“A little wildfire is better than no fire”
- Smith Wigglesworth
Smith Wigglesworth is saying that it is better to be a Christian who breaks from the silent and tolerant conformity, and be emotional and passionate and inspired and on Fire and make mistakes. Rather than being a Christian who lives by rules and ends up doing nothing with their Faith. Better to heal with a punch, than to never been able to heal at all. To be an unconventional Christian with the faith and Fire, than be conventional and have no fire to spark anything in anyone. Rather have that desire, hunger, inspiration, when you walk into the church, into a place; otherwise don’t walk in or anywhere at all!
God does not live through your perfection,
He lives through your Discipline.
Deuteronomy 23:21-23 hitting me with another conviction and revelation 🧡😭🙏
I finished reading Deuteronomy, and I’m truly grateful that God has given me the determination to finish the first 5 books, and begin my Bible study over again.
What really stood out to me throughout Deuteronomy, was the elaborate covenants, promises, and curses God commanded through Moses to speak to the Israelites. In chapter 28, God lists 14 blessings to obeying Him and keeping His laws and commands, and 72 curses for disobeying Him and going on your own way. And the funniest but significant part of it all, is in Chapter 32, when God tells Moses that Israel will disobey Him once they go into the promised land. God knows they will worship false-gods, and be greedy, and promiscuous, and blameless: yet He still gives the commandments and laws to them, because He loves Israel. He loves his people. He has set them apart, on His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He even set Joshua aside to lead this generation of God’s people, who were constantly bickering, complaining, and distrusting the Lord. He chose Joshua for prophetic inheritance, laid on by Moses.
God knew who these people were, and Moses described them in Chapter 31, as “what rebels they are, stubborn, willful…” and God still allowed them (the next generation after 40 years) to know they can thrive and live abundantly in the land of Canaan, if they love God with all their hearts. He left them with evidence, with documents of His commandments, curses and promises. He told Moses to teach them the Song in Chapter 32.
God performs miracles, and signs, and wonders, and terrible curses on the enemies of Israel; but God was not hesitating on reminding them, that just as He liberated them, He can hand them over to their enemies. And that’s why the Israelites do to themselves, they hand themselves over to the curses and wrath of nations who wanted to kill them - why? Because they abandoned God, and God never left them, He looked the other way. He knew He was going to be as hurt and angered with them, told in Chapter 32, like in the Books of Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers: and still He loves them.
What I took away was the complexity and heart of God’s covenants. He fulfills covenants with love, and commands, but it is the heart of His people, He also knows, who will not fulfill the covenants as He desires. He saved Israel, and spared Israel, with His Grace; and only Moses, could return the favor because He knew God as friends know each other. And Moses failed as well, He struck the rock instead of speaking to it, completely disregarding the faith he should’ve demonstrated in God.
God knows the hearts of His people, yet He also knows the failures of His people. He doesn’t let them go astray without showing that there’s a choice: you follow and obey, and act on my commandments and promises, you know the blessings I will provide. You disobey, and choose to disregard the Lord your God, who has redeemed you, you know the curses that will fall on you and your children.
I want to go into more detail but I think I’ve summarized what I mostly grasp on the surface level of Deuteronomy and the 5 Books of Moses. I cannot wait to study further and see what the Rhema of the Word will reveal to me, more deeply and spiritually.
I want to make note of my blog: it is open to everyone who wishes to follow and learn about Christ. Believers and unbelievers alike! I welcome those who own a blog from a different religion, post about nsfw, or just a general blog enjoying tumblr. I pray my blog is a gateway for you to see the love and goodness of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior and King! I do ask, that you do not repost or involve my blog to further anything of inappropriate agendas, false preachings, and blasphemes. I will block, and report, you if I do feel uncomfortable or the above boundaries have been violated; otherwise, scroll through and remember Jesus loves you! 💟✝️
God, unlike any other gods, is an authority that cannot be questioned and reasoned with. Because everything He has said, and done, has been demonstrated to the fullest truth. Whatever, ‘evidence’ you are asked to provide or encounter with about the Holy Trinity, is an attempt to convince you and the demonic powers that your God is not the only one with power. Yes there are other gods, false gods, heretic gods, demonic gods, but if we always look back, and profess the scripture as if it's part of the beats of our heart, the scorching lips will as quickly run out of breath. Their attempt of debate will be futile, (if the Lord tells you to speak in such ‘debates’) as their words have no constant or perfect truth. Only confusion; and in confusion, there is only room for pride and fear. Our God is the only true God, the all powerful, the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-Beginning and End, and all-miracle working God. To debate or rationalize Him, would be faithlessness in its most evil form yet.
