice change after a short bout of homesickness.
This post would be hecka long if I included even half the art I absorbed, so here’s a couple I thought were pretty neat: Calle Larrazuria (Pablo Uranga), Jardín (Inocencio Asarta), Estanque con Surtidor (Fernando de Amárica), La Presa del Puente (Amárica), and El sol da resplandores a los lugares humildes (Amárica).

Union Station #12 2019, Oil on Wood 14" x 11" Past painting of Union Station in Toronto Canada. One of my favorite buildings to paint and over the years of painting it has changed quite a bit. Several of the spots in the station that I've painted no longer exist so the paintings act as a document of history.

Since I’ll be stuck at home for a while, I’m going to resume uploading artwork. Here are two still life paintings I made in my Painting class.
Both of them were painted on 14″ x 17″ mixed media paper with oil paint.
This was a 3-week project I worked on in my Painting class. This was painted on a 22″ x 30″ canvas.
Here’s a photo of the still life I used for this painting.
One of the assignments I received in my painting class had to be about an ancestor. The first person I thought of was my late grandmother. This painting is based off a photo of her holding me when I was a baby.
This was made with oil paint on mixed media paper.
I made this for my Painting class. This was painted with watercolor.
This is my painting for the final assignment. This is based on a photo I took when I worked as a camp counselor. I wasn't allowed to have a phone (or any electronics) out in front of my campers, so I took this when no one was looking. This was painted with watercolor.
Those are small packets of Nutella in the foreground. These were given out during lunchtime, and many campers (including myself) would grab a bunch of these. The toy sitting on top of the packet was something one of my campers gave to me. I still have it. In the background, that was an art project I worked on with some campers. It was made with colored tissue papers and film holders (at least I think that's what they're called. Correct me if I'm wrong.), then connected with copper wire.
