Idk if you have seen that one text ss where the guy is like "take a nap" and then a few hours later he goes "I said a nap not a fucking coma" feel like that would be sooooo rafe x reader, like reader just falls asleep anywhere and everywhere and rafe is just like "girl.....đ"
thought of two instances of this! thank u for requesting, i hope u enjoy!
âhey, hey,â rafe shakes your arm, sighing. âmm.. r-rafe?â you mumble, your vision a bit blurry as you wake up, yawning. âw-what you doing here?â you question in a little groggy voice, getting shy as you can see him a little clearer. he was just so handsome. âthe fuck you mean? you didnât answer my texts all fuckinâ day. got worried.â he confesses, his eyebrows scrunched together.
âoh.. yea,â you giggle softly. âwas jusâ getting my beauty sleep, papi.â
âb-beauty sleep? you serious? itâs 1:30 in the afternoon.â he scolds in a condescending tone. âpapiii,â you whine, hiding your face in your pillow. âyouâre judging me. can feel it.â
you hear him sigh, rolling his eyes. ânot judging, ma. jusâ.. curious how someone can sleep that long.â âwell.. itâs because it gets tiring being the worlds best girlfriend, lotta weight on my back,â you giggle at your own joke. âmm, yeah. give you that one.â he chuckles before kissing your forehead. âcmon, missed you. weâre going out, yea?â
ŕ¨ŕ§ second instance
âhey, where your girl go man?â topper asked as rafe adjusted his hat backwards. he usually never let you out of eyesight. âuh, what?â he asks before looking around, seeing that you were no longer by the clothing rack that held a variety of cropped, revealing tops that quickly made rafe imagine having to tell you not to wear those when he wasnât around when he first saw you snooping there. âthe fuck?â he quietly whispers to himself, scanning the store.
after a few minutes of looking around and even calling your cellphoneâ he approached one of the workers, already working himself up. âhello, maâam, uh.. wanted to ask if youâve seen a girl wearing a pink dress? has little flowers on it? was wearing those uh tall sandals or whatever you call em,â
âoh, you mean platform sandals?â she giggles softly, âyea she asked me where the dressing room was and headed straight there.â she replies with a small smile. âah, alright. thanks.â
when he arrives to the dressing room he goes to the one stall thatâs closed, knocking before twisting the doorknob. âdidnât even lock the damn thing.â he grumbles to himself before stepping inside.
you sat on the dressing rooms chair with your head leaned back and eyes closed. âoh youâre kidding me.â
he lightly smacks your cheek to wake you up, a bit upset. âo-oh! hi papi,â you say meekly. âwas tired of all that walking.. was only going to take a real small nap..â you confess, your cheeks a flushed pink.
âbaby.. i.. what? cmon doll, you serious with me right now?â he questions, a disapproving expression on his face. âyouâre the one that wanted to go to the mall, remember?â it was true, you wanted to get closer to topper and kelceâ being rafeâs friends and all, so you invited them to go shopping with you. âi-i know papi, we just did so much walking âs all..â you whine, standing up as you hug rafe gently, sighing. âoh doll, cmon. letâs just go already.â he says lightly, dragging you back out and telling the boys it was time to go home for the day, them being secretly glad as they had literally no idea what to do in all the stores you had been visitingâ letâs just say every since then, rafe refused to let go of your hand anytime you guys went out afterwards.
rafe x crybaby!reader who cries and has a full on meltdown in front of rafe and his friends because he said no when she asked him to buy her this new expensive bag!đ
ahhh iâm sorry i honestly hate the way i wrote this so much im so sorry i really hope you like it:< rafe is just a little mean but i mean come on! itâs rafe <3 im sorry i didnât really make her have like a whole real big meltdown i just honestly couldnât write it :<
âDENIEDâ the website reads, just as you were about to finish off your purchase for the new pink limited edition bag you had been eyeing. what? you frown, quickly jumping off your bed, slipping into your pink crocsâ following the noise downstairs, knowing rafe and his friends were hanging out in the living room.
ârafe?â you call, giving a quick greeting to topper and kelce before sitting besides your boyfriend. âwhys it say that?,â you ask, glittery gloss lips in a form of a halfway pout as you show your phone to rafe.
he leans in, taking a quick glance at it before a small chuckle leaves his lips. âyou.. you uh.. really donât remember?â
your brows furrow, head tilting. âwhat do you mean, ray?â confusion laced in your voice.
he looks away briefly before landing back at you. âwell.. thanks to that little stunt you pulled on monday, i decided i wonât be paying for anymore of your little shopping sprees âtill next week.â he states, lips smacking together.
âw-what?â you nervously giggle, cheeks starting to heat up.
it was safe to say, you werenât used to rafe telling you no. every single thing you wanted or asked for was given to you in a few days thanks to express shipping.
you had got perfectly accustomed to the title of being rafeâs spoiled girlfriend. constantly skipping over prices and simply swiping his card. âi.. i thought you were only kidding, daddy.â you mumble softly, not wanting the boys to hear.
âi donât kid about setting you straight, baby.â he says simply, your eyes already starting to burn.. embarrassment clouding your mind.
âbut you already punished me!â you whine as quietly as you can, one of the small tears up in your eyes falls as you recollect the memory of when he had you bent over his lap, spanking you until your ass was practically engraved with his handprint.
âplease daddy, itâll already be sold out by next week,â you cry, trying to make him understand.
but he only looks away, shaking his head. âdonât you have enough purses anyway? bought you plenty already.â he continues, making more tears stream down your cheek at his reluctance.
you notice topper and kelce staring now, concerned with whatever it was you were crying about, looking to themselves with confused expressions. rafe however, was used to your dramatics.
âyouâre just being mean, rafe! i already paid for my mistake.â you plead, grabbing his hands and squeezing them lightly.
topper clears his throat, clearly feeling uncomfortable with the whole situation. kelce hides a small smirk, but pretends not to hear the ordeal anyway.
rafe couldnât care less for the audience, always loving when he had any spotlight with the way he handled you. an opportunity to flaunt the power dynamic between you two.
rafe puts on a faux pout, even making a small âaweâ sound as he moves one hand to wipe your tears. âoh iâm being mean, really? that.. that supposed to make me cave in, hm? let you run along and think every single punishment isnât serious?â
he was so cruel you thought, his mocking pulling at your heart in a negative way. âhey, stop crying, okay? you know im not doing this for fun. these are consequences to your actions.â he prompts, every tear that falls on your cheek being wiped by his hands.
âp-please, just this once..â you mewl. âi promise i wont ask for another bag for awhile, promise! iâll be real good.â you beg.
maybe it was the way your sad eyes looked at him, or the way your manicured hand squeezed his own, or maybe he just wanted you to stop bugging him, thinking about the blow job heâd ask for laterâ or maybe it was simply cause he had grown soft. but regardless, he still bites his lips and nods. âalright fineâ iâll buy it now so it doesnât sell out, but when it comes youâre gonna give it me to hold it until next week still.â he tells you, filling in his card information on the site.
âr-really? oh thank you!â you squeal, giving him a tight hug. âmhm, better be.â

The morning sunlight poured through the large bay windows of your shared apartment, bathing everything in a soft golden hue. You and Rafe were sitting at the kitchen island, sipping coffee from your favorite mugs, your legs intertwined under the table. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the scent of the sanwiches Rafe had madeâa weekend ritual that had quickly become a cherished tradition.
It had been a few months since your wedding, and you were both still getting used to the idea of being husband and wife. Life was a beautiful blur of shared moments, spontaneous adventures, and an underlying sense of contentment that neither of you had ever experienced before. The demands of your acting careers were ever-present, but you had found a way to balance work with the joys of newlywed life.
Just as you were about to suggest taking a walk in the nearby park, Rafe's phone buzzed on the counter. He reached for it, his brows furrowing slightly as he read the notification.
"Who is it?" you asked, curious.
"It's our publicist," Rafe replied, a hint of surprise in his voice. "Weâve been invited to do a feature for Vogueâthey want us to answer the most asked questions about us on Google."
Your eyes widened in excitement. "Vogue? That's incredible! What kind of questions are they talking about?"
Rafe scrolled through the email. "You know, the usual stuffâhow we met, what it's like working together, and⌠other more personal things."
You leaned closer, your interest piqued. "Personal? Like what?"
He glanced at you with a knowing smile. "Like when weâre planning to start a family."
You laughed, shaking your head. "Of course, everyone wants to know about that. Do you want to do it?"
Rafe set his phone down and looked at you with that warm, affectionate gaze that always made your heart skip a beat. "Only if youâre up for it. It could be fun, and it might give people a little glimpse of what our life is really like."
You nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. "Letâs do it. Itâll be nice to share our story."
Rafe leaned over to kiss your forehead. "Then itâs settled. Weâll show them how itâs done."
The day had finally arrived. The anticipation had built up over the past week, and now you were both standing in the grand lobby of Vogue's headquarters, waiting to be escorted to the set. Rafe had his arm draped casually around your shoulders, a habit that never failed to make you feel grounded, no matter how big the moment was.
The Vogue team was nothing short of welcoming. As you walked through the sleek corridors, you were introduced to various crew members, each of them greeting you with smiles and words of encouragement. Finally, you were led into a spacious studio, where the set was arranged to resemble a chic living roomâplush couches, tasteful decor, and a soft, ambient light that made everything feel warm and intimate.
You and Rafe were guided to a couch in the center of the set, the Vogue logo subtly displayed in the background. Cameras were positioned at different angles, and a few crew members buzzed around, making final adjustments.
The interviewer, a poised woman in her early forties with an air of elegance, approached you with a welcoming smile. "Itâs such a pleasure to have you both here," she said, shaking your hand and then Rafeâs. "Weâve been looking forward to this interview. Iâm sure your fans are eager to hear what you have to say."
You returned her smile, feeling a flutter of nerves mixed with excitement. "Weâre excited too. Itâs an honor to be here."
Rafe nodded in agreement. "Yeah, weâve been looking forward to this. Itâs always nice to get a chance to share a bit more of ourselves."
The interviewer took her seat across from you, a small stack of cards in her lap. She glanced at the cameras, waiting for the signal to start. As the red lights on the cameras flicked on, she turned her attention back to you with a friendly smile.
"Alright, letâs dive right in," she began. "The first question is one that comes up a lot: How did you two meet? And what was your first impression of each other?"
You exchanged a glance with Rafe, and he gave you an encouraging nod, signaling you to start.
You smiled as you began to recount the story. "We met on the set of a film we were both working on. It was a pretty intense project, and we spent a lot of time together during those early days. My first impression of Rafe was that he was incredibly focused and professional. But he also had this playful side that made everyone around him feel comfortable."
Rafe chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I remember thinking you were one of the most talented people Iâd ever worked with. But what really stood out was how kind and genuine you were. You made it easy to connect, and I think thatâs what laid the foundation for our friendship."
The interviewer nodded, clearly charmed by your answers. "Thatâs wonderful. So, how did that friendship evolve into a romantic relationship?"
Rafe took the lead on this one, his tone reflecting the warmth of the memory. "It wasnât something that happened overnight. We became really good friends first, and as we spent more time togetherâboth on and off setâwe started to realize there was something more there. It was a natural progression, and before we knew it, we were dating."
You added with a smile, "We both knew we didnât want to rush anything. We took our time, and I think thatâs why our relationship is so strong now. We built it on a solid foundation of trust and respect."
The interviewer leaned in slightly, clearly captivated by your story. "Thatâs such a healthy approach. Itâs clear that your relationship is built on strong principles. Speaking of which, how do you manage to balance your personal life with your busy careers, especially when youâre both in the spotlight?"
Rafeâs hand found yours on the couch, his thumb brushing lightly over your knuckles as he answered. "Itâs definitely a challenge, but we make it work by prioritizing each other. No matter how busy things get, we always find time to connect. Whether itâs a quick phone call during a break or planning a weekend getaway, we make sure weâre not just coexisting, but actually spending quality time together."
You nodded in agreement. "And weâve also learned to communicate really well. Weâre honest with each other about our needs and boundaries. If one of us is feeling overwhelmed, we talk about it and find a solution together. Itâs all about being a team."
The interviewer smiled, clearly impressed by your approach. "It sounds like youâve both put a lot of thought into how to maintain a healthy relationship in the public eye. Another question thatâs often asked is about your experiences working together on screen. Whatâs it like to transition from your real-life relationship to playing characters on set?"
You couldnât help but laugh at the question, remembering some of the challenges and fun youâd had while filming together. "Itâs definitely interesting! On one hand, thereâs a comfort level that comes from knowing each other so well. But on the other hand, we have to remind ourselves to stay in character and not let our real-life dynamic interfere with the story weâre telling."
Rafe grinned, clearly enjoying the topic. "Yeah, itâs funny because sometimes weâll have a scene where our characters are arguing, and itâs hard not to laugh because weâre not actually mad at each other. But weâre both professionals, so we make it work. Plus, itâs nice to have someone you trust completely when youâre in front of the camera."
The interviewer laughed along with you, clearly enjoying the lighthearted banter. "It sounds like youâve found a good balance between work and play. Now, hereâs a question that I think everyone is dying to know: When are you two planning to start a family?"
A brief silence settled over the room as the question hung in the air. You felt Rafeâs hand tighten slightly around yours, and you met his gaze, a silent understanding passing between you.
Rafe was the first to speak, his voice steady and thoughtful. "Weâve definitely talked about it," he began, turning his attention back to the interviewer. "Starting a family is something we both want, but right now, weâre just enjoying being newlyweds. Weâre in no rushâwe want to take our time and make sure weâre ready for that next step."
You nodded, feeling a sense of calm wash over you. "Itâs a big decision, and we want to make sure weâre in the right place, both emotionally and professionally. Weâre focusing on our relationship and our careers for now, and when the time is right, weâll know."
The interviewer smiled warmly, clearly touched by your sincerity. "Thatâs a very thoughtful approach. Itâs clear that you two are very much in sync and that you have a strong foundation to build on when the time comes."
As the interview drew to a close, the conversation shifted to lighter topicsâfavorite vacation spots, hobbies you enjoyed together, and your shared love of cooking. The mood in the room was relaxed, the conversation flowing easily as you and Rafe shared more glimpses into your life together.
Finally, the interviewer wrapped things up with a closing remark. "Itâs been an absolute pleasure talking with you both today. Your fans are going to love getting this inside look at your relationship. Thank you for being so open and honest."
You smiled, genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to share your story. "Thank you for having us. Itâs been a lot of fun."
Rafe nodded in agreement, his hand still intertwined with yours. "Yeah, weâve really enjoyed it. Itâs nice to be able to show people a bit more of who we are."
As the cameras stopped rolling and the crew began to pack up, you felt a sense of accomplishment. The interview had gone even better than youâd hoped, and you couldnât wait to see the final result. But more than that, you were grateful for the chance to reflect on your journey with Rafeâhow far youâd come as a couple, and how much further you were still excited to go.
After the interview, you and Rafe were led to another part of the studio for a photoshoot. The photographer directed you through a series of poses, capturing the easy intimacy between you. Rafeâs arm was constantly around you, pulling you close, and you found yourself laughing more often than not, his playful remarks easing any lingering nerves.
During a break, as the crew adjusted the lighting, you and Rafe sat together on a loveseat, scrolling through your phones and chatting about the dayâs events.
âThis has been fun,â you said, resting your head on his shoulder. âItâs nice to be able to share a bit of our story with the world.â
Rafe kissed the top of your head. âYeah, itâs been a good day. And Iâm glad we got to do it together. I canât imagine doing this kind of thing with anyone else.â
You smiled, lifting your head to meet his gaze. âNeither can I.â
As you continued to sit there, a comfortable silence settling between you, you couldnât help but reflect on how far you had come as a couple. From co-stars to best friends, and now husband and wifeâit had been a journey full of ups and downs, but it had only strengthened your bond.
That evening, back at home, you and Rafe decided to unwind with a quiet dinner together. The table was set with candles, and the soft hum of jazz played in the background. You talked about everything and nothing, enjoying the simple pleasure of each otherâs company.
After dinner, you curled up on the couch together, scrolling through social media and watching as the first clips of your interview started to surface online. Fans were already commenting on how in love you both seemed, how genuine your connection was.
You paused the video when the question about kids came up again. âDo you think people will ever stop asking us about this?â you asked, half-joking.
Rafe chuckled, pulling you closer. âProbably not. But I donât mind. It means people care about us and our future. And honestly, Iâm excited about it tooâwhen the time comes.â
You looked up at him, your heart swelling with love. âMe too. But for now, Iâm happy with just us.â
He smiled, his eyes reflecting the same warmth you felt. âMe too.â
You snuggled closer, feeling contentment wash over you. The future was a vast, unknown expanse, but with Rafe by your side, you knew it would be filled with love, laughter, and countless more memories to treasure.
As the night wore on, you found yourself drifting off to sleep, wrapped in Rafeâs arms, secure in the knowledge that whatever came nextâwhether it was starting a family or continuing to chase your dreams togetherâyou were ready to face it together.
And that was all that mattered.

