The two of you were to be wed after your 18 birthday. But before that could happen you were kidnapped. It was a huge point of gossip for his kingdom and yours. You were beloved by all after. And your family was heartbroken, especially since it was assumed you were dead. Your carriage was completely destroyed, the guards and horses dead, in all there was no evidence for them to believe you were alive.

Until Almost 10 years later there was a tip on your whereabouts. And word of children with. Turns out you were pregnant at the time of your kidnapping and it didn't take a genius to see who the father way.

Once found don't expect any freedom.

Like seriously, in your kingdom you'll have atleast 10 guards with you at all to and 7 maids skilled in hand to hand combat.

But I digress, you know he means well and after catching up with Felix you also know he's lost a lot of people near and dear to him and has be betrayed.

Only once the two of you are married(in secret)and your twins gain legitimacy does he allow you to explore the palaces like the old days.

But for some reason your heart clenches whenever you see the Ruby palace.

Claude assures you that no one important lives there, meaning mistresses.

But then you see a head of blonde hair walking around

You saw Athanasia before Claude did. But she didn't see you. You just watched in curiously as she hid bags in the ground.

She reminded you of a puppy in all honesty. And only once she's gone do you dig it back up to see it's filled with treasure

"What the hell is a baby doing with all this?"

You found the young girl quite cute and mentally promised to introduce yourself next time.

The next time you see her, you were playing with your twins outside of Claude's palace. The ball ended up going to far.

Humming softly to yourself you turned the corner to see Felix and Claude glaring down at something small.

You threw the ball toward your kids and then approached.

When you saw the familiar head of blonde hair you giggled and smiled.

"Well hello there little one. It seems we meet again."

At this point another bag of treasure drops from under her skirt causing you laugh.

"And I see you're hiding treasure once more. I do wonder what for though."

Athanasia looks at you in both fear and awe. "I like shiny things."

"You do don't you?" You giggled as you leaned down to pick the young girl up. You held her with such care that Athanasia couldn't help but to mold into you, using your chest as a head rest.

"Are you an angel"

"No, my love. But it seems like you're quite the flirt"

Claude watches as you talk to Athanasia in both shock and relief. He wanted to forget her and her mother so much, but seeing you hold the young princess and talk to her so lovingly made him realize he didn't have to.

Athy later finds out that you're her step mother and is shocked at the additional family members.

On Athy's 6th birthday is when you officially ask to be her mother. But you didn't do it in public, so it didn't seem like she was being pressured.

"I know you have a mother near and dear to your heart. And by no means am I trying to replace her, but I wish to be your mother as well if you'll allow it."

The little girl cried so hard your dress was completely soaked.

You cried a little too

But it was unbeknownst to you that Claude was listening from outside the door, a lone tear escaping him.

He never expected his life to turn out like this. But he was happy nonetheless, a feeling he hasn't felt in almost 7 years.

Now you're a big, whole, family

But that doesn't mean you're not under lock and key.

The twins can move around as they please with Athy but you weren't allowed out without escorts and guards.

Even worse if the palace had visitors.

It wasn't until the twins debutant ball did your existence become known to outsiders. You and Claude danced with all your kids. Much to the shock of the nobles present.

Now that the existence of an Empress is known security is even stronger than before, but you are able to roam as you please.

All in all if you can get passed the obvious overprotective, possessive, and obsessive nature of Claude once your back at his side then this new chapter of your life is quite happy.

Claude watched with bewildered eyes as he stared down at your mezzanine tail. The emperor had seen many things, but this wasn’t one of them. Claude had heard stories about mermaids. They were beautiful creatures of the sea and the woman that sat before him on the sand beach definitely lived up to that.

Claude thought back to how he got into this situation. How he was face to face with a real-life mermaid. It all started when he got aboard a ship with his daughter Athanasia, to meet up with someone from another country. The next thing he knew there was a raging storm and the ship began sneaking rapidly. After that, he woke up on a nearby beach with a beautiful woman staring with curiosity at the emperor. But soon the thought of Athanasia safety was now swirling in his mind. Was the young girl okay, is she hurt or worse dead? But as quickly as those thoughts came they went. “If you’re worried about the young girl, then don’t be” you spoke up, reassuring the man. That had been the first time Claude had ever heard your voice and like your appearance, it was as well beautiful. “She’s safe, I promise” you explained and after that it went back to silence.