Change does not come human ability, but the Holy Spirit’s. Change of one’s heart does not come from human empathy, or human goodness, or human guilt, nor human kindness, it comes from the Holy Spirit’s. He can demonstrate Himself, the Fruits of The Spirit, through one into another person. Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” It takes another kind of demonstration, to change the human heart. Another kind of love, of rightness, of might, to make someone anew. Therefore, no amount of psychology or behavioral therapy, or self-help, will explain or demonstrate what God can only do. And I’m not saying therapy can’t help people, but matters of the mind can not change the heart, until the heart is changed and so then will the mind. Amen.
If me loving Jesus makes you uncomfortable, be uncomfortable.
UNSHAMED AND ETERNALLY SAVED BY JESUS CHRIST 🩷✨📣
Does anybody else (christians) get extremely bored when they are online, watching videos or movies, or just eating a meal, and then just go straight to reading your Bible? I’m experiencing this and honestly, it reminds me of how much this world isn’t our home, and my Spirit is literally yearning and thirsting for God. I’ve been sick for little over a week, and haven’t been able to fast, but I am overeating every time I’m bored and haven’t read my Bible. I was watching a kiddies animation show and then decided, I don’t want this, and then picked up my Bible and continued reading Judges. The Spirit man is wonderful and hungry personality! 😂✨🤍
The Book of Judges, is so intricate and frustrating! Because it demonstrates the depth of stubbornness and waywardness of the Israelites! God appointed judges (individuals who demonstrated the law of God among the Israelites) to redeem Israel from their enemies, time after time; because they only came to God when they were subdued or oppressed. Now God is merciful but He reminded the Israelites He will let them give themselves over to their own evil! And what’s even more amazing is the final line in Judges 21:25, “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.” All through Moses’ and Joshua’s time, God told them to keep His commands and decrees. To not worship or follow the gods of the land, or fear the kings of the cities they inherited. Nor make covenants with the Canaanites. Yet they did what they saw fit. Not what God would see fit. What they saw fit. And they saw fit to defeat, famine, and idolatry. A people who are beloved and rescued by God, turn away from Him, to live disobediently in the land God gave them, with each to his own inheritance and clan! Just see how willfulness is a thing of the heart!
Me: reads my Bible productively and studies it
Spiritual attack 5 mins later: ✨INSOMNIA!✨
God will take you out of your comfort zone, to show you the extent His will go.
You can’t sugarcoat the Bible; meaning you can’t sugarcoat the truth. You shouldn’t rob people of the flavor of God because you’re too scared to share the salt.
This might be a controversial take, but what opinion isn’t. As a Christian and older sister, I think video games are not suitable nor should be easily accessible to children under the ages of 16. Why do I say this? Well because I’ve watched someone close to me suffer emotional abuse and idolatry unlike anything, and had to sit aside and watch it wreck her social and personal life. It has also negatively impacted me, but I’m not going to dwell on that.
Please understand, I enjoy gaming. I watch gameplays and love to see the hard work and joys of people in the gaming community. Yet I’m also aware of the dark side of it all. And what sickens me, is the intellectual, and emotional, deficit I’ve seen develop in the gaming community, in younger children. There’s no separation anymore from reality and fiction, it’s the same as seeing children on TikTok and Instagram post videos and ‘comedic’ content.
I was born in 2005, I’ve lived through every social ‘cringe’ and trend. I’ve lived through the transition of ‘vintage to digital’ with dvds and vhs going extinct. I’m living through the all digital/online era, and marketed lifestyle of overconsumption. I’m living and witnessing it everyday, from my phone, to my personal home life. And I can’t express how much I despise it all. While gaming and social media are tools, they’ve now been developed to fulfill every gap in one’s life where people, hobbies, and emotional grit, and perspective, should’ve developed.