Afternoon sun streamed through the windows of your living room, casting a warm glow over the sleek, modern dĂŠcor that you and Rafe had carefully chosen together. The space was quiet, save for the soft hum of the air conditioning and the occasional distant chirp of birds outside. You were alone-well, almost alone-getting ready to film a special âSecret Beautyâ video for Vogue.
Youâd been thrilled when the invitation came through. As an actor, you were used to being in front of the camera, but this was different. This was personal, an opportunity to share a side of yourself that fans rarely got to see. And doing it in the comfort of the home you shared with Rafe made it even more special.
The crew had sent over the necessary equipment the day before, but youâd opted to set everything up yourself. It felt more intimate that way, just you and the camera. Youâd arranged a small vanity area in the corner of the living room, where the light was best. Your collection of beauty products, everything from skincare to makeup was neatly laid out in front of you.
You did a quick check to make sure the camera was positioned correctly, framing the scene just as you wanted. Satisfied, you hit record, flashing a bright smile at the lens.
âHi, everyone! Iâm Y/n Cameron, and welcome to my Vogue Secret Beauty video. Today, Iâm going to be sharing my everyday beauty routine with you all. This is what I do to keep my skin looking fresh and my makeup natural, especially when Iâm off set or just hanging out at home.â
You reached for the first product on your vanity, a gentle cleanser. âSo, I always start with a good cleanse. Itâs really important to make sure your skin is clean before you do anything else. Iâve been using this cleanser for a while now, itâs super gentle and doesnât dry out my skin.â
As you explained, you began applying the cleanser, massaging it into your skin with gentle, circular motions. âI usually spend about a minute doing this, making sure I get every part of my face.â
Once you were satisfied, you reached for a soft towel, patting your face dry. âNext up is toner. This oneâs great because it helps balance my skinâs pH and preps it for the rest of my routine. I just put a few drops on a cotton pad and gently sweep it across my face.â
You demonstrated, moving the cotton pad across your skin with care. âItâs really refreshing and makes my skin feel super smooth.â
You paused, letting the toner absorb, and then reached for your favorite serum. âOkay, so this is one of my must-haves. Itâs a vitamin C serum that brightens my skin and helps with any dark spots. I just take a few drops and press it into my skin, focusing on areas that need a little extra love.â
As you applied the serum, you glanced at the camera, flashing a playful smile. âRafe actually loves this stuff too, even though he wonât admit it.â
You laughed softly at the thought, your mind wandering to your husband. He was out at the moment, running some errands, but you knew heâd be back soon. Knowing Rafe, there was a good chance heâd come back while you were still filming, which could make for an interesting and probably hilarious outtake.
âAlright, now that the serum is on, Iâm going to follow up with my moisturizer,â you continued, reaching for the jar. âThis is super important, especially after applying a serum. It locks in all that goodness and keeps your skin hydrated.â
You scooped out a small amount of the moisturizer and began applying it in gentle upward strokes. âI like to use something lightweight during the day, so it doesnât feel too heavy under makeup.â
You were just finishing up with the moisturizer when you heard the faint sound of the front door opening and closing. Your heart skipped a beat as you realized Rafe must be back. You kept filming, wondering if heâd notice you were in the middle of something.
Just as you were about to reach for your eye cream, you heard his voice from the hallway. âBabe? Iâm back! You wonât believe the traffic out thereââ
He appeared in the doorway, stopping short when he saw the camera. His eyes widened slightly in surprise, and then a slow grin spread across his face.
âAm I interrupting something?â Rafe asked, clearly amused.
You couldnât help but laugh, turning to face him. âJust a little. Iâm filming my Vogue beauty routine.â
Rafeâs grin widened as he walked over, leaning against the doorframe. âOh, so this is the famous âSecret Beautyâ routine? Iâve been dying to know what goes into it.â
âReally?â you teased, raising an eyebrow. âYou already know most of it. Youâve borrowed half these products at some point.â
He chuckled, moving closer to inspect the array of products on the vanity. âI might have. Youâve got good taste, what can I say?â
You shook your head, still smiling. âWell, since youâre here, do you want to help me with the rest of it? The viewers might enjoy a little guest appearance.â
Rafe looked at the camera, then back at you, feigning a thoughtful expression. âHmm, I donât know. Do I have to do anything?â
âNot really,â you said, reaching for your eye cream. âJust look pretty and maybe pass me a couple of things.â
He laughed at that, pulling up a chair next to you. âAlright, I think I can manage that.â
You grinned at the camera, happy to have Rafe by your side. âSo, where were we? Oh, right-eye cream. This is essential, especially on days when I havenât had enough sleep. Just a tiny bit under each eye to help with puffiness and dark circles.â
You dabbed the cream under your eyes as you explained. Rafe watched with interest, occasionally glancing at the camera as if to check if he was doing it right.
âAnd now,â you said, setting the eye cream down, âweâre moving on to the makeup. I like to keep it light and natural, especially when Iâm just hanging out at home.â
Rafe reached for the foundation, holding it up like a game show host presenting a prize. âThis is the one, right?â
You laughed, taking it from him. âYep, thatâs the one. Itâs really lightweight and gives just enough coverage without feeling heavy.â
As you applied the foundation, Rafe watched, leaning in occasionally to make funny faces at the camera behind your back, which you noticed only through the cameraâs reflection. You rolled your eyes, but couldnât help laughing.
âOkay, now for some concealer,â you said, reaching for the small tube. âThis just goes on any spots that need a little extra coverage.â
Rafe nodded sagely, as if he were learning some deep, important secret. âYou know, Iâve got a spot right here,â he said, pointing to a non-existent blemish on his cheek.
You playfully pushed him away. âVery funny.â
âHey, Iâm just trying to learn,â he protested with a grin.
âSure you are,â you said, blending in the concealer. âAlright, now for a bit of bronzer to warm up the face.â
Rafe picked up the bronzer and handed it to you with a flourish. âYour bronzer, madam.â
You accepted it with a mock curtsey. âThank you, kind sir.â
As you dusted the bronzer along your cheekbones and forehead, Rafe looked on, clearly entertained. You could tell he was enjoying himself, which made you even more relaxed and playful.
âNext, some blush for a bit of color,â you said, swirling the brush in the blush compact. âJust a little on the apples of the cheeks.â
Rafe tilted his head, studying your technique. âLooks good. You missed a spot, though.â
You paused, mid-swipe, giving him a look. âReally?â
He leaned in, brushing his thumb lightly across your cheek. âRight⌠here.â
His touch was soft, and you felt your breath hitch slightly, caught off guard by the sudden tenderness. He pulled back with a satisfied smile, leaving you a little flustered, but in a good way.
âThanks,â you managed, giving him a playful shove. âNow, letâs finish up with some mascara and a bit of lip balm.â
Rafe picked up the mascara, twirling it between his fingers before handing it to you. âBe careful with this one. Itâs dangerous.â
You laughed, carefully applying the mascara to your lashes. âIâll try not to poke my eye out.â
Once your makeup was finished, you reached for your lip balm, applying a quick swipe across your lips. âAnd thatâs it! My secret beauty routine are simple, natural, and easy enough that even Rafe could do it.â
Rafe, who had been leaning back in his chair with a smug grin, feigned mock offense. âHey, I might just take that as a challenge. Next time, Iâll show you how itâs really done.â
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued. âOh, really? Iâd love to see that.â
He smirked, leaning closer to the camera as if sharing a secret. âMaybe we should film a âRafe Cameron Beauty Routineâ next. Show everyone how I maintain this rugged charm.â
You couldnât help but laugh at the idea, shaking your head. âIâm sure your fans would love that. You know, maybe we should actually do it. Could be fun.â
Rafeâs eyes lit up at the thought, clearly entertained by the idea. âYouâre on. But you have to be my assistant. I canât possibly do it alone.â
You grinned, nudging him playfully. âDeal. But only if you promise not to turn it into a comedy routine.â
He chuckled, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you closer. âNo promises, but Iâll try to keep it professional.â
The two of you shared a quiet moment, your laughter fading into comfortable silence as you sat together, Rafeâs arm warm around you. The camera was still recording, capturing the easy affection between you, something that came naturally, whether the cameras were on or not.
Finally, you turned back to the camera, giving the viewers a warm smile. âWell, I think thatâs a wrap for today. Thanks so much for joining me on this little behind-the-scenes look at my beauty routine. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.â
Rafe chimed in, his tone playful. âAnd remember, if you want a real beauty routine, stay tuned for the Rafe Cameron edition.â
You laughed, playfully shoving him again before waving at the camera. âThanks for watching, everyone! See you next time!â
With that, you reached over and hit the stop button, ending the recording. The red light on the camera blinked off, signaling the end of the shoot. You leaned back in your chair, feeling a sense of accomplishment and a bit of relief that it had all gone smoothly, well, almost.
Rafe stood up, stretching his arms over his head with a satisfied grin. âNot bad, Mrs. Cameron. Youâre a natural in front of the camera.â
You smiled up at him, feeling a warm flush at the way he called you by your married name. âWell, Iâve had a bit of practice. But I think you might have stolen the show.â
He chuckled, reaching down to pull you up from your chair. âHey, Iâm just here to support my wife. And maybe sneak in a little screen time.â
You rolled your eyes affectionately, letting him pull you into a hug. âYou know, you actually made it a lot more fun. Iâm glad you interrupted.â
Rafeâs smile softened as he looked down at you, his hands resting comfortably on your waist. âYeah? Iâm glad too. Itâs nice to be part of these little moments with you.â
You rested your head against his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat beneath your ear. âMe too. I wouldnât want to do this with anyone else.â
For a few moments, the two of you just stood there, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the world outside your home feeling miles away. It was in these quiet moments that you were reminded of just how lucky you were to have found someone who understood you so completely, who made every moment, whether big or small does feel special.
Rafe finally broke the silence, his voice soft and teasing. âSo, how about we celebrate our first Vogue feature with some takeout and a movie? Maybe we can critique my on-camera skills.â
You laughed, pulling back to look up at him. âThat sounds perfect. But I think you might just be a natural.â
He grinned, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. âOnly because I have the best partner.â
With that, the two of you started to clean up the vanity, chatting and joking as you put away the beauty products. The light in the room was starting to fade as the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a golden glow over everything.
As you worked together, you couldnât help but feel a deep sense of contentment. This was your life now, a life full of love, laughter, and the kind of everyday moments that made everything else worthwhile. And as long as you had Rafe by your side, you knew that every day would be an adventure, filled with more joy than you ever thought possible.

You never meant to see him againânot like this, not when you were still so raw. Yet here you were, standing in the middle of his living room, the air thick with the silence that had settled between you both months ago. Rafeâs eyes were the sameâblue, piercing, but now carrying a weight they hadnât before.
âWhy did you come?â he asked, his voice low, almost afraid of the answer.
You swallowed hard, your heart hammering in your chest as you struggled to find the words. âI donât know,â you finally whispered. âI thought I could just⌠let go. But I canât, Rafe. I canât move on.â
Rafe looked away, his jaw clenching. âWe broke up for a reason,â he said, though his tone lacked conviction. It was as if he was trying to convince himself as much as you. âWe were bad for each other. It had to end.â
âBut it wasnât toxic,â you countered, your voice breaking. âIt wasnât. We just⌠we loved each other too much, too intensely. It scared us. It scared me.â
His eyes met yours again, and for a moment, you saw the same vulnerability, the same ache that mirrored your own. âYou think I donât know that?â he said, his voice softening. âYou think I donât feel the same way?â
âThen why did we do this?â you cried out, tears welling up in your eyes. âWhy did we throw it all away?â
Rafe closed the distance between you in two quick strides, his hands coming to rest on your arms, holding you close but not too close. âBecause we didnât know how to love each other without hurting ourselves,â he said, his voice thick with emotion. âBut that doesnât mean I donât miss you. Every single day, I miss you.â
The tears fell then, hot and fast, as you leaned into his touch, feeling the warmth of his hands against your skin. âI donât know how to stop loving you, Rafe,â you admitted, your voice trembling. âI donât think I ever will.â
He pulled you into his chest, his arms wrapping around you in a desperate embrace. âMaybe weâre not supposed to stop,â he whispered into your hair. âMaybe we just need time to figure out how to do it right.â
You pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, searching for the hope you so desperately needed. âDo you think we can?â
Rafeâs thumb brushed away a tear from your cheek, his gaze softening as he nodded. âI donât know,â he admitted, âbut I want to try. For you, for us.â
The uncertainty lingered, but there was a flicker of hope now, a small light in the darkness that had consumed you both. It wasnât a promise of happily ever after, but it was somethingâsomething you could hold onto.
And as Rafe leaned in, his lips brushing yours in a kiss that felt like both an apology and a beginning, you allowed yourself to believe that maybe, just maybe, love could find a way.

The studio was set up perfectly for what was about to be an intimate and fun GQ Couple Quiz. You and Rafe Cameron, your husband of just a few months, were sitting side by side on a cozy loveseat, ready to test how well you knew each other in front of the cameras. The energy between you two was electric, a combination of love, excitement, and the comfortable ease that came from being newlyweds still in the honeymoon phase.
Rafe leaned closer to you, a playful grin on his lips as he took your hand in his. "Ready to show everyone how well we know each other, Mrs. Cameron?" he asked, the sound of your married name making your heart skip a beat.
You smiled back, loving the way "Mrs. Cameron" sounded. "Ready to win this thing, Mr. Cameron?" you teased, squeezing his hand back.
He chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with affection. "I don't know if thereâs a way to win, but letâs see if we can avoid any awkward âI didnât know thatâ moments."
In front of you was a glass bowl filled with folded slips of paper, each containing a question about your relationship, your likes and dislikes, and your lives together. The rules were simple: you and Rafe would play rock-paper-scissors, and whoever won would draw a question from the bowl. Then youâd both answer it, hoping your answers matched.
You turned to Rafe with a mischievous look. âAlright, rock-paper-scissors to see who picks first. You ready?â
âAlways,â Rafe replied, his competitive nature coming to the surface as he held up his fist.
âOn three,â you said, and together you chanted, âOne, two, three!â
You threw out rock, but Rafeâs paper covered it.
âHa!â Rafe exclaimed, a triumphant grin spreading across his face. âLooks like I get to pick first.â
You rolled your eyes playfully but couldnât help smiling. âAlright, go ahead. Letâs see what the first question is.â
Rafe reached into the bowl and pulled out a slip of paper. He unfolded it slowly, drawing out the suspense before reading it aloud. âWhat is Y/Nâs go-to comfort food?â
You both exchanged a knowing look, and you bit your lip to keep from giggling.
âI know mine,â you said confidently, glancing over at Rafe to see if he was on the same page.
Rafe leaned back, pretending to think hard. âHmm⌠Iâm pretty sure Iâve seen you dive into a tub of chocolate ice cream more times than I can count.â
You laughed, nodding. âThatâs absolutely right. Chocolate ice cream is my weakness.â
He smiled, clearly pleased with himself. âI knew it. I always keep a stash in the freezer for emergencies.â
You gave him a playful shove. âEmergency ice cream is very important.â
Rafe laughed, his hand resting on your knee. âYour turn, Mrs. Cameron. Letâs see if you know me as well as I know you.â
âAlright, challenge accepted,â you said, shaking your hands out as you prepared for another round of rock-paper-scissors.
Once again, you counted to three, and this time you threw out paper while Rafe threw rock.
âYes!â you cheered, pumping your fist in the air. âI won this time.â
Rafe chuckled, pretending to be disappointed. âBeginnerâs luck.â
âSure, sure,â you teased, reaching into the bowl to pick a question. You unfolded the slip of paper and read it aloud. âWhat is Rafeâs favorite way to unwind after a long day on set?â
You already knew the answer to this one, having spent many evenings watching him unwind.
âIâve got mine,â you said, looking at Rafe expectantly.
Rafe grinned, clearly thinking the same thing. âAlright, on three?â
You both counted down together. âOne, two, three!â
âWatching football with a beer,â you said at the same time he did.
You both burst out laughing, knowing you had nailed it.
âYou know me so well,â Rafe said, his voice full of warmth as he reached over to brush a strand of hair behind your ear.
âI should,â you replied, feeling a wave of affection for him. âIâve seen you do it enough times.â
He leaned in and kissed your forehead softly. âYouâre usually right there with me, though, keeping me company. Itâs better that way.â
Your heart melted a little at his words, and you squeezed his hand. âItâs always better when weâre together.â
âAlright,â Rafe said after a moment, glancing at the bowl again. âLetâs keep this going. Weâre on a roll.â
You agreed, ready for the next question. You played rock-paper-scissors once more, and this time, Rafe won again.
He reached into the bowl and pulled out another slip. âWhat is Y/Nâs most embarrassing moment on set?â
You groaned, knowing exactly what he was going to say. âOh no, I think I know what youâre going to pick.â
Rafe smirked, clearly amused. âLet me guess. It involves a certain scene where you had to run⌠and then completely wiped out?â
You covered your face with your hands, laughing despite the embarrassment. âYes! I canât believe youâre bringing that up.â
âIt was adorable,â Rafe said, trying to contain his laughter. âYou were so determined, and then bamâdown you went. But you got up like a champ.â
You peeked at him through your fingers, your face still warm from the memory. âAnd I had to do it in front of the entire crew. Iâm never going to live that down, am I?â
Rafe grinned, shaking his head. âNope, but at least it makes for a good story.â
You rolled your eyes but couldnât help laughing along with him. âYour turn to share an embarrassing moment. Iâm not going down alone.â
Rafe chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck as he thought. âAlright, fair is fair. There was that time I completely blanked on my lines during a big scene⌠right after I bragged to everyone about how I had them down perfectly.â
You laughed, remembering the story. âOh yeah, you were so confident, and thenânothing. Just silence.â
âI wanted to crawl into a hole,â Rafe admitted, shaking his head. âBut hey, it happens to the best of us, right?â
âDefinitely,â you agreed, leaning in to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. âItâs all part of the job.â
Rafe smiled at you, his eyes full of love. âIâm just glad I get to do this job with you.â
Your heart swelled at his words, and you smiled back, feeling incredibly lucky. âMe too, Rafe. Me too.â
For the next few rounds, you and Rafe continued the quiz, answering questions about everything from favorite date nights to pet peeves. The more you answered, the more you realized just how in sync you were. Each time you got an answer right, you celebrated with a high five or a quick kiss, both of you clearly enjoying the experience.
Finally, you drew the last question from the bowl. âOkay, this is the final one. It says⌠âWhatâs one thing Rafe does that always makes Y/N smile?ââ
You glanced at him, your heart melting a little as you thought about the many ways he made you happy.
Rafe looked back at you, his expression softening. âI think I know this one.â
âAlright, letâs hear it,â you said, genuinely curious to see if he would get it right.
Rafe took a deep breath, as if trying to get it just right. âI think itâs when I wake you up with coffee in the morning. You always smile when I bring it to you in bed.â
Your heart melted completely at that. He was absolutely right. Those quiet, early moments when he brought you coffee, still warm and sleepy, were some of your favorites.
âYou got it,â you said, your voice filled with affection. âItâs the little things like that that mean the most.â
Rafe grinned, looking pleased with himself. âGood to know Iâm doing something right.â
âYou do a lot of things right,â you said softly, reaching over to take his hand.
The quiz had been fun, but more than that, it had been a reminder of how well you knew each otherâand how much you loved each other. Even though you were still newlyweds, it was clear that you had something special.
Rafe looked down at your joined hands, then back up at you, his expression tender. âI think we did pretty well on this quiz, donât you?â
You smiled, nodding. âWe did better than I expected. We really know each other.â
Rafe leaned in, his forehead resting against yours. âAnd I canât wait to learn even more about you.â
Your heart swelled with love as you gazed into his eyes, feeling the truth of his words deep in your soul. âMe too, Rafe. Me too.â
The cameras might have been rolling, and the quiz might have been the focus, but in that moment, all you cared about was the man sitting next to youâthe man you got to call your husband.
With one last kiss, the quiz came to an end, but your journey together was just beginning.

