F/O - Touch Starved
imagine being with your f/o. are you the one who is touch starved? is it them? or maybe both of you are? in any case, imagine a relationship full of affection and words of affirmation. even the most stoic and emotionally-guarded of f/os need a hug every now and then.
having a bad day? don't really want to be held? that's completely okay! your f/o totally understands; hell, they have days like this of their own! even if your f/o is extremely observant and can tell you are guarding yourself as a defense mechanism, they won't push you until you are ready.
this is why your relationship works so well. there is so much love and communication involved.
imagine coming home after a long day of whatever it is you do; you desperately just want to rest your feet and crawl into bed. however, you can feel the prickling sensation crawling up your back and down your arms; you are silently craving a hug.
you sigh as you look at the clock; there is no way your f/o would be home at this point. even if they were, they'd likely be too busy to spare enough time to fulfill your current needs.
making your way towards the bedroom, you feel your breath hitch as arms slither around your waist. turning around to confront the intruder, the tension leaves your shoulders as you see the comforting face of your f/o!
"how are you feeling today?" is the first thing that leaves their mouth.
however, before you get a chance to respond, they gasp and begin to retract their arms back to themself.
"i'm sorry, my love. i should have asked before-"
refusing to let a moment pass, you grab their wrists with your hands, keeping them secure around your waist. the twinkle in your eye is all your f/o needs to see before coming a conclusion.
a soft chuckle leaves their chest, the sound instantly acting as a soother.
"i see....now then, tell me all about your day, honey. Let me make it better..."
Let's try this out, shall we?

It was dark out. Much too dark for a boy of his age to be out.
You'd been out for a walk sometime after 2am because of a nightmare. You get them fairly often and a walk usually helps you calm down.
This night however, something was different. Well most things were normal apart from the small boy you saw sitting by the corner shop, that was unusual.
Being a decent human being you decide to ask the small child what he's doing out so late.
However upon a closer look you see he has a split lip and is crying. You speed up slightly, not so much to frighten him but enough to get there faster. You crouch down infront of him and ask him, "Hey buddy, you okay?" All the boy does is nod in response, trying to stop his tears.
"Can you tell me how old you are?" The small boy holds up 5 red tipped, shaking fingers; clearly affected by the cold. He's much to young to be out here at this time.
"Well young man, do you know where your parents are?" A shake of his head, you sighed. "Do you know their names?" Another shake. Damn it. It seems you'd make a trip to the police station tonight.
Then a thought popped into your head. "Could you tell me how you hurt your lip?"
At that the boy froze. His eyes shot down to his feet, his long-ish hair flopping over his face and there was a small mumble.
"What was that? Sorry I didn't hear you." The boy spoke up a but this time, still looking downwards. "D daddy he- he smells funny. Mummy dosent like it, says he turns into a meanie."
Shit.
You knew exactly what he was referencing and knew if you ever met his father, that man would not survive the encounter.
"Well buddy, would it be okay if I called someone to pick you up? He's a friend of mine, a policeman, and he'll ask you a few questions about your parents and why you were at the shop tonight and then they'll take you somewhere to stay tonight. Does that sound okay?"
The boy looked up at you, thinking over what you were offering. Then without a word he nodded.
Relieved, you shuffled next to the child and pulled out your phone to call your friend.
As the phone is ringing you lean over and whisper to the child,
"It's going to be okay; we'll settle this."
Prompt #1,125
"It's going to be okay; we'll settle this,"
“Look, I know someone like you could never be interested in someone like me-”
“-What do you mean?”
They blinked. Heat roared beneath their skin.
“Tell me what you think you are,” the words came with something like a challenge, but the touch was soft. “And I’ll tell you what I see.”

“Whoa, take it easy there.”
“You really think you can handle this?”
“Wow, you look, uh…interesting.”
“Oh, come on, you’ll be fine.”
“You know I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Why would you go to all this trouble?”
“You’re incredibly persistent, I’ll give you that.”
“You don’t deserve this.”
“Close your eyes.”
“What are you doing under there?”
“You need to stop before someone gets hurt.”
“Where the fuck am I?”
“You look like you could use some help.”
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Hey, quit laughing!”
“Nope, no way, not a chance.”
“I’m fine, just tired.”
“Why did I even try?”
“You don’t scare me.”
“Hey there, sleepyhead.”
“I’d rather jump out a window, thanks.”
“You’re such a dork.”
“I can’t believe you!”
“Oh my god, your hands are freezing.”
“What did you expect?”
“Any chance I could get you to stop staring at me?”
“Can I pet your dog?”
“Holy shit.”
“Dude, it’s like three in the morning.”
“Hey, slow down!”
“Are you feeling alright?”
“It’s not my fault!”
“Dance with me.”
“Listen, I’m running on two hours of sleep here.”
“I can’t feel my toes.”
“You look absolutely stunning.”
“You sure you’re okay?”
“How are you so perfect?”
“I’ve never seen snow before.”
“I can’t tell if you’re joking or not.”
“Are you— are you afraid of thunder?”
“How did I get so lucky?”
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.”
“Would a hug help?”
“You’re safe, I promise.”
“Goddamn, that’s strong.”
“Babe, you’re shaking.”
“Okay, I know this looks bad…”
“Listen, don’t freak out, but there’s something moving on your arm.”
“I don’t want to go.”
