Reasons not to get a chameleon:

most of them are taken from the wild as they hate being in captivity

they would rather die than live in captivity (no seriously they will straight up die even if you do everything right)

they need very large ventilated cages which are somehow even more expensive than glass ones???

it's very hard to bond with them cuz of their shy 'fuck off' personality

they need live food like crickets cuz meal worms are not good enough for them

you need high humidity which is kinda hard to get in a ventilated cage

also they just suck in general so unless you would change your entire life to have a chameleon they do not make good pets