After finding out that his daughter was safe he went back to staring at your tail. It was like no other thing he had ever laid eyes on. Your scales glistened in the sunset, it was a lovely shade of F/C, your skin was also littered with few scales. On your chest were a pair of seashells covering your breasts. Claude's eyes then landed on your face and that was somewhere he could never look away from. Your eyes were so mundane, yet fascinating at the same time. It held so much tenderness that he had only seen that in a couple of people. Not many people were that kind nowadays. They are all selfish, only caring about money or their selves. And Claude was being honest, he probably would have ended up like those people, if it wasn’t for his daughter.

Claude was about to ask for your name when both your ears heard a distant shout. Turning around, there far-off was Athanasia shouting out for him as she ran towards her father, nearly tripping a couple of times on the sandy beach. Your eyes widened in fear at the sight of the human girl. It was already risky for one human to see you, but two! Claude noticed the panic in your eyes. He went and grabbed your hand for reassurance, explaining to you his daughter would do no harm towards you. “I promise, she won’t hurt you” he tries explaining to you, but your fear was clouding your mind.

You began pushing yourself towards the sea frantically and with someone with no legs you quit quick. In a matter of seconds, you were back in the sea, swimming off back home and all Claude could do was watch. Athanasia stopped beside her father trying to catch her breath.

“W-was th-that a-, “ she said in between breaths.

“Yep” the man said looking down at the sand, but something catches his eye. It was a Sophia necklace. Picking it up, Claude began examining the object. It was obvious that it belonged to you, but what really made him scratch his head was, if you left it here on purpose or by accident. But either way, he knew you would be back for it, so next time he sees you he could finally ask the name of his saviour.

Claude starts off finding you to be one of the most frustrating people he's ever interacted with particularly because you're flirtatious nature reminds him of Anastacius and it bothers him to no end

He's used to women being flirtatious because he's emperor and it's in theory within their best interests to try and get as close to him as possible but men being flirtatious irks him all too much more because you would think that you'd have a more important role to fill rather than going around a 'seducing people' as he would put it

However, he does something akin to forcing himself to put up with you because, as a sorcerer, your magical prowess, even if you don't have as much mana as him, far surpasses his as it being your life's work and it's not advisable for the emperor to be on bad terms with someone with significant magical knowledge

He does, however, make it plainly clear to you that he does not want you within 20 feet of him. Preferably more though you simply don't listen to him when he tells you to step back and decide to get further into his space until he's forced to threaten you

Unfortunately he's serious about his threats and the only thing stopping him a large amount of the time is Felix's intervention

He only gets further annoyed by your presence when you start staying in the palace for some diplomatic reason or another to keep up relations between the empire and magic tower (he doesn't see the point with Lucas already staying but he knows that he can't convince you otherwise)

When day time work melds into the night, he'll find himself going to your chambers and entering (naturally, without knocking)

When he finds you sitting by the window, too caught up in your thoughts with an expression that he recognises on himself to hear him, he just leaves

It never really leave his mind but he avoids trying to find you when he knows that you would be alone. It feels too familiar to him and he doesn't like it. He's seen many that he would consider competent men fall to their thoughts and he doesn't like the idea of you 'lying' to him and hiding other feelings

Your incessant attempts to bother him for not meeting you so often only push him further down that road. What he doesn't realise is that this need to find out why you would dare lie to him becomes a need to make you honest to him in every way possible

He wants to know why you look so melancholy, yes, but with it comes him wanting to know why you're so flirty, why you're so playful, how he can make your facade of a smirk into an actual smile. Though of course he certainly isn't going to make that process easy for you

He still needs to get back at you for any times that you had successfully flustered him. They're far and few, yes, but he's certainly going to make them out to be much bigger than they are

WMMAP Crack!AU

When Athanasia goes into coma the first time, there’s a brief moment where she wakes up, before Claude puts her to sleep because he doesn’t like how she was crying from the pain. Now I can’t help but imagine that Athanasia kept waking up after that (before Lucas shows up), but she says the most random things; mostly her quoting pop culture media and memes from her time in Korea. Imagine how everyone would react, especially if Athanasia’s humor gets darker.

I think he could see that she was already terrified, and as such wouldn’t answer any of his questions. So he kneels down to at/just below her level so he wouldn’t intimidate her quite as badly. Though I’m not quite sure how well that works considering the very next thing Claude does is pick up Athy and then dump her into Felix’s arms lmao.

OH NOW THIS!!! THIS HERE!!!

I didn't notice it at first but Claude went from tilting her chin up to him while standing before he knelt to match her height, actually, a little lower than her height, effectively having her look down at him which must almost never happen except for Felix guarding him while he's sitting down.

He could have continued to intimidate her from above with his height but chose to stoop down to her instead and Idk about y'all but decided to kneel...and for what??? To intimidate her close up?? To see something?? *rips out hair*