As the sun was setting over Venice, casting the city in a warm, golden glow as you and Drew Starkey arrived at the Venice Film Festival. The air buzzed with excitement as stars from around the world gathered to celebrate the premiere of QUEER, a film that had garnered significant attention for its bold storytelling and representation. Tonight, you and Drew were not just co-stars but partners, sharing the spotlight with your two-year-old twin daughters, Ophelia and Olympia.
As you stepped onto the red carpet, the cameras flashed, capturing the perfect image of a beautiful family. Drew looked stunning in a deep navy suit, the black lapels adding a sharp contrast that highlighted his chiseled features. His hair was styled just so, a little tousled, giving him an effortlessly handsome look. You wore a flowing, elegant gown that complemented Drewâs suit perfectly, the fabric shimmering under the lights as you walked hand in hand.
Ophelia and Olympia were dressed in matching white dresses, their blonde curls bouncing with every step as they clung to your hands, their little faces a mixture of awe and curiosity. They had been to events before, but nothing quite like this. The sheer scale of the festival, the grandeur of the venue, and the attention from the media were overwhelming for anyone, let alone two toddlers. Yet, they handled it with the grace of seasoned professionals, waving shyly at the cameras, their innocent smiles melting the hearts of everyone watching.
As you posed for photos, Drew leaned down to whisper in your ear, his breath warm against your skin. âYou look incredible tonight,â he murmured, his voice filled with genuine admiration.
You smiled, feeling a rush of affection for him. âYouâre not so bad yourself,â you teased, glancing at him from beneath your lashes. âBut I think the girls are stealing the show.â
Drew chuckled, his eyes softening as he looked at Ophelia and Olympia. âThey are, arenât they? Just like their momâbeautiful and captivating.â
The interviews followed, and as usual, Drew handled the press with charm and ease. The reporters were eager to hear about your experiences on set, the dynamics of working together as a couple, and of course, how you managed to balance your careers with raising your daughters. Drewâs answers were thoughtful and sincere, emphasizing how much he valued the time spent with his family, both on and off the set.
âTheyâre the reason I do this,â he said, glancing at you and the girls with a smile that made your heart skip a beat. âHaving them here with me tonight makes it all the more special.â
The night continued with more photos, more interviews, and a palpable sense of anticipation for the premiere. But as much as you enjoyed the spotlight, the most important part of the evening was the shared experience with Drew and your daughters. You could see the pride in Drewâs eyes every time he looked at you or the girls, a silent acknowledgment of the journey you had been on together.
After the screening of QUEER, which was met with a standing ovation, the four of you were whisked back to your hotel in a sleek black car. The night air was cool and refreshing, a welcome contrast to the heat of the cameras and the lights of the red carpet. Ophelia and Olympia, who had been little stars all evening, were starting to show signs of fatigue. Their little eyes drooped, and they leaned heavily against you and Drew, their tiny bodies growing limp with exhaustion.
Back at the hotel, you and Drew worked together to get the girls ready for bed. The suite was spacious and luxurious, with a separate bedroom for the twins. After helping them out of their dresses and into their pajamas, you read them a story, your voice soft and soothing as they snuggled into their beds. Drew sat beside you, one arm draped around your shoulders, his other hand gently stroking Olympiaâs hair as her eyes slowly closed.
Ophelia was the first to fall asleep, her hand clutching her favorite stuffed bunny. Olympia held out a little longer, her eyes fluttering open and closed until finally, she gave in to sleep. You and Drew sat there for a moment longer, watching your daughtersâ peaceful faces, their soft breathing filling the room with a sense of calm.
Finally, you and Drew quietly left the room, closing the door behind you with a gentle click. The suite was silent, the only sounds the soft hum of the air conditioning and the faint noise of the city outside. You leaned against the door, your eyes meeting Drewâs across the room.
âThey were amazing tonight,â you whispered, a smile tugging at your lips.
Drew walked over to you, his gaze intense as he cupped your face in his hands. âThey take after their mother,â he said softly, his thumb brushing your cheek. âYou were incredible too. Iâm so proud of you.â
You felt a warm blush spread across your cheeks at his words. âThank you,â you murmured, leaning into his touch. âI couldnât have done it without you.â
Drewâs eyes darkened with desire as he leaned in, his lips hovering just above yours. âWe finally have some time to ourselves,â he whispered, his voice low and husky. âWhat do you want to do?â
A shiver of anticipation ran down your spine at the implication in his tone. You slid your hands up his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin through the fabric of his shirt. âI can think of a few things,â you replied, your voice breathless as you closed the distance between you, capturing his lips in a passionate kiss.
Drew responded immediately, his arms wrapping around you as he deepened the kiss, his tongue teasing yours as he pressed you against the door. The world outside faded away, leaving only the two of you and the intense need that was building between you. His hands roamed your body, expertly undoing the zipper of your dress and letting it fall to the floor in a soft rustle of fabric.
You broke the kiss just long enough to help him out of his jacket and shirt, your fingers trembling slightly as you undid the buttons. Drewâs hands found your waist, pulling you close as he kissed you again, more urgently this time, his need for you growing with every passing second.
He backed you towards the bed, his hands never leaving your body as he guided you onto the soft mattress. The cool sheets contrasted with the heat of his skin as he hovered above you, his gaze raking over your body with a look of pure adoration.
âYouâre so beautiful,â Drew whispered, his voice thick with emotion as he kissed a trail down your neck, his lips leaving a burning path on your skin. âI canât get enough of you.â
You arched into his touch, your fingers threading through his hair as he continued his descent, his mouth hot against your collarbone. âDrew...â you moaned softly, your voice trembling with need as you felt him reach for the clasp of your bra, expertly undoing it and tossing it aside.
He paused for a moment, his eyes meeting yours as he gently cupped your breasts, his thumbs brushing over your hardened nipples. The sensation sent a jolt of pleasure straight through you, making you gasp. Drew smiled at your reaction, clearly pleased with himself as he dipped his head to take one of your nipples into his mouth, his tongue swirling around the sensitive bud.
Your back arched off the bed at the sensation, a moan escaping your lips as you clung to him, your fingers digging into his shoulders. The pleasure was almost overwhelming, every nerve in your body on high alert as Drew lavished attention on your breasts, his hands and mouth working in perfect harmony to drive you wild.
After what felt like an eternity of blissful torment, Drew continued his journey downward, his lips trailing kisses down your stomach, his hands guiding your hips as he slowly pulled your panties down, leaving you completely exposed to him. He paused for a moment, his eyes darkening with lust as he took in the sight of you, his breath coming in short, ragged gasps.
âGod, youâre perfect,â he murmured, his voice filled with awe as he gently spread your legs, positioning himself between them.
You bit your lip, anticipation building as you felt the heat of his breath against your most sensitive area. âDrew, please...â you whimpered, your voice trembling with need.
He didnât make you wait any longer. With a low growl of desire, he dipped his head, his tongue flicking out to taste you. The sensation was electric, sending a jolt of pleasure straight through you, your hips bucking involuntarily as you moaned his name. Drewâs hands gripped your thighs, holding you in place as he continued to pleasure you, his tongue and lips working together to drive you closer and closer to the edge.
You clung to the sheets, your body trembling with the intensity of the sensations as Drew brought you to the brink of ecstasy. Just when you thought you couldnât take it any longer, he pulled back slightly, his eyes meeting yours as he inserted a finger inside you, the sensation of his long, skilled fingers pushing you over the edge.
You cried out, your body shaking with the force of your orgasm as Drew continued to work you through it, his fingers and mouth never stopping until you were completely spent, your body going limp with exhaustion.
Drew climbed back up your body, his lips capturing yours in a heated kiss as he positioned himself at your entrance. You were still trembling from the aftershocks of your orgasm, but the feel of him so close, so ready, reignited the fire inside you.
You wrapped your legs around Drewâs waist, pulling him closer as he hovered above you, his breath warm and ragged against your lips. His eyes locked onto yours, a mixture of love, desire, and admiration swirling within them. He held himself there, just at your entrance, teasing you with the promise of what was to come.
âAre you ready?â he whispered, his voice rough with emotion.
You nodded, unable to find the words as anticipation coursed through your veins. The look in his eyes was enough to send another shiver of pleasure down your spine. You could feel him, hot and hard, pressing against you, and the need to have him inside you was almost unbearable.
âPlease,â you breathed, your voice trembling with need. âI need you, Drew.â
That was all the encouragement he needed. With a slow, deliberate movement, Drew pushed forward, filling you inch by inch. The sensation was exquisite, a perfect blend of pleasure and pressure as he stretched you, your bodies fitting together like they were made for each other. You both moaned as he entered you fully, the feeling of him deep inside you almost overwhelming.
Drew paused, his forehead resting against yours as he took a moment to savor the sensation, his breath coming in short, ragged bursts. âYou feel so good,â he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
âSo do you,â you replied breathlessly, your hands gripping his shoulders as you adjusted to the feel of him inside you. The connection between you was palpable, an unspoken bond that had only deepened over time. Every touch, every movement felt like a promise, a testament to the love you shared.
Drew started to move, slow and steady at first, his thrusts deep and measured. Each movement sent ripples of pleasure through your body, building a delicious tension that made you gasp and cling to him even tighter. His hands roamed your body, one settling on your hip to guide your movements, the other brushing the hair away from your face as he kissed you deeply.
The kiss was passionate, filled with the kind of raw, unfiltered emotion that only came from years of love and trust. You could feel the intensity of his feelings in the way he kissed you, in the way he held you close as if you were the most precious thing in the world. It was more than just physical; it was a connection of souls, a merging of hearts.
As Drewâs thrusts became more urgent, the pace quickened, and you could feel yourself teetering on the edge of another orgasm. He seemed to sense it too, his movements becoming more purposeful, his hand slipping between your bodies to find that sensitive bundle of nerves that he knew would push you over the edge.
When he touched you there, the sensation was electric, your body responding instantly as pleasure exploded within you. You cried out his name in silece, your back arching off the bed as the orgasm ripped through you, your body trembling with the force of it. Drew didnât stop, his movements relentless as he continued to drive into you, prolonging your pleasure until you were a quivering mess beneath him.
Finally, with a few more powerful thrusts, Drew followed you over the edge, his own release coming with a guttural groan as he buried himself deep inside you. You could feel the warmth of his release, the pulsing of his body against yours as he collapsed on top of you, his chest heaving with exertion.
For a moment, the two of you lay there, wrapped in each otherâs arms, both of you trying to catch your breath as the aftershocks of pleasure continued to ripple through your bodies. The room was filled with the sounds of your breathing, mingling together in the stillness of the night.
Drew finally lifted his head to look at you, his eyes soft and filled with love. He reached up to gently brush a strand of hair from your face, his thumb grazing your cheek as he smiled down at you. âYouâre amazing,â he whispered, his voice hoarse but filled with sincerity.
You smiled back at him, your heart swelling with love. âI love you, Drewâ you replied, reaching up to cup his face in your hands. âI love you, Drew.â
âI love you too,â he whispered back, leaning down to press a tender kiss to your lips. It was a kiss filled with all the love and affection he couldnât put into words, a promise that he would always be there for you, no matter what.
He rolled over, pulling you with him so that you were lying on his chest, your legs still entwined. You could feel the steady beat of his heart beneath your ear, a comforting rhythm that lulled you into a state of contentment. His arms wrapped around you, holding you close as if he never wanted to let you go.
The two of you lay there in silence for a while, simply enjoying the closeness, the feel of each otherâs bodies pressed together. The world outside might have been filled with the glitz and glamour of the festival, but in that moment, it was just the two of you, wrapped in each otherâs love.
Eventually, Drew shifted slightly, his hand running up and down your back in a soothing motion. âWe should probably get some sleep,â he murmured, though there was a note of reluctance in his voice. âThe girls will be up early.â
You chuckled softly, knowing he was right. As much as you wanted to stay in this moment forever, the responsibilities of parenthood would call soon enough. âYeah,â you agreed, though you made no move to get up just yet.
Drew smiled, tightening his hold on you. âWeâll have plenty of nights like this,â he promised, his voice filled with certainty. âPlenty of moments where itâs just you and me.â
You nodded, feeling a warm sense of contentment settle over you. âIâm looking forward to it,â you whispered, pressing a kiss to his chest before finally, reluctantly, rolling off of him.
You both moved slowly, the exhaustion from the day and the intensity of your lovemaking catching up with you. Drew helped you pull the covers up over your bodies, his arm wrapping around you once more as you settled against his side. The bed was warm and comfortable, and you could feel yourself drifting off almost immediately, the events of the day a pleasant blur in your mind.
As you closed your eyes, you felt Drew press a soft kiss to the top of your head. âGoodnight, my love,â he whispered, his voice the last thing you heard before sleep claimed you.
âGoodnight,â you murmured back, a smile on your lips as you finally surrendered to the peaceful darkness.
And with that, you both fell asleep, wrapped in each otherâs arms.

You took a slow drag from your cigarette, savoring the familiar taste. The rain was a steady drizzle, tapping gently against the surface of the pool and mixing with the dreamy melody of âDOWNTOWNâ playing from the old radio.
âI donât know,â you replied, your voice calm and unhurried. âBut I kind of like it⌠the rain, I mean.â
Drew turned his head to look at you, his lips curving into a lazy smile. âYou like everything, donât you? The rain, the quiet, the musicâŚâ He let his voice trail off, his tone filled with a kind of admiration.
You shrugged lightly, a smile tugging at the corners of your mouth as you exhaled the smoke. âWhatâs not to like? Itâs peaceful. Feels like the world slows down, like weâre the only ones here.â
âYeah,â Drew murmured, his gaze lingering on you. He swam closer, resting his arms on the poolâs edge beside where you sat. âAnd you⌠you look like you belong in a painting, you know that?â
You felt a flush rise to your cheeks, though you played it off with a small laugh. âYouâre always saying things like that. Iâm just sitting here, Drew.â
He shook his head, droplets of water trickling down his face. âNo, itâs more than that. The way the rain falls around you, the way you sit there with your red lips and your nightgownâŚâ He paused, as if searching for the right words. âItâs like youâre part of this place, part of the moment. I canât look away.â
His sincerity caught you off guard, making your heart beat a little faster. You glanced away, focusing on the faint glow of your cigarette as it burned down. âYou always know how to make something simple sound like poetry.â
âMaybe thatâs because you make the simple things feel special,â Drew replied quietly, his eyes never leaving yours.
You looked at him then, really looked at him, with the rain running down his face and that earnest expression in his eyes. There was something about the way he was watching you, something deeper than just the words he was saying. You could feel the weight of it, the unspoken connection between you, humming softly like the music in the background.
You leaned down a little closer, a smirk on your lips. âYouâre not just trying to distract me from your bad swimming, are you?â
Drew laughed, the sound rich and warm, cutting through the quiet. âHey, Iâm not that bad! But if it means I get to hear you laugh, maybe Iâll take the blame.â
You shook your head, grinning as you flicked the ash from your cigarette. âYouâre impossible, you know that?â
âMaybe,â he conceded, still smiling as he propped his chin on his arms, staring up at you with that same, soft look. âBut at least Iâm good company, right?â
You felt your chest tighten slightly, a warmth spreading through you despite the coolness of the rain. âThe best,â you admitted softly, feeling the truth of it settle between you.
The song on the radio faded out, the last notes lingering in the air, and you both sat there in comfortable silence, the rain and the quiet stretching out the moment.
Drew reached out and gently took your hand in his, the touch warm and grounding, and you knew that in this quiet corner of the world, with the rain falling around you and the echoes of music in the air, youâd found something rare and beautiful.