We are normalizing antisocial behaviors, speech disorders (medical and social), intellectual disabilities and incapacitation to critically think. Mental and emotional problems, relating to oneself and their abilities, is far more stark than it was over the last 4 decades. Insecurity isn’t not going to exist, but we are sitting in the generation(s), where it’s necessary to their content and online life. Where ‘rotting’ and depression are a more reasonable way of life, rather than seeking help and support.
And if people want to say “Generation Alpha is just different, and you can’t appreciate that.” You’re right, I can’t appreciate a generation that has the lowest EQ, highest bullying rate, and higher screen dependency, I’ve seen from my childhood to my teenhood, and now young adulthood. Generation Alpha, and even adults today from Gen Z or Gen XY, are all victims from our society’s rapid despondency and dehumanization.
You cannot convince me, that the same video game or gaming platform a child plays for 7+ hours a day does not affect their ability to comprehend beyond online social queues. You cannot convince me that there isn’t a problem if games that are meant to inspire and develop creativity, are now the same triggers to children developing a hatred of school and their lives, if the game is taken away or they lost in it. You cannot convince me Generation Alpha, and their adults, have a problem with cyber bullying and TikTok syndrome - where every moment is a clip worth sharing online, and not being experienced as genuine human memory.
I don’t need to add statistics to my argument, because the whole internet is filled with enough articles to prove my point. Scroll long enough on Instagram and you’ll see thousands of people complaining about AI and the algorithm and screen time. People posting videos about articles that have spoken, and further elaborated (scientifically) on my point. I don’t say any of this to shame the gaming community or Generation Alpha, or any adults. I’m sharing a conclusion I’ve drawn as a Christian and young woman, that has a younger sister who is victim to this everyday.
I want to reach out and speak about this. Not from a political, or social perspective, but from a human and child perspective. Because there’s a huge need for human connection and responsibility over these online platforms and children’s development. And there needs to be an even larger need to bring God into this problem, to break down familiar idols that strip away children’s creativity and identity, that He created in each of them with a purpose and plan! We need to pray and take spiritual and physical action against this play satan has over the online world. Making it more enticing and worth living for, than the one our Savior shed His blood for!
Children are the future, yet they cannot see it beyond their screens. Children cannot see their lives beyond the blue and white, when it’s meant to be in the rainbow. Games aren’t necessarily evil, but the characters they build in our children can turn out that way. We need to bring back the life in their eyes, and hands and feet and spirits; because their lives are more precious than any amount of likes, follows, and XP, they will ever earn at their fingertips.
“We’re living in the Hunger Games. Suzanne Collins told a prophecy.” While I don’t disagree with the fact our society is comprising certain elements of the Hunger Games, have you considered we’re living out the revelations of the New Testament?
Cooking is such a joyful skill! It’s a love language of God’s creations being used to make others warm and fed! To make them feel important and cared about! It’s also a quiet way to pray and worship God for His Grace and abundance in our lives!
I sometimes feel like… I’m always saying the wrong thing. And I don’t know how to stop feeling like this.
Christians listen to me when I say this. Don’t entertain any curiosity or urge to look into a horror movie, or its plot, or even watch brief scenes in it. I truly and wholeheartedly believe, that spirits can pass through from the movie: like the spirit of fear. I’m currently battling it right now because of a horror movie I already had nightmares and fears of over two years ago from its trailer, and now the movie is on Netflix and I saw clips of it and now my spirit is shaking. Your eyes are the light into your spirit, don’t feed it darkness because of a curiosity or Google search.
im a christian girl can I do cosplays?
