People in the West often do not understand about foods that build heat in the body and food that have a cooling effect. Subconsciously they do, when they gravitate towards certain foods in winter, like Squash or Cinnamon. But people often do not have a deep-down understanding. The Chinese on the other hand are masters of this. Different seasons require different food. Listen to our bodies and discern what it is saying. We can learn from centuries of wisdom. If you are feeling cold this winter, try these foods. They will add some much-needed warmth. During summer you can have cooling foods like cucumber. But that list is for another day.

Admittedly this all sits on bed of a Basmati rice (high carbs but a low 52 glycemic index) but it's healthy nevertheless. The center piece is a Sri Lankan Lime Pickle (healthy gut bacteria) which you can find in most Indian stores. Of course, some stir fried green beans with a pinch of Ceylon Cinnamon (cleans up the stomach of bad bacteria), garlic and chili oil to add a lovely savory taste. I got sardines (338% DV of B12) from a can, but stir fried it quickly in the olive oil it came in, with some chopped onions to add extra zest. The green stuff is the Collard greens (858% Vitamin K) finely chopped and quickly pan fried in coconut oil, a dash of turmeric (blood sugar control) and grated coconut. And course some roasted yellow bell pepper (157% DV Vitamin C) infused with sesame oil and our signature Cinnamon red lentil curry infused with Ceylon Cinnamon, turmeric, curry leaves (blood sugar control), black mustard seeds, cumin powder and coconut milk. All in all, pretty healthy wouldn't you say?

Try this healthy delicious cream of tomato soup with Ceylon Cinnamon to reduce the tartness and add a natural sweetness with zero sweetness. Cinnamon is known as a sweet spice and tempers the acidity of the tomatoes. We don't like flour in our soup so we avoided that and it works. Then we ramped it up with fresh garlic, dried basil and Oregano. It's simple really.

They say laughter is the best medicine. With the Corona virus people are panicking. My friends in Hong Kong are calling and asking me to send face masks because they have run out. Face masks don't really help in my opinion. Washing hands helps and not using public toilets is a good idea. Restrict travel if you can. Maybe avoid restaurants or public places. Work from home if you can.

It’s that time of the year. Valentine’s day. Legend has it that Emperor Nero of Rome burned a year's worth of the city's supply of Cinnamon at the funeral for his wife Poppaea Sabina in AD 65. Even the Bible makes mention of Cinnamon in proverb 7:17 when it says " "I have sprinkled my bed With myrrh, aloes and cinnamon ".
The most famous perfumes use Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Oil in their formulations. For example, the extremely popular Men's 1 Million Eau de Toilette Spray by Paco Rabanne uses Cinnamon. High quality Cinnamon Oil has properties that mixes with other ingredients to create a magical aroma with staying power. Only fractions are used, but that is enough. It gives it a certain ‘’Je ne sais quoi ‘’ as the French say. Cinnamon relaxes people. It calms you down and uplifts the spirit. What better ingredients for romance right?
Try our Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Oil in an ultrasonic diffuser when you want a beautiful evening with your significant other. The trick is to use fractions. Like 3 drops with half a cup of water. Use too much and the effect is ruined. It should be very subtle as the world’s best perfumers have discovered. Dilute it at 1% with water in a spray mister bottle and spray on the carpets in your car or around the house. You will find it improves your mood. Makes you happier and receptive to new ideas and possibilities.
And we sell best Cinnamon Oil, money can buy with 84.3% Cinnamaldehyde (currently), the magical ingredient that gives it the power. Sugar, the bane of our existence, right? It’s one thing to have a lovely cake or treat yourself to some fruit and ice cream. But it’s another thing when it creeps into normal food. Even if we completely eliminate processed foods loaded with sugar it lurks in many common recipes. Many of the popular Asian foods are using huge amounts of sugar, especially Korean and Thai food. Even the Chinese and Japanese cuisine not traditionally known for adding sugar to their recipes are doing it. An easy solution is to use Ceylon Cinnamon as a sugar substitute. With the exception of recipes that requires a fermentation which requires real sugar for bacteria to activate the fermentation process, Ceylon Cinnamon adds the sweetness that certain recipes call for. Like Thai Basil eggplant, Korean minced beef bowl, Chinese minced pork and Vietnamese lemongrass chicken just to name a few. Even in pastries you can add Ceylon Cinnamon and cut down on the sugar. Not to worry your recipes will not taste like cinnamon. That is the beauty of Ceylon Cinnamon unlike the more pungent and strong Cassia type cinnamon. Ceylon Cinnamon is mild, subtle, refined and fragrant and never takes center stage. It works in the background to create a whole. Of course, that is not to say it does not take center stage in a lovely butter cake or a scone in terms of an incredible aroma. It does. But in terms of taste think of it like adding Vanilla to a recipe. You would not put too much vanilla into a recipe, right? The approach is subtle and more nuanced with just the right amount to add a certain “ Je ne sais quoi ” to your recipes.