A soft and gentle Hawaiian breeze filtered through the open windows of the Airbnb, carrying with it the salty scent of the ocean and the distant sound of waves crashing onto the shore. The golden sunlight filtered into the bathroom where you stood, brushing the last bit of blush on your cheeks as you prepared for the day. It was only the second morning of your vacation in Hawaii, but already you could feel a deep sense of peace and contentment.
Through the thin walls, you could hear the soft murmur of conversation from the living room, where Drew was keeping your son, Rustyn, entertained. At only two years old, Rustyn had a way of commanding attention wherever he went. His bright, inquisitive mind and sweet nature often left you in awe, as he continuously found ways to make everyone around him feel special. Whether it was a loving compliment or a random fun fact he had picked up from one of his many TV shows, Rustyn always knew how to leave an impression.
Just as you were finishing up your makeup, you heard a light knock on the bathroom door, and soon a small voice called out.
âMommy, can I come in?â
The door creaked open, revealing Rustyn standing in the doorway, his big blue eyes peeking up at you with admiration. He walked inside, his little feet padding across the tiled floor, his excitement for the day evident in the way he carried himself.
âMommy, you look beautiful today,â Rustyn said, his tiny voice full of awe, as if he couldnât believe how lucky he was to have such a pretty mom.
You felt your heart swell with love, as it always did when Rustyn offered these sweet compliments. Leaning down, you scooped him up into your arms and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
âThank you, sweetheart,â you said, smiling into his soft curls. âYouâre so sweet.â
Just then, Drew appeared at the doorway with a grin on his face. He leaned against the doorframe casually, his eyes soft as he looked at the two of you. âRustynâs right, you know. Mommy always looks pretty.â
You smiled at Drew, warmth flooding your chest at the sight of him standing there, his playful charm radiating through his teasing words. Even after all this time, Drew still had a way of making you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
âOh, stop it, you two,â you said with a laugh, setting Rustyn down as you finished gathering your things.
âYouâre so special to me, Mommy,â Rustyn added sweetly, wrapping his arms around your neck with a big hug as if to emphasize just how much he loved you.
From the living room, you could hear Todd and Jodiâs soft âawwâ as they watched Rustynâs display of affection. His grandparents were always so proud of how kind-hearted and loving he was. Every little word Rustyn said seemed to have the power to melt hearts. You smiled to yourself, grateful for the love that surrounded your family.
âOkay, okay,â you said with a grin, ruffling Rustynâs hair. âLetâs go get some breakfast. Are you ready for a fun day, baby?â
Rustyn nodded enthusiastically, his little face lighting up. âYeah, Mommy! I wanna go see fishy!â
Drew chuckled as he grabbed the car keys. âAlright, letâs get going, then.â
As you walked out of the Airbnb, the sun kissed your skin, and the smell of the ocean surrounded you. You couldnât help but feel incredibly lucky to be spending this time with your little family and Drewâs parents, siblings. The connection between all of you felt so strong, and you knew Rustyn was growing up surrounded by so much love from everyone around him.
Once everyone had gathered their things, Drew packed up the rental car, making sure Rustyn was safely strapped into his car seat before helping you into the front passenger seat. Todd and Jodi settled into the back, chatting softly about the day ahead. The air was filled with the warmth of a family vacationâeasy-going, full of laughter, and stress-free.
Drew started the car, glancing over at you with a soft smile before shifting his attention to the road. âSo, what are we thinking for breakfast? Pancakes for Rustyn, or something more adventurous?â
You laughed. âRustyn could eat pancakes every day if we let him.â
From the back seat, Todd chuckled, âThe kid has good taste.â
As the car rolled down the scenic coastal road, the windows open to let the cool breeze in, Rustyn began his usual habit of filling the car with his boundless curiosity.
âMommy, did you know that dolphins are really smart?â he asked from his car seat, his little legs kicking back and forth as he peered out the window.
You turned slightly in your seat, smiling at him. âOh yeah? How smart are they?â
Rustynâs face scrunched up in thought as if he was recalling one of the many nature shows he loved to watch. âThey can talk to each other with squeaks!â
âThatâs right, baby,â you said, nodding in encouragement. âDolphins are very smart.â
Drew glanced in the rearview mirror, clearly amused. âWhat else do you know about dolphins, Rusty?â
Rustyn continued excitedly. âAnd turtles! Turtles can live for a really, really long timeâlike, a hundred years!â
Todd, sitting in the back, grinned and leaned forward slightly. âIs that so, Rusty? Youâre a walking encyclopedia, arenât you?â
Rustyn beamed at the praise, clearly proud of himself. âI know lots of things!â
Jodi chimed in with a warm smile. âYou sure do, sweet boy. Maybe youâll be a marine biologist one day.â
Rustyn seemed to like the sound of that. âWhatâs that?â
âItâs someone who studies ocean animals, like dolphins and turtles,â you explained, watching as his eyes lit up with interest.
âYeah! I wanna be a marine⌠biologist!â Rustyn said, his face scrunching up as he tried to say the word correctly.
The entire car burst into laughter, everyone already so charmed by Rustynâs enthusiasm for life. Drew reached and squeezed your hand, a gesture of shared pride in your little boy.
âHeâs going to do great things,â Drew said softly, his voice filled with love as he looked back at Rustyn, who was now babbling happily about his future ocean adventures.
When you arrived at the breakfast spotâa quaint beachside cafe with a view of the oceanâyou saw that Drewâs siblings, Logan, Brooke, and McKayla, were already there, waiting for you all at a large outdoor table. The sea breeze was refreshing, and the early morning sunlight cast a warm, golden glow over everything.
Brooke was the first to spot you, waving you all over with a grin. âFinally! We thought you guys were never going to show up.â
âSorry, Rustyn had to give us a marine biology lesson on the way here,â Drew said with a chuckle as he approached the table.
Logan laughed, reaching down to high-five Rustyn, who was already eager to share more of his newfound knowledge. âRusty, my man! What did you teach them this time?â
âTurtles can live for a hundred years!â Rustyn declared proudly, his chest puffing out with pride.
McKayla smiled fondly at her nephew, reaching over to ruffle his hair. âWell, look at you, little genius.â
The conversation flowed easily as everyone sat down, catching up with each other and enjoying the relaxed vibe of the island. Drewâs family was always warm and welcoming, and it felt so natural to be surrounded by them. Rustyn, ever the center of attention, charmed everyone with his sweet compliments and random facts, making sure to tell each person at the table how much he loved them.
At one point, as you waited for the food to arrive, a couple sitting nearby noticed Drew. They exchanged nervous glances before hesitantly approaching the table.
âHi, sorry to interrupt,â the woman said, clearly excited but trying to be respectful. âWeâre big fans of your work, Drew. Could we get a picture?â
Drew smiled kindly, ever gracious with his fans. âOf course. No problem.â
As he stood up to take the picture with the couple, Rustyn watched intently from his seat, his little face full of curiosity. As soon as Drew finished and the couple thanked him, Rustyn piped up loudly, his voice full of pride.
âIâm a big fan of my Dada too!â
Everyone, including the couple, burst out laughing at Rustynâs unexpected but adorable declaration. Drewâs face flushed slightly as he reached down to ruffle Rustynâs hair, clearly touched by his sonâs words.
âYouâre too much, bud,â Drew said with a smile, leaning down to kiss the top of Rustynâs head.
The rest of breakfast was filled with more laughter, light teasing, and stories of the adventures everyone had planned for the day. Rustyn, always the star of the show, kept everyone entertained with his endless questions and sweet declarations of love for his family.
After breakfast, you all decided to spend the rest of the day at the beach. The sun was shining brightly, and the water looked impossibly inviting. Rustyn could hardly contain his excitement as you, Drew, and his siblings set up camp with a large umbrella and a pile of beach towels.
Rustyn tugged at your hand, his little face filled with anticipation. âMommy, can we go swimming now?â
You smiled, squeezing his hand. âOf course, sweetie. Letâs go!â
Drew grinned as he helped Rustyn into his floaties before scooping him up and carrying him toward the water. âLetâs see what youâve got, buddy.â
As soon as the cool ocean water lapped at your feet, Rustyn let out an excited squeal, splashing around with glee. Drew, ever the playful dad, lifted him high into the air before gently dunking him into the water, making Rustyn giggle uncontrollably.
After a while of swimming, you decided to take a break and build a sandcastle with Rustyn. The two of you sat side by side in the soft sand, gathering buckets of wet sand while Drew stayed in the water with Logan and McKayla. You helped Rustyn carefully pack the sand into a tower, guiding his small hands to shape the castle.
âMommy, look! I found a shell!â Rustyn exclaimed, holding up a small white seashell he had discovered buried in the sand.
âThatâs perfect, Rusty! We can put it right here,â you said, showing him where to place it on the sandcastle.
Drew, having spotted the two of you from the water, made his way back to the shore and dropped down beside you. âHowâs the sandcastle coming along?â
Rustyn looked up at him with a big grin. âGood, Dada! We found a shell for it.â
Drew nodded appreciatively, leaning in to examine the shell. âWow, you and Mommy are making quite the masterpiece.â
You chuckled, brushing some sand off your hands as you admired the nearly finished sandcastle. âHeâs a natural builder.â
After a few more minutes of playing in the sand, you leaned in close to Rustyn and whispered, âHey, baby, can Mommy have a kiss?â
Rustyn nodded, but instead of leaning in for a kiss himself, he had a different idea. With a mischievous grin, he grabbed both your face and Drewâs, pulling you two together with surprising force. He giggled, clearly wanting his parents to kiss each other.
Drew let out a soft laugh, his blue eyes twinkling with affection as he looked at you. âLooks like someoneâs playing matchmaker,â he said with a teasing grin.
You smiled back, your heart swelling with love as you leaned in to kiss Drew. It was a soft, tender kiss, made even sweeter by the fact that Rustyn had initiated it. When you pulled away, Drew still had that fond, loving look in his eyes.
âYouâve got good ideas, Rusty,â Drew said, ruffling his sonâs hair.
Rustyn giggled happily. âYouâre supposed to kiss! It makes you happy!â
Drew chuckled, pulling you both in for a group hug. âYeah, bud, it really does.â
As the day wound down, the entire family gathered under the umbrella, lounging on towels and sipping on cold drinks. Brooke and McKayla had picked up fresh coconuts from a nearby vendor, passing them around as everyone settled in to enjoy the sunset.
Logan and Todd were still determined to outdo each other in their impromptu sandcastle competition, while Jodi sat back, laughing at their antics.
Rustyn, now thoroughly exhausted from the dayâs activities, snuggled into your lap, his little eyes drooping as he fought off sleep. You brushed a hand through his soft hair, smiling down at him as he yawned.
Drew, sitting beside you, wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close as the two of you watched the sun slowly sink below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange.
âThis was a perfect day,â you whispered, leaning your head on Drewâs shoulder.
Drew smiled, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head. âYeah, it really was.â
Rustyn, half-asleep now heâs laying on your chest, murmured softly. âLove you, Mommy. Love you, Dada.â
Your heart melted at his words, and you looked down at him with a smile, your love for him overflowing. âWe love you too, baby,â you whispered back, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
As the last rays of sunlight disappeared over the horizon, you felt a deep sense of contentment wash over you. The love you felt for Drew, for Rustyn, and for the family surrounding you, was all you needed. This was your perfect momentâa moment filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of your little family.