As Christians, we are to practice modesty and reflect the life of Christ in holiness in our thoughts, mind, and actions. Cosplaying isn’t evil necessarily, contrary to what ‘woke’ or traditionalists imply. It’s quite fun, and I myself would love to cosplay: my only advice as one Christian girl to another, is to cosplay characters that don’t have immodest or demonic dressings. Don’t cosplay demons or characters that wear very revealing and fan-service intentional costumes, or clothes with sigils, crystals, and demonic symbols. As long as you can also apply the cosplay inwardly to not replicating any of the character’s vulgarity and sinful behaviors, and without idolizing yourself in the animated persona, cosplaying can be like wearing your own clothes everyday. It can be fun, playful, and still honoring to your relationship with Christ. 🎀
Can I enjoy movies, tv shows and certain characters while living for Christ?
I’ve been thinking about this since Saturday evening. I was watching the first two Deadpool movies, and just saw Deadpool and Wolverine yesterday, and something in my Spirit became upset. Even though I like Marvel, and I appreciate the comedy and action of Deadpool, it doesn’t mean I agree with his character and his morals. I don’t appreciate his profanity, or using God’s name in vain, and most of the grotesque sexual undertones of his jokes. Even though I like his character and storyline, I don’t like him. I don’t deny I am a fan of the films because it’s a break from what the Marvel universe is, but I try not to idolize him over my love for God. I appreciate the creativity of his character, and even the effort put into the franchise by the directors, producers and writers, but it shouldn’t desensitize me from the reality that it’s still vulgar and profane.
I like Deadpool, but I don’t like Deadpool. If you understand what I mean.
I found that, even though you may like something, you must not like it more than the Holy Spirit’s discipline. You can appreciate something, without agreeing with it. You can watch things by your own volition, but don’t watch it if it desensitizes your Spirit and obedience to God. Remember your eyes are the lamp into your Spirit, this goes for your ears as well.
I also want to make mention that a lot of Christians watched the Deadpool and Wolverine movie and said it blasphemes against Christ. Kind reminder that, Deadpool on multiple occasions has used God’s name in vain, so if you didn’t pick it up then that he has little regard to respecting Christ and God, you’re taking offense - at first- in the wrong film. Second, when he referred to himself as “Marvel Jesus”, I was uncomfortable too at first, but then I realized that while it may come across as a joke, the writer’s inadvertently admitted that only Jesus has the power to save anyone, and this case, Wade Wilson needed that kind of power to save his universe and the people he loved. So by my understanding it wasn’t an offense meant to be taken, it was an off-putting compliment essentially. Next, Wolverine wasn’t crucified the way Christ was, he was nailed to an X as a form of torture to the defeat of the X-men in the Apocalyptic time, with the sea of skulls being the millions of deaths of people and mutants. Christ saved us, by punishment and humiliation. Wolverine was tortured because he couldn’t save anyone.
I’m not making excuses as a Christian, I saw these images at first and also took offense, even anxiety, towards them. But once I let myself calm down and actually evaluate the intention and purpose of those images, I realized that I’m taking offense to the wrong things. As Christians, we are so eager and busy to defend Christ, and even get angry toward persons and things that do blaspheme Christ, that we misdirect the same offense towards other things that we completely miss the true message or intention of. We live in an insensitive sinful world, that’s sensitive to the Holy things of God. If we can practice catching ourselves out, as quickly as we are to catch others out in their wrong, I think we’d be a lot more disciplined and obedient to God. But we’re not. That’s why we need God and His son to guide us. To teach us. To call us out on our poor offenses against the Holy Spirit. To make the tough choices and reflections on what we desire and enjoy. Yes, we have a choice everyday, to live and Glorify God, and to do what we like. But it doesn’t work that way, you can’t drink from the cup of demons and the cup of Christ. You can’t say you love God but then hate people when they make characters or movies swear against Him. You can’t love God and be eager to love the world and its temporary pleasures. You can’t love God and hate correction. You can’t love God and ignore only the minor things that build you closer to Him, or tear you away from Him.
I can feel in my Spirit, yes I do like Deadpool but I know I can’t love it and physically I can’t because there’s just as much sin in it as there is entertainment in it. Just like Spider-man, I like Spider-man, but I can’t love it more than I love God. More than I love Jesus. And I need to honor that because my life and love is for God, and God only. I can’t compromise my purpose in God, for my pleasure in the creative.