Sometimes we want a baked scone. The problem is the sugar and flour. Adding 2 teaspoons of sugar will scrub the guilt of sugar and flour. It adds a deeper flavor and aroma. Think of it as the Chinese concept of Yin and Yang. Balance the sugar with Ceylon Cinnamon which reduces the effect of sugar. Now you can have your scone and eat it too. Mind you this is an American scone which has more sugar and not a British scone which has less sugar so they can put jam on top. Check out the recipe here https://www.cinnamonvogue.com/cinnamon_scones.html
Einstein was right. Knowledge is limited. Imagination is everything. Take Ceylon Cinnamon. First it was used a preservative because in ancient times we didn’t have refrigerators. Adding Ceylon Cinnamon allowed people to keep food from spoiling for longer. Then people discovered mixing it with citrus like orange, lemon and lime added a wonderful taste combination. More imagination and experimentation led to the discovery it works very well with spices like ginger, cumin, coriander, anise #cloves #cardamom, turmeric and nutmeg. Creating recipes with deep multi layered flavors. In Mexico they started combining it with chocolate and started making Cinnamon stick tea. And more imagination lead to the discovery it has powerful health properties. People in cold climates discovered it keeps you warm in winter. Others discovered the scent of Ceylon cinnamon Bark Oil improves the mood and reduces irritability. More imagination led to the discovery that Ceylon Cinnamon is a wonderful sugar substitute, negating the need to use so much sugar. What can your imagination discover about Ceylon Cinnamon?

Have you ever noticed a lot of recipes have sugar in them? Don’t get me wrong. A little bit of sugar does add to the taste of many recipes. I made this beef broccoli without the sugar and it was horrible. Next time however I added ½ teaspoon of Ceylon Cinnamon powder instead of sugar and the result was the classic taste of the beef broccoli. In dare say it was perhaps even better. You see Ceylon Cinnamon makes things sweeter, especially beef. It has zero sugar. It also adds to a deeper complex flavor. Just a little mind you. Don’t overdo it. Even better Ceylon Cinnamon is known to reduce blood sugar. A bit strange right? How can it make things taste sweet but also reduce blood sugar? In addition to its special properties, it does this by delaying gastric emptying which has a secondary benefit. Better nutrient absorption. And the final benefit? Adding a pinch of Ceylon Cinnamon to beef helps it brown and give it nice rich color.

Do you know Cinnamon and Orange go well together. Can you suggest a recipe that combines orange with Cinnamon?
Try this. Get some Pork Belly, marinate with Ceylon Cinnamon powder, Hungarian Paprika and salt and pan fry in coconut oil and serve over angel hair pasta with lots of vegetables. An easy family meal. The Ceylon Cinnamon and Hungarian Paprika really amps up the taste. Better than store bought bacon. I add plenty of extra salt because Pork being a bland meat needs more salt and some of it falls away when frying. Yes, there is this belief that too much salt is bad for you but the thing is your salt intake per portion size will still be still under the recommended daily levels. It’s not like you will be eating a huge portion of Pork Belly, right? I would rather put extra salt in the Pork to give it that fabulous taste and have less salt (or zero salt) in the vegetables and the pasta. That combination is much better. The funny thing is salty Pork Belly makes you eat less meat and more of the vegetables and pasta. Then you can go one further and add more vegetables than pasta. A great way to trick the kids to eat their vegetables.

Add pinch of Ceylon Cinnamon to you cooking. It will make you a better chef.
I have five squirrels that come to visit me: Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Gus, and Cheatah. The problem is they bury the walnuts I give them in my potted plants and then dig them up. Absolute rascals! The cheekiness of it! Biting the hand that feeds them. Well, the best way to deter them is to spray some Ceylon Cinnamon Leaf Oil, diluted to 10% with water, on the topsoil. Do not use the more expensive Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Oil. The much cheaper Ceylon Cinnamon Leaf Oil is better here because it has a harsher aroma. Not to worry, it will not damage your plants when diluted. You have to apply a thin layer to the topsoil twice a week or so. Okay, I cheat sometimes. Sometimes I apply it undiluted because I’m a bit lazy. That’s okay as long as you don’t spray any plant leaves because, at 100%, the Cinnamon Oil will burn the plant leaves. I tried applying the Cinnamon Leaf Oil on the edge of the planters, but this way it evaporated too fast. It is best to apply it to the top layer of soil. Once they get used to it (in about two weeks), you can apply it sporadically. Then the squirrels and other bugs will get the message: Do not dig up your plants.

Watching the presidential debate? Then you must have a cup of Ceylon Cinnamon tea before, during and after. Our tea will keep you calm, rational and gain the ability to cut through the smoke. It will prevent a melt down and say things that might make you look utterly foolish no matter what side you are. Politicians know to divide and conquer. We fall for it every time. Have a cup of Ceylon Cinnamon and relax. Keep your opinions to yourself and vote or not as you please.

The pork belly will keep you satiated because it’s energy-dense. The bok choy gave me my daily greens, and adding oil to the vegetables makes the nutrients more bioavailable. Basmati rice has a lower glycemic index than even brown rice, and a pinch of turmeric disinfects the rice and makes it look pretty. The carrots are good for my eyes, and the red bell pepper adds some vitamin C. Not bad, wouldn’t you say?"