The summers were always the best part of your childhood. You and Drew Starkey had been practically inseparable since you were six years old, running through the wide backyard of the Starkey home, laughing until your stomach hurt and your lungs ached from the chase. Your families were closeâso close that your mothers, Jodi and your mom, would joke that you and Drew were "destined for each other."
"Y/N and Joseph," Jodi would say with a smile as she watched the two of you playing in the grass. "Theyâre going to get married someday. Iâve always known."
Your mother would laugh, glancing over at you, sweaty and carefree as you chased Drew through the sprinklers. "Iâd be happy with that, Jodi," sheâd reply, "It would be perfect."
You didnât think much of it then. To you, Drew was just Drewâyour best friend, the boy who pulled you out of the creek when you fell in one summer and got scraped knees trying to rescue you. You couldnât imagine life without him, but back then, you were still young. The idea of growing up and getting married seemed like something distant, almost laughable.
One summer, when you were about six, you had a moment that defined your bond. The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden light over the Starkey backyard. You and Drew were sprawled on the grass after an afternoon of playing tag, breathing hard but smiling at each other.
âJoseph,â you began, turning your head toward him as you lay beside him, âcan I call you something else? Like a nickname?â
Drew raised an eyebrow and rolled onto his side, propping his head up on his hand. âLike what?â
âI donât know... Drew? It sounds cooler.â
He blinked, then laughed, as though the idea of you giving him a special name was the best thing he had heard all day. âSure,â he said, grinning. âCall me Drew.â
From that day on, the name stuck. Only you called him that, while the rest of the world called him Joseph. It was your little secret, a bond that made you feel like you shared something special. And you did.
Every summer, you counted down the days until you could visit the Starkey family. It was traditionâlong, lazy afternoons spent playing outside, followed by evenings watching the stars come out. The best part, though, was the mornings.
Drew knew how much you loved watching the sunrise. Each summer, no matter how early it was, he would wake up with you before dawn, just so the two of you could sit on the hill behind the house and watch the sky change from dark blue to shades of pink, orange, and gold.
âThink weâll always do this?â you had asked one morning, your knees pulled to your chest as the horizon turned golden.
Drew looked at you, the early morning light reflecting in his eyes. âYeah,â he had said simply. âWeâll always be friends.â
At that moment, as the sun bathed you both in warmth, you believed him with all your heart.
When you were twelve, your family made the big move to Asheville, North Carolina, to be closer to the Starkeys. At first, it was a dream come trueâyouâd see Drew year-round now, not just in the summers. But as exciting as the move was, it came with its own challenges. A new school, new classmates, and a feeling of unfamiliarity that settled deep in your bones.
You werenât exactly the social butterfly Drew was. He thrived in new environments, easily making friends with his magnetic personality. He was taller than most boys his age, athletic, and undeniably charming. He played basketball, acted in the school plays, and it seemed like everyone was drawn to him. You, on the other hand, were quieter, more reserved. Drew was your anchor, the one person who made you feel like you belonged.
Despite being in different classes, Drew always made time for you. Heâd wait for you after school, leaning against the fence near the basketball courts, a crooked smile on his face as he waved you over.
âCome on, slowpoke,â heâd tease. âIâve got snacks for us before practice.â
It became a routineâhim waiting for you, you showing up at his basketball practices with snacks or a drink to keep him going. Sometimes, youâd sit on the bleachers, watching him run drills, marveling at how easily he seemed to fit into this new world. You were happy for him, of course, but there was always a small, nagging feeling inside you, something that whispered that you were being left behind.
You brushed it off. After all, Drew was still Drewâyour best friend, the boy who stood up for you when some kids at school made fun of your appearance. Youâd never forget the day one of Drewâs classmates, a girl from the drama club, sneered at you during lunch.
âHow can someone like you even be friends with Joseph Starkey?â she had said, her voice dripping with disdain.
You had felt a hot flush of embarrassment creep up your neck, your fists clenching at your sides. But before you could respond, Drew had appeared out of nowhere, stepping in front of you protectively.
âWhat did you just say?â Drewâs voice was low, dangerous, his eyes narrowing at the girl.
The girl faltered, shrinking under his glare. âIâ I didnât meanââ
âYou donât get to talk to her like that,â Drew snapped, his voice ice-cold. âIf I ever hear you say something like that again, youâll regret it.â
The girl had stammered an apology before scurrying away, and Drew had turned to you with a reassuring smile, as if nothing had happened.
âDonât listen to people like her,â he had said softly, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. âYouâre worth so much more than their words.â
From that day on, you never doubted that Drew had your back. He was your protector, your confidant, the one person who made you feel safe in a world that often felt overwhelming.
When Drew turned seventeen, he became more serious about his future. You spent countless nights together, talking about his dreams, about how he wanted to pursue acting full-time after high school. It was clear to you that he had the passion, the drive, and the talent to make it big.
The day Drew landed his first acting role was a day youâd never forget. You were sitting in your living room when Drew burst through the front door, grinning from ear to ear.
âY/N! I got the part!â he shouted, holding up a script in triumph. âI actually got the part!â
Your heart soared with pride as you jumped up from the couch, wrapping him in a tight hug. âDrew, thatâs amazing! I knew youâd do it!â
The two of you celebrated that night, just the two of you. Drew asked you to help him practice his lines, and for hours, you sat on the floor of your living room, reading through the script with him. He was nervous, pacing back and forth as he recited his lines, but you were there, steady and patient, helping him work through every scene.
Before his first day on set, Drew had come to you, his usual confidence replaced with anxiety. âWhat if I mess up?â he had asked, his voice wavering. âWhat if Iâm not good enough?â
You had smiled softly, reaching into your bag and pulling out a small, crocheted keychainâa little dog with floppy ears that you had made yourself. âHere,â you said, handing it to him. âConsider this your good luck charm. Keep it with you, and I promise youâll be fine.â
Drew had chuckled, pocketing the keychain with a fond smile. âThanks, sunshine. Iâll keep it with me, always.â
That first role was just the beginning. After high school, Drew went off to college to study acting, and though the distance was hard, you made sure to keep in touch. Late-night phone calls, long text conversationsâDrew made sure you were still part of his life, even from miles away.
And when he landed his breakout role on the Netflix series Outer Banks, you were the first person he called.
âY/N! Guess what?â Drewâs voice had crackled through the phone, filled with excitement. âI got a role on a Netflix show! Can you believe it?â
Your heart had swelled with pride, even as a small, selfish part of you wondered what this meant for your friendship. âDrew, thatâs incredible! Iâm so proud of you!â
You meant every word, but as Drewâs career took off, the distance between you began to growânot just physically, but emotionally. His life was changing, and you werenât sure if you still had a place in it.
The first time Drew mentioned Odessa Aâzion, you hadnât thought much of it. She was a fellow actor on Outer Banks, and Drew had talked about how they had become fast friends on set. But as time passed, it became clear that Odessa was more than just a friend to Drewâshe was someone important to him.
At first, you tried to brush off the feeling of unease that settled in your chest every time Drew talked about her. After all, he was bound to make new friends in the industry. But it became harder to ignore the way he talked about Odessaâthe way his eyes lit up when he mentioned her name, the way she seemed to occupy so much of his attention.
The first time you met Odessa was at Drewâs birthday party. He had flown back to North Carolina to celebrate with friends and family, and you were excited to see him in person after months of only talking through texts and phone calls.
When you arrived at the restaurant, your heart raced with anticipation. It had been so long since youâd seen Drew, and part of you hoped that things would feel just like they used to. But as soon as you walked in, you saw him sitting with Odessa.
They were deep in conversation, laughing together as if they were the only two people in the room. You felt a pang of jealousy, something you hadnât expected. Drew had always been your person, your best friend. But now, watching him with Odessa, it felt like he was slipping away.
When Drew finally noticed you, his face lit up with a smile. âY/N!â he called out, standing up to wrap you in a tight hug. âIâm so glad youâre here!â
You hugged him back, but something felt off. The easy familiarity that had always existed between you was strained, and you couldnât shake the feeling that something had changed.
Odessa greeted you with a polite smile, introducing herself, but the way she looked at Drewâlike he was the center of her universeâonly made the knot in your stomach tighten.
The rest of the night passed in a blur. Drew introduced you to his castmates, and while everyone was friendly, you couldnât help but feel like an outsider. Drew and Odessa were inseparable, their laughter filling the room as they shared inside jokes you werenât part of.
Later that night, as the party began to wind down, Drew pulled you aside. âI need to take Odessa home,â he explained, his voice apologetic. âShe had a little too much to drink.â
You forced a smile, even as your heart sank. âYeah, of course. Go ahead.â
As you watched them leave together, something inside you shifted. You couldnât ignore it anymoreâthe distance between you and Drew wasnât just physical. It was emotional. And it hurt more than you were willing to admit.
Months passed, and while you and Drew still kept in touch, things werenât the same. The texts were shorter, the phone calls less frequent, and every time you tried to bring up something personal, something about you, the conversation somehow always shifted back to Odessa or Drewâs new life in Los Angeles. It wasnât that you didnât care about his successâyou were proud of himâbut it hurt to feel like an afterthought, someone on the periphery of his increasingly glamorous life.
When Drew invited you to his familyâs annual BBQ, you hesitated. Part of you wanted to turn down the invitation, not wanting to face him and Odessa again. But the other part of youâthe part that still longed for the closeness you once sharedâcouldnât say no. This was the Starkey house, the place that had always felt like a second home to you, the place where your friendship with Drew had blossomed.
The afternoon sun was just beginning to set as you arrived at the familiar Starkey home. The front porch was adorned with string lights, and the smell of grilled burgers wafted through the air, mixing with the sound of laughter from the backyard. It shouldâve felt like a homecoming, but instead, all you felt was a growing sense of unease.
As you stepped into the backyard, the knot in your stomach tightened. Drew was there, sitting beside Odessa, his arm casually draped along the back of her chair. They were laughing, their heads close together as if they were sharing some private joke. For a moment, it was like watching strangersâpeople you knew but didnât recognize anymore.
Before you could retreat, McKayla spotted you. âY/N!â she called out, running over with a grin. Her hug was warm, and it reminded you of why you had come. The Starkeys were still like family, even if your relationship with Drew had changed.
âI missed you so much!â McKayla said, pulling back to look at you with a beaming smile. âItâs been forever.â
âI missed you too,â you replied, your smile softening as you hugged her again. If anything, McKayla had always made you feel welcome, like you were still an important part of their family.
Just as McKayla let go, Todd walked over, his familiar grin lighting up his face. âThereâs my favorite little girl!â he boomed, wrapping you in one of his signature bear hugs. âHowâve you been, Y/N?â
âIâve been good, Todd,â you said, your voice a little quieter now. âHow about you?â
âOh, you know, keeping busy,â Todd replied, his tone warm. âWeâve missed you around here, you know. This place isnât the same without you.â
Jodi joined the group, pulling you into a soft hug. âY/N, itâs so good to see you again,â she said, her smile kind but tinged with something deeperâan understanding, perhaps, of the distance that had grown between you and her son. âHow are your parents?â
âTheyâre good,â you answered. âTheyâre actually in Rome right now, celebrating their 35th anniversary.â
âAh, Rome,â Jodi sighed wistfully. âLucky them. They always did know how to celebrate big.â
You smiled at the familiarity of their banter, grateful for their warmth, but it wasnât enough to stop the tightening in your chest. Every few minutes, your eyes would drift back to Drew and Odessa. The easy way they sat together, the way Drewâs hand occasionally brushed her arm as he spokeâit was hard to ignore. Even harder to accept.
âLetâs get you something to drink,â McKayla suggested, sensing your unease and pulling you away from the crowd. As you followed her inside, you passed Drew and Odessa. Drew glanced up at you, a smile briefly crossing his face.
âHey, Y/N! Glad you could make it,â Drew said, his tone casual, but there was a distance in his voice that hadnât been there before.
âYeah, wouldnât miss it,â you replied, trying to keep your tone light, even though your heart ached.
You could feel Odessaâs eyes on you, though her smile was polite. âNice to see you again,â she added, her tone friendly but not warm. You nodded, but the knot in your chest tightened as the conversation shifted back to something between her and Drew.
As the night progressed, Drew suggested watching Hellraiserâthe movie he and Odessa had filmed together. It was the project he had talked about non-stop for months, and while you had been happy for him, you had avoided watching it. The idea of seeing Drew and Odessa on screen together, so intimately connected, made you uneasy.
âI think youâll like it,â Drew said as the group settled in front of the outdoor screen. âItâs one of my favorite projects.â
You sat between McKayla and Todd, grateful for the distance between you and Drew, but as the opening credits rolled, the familiar knot in your stomach returned.
At first, you tried to focus on the movie, telling yourself it was just another role for Drewâjust a job, nothing more. But as the film progressed, your discomfort grew. Drewâs character, Trevor, and Odessaâs character, Riley, had an undeniable chemistry, one that felt far too real. Every glance, every touch between them on screen felt intimate, too personal.
And then the first love scene played out.
You had prepared yourself for it, but nothing could have braced you for how raw it felt to watch Drew and Odessa in such a vulnerable, intimate moment. The room around you seemed to fade, and all you could focus on was the way Drew looked at her on screen, the way their bodies intertwined in a way that felt too real to be acting.
Your breath caught in your throat, and you fought to keep your expression neutral, but the weight in your chest was growing unbearable. You hadnât realized how much it would hurt to see him like this, to be confronted with the reality of how much you were no longer a part of his life.
A lump formed in your throat as you forced yourself to stay seated, but when the second love scene began, you couldnât take it anymore. The emotions you had been pushing down for months suddenly overwhelmed you, and without a word, you stood up, muttering a quick excuse to McKayla before making your way to the front porch.
As soon as you were outside, you collapsed onto the porch steps, gasping for air as the tears finally spilled over. You had been trying so hard to keep it together, but seeing Drew and Odessa like thatâso close, so connectedâhad broken something inside you.
âY/N?â
McKaylaâs voice was soft, and you quickly wiped at your eyes as she stepped outside, sitting down beside you. She didnât say anything for a moment, just sat with you in the quiet, the sound of the movie still playing faintly in the background.
âAre you okay?â she finally asked, her voice filled with concern.
You shook your head, your voice trembling as you spoke. âI donât think I can do this, McKayla. Watching them together... itâs too much.â
McKayla sighed, her brow furrowing in sympathy. âI get it, Y/N. Itâs hard. But you have to talk to him. He doesnât know how much youâre hurting.â
âI donât think he even cares,â you whispered, your voice cracking. âHeâs so wrapped up in Odessa and his career... I donât think I matter to him anymore.â
McKayla shook her head firmly, turning to face you fully. âThatâs not true, Y/N. I know my brother. He still cares about youâheâs just blind to everything right now. But you need to tell him how you feel. You deserve that.â
You wiped at your eyes, trying to steady your breathing. âI donât know if I can.â
âYou can,â McKayla said softly, her hand resting on your shoulder. âYouâve been there for him through everything, Y/N. He needs to understand how much youâre hurting.â
You nodded, but the thought of confronting Drew still terrified you. You werenât sure if you were ready to face him, to lay everything out on the table. But one thing was clearâyou couldnât keep pretending everything was okay. You couldnât keep carrying this hurt on your own.
The next morning, you woke up with the same heavy feeling in your chest. You had tossed and turned all night, replaying the movie over and over in your mind, each scene only deepening the ache in your heart. You needed to leave. As much as you loved the Starkeys, being hereâbeing around Drew and Odessaâwas too painful.
You packed your bags quietly, leaving a note for McKayla and Todd, thanking them for their hospitality. Slipping out of the house before anyone else woke up, you drove home, your heart heavy with unresolved emotions.
Back at the Starkey house, McKayla sat at the kitchen table with Todd, sipping her coffee as the morning sunlight streamed through the windows.
âShe left early,â McKayla said quietly, setting her mug down with a frown. âShe didnât say goodbye.â
Todd looked up from his newspaper, his brow furrowed. âThat doesnât sound like her. Did something happen?â
McKayla sighed, glancing out the window. âI think things are worse than we thought. Y/N... sheâs been really struggling, Dad. Watching Drew and Odessa together... itâs been breaking her heart.â
Toddâs face softened with understanding, his eyes clouded with concern. âSheâs been a part of this family for so long. I hate to think sheâs feeling left out.â
Before McKayla could respond, Drew wandered into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes groggily. âMorning,â he mumbled, heading straight for the coffee pot. But when he noticed the tension in the room, he paused, frowning.
âWhatâs going on?â he asked, looking between McKayla and Todd.
McKayla exchanged a glance with her father before turning to Drew. âY/N left early this morning,â she said, her voice heavy with worry. âShe didnât say goodbye.â
Drewâs frown deepened, confusion flickering in his eyes. âWhat? Why?â
Todd sighed, folding his newspaper as he looked at his son. âI think you know why, Drew. Y/Nâs been feeling like youâve pushed her aside for a long time now. Last night... watching you and Odessa on screen... it was too much for her.â
Drew paled, guilt washing over his face. âWhat? Iâ I didnât mean toââ He trailed off, his voice cracking with emotion.
McKayla crossed her arms, her tone gentle but firm. âDrew, sheâs been there for you through everything. But youâve been so caught up in your own life that you didnât realize how much you were hurting her.â
Drewâs face fell, the weight of his sisterâs words hitting him like a punch to the gut. He had known something was wrong between you two, but he hadnât realized how deep the hurt ran.
âI need to fix this,â Drew muttered, setting down his coffee and running a hand through his hair. Without another word, he grabbed his keys and headed out the door, determination written all over his face.
You werenât expecting Drew to show up at your door. After the overwhelming emotions of the previous night, all you wanted was some distanceâsome space to breathe, to think. The moment you opened the door and saw Drew standing on your porch, his expression filled with a mix of regret and urgency, your heart raced with a mixture of anticipation and dread.
âY/N,â Drew began, his voice soft but strained. âCan I come in? We need to talk.â
You hesitated for a moment, gripping the edge of the door, your mind torn between letting him in and closing the door on everything youâd been feeling. Part of you wanted to push him awayâto protect yourself from the pain that had been eating away at you for so long. But another part of youâa much deeper partâwanted answers. Needed them.
With a reluctant sigh, you stepped back and motioned for Drew to come in.
He walked into your living room, the air thick with tension. As you closed the door behind him, you couldnât help but notice the way he looked around, as though searching for something familiar to hold on to. His eyes briefly landed on a photo of the two of you from years ago, sitting on the mantleâa reminder of better times, of the friendship that had once been your anchor.
Drew stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, his hands in his pockets, his eyes downcast. It was clear that he was struggling to find the right words, but the silence between you was too much to bear.
âYou left without saying goodbye,â Drew finally said, his voice almost a whisper. There was a vulnerability in his tone, something you hadnât heard from him in a long time.
You crossed your arms, trying to keep your emotions in check. âYeah, I did. I couldnât stay, Drew.â
He glanced up at you, his eyes filled with guilt. âWhy? Why didnât you talk to me?â
You let out a bitter laugh, shaking your head as you looked away. âTalk to you? Drew, when have we really talked lately? Every conversation weâve had for months has been about Odessa or your career. You barely even notice Iâm there anymore.â
Drew flinched at your words, the weight of them hitting him hard. âThatâs not true, Y/N. I care about youâIâve always cared.â
âReally?â you shot back, your voice trembling with anger and hurt. âBecause it sure doesnât feel like it. Do you even realize how long Iâve been feeling like this? How long Iâve been watching you slip away, trying to convince myself that I wasnât losing you?â
Drew opened his mouth to respond, but you didnât let him. The dam of emotions you had been holding back for so long finally broke, and the words came tumbling out before you could stop them.
âDo you know how hard itâs been, Drew? To sit on the sidelines, watching you live this new life, while I feel like Iâm not even part of it anymore? Iâve stood by you through everythingâevery audition, every role, every milestoneâand when it was my turn, when it was something important to me, you werenât there.â
Your voice cracked as you continued, the tears you had been holding back finally spilling over. âYou missed my graduation, Drew. Do you know how much that hurt? You promised youâd be there, and you didnât show up. I waited for you. I waited for you because I thought, âThis is Drew. Heâll come. Heâll be there for me like Iâve always been there for him.â But you didnât. And when you said youâd make it up to me, I thought maybe, just maybe, weâd have one night where it would just be the two of us, like old times. But you brought her.â
Drewâs face fell, his expression filled with regret. âY/N, Iâm so sorry. I didnât realizeââ
âYou didnât realize because you never asked,â you interrupted, your voice trembling with the weight of all the unspoken pain. âYou were so caught up in your own world, in your new life with Odessa, that you didnât even notice I was falling apart.â
Drewâs eyes were filled with anguish, his voice barely above a whisper. âI didnât mean to hurt you.â
âBut you did,â you said, your voice cracking with the weight of those words. âYou hurt me, Drew. Every time I saw you with her, every time you talked about her like she was the only thing that mattered to you, it felt like a knife in my chest. And I tried to be okay with it. I tried to tell myself that you deserved to be happy, that you deserved to have someone who understood your world. But it didnât stop the pain.â
Drew took a step closer to you, his hands trembling as he reached out, but he stopped short, his voice thick with emotion. âI didnât see it. I didnât see how much I was hurting you. I was selfish, Y/N. I got caught up in everythingâmy career, Odessaâand I didnât stop to think about how it was affecting you. And I hate myself for that.â
You wiped at your eyes, trying to steady your breathing, but the hurt still sat heavy in your chest. âYou forgot me,â you whispered, the words so quiet you werenât sure if he even heard them. âI was there for you through everything, and when I needed you, you forgot me.â
Drewâs face contorted with guilt and pain, and he stepped closer, his voice pleading. âI didnât forget you, Y/N. I swear, I didnât. I just... I got lost. I let everything else consume me, and I pushed you away without even realizing it. But I never stopped caring about you. I never stopped needing you in my life.â
You met his gaze, your heart aching at the raw vulnerability in his eyes. Part of you wanted to believe himâto believe that he hadnât meant to hurt you, that he was still the same Drew you had always known. But the pain was still too fresh, too raw.
âYou didnât need me, Drew,â you said, your voice barely above a whisper. âYou needed her. Every time I saw you, it was like I was just... there. Like I was some ghost from your past, watching as you built a new life without me.â
Drew shook his head, his voice breaking. âNo. No, thatâs not true. Odessa was just... she was just a friend. I never saw her as anything more. But youâIâve always seen you. Youâve always been more than just a friend to me.â
Your breath hitched, the weight of his words hitting you like a tidal wave. âWhat are you saying, Drew?â
âIâm saying that I love you, Y/N,â Drew said, his voice thick with emotion. âIâve loved you for so long, but I was too blind to see it. Too blind to realize how much I was hurting you by pushing you away. But itâs always been you. Itâs always been you, and Iâm so sorry I didnât realize it sooner.â
You stared at him, your heart racing, your mind struggling to process what he had just said. âDonât say that, Drew. Donât say that unless you mean it.â
âI do mean it,â Drew insisted, stepping closer to you. âIâve been an idiot, Y/N. I let everything else get in the way, and I lost sight of what really mattered. But youâyouâre what matters. Youâve always been the one whoâs mattered the most to me.â
Tears filled your eyes once again, your heart warring with your mind. You had waited so long to hear those words, but now that they were finally being spoken, you didnât know what to do with them.
âHow can I believe you?â you whispered, your voice trembling. âHow can I believe that you wonât hurt me again? That you wonât forget me the next time something else comes along?â
Drewâs eyes filled with desperation as he reached out and gently cupped your face in his hands. âI wonât forget you. I swear, Y/N, I wonât. Iâve already hurt you once, and I will never make that mistake again. Iâll spend the rest of my life proving to you that youâre the most important person to me. Just... please, give me another chance.â
You closed your eyes, the warmth of his touch sending a shiver down your spine. You wanted to believe him. You wanted to let go of the hurt and let Drew back into your life. But trust wasnât something that could be rebuilt overnight.
âI need time,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. âI need time to heal, to figure out if I can really trust you again.â
Drew nodded, his thumbs brushing away the tears on your cheeks. âI understand. Iâll wait. Iâll wait for as long as it takes, Y/N. Just please... donât shut me out completely.â
You opened your eyes, meeting his gaze, and for the first time in a long while, you saw the Drew you had always knownâthe Drew who had stood by your side through everything, who had been your rock when the world felt too heavy.
âI wonât shut you out,â you said softly, your heart aching with the weight of it all. âBut this... itâs going to take time.â
Drew nodded again, his relief palpable as he let out a shaky breath. âIâll be here. No matter how long it takes.â
With that, Drew slowly stepped back, giving you the space you needed. The air between you was still heavy with unresolved emotions, but for the first time in months, there was a glimmer of hope. A possibility that maybe, just maybe, things could be repaired.
As Drew turned to leave, he glanced back at you, his voice soft but filled with quiet determination. âI love you, Y/N. And Iâm not going to give up on us.â
You watched him go, your heart conflicted but not as heavy as it had been before. There was still so much to work through, but for the first time, you felt like maybeâjust maybeâyou and Drew had a chance to find your way back to each other.
The days after the confrontation felt different. Lighter, but still uncertain. The emotional heaviness lingered between you and Drew, but there was something else nowâa shared understanding that things needed time, that rushing back into the past wasnât an option.
Drew kept his word. He didnât push you, didnât try to force himself back into your life as if nothing had happened. Instead, he started with small gesturesâthings that reminded you of the Drew you had known before everything changed.
Each morning, you woke up to a text from Drew. Simple things, like: "I saw the sunrise today and thought of you. Miss those mornings." Or, "Found an old photo of us. Remember this day?" They were small messages, but they carried the weight of years of shared history and memories you had thought were forgotten.
One evening, about a week after the confrontation, Drew showed up at your door with coffee in hand. The sight of him standing there with your favorite caramel macchiato, looking uncertain but hopeful, stirred something inside you.
âI thought you could use this,â Drew said, offering a small smile. âAnd I... was hoping we could talk. Just for a little while.â
You hesitated, but then nodded, stepping aside to let him in. Drew walked into your living room, his movements tentative, like he wasnât sure where he stood anymore.
As you sat together on the couch, sipping your coffee, the silence between you was less suffocating than before. There was still a lot to work through, but at least the distance wasnât unbearable. Drew glanced around the room, his eyes landing on the framed photo of the two of you from years ago, taken on a family trip to the beach. The both of you were grinning wildly, arms around each other, as if nothing in the world could break your bond.
âI remember that day,â Drew said quietly, a soft smile tugging at his lips. âWe spent hours building a sandcastle. It collapsed after five minutes, but we didnât care. We thought it was the best thing ever.â
You chuckled softly, the memory warming something inside you. âYeah, we were so proud of it.â
Drew shifted in his seat, his expression turning more serious. âI miss those days, Y/N. I miss us. I know I messed up, and I know itâll take time, but... I want to get back to that.â
You turned to look at him, your heart aching at the sincerity in his voice. For so long, you had felt like you had lost Drewâthe Drew who had been your best friend, your confidant, the person who knew you better than anyone. But now, sitting here with him, you realized that maybe he hadnât been lost forever. Maybe he was still there, waiting for you to let him back in.
âI miss it too,â you admitted, your voice soft but full of emotion. âBut... I need time, Drew. This isnât something that can be fixed overnight.â
âI know,â Drew said, nodding. âAnd Iâm not going to rush you. Iâll take as much time as you need.â
For the first time in what felt like forever, you felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe things could be different this time. Maybe you could rebuild what had been broken.
The weeks that followed were a slow process of healing and reconnection. Drew made an effortâan effort you hadnât seen from him in months. He started texting you every morning, checking in to see how your day was going. The texts werenât long or overly sentimental, but they were consistent. They were proof that he was thinking about you, even in the midst of his busy schedule.
Some days, the texts were simple:
"Howâs work going? Thought of you when I passed by the old park today."
Other days, they carried a heavier weight:
"Iâm sorry again, Y/N. For everything. I just want you to know that Iâm still here."
And as time passed, you found yourself replying more. The walls you had built up around your heart began to slowly crumble, brick by brick. Drew wasnât just making promisesâhe was showing you that he meant them. He wasnât rushing you or pushing for more than you were ready to give. He was patient, and that patience made all the difference.
One afternoon, Drew surprised you by inviting you to lunch at the cafĂŠ you both used to frequent when you were younger. It had been years since youâd been there together, but as you sat across from each other, sipping coffee and talking about nothing in particular, it felt like you were slowly returning to a version of yourselves that had been lost.
The conversations were lighter, more comfortable. Drew listened intently when you talked about work, your hobbies, the things that had filled your life in the time you had drifted apart. And for the first time in a long time, you felt like you werenât competing with Odessa or his career for his attention. Drew was fully present, and that made all the difference.
A few weeks later, Drew showed up at your door with something unexpectedâa small gift bag in hand, looking both nervous and hopeful.
âI, uh, thought Iâd bring this over,â he said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. âI know itâs not much, but I saw it and thought of you.â
You raised an eyebrow, curious, and took the bag from him. Inside was a small journal, the cover embossed with the words âFor Every Sunrise.â Your breath caught in your throat as you pulled it out, your fingers tracing the delicate lettering.
âI know how much you love watching the sunrise,â Drew explained, his voice soft. âI thought maybe... you could use this to write down your thoughts. Or even just to keep track of the sunrises youâve seen.â
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as you looked up at him, overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness behind the gift. Drew had always known how much sunrises meant to youâthose quiet moments when the world was still, when everything felt possible. And now, here he was, reminding you of those moments in a way that felt so personal, so deeply connected to the history you shared.
âThank you,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. âItâs perfect.â
Drew smiled, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. âIâm glad you like it.â
For the first time in a long time, you felt like you were being seen. Not just as someone in Drewâs life, but as someone important. Someone who mattered.
As the weeks turned into months, you and Drew continued to rebuild your relationshipâslowly, carefully. There were still moments of doubt, moments when the hurt resurfaced and threatened to pull you back into the past. But Drew was patient. He never rushed you, never pushed you to move faster than you were ready for. Instead, he met you where you were, showing up for you in the ways that mattered most.
One day, Drew suggested a walk through the old park you used to visit as kids. It had been years since you had walked those paths together, but as you strolled through the park, side by side, it felt like you were reclaiming a piece of the past that had been lost.
âIâve been thinking a lot about us,â Drew said as you walked, his voice quiet but steady. âAbout how much weâve been through together.â
You glanced over at him, your heart tightening at the vulnerability in his voice. âYeah, me too.â
Drew stopped walking, turning to face you fully. His eyes were filled with a kind of determination you hadnât seen in a long time. âI donât want to take you for granted anymore, Y/N. Iâve been thinking about everything, and I know I hurt you. I know itâs going to take time to earn back your trust, but I want to be the person you can count on again. The person you deserve.â
You stared at him, your heart pounding in your chest. The sincerity in his voice, the way he looked at youâit was different now. There was no hesitation, no uncertainty. He meant every word.
âI want that too,â you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper. âBut I need to know that this time... this time, itâs real.â
âIt is,â Drew promised, his voice thick with emotion. âI swear, Y/N, itâs real.â
And in that moment, as the sun began to set behind the trees, casting a golden glow over the park, you knew that maybeâjust maybeâyou and Drew were finally on the right path. It wasnât going to be easy, and there were still wounds that needed time to heal, but for the first time in a long time, you felt like you could trust him again. Trust that he wasnât going to let you down.
Months passed, and the slow process of rebuilding trust continued. Drew didnât let up on his effortsâhe made time for you, prioritized you, and showed you in small, meaningful ways that he was committed to repairing the damage that had been done.
The two of you began to fall back into an easy rhythm. Movie nights, long conversations over coffee, quiet walks through the parkâit was like rediscovering an old friendship, but with the added depth of everything you had been through. The love you had for each other was still there, but now, it was stronger, more resilient.
One evening, Drew invited you to his house for dinner. It was just the two of you, and as you sat together on the back porch, watching the sunset, you felt a sense of peace settle over youâa peace you hadnât felt in a long time.
âIâve been thinking a lot about the future,â Drew said softly, breaking the comfortable silence between you.
You turned to look at him, your heart skipping a beat. âYeah? What about it?â
Drewâs eyes softened as he reached out and took your hand, his fingers gently intertwining with yours. âAbout us. About what we want.â
You swallowed hard, your pulse quickening at the intensity of his gaze. âAnd what do you want, Drew?â
âI want you,â he said, his voice steady but filled with emotion. âI want you in my life, in every way. I donât want to lose you again, Y/N. I love you. I always have.â
Tears welled up in your eyes as his words washed over you. It had taken so long to get to this point, to rebuild what had been broken, but now, sitting here with Drew, you knew that it had all been worth it.
âI love you too,â you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion. âIâve loved you for so long, and I donât want to lose you either.â
Drew smiled, his eyes filled with relief and happiness. âThen letâs not waste any more time. Letâs be together.â
And as he leaned in to kiss you, the weight of all the past hurt and pain seemed to fade away, leaving only the promise of a futureâtogether.
THE END!!

