Persona guy when he's happy (or at least when he's not feeling mentally insane)! His name is Rune!
Persona guy when he's insane! His name is Compass!
Rune goes by he/they pronouns, even though I go by she/they pronouns irl. Compass goes by he/they/it pronouns! Rune is basically me maintaining a normal mood, and Compass is when I feel insane-ish, from like, a bit of anger issues. Ish. Heh.

Okay, so people are saying Dream was tricking Tommy by suggesting Tubbo intentionally destroyed his compass. (when it was just a creeper accident)
But when Tommy was going to destroy his compass, Dream actively tried to stop him and told him to wait and it worked too! Tommy threw it through a nether portal.
(EDIT: Thank you to @tannin-tele who pointed out that Tommy didn't throw it into the portal! Big mistake on my part for thinking he did)
Also let’s keep in mind that Dream wasn’t there when the compass was accidently blown up, so he probably didn’t know what happened himself.
I know Dream (THE CHARACTER) has done some shitty things to Tommy but, I feel like he does care about Tommy to some degree.