based on this request: Drew and reader! After watching Outer Banks season 1, out of curiosty because the reader finds him attractive, she goes on his instagram but accidently presses ''Follow'' but panics and unfollows. She wants to play it cool you know, and not be that ''fangirl'' incase she ever bumped into him. Not that she thinks she would ever have a chance, but you know? She is surprised when he follows her a few hours later since she is just a 'normal person' and not a celebrity or influencer. He sends her a message and kind of jokingly being like ''Was I that boring to follow'' or something and a conversation just takes off | word count: 1,2k

You had just finished watching the first season of Outer Banks, and to say you were hooked would be an understatement. The show had everythingâdrama, adventure, and a cast that was undeniably attractive. But there was one character who had particularly caught your eye: Rafe Cameron, played by the actor Drew Starkey. You werenât sure if it was the intensity he brought to the character or just his piercing blue eyes, but either way, you found yourself thinking about him long after the credits rolled.
Out of curiosity, and maybe a little bit of a crush, you decided to check out his Instagram. You were sure it was just harmless fun, a way to see what the actor was like off-screen. After all, it wasnât like you were ever going to meet him in real life. You were just a normal person, living a normal life, far removed from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
You typed his name into the search bar and quickly found his profile. As you scrolled through his photos, you couldnât help but notice how different he seemed from his character. He had a warm, genuine smile in most of his pictures, and the captions were often humorous or thoughtful. It was refreshing, and it only made you like him more.
Without really thinking, your thumb hovered over the âFollowâ button. Before you could second-guess yourself, you pressed itâalmost instinctively. But as soon as you did, panic set in. Oh no, what did I just do? Your mind raced. I wasnât supposed to actually follow him!
In a frenzy, you quickly unfollowed him, hoping he wouldnât notice. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you couldnât believe you had been so careless. What if he saw? you thought, mortified. You werenât trying to be that personâjust another fangirl who accidentally reveals her crush on a celebrity.
You put your phone down, trying to distract yourself with something else, but your mind kept drifting back to that split-second decision. He has millions of followers, you reassured yourself. Thereâs no way he would notice one random person following and unfollowing him.
Hours passed, and you had almost managed to forget the whole thing when your phone buzzed with a notification. You glanced at the screen and froze. It was a notification from Instagram: @drewstarkey followed you back.
Your heart skipped a beat. Wait, what? You stared at the screen, blinking in disbelief. Drew Starkey, the Drew Starkey, had followed you? But why? You were just an ordinary person, not a celebrity or influencer. The thought that he might have actually noticed you made your stomach do a little flip.
Before you could fully process what was happening, another notification appearedâa message from him. With shaky fingers, you tapped on it, your heart racing.
Drew Starkey:
Was I that boring to follow? đ
You stared at the message, completely floored. He noticed. He actually noticed. And not only that, he had messaged you, joking about it. You werenât sure whether to laugh or cry, but one thing was certain: you needed to reply.
Taking a deep breath, you started typing.
You:
Oh my gosh, no! It was totally an accident. I swear Iâm not a weirdo or anythingâŚ
You paused, rereading the message. Great, now I sound like a weirdo, you thought, rolling your eyes at yourself. You quickly added:
You:
I was just checking out your profile after watching Outer Banks. But then I got nervous and unfollowed because I didnât want to seem like a fangirl.
There was a brief moment of silence as you watched the three little dots indicating he was typing. Your heart was in your throat, and you couldnât believe this was actually happening.
Drew Starkey:
No need to be nervous. Iâm just a regular guy who happens to play a crazy one on TV. đ
You felt your nerves ease a little at his response. He seemed so down-to-earth and genuine, which only made you like him more.
You:
Well, youâre really good at playing the crazy guy. I didnât think Iâd ever root for Rafe, but you made him so compelling!
Drew Starkey:
Thanks! That means a lot. Itâs always fun to play characters that are so different from who I am in real life.
You:
I can imagine. It must be challenging, though.
Drew Starkey:
Definitely. But itâs also rewarding when people like you notice the work that goes into it. By the way, what did you think of the show?
The conversation was flowing so naturally, it was almost surreal. Here you were, chatting with Drew Starkey like you were old friends, and he was genuinely interested in what you had to say.
You:
I loved it! It was such a wild ride from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. And the cast is amazingâI can tell you all have great chemistry.
Drew Starkey:
We really do. Itâs like a little family on set. Iâm glad that comes across on screen.
There was a brief pause, and then another message came through.
Drew Starkey:
So, since weâre already chatting, mind if I keep following you? đ
You couldnât help but smile at the cheeky tone of his message. He was clearly teasing you, but there was something sweet about it, too.
You:
Well, I guess I can allow that. đ
Drew Starkey:
Good to know Iâm not banned from your profile. đ
You:
Not at all. But now I feel like I have to step up my Instagram game. đ
Drew Starkey:
No pressure! Iâm just here for the good vibes and dog pics, if you have any.
You laughed, feeling completely at ease now. This whole situation had gone from panic-inducing to utterly charming in a matter of minutes.
You:
Well, youâre in luck. I do have a dog, and sheâs very photogenic.
Drew Starkey:
Now Iâm really glad I followed you. đś
The two of you continued chatting for a while, sharing stories about your pets, favorite shows, and the little things in life that made you happy. It was easy, comfortable, and funâlike catching up with a friend you hadnât seen in a while.
Eventually, you noticed the time and realized how late it had gotten.
You:
I should probably let you go. I didnât mean to keep you up all night!
Drew Starkey:
No worries, this was fun. Iâm glad you accidentally followed me. đ
You:
Me too. Thanks for being so cool about it.
Drew Starkey:
Anytime. And hey, donât be a stranger. Feel free to message me anytime.
You:
I will. Goodnight, Drew.
Drew Starkey:
Goodnight, Y/n.
You set your phone down with a huge smile on your face, your heart still fluttering from the unexpected turn of events. What had started as a simple curiosity had led to something much moreâan actual conversation with Drew Starkey. And the best part? Heâd followed you first.

Your Paris hotel room was warm and was bathed in a soft golden light from the setting sun, reflecting off the elegant dĂŠcor. You had been fussing with your oversized light pink shirt for what felt like forever, trying to get the belt to sit just right. Across the room, Drew stood in front of the full-length mirror, completely absorbed in his reflectionâbut not in the vain, self-centered way. No, Drew was clearly excited, though he kept glancing at you between admiring his navy with white striped cardigan.
âI think this is it,â Drew finally said, adjusting the cardigan again. âBut, you know, it doesnât really matter what I wear.â
You glanced up from your belt, raising an eyebrow. âOh? So now youâre going to pretend like you donât care about looking good at a fashion show?â
He chuckled, walking over to you. âNah, itâs not that. Itâs just... look at you. No oneâs gonna be looking at me tonight.â He stood in front of you now, hands casually tucked into the pockets of his jeans, staring down at you with the most obvious admiration in his eyes.
You rolled your eyes, but you couldnât help the warmth that spread through you at his words. Drew was dressed in the perfect blend of casual and stylish: a dark pair of jeans, effortlessly cool sneakers, and the LOEWE navy blue cardigan with white diagonal stripes that hugged his frame in all the right places.
"You look amazing," he said, his voice softer, more sincere now. His fingers grazed the fabric of your oversized pink shirt, adjusting the belt around your waist. âSeriously, babe. Youâre going to blow everyone away tonight.â
You looked down, hiding a smile. âI donât know... I feel like Iâm swimming in this shirt.â
Drewâs hands landed on your shoulders, and he took a step back to admire you. âNope. Youâre wrong. You look like you belong on the runway.â
Your heart fluttered under his gaze. The way Drew looked at youâsoft, appreciative, like you were the only thing in the room worth paying attention toâmade you feel like you were glowing. Youâd seen that look from him a hundred times, but tonight, there was something different. Something deeper. He couldnât stop staring, and it wasnât just the fashion show nerves. It was pure affection.
âI think youâre exaggerating,â you teased, though your smile gave away how much you loved hearing it.
Drew chuckled, pulling you close by the waist and placing a soft kiss on your forehead. âIâm not exaggerating. I just canât help it. Look at you. Youâre perfect.â
You looked up into his eyes, a little flustered but completely in love with the way he was looking at youâlike he couldnât believe his luck. The intensity in his eyes felt almost palpable, as though he couldnât quite get over the fact that you were his, standing there in front of him.
âOkay, okay,â you said, gently pushing him away, though you couldnât stop smiling. âEnough with the compliments. Weâre going to be late if we donât leave soon.â
Drew laughed softly but didnât take his eyes off you. âSure, but just so you know, my eyes are going to be glued to you all night.â
The LOEWE fashion show was nothing short of breathtaking. The venue was packed with celebrities, designers, influencers, and fashion industry elites, all buzzing with excitement for the latest collection. Photographers lined the runway, their cameras flashing non-stop as everyone took their seats.
As soon as you and Drew entered, all eyes were on you both. Drewâs hand was gently wrapped around your waist, guiding you through the crowd as you made your way to your seats in the front row. The energy in the room was electric, and you could feel the anticipation for the show growing by the second.
You could also feel Drewâs gaze still on you, even though the show was about to begin.
âAre you seriously still staring at me?â you whispered, nudging him lightly as you took your seat.
Drew didnât bother hiding his smile. âYeah. Youâre the most beautiful thing here.â
You felt your cheeks heat up, glancing away to try and shake the butterflies in your stomach. Drew wasnât being overly dramaticâhis voice was calm, soft, and completely sincere. When you finally looked back at him, his eyes hadnât moved from you. He was practically beaming, like a kid in a candy store who couldnât believe his luck.
âYouâre supposed to be watching the show,â you reminded him, trying to keep your voice light, though your heart was doing flips.
âI am,â he replied, his eyes still glued to you. âJust not the runway.â
The lights dimmed, signaling the start of the show, and the first models began strutting down the runway in their stunning, avant-garde outfits. The crowd murmured in admiration, but Drew didnât seem interested. His hand slipped into yours, giving it a gentle squeeze as his thumb lazily brushed over your skin.
You tried to focus on the models, the clothes, the lightsâbut it was impossible with the way Drew kept looking at you. His gaze was soft but intense, his eyes full of admiration and warmth. Every few minutes, heâd glance at the runway as if to remind himself where he was, but his eyes always returned to you.
âYouâre hopeless,â you whispered, though you were smiling as you said it.
Drew just shrugged, his heart eyes fully on display. âCanât help it.â
The show went on, and while everyone around you was absorbed in the incredible designs and the flawless models, Drew seemed perfectly content just sitting there, holding your hand and watching you like you were the only thing that mattered.
After the show, the venue transformed into a post-show party, with guests mingling, champagne being passed around, and conversations buzzing about the eveningâs outfits. Drew kept you close, his arm around your waist, his hand never leaving yours.
âYouâre seriously not going to take your eyes off me, are you?â you teased as you two wandered through the crowd.
Drew leaned in closer, whispering into your ear. âNot a chance.â
His voice sent a pleasant shiver down your spine, and despite the chaos of the party, you felt like you were in your own little bubble with him. You couldnât help but grin, feeling the warmth of his affection radiating through every glance, every touch.
But then, as if on cue, things took a slight turn when you spotted a familiar face across the room. Your heart skipped a beat.
Ryan Corr.
Your longtime celebrity crush. He was standing just a few feet away, casually chatting with some industry insiders, looking as effortlessly cool as ever. For a moment, you forgot where you were, completely starstruck.
Drew, being ever observant, noticed your reaction immediately.
âOh no,â he muttered, his voice low but teasing. âItâs him, isnât it?â
You blinked, trying to snap out of it. âWhat? No. I mean, yeah, but itâs not a big deal.â
Drew raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into an amused grin. âNot a big deal? Youâre literally glowing right now.â
You felt your face flush. âI am not glowing.â
Drew let out a soft chuckle, his arm around your waist tightening slightly. âYou are. Thatâs your heart eyes face.â
You rolled your eyes, but you couldnât deny the flustered feeling creeping up on you. âOkay, maybe itâs a tiny bit of a heart eyes situation. But I swear itâs nothing.â
Drew laughed, leaning in closer as his hand slid to the small of your back. âI donât mind. Just donât forget who youâre here with, alright?â
Before you could respond, Ryan Corr himself appeared in front of you, his easygoing smile making your heart do somersaults.
âHey, I just wanted to say youâre killing it in that outfit,â Ryan said, his gaze landing on your oversized shirt. âLOEWE always knows how to make someone stand out.â
You opened your mouth to reply, but before you could, Drew stepped in, his grip on your waist just a touch firmer now.
âShe pulls off everything,â Drew said smoothly, giving Ryan a smile that was friendly but clearly laced with something more. âBut thanks. She looks incredible, right?â
Ryan nodded, clearly missing the subtle tension. âYeah, she definitely does. Great taste.â
Drewâs smile tightened, and you could practically see the shift in his posture. He wasnât angryâjust a little competitive, a little protective. He wasnât going to let Ryan out-charm him, not tonight.
âYeah, well, Iâm the lucky one who gets to take her home,â Drew said, his voice casual, but the look in his eyes said it all.
You bit your lip, trying to stifle a laugh at how obvious Drew was being. Ryan, blissfully unaware, gave you a polite nod and excused himself to mingle with other guests. The moment he walked away, Drew let out a dramatic sigh, his arm still firmly around your waist.
âOkay, Iâll admit it,â he muttered. âI mightâve been a little jealous.â
You raised an eyebrow, laughing softly as you leaned into him. âA little?â
Drew pouted, though his heart eyes were still on full display. âAlright, maybe more than a little. But come on, Ryan Corr?â
You smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck. âYou donât have to be jealous. You know I only have heart eyes for you.â
Drewâs expression softened instantly, his grip on you tightening as he pulled you closer. âGood,â he murmured, pressing his forehead against yours. âBecause Iâve had them for you all night.â
You kissed him softly, letting the moment linger. When you pulled back, his gaze was still locked on you, filled with all the love and admiration youâd seen earlierâand more. His heart eyes werenât going anywhere, no matter who else was in the room.
Later, back at the hotel, you and Drew collapsed onto the bed in a fit of giggles. The night had been a whirlwind, from the fashion show to the party, to Drewâs obviousâyet adorableâjealousy.
âYou were so jealous,â you teased, lying down beside him and resting your head on his chest.
Drew groaned dramatically, covering his face with his hands. âI know. Iâm never gonna live this down, am I?â
You laughed, wrapping an arm around his waist. âNope. But I kind of liked it.â
He peeked out from behind his hands, his eyes sparkling with affection. âReally?â
You nodded, pressing a kiss to his chest. âIt was cute. Youâre cute. Even when youâre jealous.â
Drew sighed, pulling you closer and pressing a kiss to the top of your head. âWell, I guess itâs alright as long as Iâm the only one youâve got heart eyes for.â
âYou always will be,â you whispered, smiling against him.
Drew smiled, holding you tightly as the two of you drifted into a comfortable silence. And as the night settled around you, you couldnât help but feel incredibly lucky. No matter how many celebrities or crushes came and went, it was Drew who had your heartâand he knew it.

The cameraâs red recording light blinked on, signaling the start of something you and Rafe had talked about for weeks. It was your first podcast togetherâan idea that had sprung up during a quiet evening at home, when both of you had been reflecting on how much your fans adored seeing you two together off-screen. You were both actors, co-stars in several hit films, but it was your real-life relationship that captivated audiences the most. Everyone wanted to know what married life was like for two of Hollywoodâs biggest stars.
âAlright, weâre live,â Rafe said, his voice warm and easy as he leaned back in his chair, one arm resting behind you. He always had this effortless charm, and being in front of the cameraâwhether for work or something personal like thisâseemed second nature to him.
You smiled at the camera, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. âHey, guys! Welcome to the first episode of In the Limelight with me and my amazing husband, Rafe.â You threw him a playful look, and he grinned in return.
âYep, weâre finally doing this,â Rafe added, his tone light and casual. âWeâve been talking about starting this podcast for a while now, and after a few months of marriageâand a ton of fan questionsâwe thought, why not let you all in on whatâs really going on with us?â
You both exchanged a glance, silently acknowledging the curiosity that had been swirling around your relationship since the moment your engagement was announced, followed by your wedding and now, of course, the inevitable rumors that always followed celebrity couples.
âSo,â you began, pulling out your phone where you had saved some of the fan-submitted questions. âLetâs jump right in. First question is a classic: âHowâs married life treating you two?ââ
Rafe chuckled, reaching over to take your hand. âIâll take this one,â he said, squeezing your fingers gently. âHonestly? Itâs been amazing. I mean, I know everyone says the first year is the hardest, but for us, itâs been pretty smooth. I think it helps that we were friends for so long before we got married.â
You nodded, agreeing wholeheartedly. âYeah, I think the fact that we already knew each other so well made the transition easier. We already knew what it was like to work together, to spend crazy hours on set, and to deal with the ups and downs of Hollywood life. But marriage⌠itâs brought a whole new level of closeness.â
Rafe smiled at you, that sweet, loving look that always made your heart skip a beat. âItâs the little things, you know?â he continued, his voice softening. âLike coming home after a long day of filming and just⌠being together. We donât need to do anything fancy. Itâs those quiet momentsâcooking dinner, binge-watching movies on the couchâthat make everything feel right.â
You laughed softly, resting your head on his shoulder for a moment. âYeah, weâve definitely embraced the whole âstay-at-homeâ vibe. Itâs funny because people probably think our lives are all red carpets and glamorous events, but the reality is⌠we love just being home.â
Rafe kissed the top of your head, his arm wrapping around you a bit tighter. âExactly. Itâs about finding peace in the chaos.â
You looked back at the camera, your smile widening. âSo, to answer that questionâmarried life has been pretty perfect so far.â
Rafe leaned in toward the mic, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret with the audience. âWell, except for the fact that Y/N snores.â
Your eyes widened in playful shock as you turned to him, smacking his arm lightly. âI do not snore!â
He laughed, raising his hands in defense. âOkay, maybe not âsnore,â but you definitely make these cute little noises when you sleep.â
âNice save,â you teased, rolling your eyes at him. But there was no denying the warmth that filled you when Rafe brought up these intimate, everyday moments. It reminded you of how special your bond truly was.
The questions kept coming in, most of them light and fun. You and Rafe shared stories about working on set together, how you navigated hectic filming schedules, and how you always made time for each other no matter how busy life got.
But then came the question that made both of you pause, even though youâd expected it.
âAlright, hereâs one weâve seen floating around a lot lately,â you said, glancing at Rafe before reading it aloud. ââThereâs been a lot of talk on social media lately about Y/N being pregnant. Can you guys confirm or deny?ââ
Rafe let out a small chuckle, running a hand through his hair. âAh, the baby question. We knew it was coming.â
You smiled softly, feeling the weight of the question settle between you. It wasnât a complete surpriseârumors had been swirling for weeks now, especially after a few public appearances where youâd been wearing looser outfits. It seemed like everyone was waiting for the announcement, but you and Rafe hadnât decided if you were ready to share that part of your lives just yet.
âFor now,â you began, choosing your words carefully, âweâre just enjoying being married and taking things one step at a time. ButâŚâ
Rafe interjected, his voice gentle but firm. âBut, yeah, weâve definitely talked about the future. And when the time is right, weâll be more than ready for that next chapter.â
You turned to him, catching the way his eyes softened when he talked about the future. It wasnât the first time youâd had this conversationâlate-night talks in bed, lying side by side, imagining what it would be like to have a family. It was something you both wanted deeply, and while you werenât officially sharing any news, you both knew it was only a matter of time before that dream became a reality.
The fans were sharpâtheyâd probably pick up on the subtle hints you were dropping. And honestly, you were okay with that. There was a certain excitement in knowing that your fans were part of this journey with you, even if they didnât know all the details yet.
Rafe glanced at you, his thumb gently brushing over your knuckles. âWeâve got some pretty big plans for the future,â he said, his voice taking on that playful, teasing tone again. âBut weâll let you guys know when the time comes.â
You laughed softly, leaning against his shoulder with a smile, savoring the moment. The warmth between you two was palpable, even through the screen, and you knew that your fans would feel it, too.
âYeah,â you added, âweâll keep you guys posted. But for now, weâre just really happy with where we are.â
Rafeâs hand never left yours, and the way he looked at you, with so much love and tenderness, made your heart flutter. There was no rushâyou both knew that when the time was right, everything would fall into place. For now, though, the peace and joy of simply being together were enough.
âAnd,â Rafe chimed in, a mischievous glint in his eye, âin the meantime, weâve got plenty of other exciting things going on to keep us busy.â
You gave him a playful nudge. âOh, you mean like actually doing the dishes? Because that would be pretty exciting.â
Rafe laughed, shaking his head. âOkay, fine, Iâll step up my dishwashing game. But I was talking more about the new projects weâre working on.â
You nodded, turning back to the camera. âRight! So, we do have some big news on the professional front. Rafe just signed on to do this incredible action film, and Iâm working on a drama thatâs been in the works for a while now.â
Rafe leaned in, clearly proud. âYeah, Y/Nâs got a lead role in a movie thatâs going to blow people away. Trust me, Iâve read the scriptâitâs phenomenal. Iâm already jealous of her co-star.â
You laughed at his fake pout, knowing exactly what he meant. âItâs just work, babe,â you teased, raising an eyebrow.
âI know, I know,â he said, his voice softening. âBut itâs hard not to be a little protective, you know? Iâm lucky enough to have you as my wife, so I canât help it.â
Your heart swelled at his words, and you couldnât resist leaning over to kiss his cheek. âYouâre the sweetest. But I promise, no one compares to you.â
He smiled, that signature Rafe grin that made your knees weak even after all this time. âIâm holding you to that.â
As the conversation flowed, you both eased into talking about your careers and the delicate balance of being in the same industry while maintaining a strong, healthy relationship.
âHonestly,â Rafe said, his voice thoughtful, âthe biggest challenge has been time. Weâre both so busy, and sometimes itâs hard to line up our schedules. But weâve learned to prioritize our time together. Like, when weâre both home, itâs our time. No work, no distractionsâjust us.â
You nodded in agreement. âYeah, thatâs been the key. Itâs easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of our careers, but at the end of the day, weâre each otherâs biggest supporters. We make it work because we want to.â
Rafeâs hand slid from yours to rest on your knee, a gesture that felt grounding, reassuring. âAnd weâve also learned how to compromise. Sometimes that means Iâm on set a little longer, and other times, sheâs off filming for weeks at a time. But we always find a way to make it work.â
You smiled, thinking about how true that was. There were days when the distance felt hardâespecially during long shoots in different countriesâbut no matter where you were, you always found time to talk, to check in, and to remind each other of what really mattered.
âThatâs another question we got a lot,â you said, glancing at your phone. âHow do we handle being apart for so long during filming?â
Rafe leaned forward, his eyes serious but soft. âItâs not easy, but it helps that we trust each other completely. I know that no matter where she is or what sheâs doing, weâre solid. And we make the most of the time we do have together.â
âExactly,â you added. âWe also try to visit each other on set whenever possible. Even if itâs just for a weekend, those little moments make a huge difference.â
Rafeâs expression turned playful again. âAnd FaceTime helps. A lot.â
You laughed, nodding in agreement. âDefinitely. Technology is a lifesaver.â
The two of you continued to chat about the nuances of your life togetherâhow you balanced fame with privacy, how you navigated the ups and downs of being in the public eye, and how, at the end of the day, your relationship was built on love, trust, and a shared sense of humor.
âSo,â Rafe said, glancing at the clock on the wall, âbefore we wrap up, we have time for one more question.â
You scanned through the remaining questions, your eyes landing on one that made your heart skip a beat. You could feel the weight of it as you read aloud, ââWhatâs next for the Camerons? Any big plans for the future?ââ
There was a beat of silence between you, a kind of unspoken understanding that hung in the air. You knew what the fans were really asking. They wanted to know about the next chapter in your livesâthe one that, while not confirmed, was slowly taking shape in your hearts and minds.
Rafe looked at you, his gaze soft and filled with something deeper, something that made you feel completely seen. He cleared his throat, his hand still resting on your knee. âWell⌠without giving too much away⌠weâve definitely been thinking about the future. And weâre really excited about whatâs coming next.â
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through you as you nodded. âYeah, we have some big things planned. But weâre taking our time and making sure that when the momentâs right, weâre ready.â
Rafeâs eyes flickered with a knowing look, one that only you could interpret. âLetâs just say⌠the next chapter might be a little more family-oriented.â
Your heart fluttered at his words, and you couldnât help but smile wider. The hints were subtle, but you knew your fans would pick up on them. And maybe that was okay. You and Rafe were on the verge of something new, something exciting. And while you werenât ready to make any big announcements just yet, the thought of itâof starting a family togetherâwas something that filled you both with a sense of joy and anticipation.
As the podcast came to a close, you both thanked your fans for tuning in and promised there would be more episodes to come. Rafe leaned over to turn off the camera, and when the red light finally dimmed, he looked at you with that same loving expression he always had.
âYou ready for that next chapter?â he asked, his voice soft, but full of warmth.
You smiled, leaning into him, feeling completely at peace. âWith you? Always.â
Rafe kissed your forehead, his arms wrapping around you as you sat there in the quiet of your home studio. The future was bright, and whatever came next, you knew youâd face it togetherâhand in hand, just like always.

The warmth of the sunlight and the gentle sound of waves from outside made everything feel peaceful and calmâyour perfect little haven. You were curled up on the couch with your son, Rustyn, nestled comfortably in your lap, his small head resting against your chest. He was two, but sometimes you marveled at how much older he seemed, with his sharp curiosity and his endless questions.
Rustynâs favorite book was in your hands as you read to him, your voice soft and soothing as you flipped through the colorful pages. Every few moments, Rustyn would point to a picture and ask you about it. His little hands would grab at the air in excitement as he processed each new detail.
âMommy, why is that bunny wearing a hat?â Rustyn asked, his bright blue eyes full of curiosity.
You chuckled softly, brushing a hand through his soft curls. âMaybe heâs going on an adventure, sweetie. What do you think?â
Rustyn considered this seriously, his face scrunching up in concentration. âYeah, maybe. I like adventures.â
âI know you do,â you said with a smile, kissing the top of his head. âYouâll have lots of them when you get bigger.â
Rustyn nodded, clearly satisfied with your answer, and snuggled closer to you. He let out a small sigh, content in the warmth of your embrace. You couldnât help but smile, your heart swelling with love as you continued to read. These were the moments you cherishedâthe quiet, everyday moments that made your little family feel complete.
As you were nearing the end of the story, you noticed Drew standing in the kitchen, leaning casually against the counter. He was watching the two of you with that familiar look of affection in his eyes, the one that always made you feel so loved. But today, there was something elseâa mischievous twinkle that you hadnât quite noticed before.
Drew took a sip of water, then set the glass down with a small, playful smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. You raised an eyebrow at him, wondering what he was up to. He didnât say anything, just casually strolled into the living room and leaned down to scoop Rustyn up from your lap.
âCome here, little man,â Drew said, his voice warm as he lifted Rustyn into his arms.
Rustyn squealed in delight, wrapping his tiny arms around Drewâs neck and giggling as Drew spun him around in a playful circle. âDada!â Rustyn cried out, his laughter echoing through the room.
âHaving fun with Mommy?â Drew asked, settling Rustyn on his hip, still grinning as he glanced at you.
âYeah! Mommy was reading to me,â Rustyn said proudly, his voice full of excitement.
But as Rustyn snuggled against Drew, his sharp little eyes caught something unusual. He tilted his head, his gaze narrowing in confusion as he stared at Drewâs left hand. You hadnât noticed it before, but now, following Rustynâs gaze, you realized that Drewâs wedding ring was missing.
Rustyn furrowed his tiny brow, clearly puzzled. His voice, though small and innocent, was filled with a sense of concern. âDada...whereâs your ring?â
You blinked, surprised by how quickly Rustyn had noticed. You hadnât even realized it yourself, but there it wasâDrewâs left hand, conspicuously bare. You glanced at Drew, raising an eyebrow as you waited for him to respond.
Drew, ever the playful one, kept his cool. He smiled down at Rustyn, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. âOh, that? Dada just didnât feel like wearing it today, buddy.â
Your mouth dropped open slightly as you watched Drew, a mixture of amusement and curiosity bubbling up inside you. What was he up to? He knew how much that ring meant to both of you, and though it wasnât a serious situation, you couldnât help but wonder how this was going to play out.
Rustyn, however, wasnât so easily fooled. His little face scrunched up again, and he looked from Drewâs hand to your face, his innocent expression filled with concern. He tugged lightly on Drewâs shirt, trying to make sense of what he was hearing.
âDada,â Rustyn said in his most serious tone, his voice soft but full of wisdom beyond his years, âyou know you gonna make Mommy sad.â
The room fell into silence, the weight of Rustynâs innocent words settling between the three of you. You felt your heart swell as you looked at your son, his little face so earnest and full of love for both of you. His concern for your feelings, even at such a young age, was enough to make your heart melt.
Drewâs grin faltered slightly as he looked at Rustyn, clearly taken aback by his sonâs sharp observation. The teasing light in his eyes softened, and he let out a small chuckle, shaking his head in disbelief. âOh really?â he asked, his voice filled with affection as he looked back down at Rustyn. âYou think Mommy will be sad if I donât wear my ring?â
Rustyn nodded, his tiny hand reaching out to touch Drewâs bare finger. âYeah, âcause it means you love her.â
You felt a lump form in your throat at Rustynâs sweet words, and you had to blink back the sudden tears that pricked at your eyes. How did this little boy know so much? How could someone so young be so in tune with your feelings? It was moments like these that reminded you just how special Rustyn was.
Drewâs eyes softened even further as he looked at you, and the playful smirk faded into something much more tender. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his wedding ring with a slow, deliberate motion. He slid it back onto his finger, never breaking eye contact with you.
âWell, we canât have Mommy being sad, can we, buddy?â Drew said softly, his voice warm as he turned his attention back to Rustyn. âIs that better?â
Rustynâs face lit up with a smile so wide it made your heart flutter. âYeah, Dada! Now you make Mommy happy again!â
Drew chuckled, glancing at you with a loving smile. âWhat do you think? Is our little man right? Does the ring make you happy?â
You smiled back at him, your heart full as you nodded. âHeâs always right,â you said softly, reaching out to gently squeeze Drewâs hand. âYou know how much that ring means to me.â
Drew leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, his hand still entwined with yours. âI know, baby,â he whispered, his voice low and full of affection.
Rustyn, clearly pleased with the resolution of the situation, snuggled into Drewâs chest, his tiny arms wrapping around his dadâs neck. âDada loves Mommy,â he said with absolute certainty, as if there had never been any doubt.
Drew smiled, looking down at Rustyn with nothing but love in his eyes. âYouâre right, Rusty. I love Mommy very much.â
Rustyn nodded solemnly, as if he had solved a great mystery. âI knew it,â he said with a proud grin.
You couldnât help but laugh softly, your heart swelling with love for both Drew and Rustyn. You reached out, wrapping your arms around both of them, pulling them into a warm hug. âI love you both so much,â you whispered, pressing a kiss to Rustynâs cheek before turning to Drew and kissing him softly on the lips.
Drew smiled against your lips, his hand resting on the small of your back as he held you close. âWe love you too,â he murmured, his voice full of warmth and tenderness.
As the three of you sat there, wrapped up in each otherâs love, the world outside seemed to fade away. It was just the three of youâyour perfect little family, full of love, laughter, and moments like these that made everything else seem small in comparison.
Rustyn, ever the observant toddler, let out a small yawn, his little body relaxing as the excitement of the day began to catch up with him. He nestled deeper into Drewâs arms, his eyes fluttering closed as he snuggled into the warmth of his dadâs chest.
As you watched Drew tuck your son into bed, your heart swelled with love once more. It was moments like theseâsimple, sweet momentsâthat made you realize just how lucky you were to have this little family.
As Drew gently closed Rustynâs bedroom door, he turned to you with a soft smile, his hand reaching for yours. âYou know I was just teasing with the ring, right?â he asked quietly, pulling you into his arms as he led you back toward the living room. His voice was low and full of sincerity now, the earlier playfulness gone, replaced by a quiet tenderness.
You smiled up at him, resting your hand against his chest as you felt the steady rhythm of his heartbeat under your palm. âI know,â you replied softly, your eyes meeting his. âBut Rustyn was right. It does mean a lot to me, even if itâs just a ring.â
Drewâs expression softened even further, and he lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it. âI know, baby. Iâll never take it off again, I promise,â he said, his tone serious but still filled with that warmth you loved so much. âAt least not without a really good reason.â
You laughed softly, leaning into him as his arms wrapped around you, pulling you close. âYou better not,â you teased, your voice playful but laced with affection.
Drew smiled down at you, his forehead resting against yours as he held you in the quiet comfort of the moment. âI know I joke around sometimes,â he began, his voice barely above a whisper. âBut I donât ever want you to doubt how much I love you. This ringâitâs a promise, not just for show.â
Your heart swelled at his words, and you nodded, your hand still resting against his chest as you leaned into him. âI never doubt it,â you whispered back. âNot for a second.â
The two of you stood there for a few more moments, wrapped up in each otherâs warmth. The house was quiet now, save for the soft sound of Rustynâs rhythmic breathing coming from his bedroom, and the golden light of the setting sun cast a warm glow through the windows, making everything feel peaceful and serene.
Drewâs arms tightened around you slightly, and he let out a contented sigh, his lips brushing against your temple as he held you. âRustynâs growing up so fast,â he murmured, his voice filled with a mixture of pride and awe. âI still canât believe how smart he isâhow much he picks up on.â
You smiled softly, pulling back just enough to look up at him. âI know,â you agreed, your voice filled with love for your little boy. âHeâs always surprising me with how much he understands. I wasnât expecting him to notice your ring like that.â
Drew chuckled, shaking his head slightly. âNeither was I. I thought Iâd get away with the prank at least until bedtime.â His smile softened, and he glanced down at his hand, where the ring now sat securely. âBut you know what? Iâm glad he noticed.â
You tilted your head, curious. âWhyâs that?â
Drewâs eyes met yours again, his gaze full of love and affection. âBecause it reminded me how much this little ring means. Not just to you, but to him too. He understands that itâs importantâhe gets that itâs a symbol of how much we love each other. And that⌠well, that makes me even prouder to wear it.â
Your heart melted at his words, and you reached up to cup his face, your thumb gently brushing along his jawline. âYouâre a good man, Drew Starkey,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion.
Drew smiled, his eyes soft and full of love. âAnd youâre the love of my life,â he replied, his voice just as tender.
He leaned down then, capturing your lips in a slow, sweet kiss that made your heart flutter in your chest. His hands rested gently on your waist as he pulled you even closer, and you could feel the steady beat of his heart against yours, a perfect rhythm that matched the quiet contentment of the moment.
When you finally pulled away, Drew rested his forehead against yours once more, his breath warm against your skin. âThank you,â he whispered, his voice so quiet it was almost lost in the stillness of the room.
âFor what?â you asked softly, your fingers gently threading through his hair.
âFor this. For our life. For Rustyn. For everything.â He pulled back just enough to look into your eyes, his expression filled with so much love that it made your heart ache. âI wouldnât trade a single moment for anything.â
You smiled, feeling the same rush of love and gratitude that you felt every time you looked at him. âNeither would I,â you whispered back.
The two of you stood there everything felt perfectâyour little family, your life together, the quiet joy that filled your days. It wasnât always grand gestures or big moments that made life special. Sometimes, it was the small, simple thingsâlike the way Drew looked at you when he wore his ring, or the way Rustynâs innocent questions could change the course of a dayâthat reminded you just how lucky you were.

It was the kind of peaceful morning that felt like a small luxuryâquiet, warm, and full of simple, slow moments. Drew was seated next to you, scrolling through his phone with a relaxed expression, while your 4-year-old son, Rustyn, was already up and playing in the living room.
The sound of toy trucks rolling across the floor accompanied Rustynâs imaginative play as he created stories for his toys, his little voice full of excitement. You smiled to yourself, feeling your heart swell at the simple joy of hearing him play. Life had become so much sweeter since Rustyn had arrivedâa bundle of curiosity, energy, and love wrapped into one tiny human. You and Drew often marveled at how quickly Rustyn seemed to grow, learning new things each day and filling your home with laughter.
The peace of the morning, however, was soon interrupted as Rustyn toddled into the kitchen, clutching his favorite stuffed bear in one hand and dragging it behind him. His expression was serious, a little too serious for a 4-year-old, and it instantly caught your attention.
Climbing up onto Drewâs lap with determination, Rustyn placed his tiny hands on his fatherâs chest, his wide blue eyes staring intently up at him. âDada,â Rustyn said, his voice laced with that innocent curiosity that always made your heart melt.
Drew blinked, setting his phone down and wrapping his arms around Rustyn. âWhatâs up, buddy?â he asked, smiling as he brushed a hand through Rustynâs messy morning hair.
Rustyn shifted slightly, adjusting his grip on Drewâs shirt as if he had something very important to say. His voice was sweet but serious as he finally spoke again. âDada, can I have a baby?â
Both you and Drew froze for a moment, your eyes widening as you processed the unexpected request. You had expected him to ask for another story or maybe breakfast, but a baby?
You exchanged a quick glance with Drew, both of you barely containing your laughter. Rustyn, however, remained completely serious, his innocent eyes blinking up at his dad, waiting for an answer.
âA baby?â Drew repeated, trying to hide his amusement. âYou mean like a baby doll, Rusty?â
Rustyn shook his head quickly, his little brow furrowing in frustration. âNo, Dada,â he said with the kind of determination only a toddler could muster. âI want a real baby. A baby brother or a baby sister.â
You nearly choked on your coffee, coughing lightly as you set your mug down and stared at Drew in disbelief. Drew, still holding Rustyn, raised his eyebrows in surprise, clearly caught off guard.
âBuddy,â Drew began, trying to navigate the situation delicately, âthatâs⌠well, thatâs not something we can just get right away.â
Rustyn looked confused, his big eyes darting between you and Drew. âWhy not?â he asked, as if the concept of not being able to have a baby immediately was beyond comprehension.
You bit your lip, trying not to laugh at how earnest Rustyn sounded. It was clear that he had no idea how big of an ask this was. And yet, his innocence made the situation all the more adorable.
Drew glanced at you, his eyes pleading for backup. You took a deep breath, deciding to step in and explain.
âWell, sweetie,â you began, leaning forward slightly to meet Rustynâs gaze, âbabies take time. They donât just show up like toys or presents. Itâs something Mommy and Daddy have to decide together, and then we have to wait.â
Rustynâs expression softened slightly, but the determined look didnât leave his face. âBut I want one now,â he said, his voice filled with the kind of pure, heartfelt longing that made you want to scoop him up and promise him the world.
Drew chuckled softly, bouncing Rustyn gently on his lap. âI get that, bud,â he said, his tone affectionate but firm. âBut like Mommy said, babies take time.â
Rustyn pouted, his tiny lips forming a small frown as he crossed his arms over his chest. âI donât wanna wait,â he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
You exchanged another glance with Drew, both of you clearly realizing that this was only the beginning of the conversation. Rustyn wasnât the type to let things go easily, especially when he set his heart on something. And from the look on his face, it was clear that Rustyn had already decided that having a sibling was at the top of his list.
Drew sighed softly, leaning down to kiss the top of Rustynâs head. âHow about we talk about this later, okay? Letâs get through today first.â
Rustyn nodded reluctantly, though it was obvious he wasnât fully convinced. He slid off Drewâs lap and padded back into the living room, but not before turning back to you both with one last, pleading look.
âI really want a baby,â he said again, his voice full of hope.
You smiled, feeling your heart melt at his innocence. âWeâll think about it, baby,â you promised, knowing that this was going to be a long conversation.
As the days passed, Rustynâs request for a sibling didnât fade. In fact, it became a constant part of your conversationsâat the breakfast table, during bedtime stories, and even when you were out running errands. It seemed like everywhere Rustyn went, he found a way to bring up babies.
One day, while you were grocery shopping together, Rustyn spotted a woman pushing a stroller with a newborn inside. His eyes lit up instantly, and before you could stop him, he was tugging on your hand and pointing eagerly at the stroller.
âMommy, look! A baby!â Rustyn exclaimed, his voice full of excitement. âCan we get one too?â
You laughed softly, gently guiding him away from the woman and her baby, who thankfully hadnât heard him. âRustyn, sweetie, weâve talked about this,â you reminded him. âBabies donât just show up like that.â
Rustynâs face scrunched up in frustration, and he pouted. âBut I want one,â he said, his voice filled with longing.
You sighed, leaning down to kiss the top of his head. âI know you do, baby. But you have to be patient.â
Rustyn let out a small, frustrated sigh but nodded, clearly not happy with the answer. âOkay,â he mumbled, though you could tell he was still thinking about it.
The next time Rustyn brought up the topic was during a family dinner at Drewâs parentsâ house. You, Drew, Rustyn, and Drewâs parentsâTodd and Jodiâwere gathered around the table, enjoying a relaxed meal together. The conversation was light, filled with laughter and stories, until Rustyn, who had been playing with his food, suddenly spoke up.
âGigi?â Rustyn asked, his voice full of curiosity as he turned to Jodi.
Jodi smiled warmly at her grandson, always eager to listen to whatever was on his mind. âYes, sweetie?â
âCan I have a baby brother or sister?â Rustyn asked innocently, his wide blue eyes blinking up at her.
The room fell into a stunned silence as everyone processed Rustynâs question. Todd choked on his water, coughing lightly as he shot you and Drew an amused look. Jodiâs eyebrows shot up in surprise, but she quickly recovered, giving Rustyn a sweet smile.
âWell, Rusty, thatâs something youâll have to ask your mommy and daddy about,â Jodi said with a soft chuckle, clearly trying not to laugh.
âI already did,â Rustyn replied earnestly, his little face serious. âBut they said I have to wait. I donât wanna wait, Gigi. I want a baby now.â
Todd let out a loud laugh, clearly enjoying the conversation. âSounds like someoneâs eager to be a big brother, huh?â
Rustyn nodded vigorously, his little face lighting up with excitement. âYeah! Iâll share my toys and read them stories!â
You and Drew exchanged a look of amusement mixed with slight embarrassment. It was clear that Rustyn wasnât going to let this go anytime soon, and now he was dragging everyone else into his mission.
âWell, Rusty,â Drew began, his tone gentle but firm, âweâve talked about this, buddy. Babies take time, remember?â
Rustyn huffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he pouted. âBut I donât wanna wait.â
Jodi laughed softly, patting Rustynâs back. âPatience is a good thing to learn, Rusty,â she said kindly. âYouâll have to trust Mommy and Daddy to know when the time is right.â
Rustyn nodded, though he still didnât look completely satisfied. âOkay,â he mumbled, clearly frustrated by the lack of immediate results.
Todd chuckled, ruffling Rustynâs hair. âYouâll make a great big brother one day, kiddo.â
Rustynâs persistence didnât stop there. One evening, while the three of you were cuddled up on the couch watching a cartoon, Rustyn spotted a baby character on the screen. His eyes widened with excitement, and he turned to you and Drew, tugging on Drewâs sleeve.
âDada! Look! A baby!â Rustyn exclaimed, pointing at the TV. âCan we get one like that?â
Drew laughed, shaking his head as he wrapped his arm around Rustynâs shoulders. âRusty, weâve talked about this,â he said, his voice filled with amusement. âBabies donât work like that.â
âBut I want one,â Rustyn pouted, his big blue eyes looking up at Drew with a mix of confusion and determination. âIâll take care of them, I promise!â
You couldnât help but laugh softly, leaning in to kiss the top of Rustynâs head. âSweetheart, I know youâre excited about the idea of a baby. But you have to be patient, okay? Babies donât happen right away.â
Rustyn sighed dramatically, his tiny shoulders slumping as he settled back against Drewâs chest. âOkay,â he mumbled, though you could tell he was still thinking about it.
Drew gave you a playful look over Rustynâs head, his eyes twinkling with amusement. âLooks like weâre in trouble here,â he whispered, just loud enough for you to hear.
You grinned, shaking your head. âHeâs not going to let this go anytime soon, is he?â
Drew sighed softly, ruffling Rustynâs hair. âNope. Heâs determined. We might have to start planning.â
Rustyn perked up at the word âplanning,â his eyes wide with hope. âDoes that mean weâre getting a baby soon, Dada?â
Drew chuckled, pulling Rustyn into a hug. âMaybe, buddy. Maybe one day.â
Rustyn grinned, clearly satisfied with that answerâfor now. âOkay! I canât wait!â
That night, after Rustyn had finally fallen asleep, you and Drew sat together on the couch, reflecting on the dayâs events. Drew had his arm around your shoulders, and you leaned against him, both of you laughing softly at how persistent Rustyn had been about wanting a sibling.
âCan you believe how determined he is?â you asked, smiling as you snuggled closer to Drew. âHeâs never been this focused on anything before.â
Drew laughed, resting his chin on top of your head. âI know. Itâs pretty sweet, though. He just wants someone to share his world with.â
You smiled, nodding as you thought about Rustynâs pure heart. âHeâd make an amazing big brother,â you said softly, your voice filled with affection.
Drew squeezed your hand, his expression softening. âHe really would,â he agreed. âAnd, you know⌠I wouldnât mind giving him that one day.â
You looked up at Drew, your heart swelling with love. âOne day?â
Drew nodded, his smile warm and full of love. âYeah. I mean, weâve got a pretty great thing going here, donât we?â
You grinned, leaning up to kiss him softly. âWe do,â you whispered.
As you sat there in the quiet of the evening, wrapped up in each otherâs warmth, you couldnât help but think about the futureâthe possibility of growing your family even more. Rustynâs sweet persistence had sparked something in both of you, and though it might not happen right away, you knew that when the time was right, youâd be ready.
For now, though, you were more than happy to enjoy these momentsâthe love, the laughter, and the joy of having Rustyn in your life.

"Hi! Iâm Drew, and Iâm here withâ" Drew Starkey says, his voice full of warmth and excitement as he waves to the camera.
"Rustyn Starkey!" your son chirps in, his little face lighting up as he waves enthusiastically, nearly bouncing on his feet next to Drew.
Both of them turn toward the camera with wide smiles, clearly in sync, even though this is their first attempt at a cooking video. âAnd weâre here to make Mommyâs favorite dish!â they say in unison, clearly proud of themselves.
Sitting behind the camera, you canât help but chuckle softly. The two of them are absolutely adorable as they take on this challenge together. Drew is wearing a navy apron that you bought him, while Rustyn sports a matching mini apron you had custom-made for him, though his is already smudged with something suspiciously sticky. Youâre determined to let them handle this without your help, even if your fingers are already itching to jump in and offer guidance.
Drew claps his hands together. âOkay, buddy, first things first. What are we making today?â
Rustyn looks up at him with wide eyes and says, "Weâre making chicken parmesan for Mommy!"
Drew grins, nodding encouragingly. "Thatâs right! Mommy loves chicken parmesan, and weâre going to make the best version ever, right?"
âRight!â Rustyn pumps a tiny fist in the air, his excitement contagious.
Drew gestures to the ingredients spread out on the counter in front of them. "So, what do we need first?"
Rustyn, with all the seriousness of a professional chef, peers over the ingredients. His tiny hands hover above the raw chicken breasts for a moment before he declares, âWe need chicken!â
Drew laughs, impressed. "Exactly! We need the chicken first." He picks up the chicken breasts, holding them for the camera. "Weâve got these nice, fresh chicken breasts. Rustyn, should we season them first?"
Rustyn nods vigorously, already reaching for the salt. You canât help but lean forward, your heart pounding as you see him lift the shaker. Oh no, you think to yourself, but Drewâs calm voice pulls you back.
âOkay, Rustyn, just a little sprinkle of salt,â Drew says, his voice soft and patient as he gently helps guide Rustynâs hand.
Rustynâs face scrunches in concentration as he shakes the salt over the chicken, a little too much falling onto the first piece. But Drew laughs it off, shaking his head with a grin. âWell, Mommy does like her food seasoned!â
You smile behind the camera, trying not to laugh out loud. Thatâs one salty piece of chicken, you think, but you know itâll turn out just fine.
âNext, letâs add some pepper,â Drew instructs, handing Rustyn the pepper grinder. Together, they add just enough to the chicken, and your son is already beaming with pride.
âNow for the fun part,â Drew says, setting the seasoned chicken aside. âWeâre going to coat these in breadcrumbs, okay?â
Rustynâs eyes go wide with excitement. âCan I do it?â
âOf course, buddy! Iâll help you.â Drew sets up a little assembly line, showing Rustyn how to first dip the chicken in flour, then into a beaten egg, and finally into the breadcrumbs.
Rustynâs small hands eagerly take over, and with Drew guiding him, they begin the process. Flour goes everywhereâon the counter, on the floor, even on Rustynâs cheek. Drew just chuckles, shaking his head as he watches Rustyn dip the chicken into the egg, his focus intense.
âGreat job!â Drew praises as they coat the chicken breasts. He sneaks a glance over at you, throwing a playful grin your way. âMommy, I can see youâre dying to help over there, but weâve got this.â
You laugh softly but stay in your seat, biting your lip. They really do have this, you think, even if the kitchen looks like a flour bomb went off.
Once the chicken is fully coated in the breadcrumbs, Drew places them gently into a sizzling pan of oil. The sound of the chicken hitting the hot pan fills the kitchen, and Rustynâs eyes widen in amazement. âItâs cooking!â he exclaims.
Drew grins, flipping the chicken carefully. âYep, itâs cooking. Weâre almost there. You ready to help with the sauce?â
Rustyn nods excitedly, running over to the small pot where the tomato sauce is simmering on the stove. Drew, ever the responsible dad, holds his hand the whole time, making sure Rustyn is safe as he stirs the sauce carefully.
âGood job, buddy. Now, whatâs next?â Drew asks, looking over the recipe card you left for them.
âCheese!â Rustyn shouts, clearly proud that he remembered.
âThatâs right! Mommy loves extra cheese,â Drew laughs, reaching for the shredded mozzarella and parmesan. âLetâs sprinkle it on the chicken.â
Drew and Rustyn, working as the perfect team, cover the golden-brown chicken with a generous layer of cheese before sliding the dish into the oven to finish. The kitchen may be a mess of flour, breadcrumbs, and sauce splatters, but the smell of the chicken parmesan fills the air, and you feel your heart swell with happiness.
Rustyn turns to the camera with a big grin. âMommyâs gonna love it!â
âI sure hope so,â Drew says, laughing as he wraps an arm around Rustynâs shoulders. âNow we just wait for it to bake.â
A little while later, the oven dings, and the two chefs eagerly pull out their creation. The chicken is perfectly golden, with melted cheese bubbling on top, and Rustynâs excitement is palpable as Drew plates it carefully.
âAlright, Mommy, itâs your turn to try,â Drew says, motioning for you to come over.
You set the camera down, walking over to the counter where the finished dish sits. Rustyn hands you a fork, his face full of pride. âTaste it, Mommy! We made it just for you!â
You take a bite, and though the kitchen may be a mess and the seasoning might be a little heavy in spots, itâs absolutely perfect. Not because of how it tastes, but because of the love and effort that went into making it.
âDelicious,â you say with a warm smile, pulling both of them into a hug. âThis is the best chicken parmesan Iâve ever had.â
Rustyn beams, and Drew presses a soft kiss to your temple, his arm still wrapped around you. âWe did it, buddy,â Drew says, giving Rustyn a high-five.
As you pull back, your gaze shifts to the flour-covered counters and the sauce-splattered stove, but none of it matters. What matters is the beautiful moment the three of you shared. The laughter, the teamwork, and the love.
Rustyn looks up at you with wide eyes. âCan we make it again tomorrow?â
Drew laughs, shaking his head. âLetâs clean up first, buddy. Mommy might need a little break from our kitchen adventures.â
You laugh too, pulling them both in for another hug. âI think Iâll help next time, but you two did an amazing job.â
