Everything Wrong With The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony
The issues are not that the actors were queer. The issues are that they made a perverted parody out of Christianity, and they were not family-friendly. The argument is that this was actually the portrayal of the Feast of Dionysus and that it was inclusive. If so, then why are there so many Christian art symbolisms that Christianity pioneered and became associated with? And queer or not, nothing excuses the inappropriateness to children that was displayed.
Christian art symbolisms were developed during the Renaissance, a time where not many people knew how to read. Over time, symmetrical dimensions became a staple, the color blue was associated as the holy color, and specifically holy figures had a sort of aura or halo around their heads. Enter the blue lady from the Opening Ceremony.
Literally, no one else had a big headdress on or a costume with that particular shade of blue, so she really sticks out. On top of that, she was seated not at the head of the table but smack-dab in the center. It is eerily similar to how the Last Supper was set up. To have a woman cosplaying Jesus is portraying a blasphemous statement: “God is a woman”. It can also be interpreted as a whorish version of Virgin Mary. The actress even stated on her social media: “Oh yes! Oh yes! The New gay Testament” before it was redacted. She's not even Dionysus- that's the smurfsona with a food kink.
Dionysis is the god of wine and fertility. The actor put too much emphasis on the ‘fertility’ aspect of the character. Being practically naked wasn't enough, they decided to carry themself as if this were a porno. Some queer people are so open with their sexuality, they have no qualms about being sensual or naked in public. This also goes for the male bodied adult among the actors with their testicles out on live tv. ‘Dionysus’ at least had a loincloth, but what the hell was that?! They had to have practiced before the official opening ceremony. Did that guy have his testicles out then? If so, he should have been stopped! The more triggering aspect was the child present amongst this debauchery.
The child is just awkwardly there whilst being whispered to, until everyone breaks out in dance at the end. No child should be dancing with hyper-sensual adults as if they were at the club, let alone in the vicinity of two male bodied adults who expose themselves! Had these been a pair of straight males, they would have committed a felony! Why is it that queer people are exempt from this? Some arguments over various social media have been made that this represents how sexual identity is available to children. But with this as an example, what is a kid supposed to think?!
It is bad to undress and show one's body to strangers. This is part of the stranger danger methods that kids are taught. Then you have these adults in the opening ceremony doing the exact opposite. If any kid were to mimic that behavior, it will be disastrous because of child predators and human trafficking. On top of that, a child who is encouraged to dress or behave in a manner that entices sensuality is being exploited and groomed. That child in the opening ceremony is being sexually abused! That is the furthest thing from family-friendly! While no official statement has been released to explain why that child was in the opening ceremony, cancel culture was used instead.
Translated from French, the title was originally: “The scene of The Scene on the Seine.” Alongside the obvious Christian symbolisms, this is a small, yet damning piece of evidence that they took ‘The Scene’ from the Last Supper. Videos that critique the show had been flagged, and several articles were taken down. Further uses of cancel culture have been utilized in an attempt to silence critics. If anything, it just reinforces predetermined prejudices and violates the freedom of speech and expression for anyone who doesn't choke down what was served by the woke agenda. They even had the gall to cook up a half-baked apology. It was neither wanted or needed.
Too much money had gone into making the opening ceremony for anything to be on accident or a coincidence. While the Olympics Committee ‘apologized’, it is important to note that the actors involved did not. One of them (Nicky) stated that: “[The opening ceremony] is ruffling feathers, and I love it! … The Olympics are the biggest stage in the world… it is time that we [queer people] are welcome in the space.” Hence the unapologetic, hyper-sensual performances that flunked family-friendliness and made fun of a religion. This wasn't the first time queers had made fun of Christianity. Case in point: Netflix's “The First Temptation of Christ.” Then you have the art director and his statements. Rather than take accountability, he is being defensive: “It is freedom of art expression” he argued. The double standards are staggering.
You hire biased actors with agendas, utilize multiple Christian art symbolisms in a show that violates the Christian faith, and do not protest impropriety of indecent exposure to children, whilst knowing this was supposed to be a family-friendly, international event. Then you argue that the opening ceremony was a “message of love and inclusiveness”. Evidently, this only applied to the queers. No amount of so-called apologies, excuse statements, or edited and censored articles and videos will ever fix the damage that had been done. While forgiveness is one thing, trust is another matter. Therefore, it should come as no surprise why both Christians and non religious families continue to oppose queers and will no longer support the Olympics.

you know how some parents do that toxic thing where they don’t notice or reward kids for improving their behavior, but every screw-up gets remarked upon and used to inflict shame? so you’re stuck in that awful cycle where there are no rewards, only the inevitability of eventual punishment?
I’m tired of people making awareness posts about big names like the voice actor Tara Strong and include her internet posts over fictional characters along with some more concerning stuff, such as her support for PETA, Autism speaks or Israel
Making weird posts about fictional cousins kissing in 2014 is not important. Being a troll over the characters she voiced is not important. Stuff like this doesn’t automatically make her a bad person.
but the rest of the stuff mentioned however is important, and her support for all of them makes her a bad person. Just focus on that if you want to make awareness posts
Unfortunately most people will scramble to collect any minute piece of "evidence" they can against someone in order to try and solidify their claims and force people to agree with their campaign. Often this will include anything from their taste in music to the books they read/write.
Modern internet culture is placing far too much weight on what people like as a determining factor in what kind of person they are or defining them as a person.
The best thing to do in situations like that is counter the information. Force people to address the actual points within the posts, rather than the unnecessary information. Force the conversation the stay on certain subjects and allow those to overshadow what is irrelevant.

I don't trust "documented evidence" as well, unless it's like in an official website or whatever. it's the mfing internet and people can edit or create fake messages or fake victims. hell, even with the new ai thingy they can create fake videos and pics. who gets to say these are real or not? I am saying this as a victim of fake callout posts who never got believed.
Modern cancel culture and the ability to just throw accusations around and be believed blindly have honestly ruined actual internet safety, accountability and being able to protect yourself and others from both false accusations and real dangerous people.
Its why I take issue with statements like "believe victims no matter what" and "support accusations until they're proven fake."
People have gone to jail for forty years and been proven innocent.
People have been murdered and their accusers have come forward to reveal they made the accusations up.
People have killed themselves over false accusations.
False accusations and blind witch hunting can ruin a person's life for literal decades.
It has absolutely nothing to do with proship vs antiship culture, even though the latter culture is in part what has exacerbated my stance. It has everything to do with the fact that practically weekly there's new news headlines about people milking a dead celebrity's estate with easily disproven claims, or bitter teenagers faking screenshots and falling over themselves to get internet sympathy because their boyfriend broke up with them.
I will always give victims a certain amount of benefit of doubt, but what I won't do is blindly launch a brigade against someone based on claims with no proof or flimsy proof with more holes in it than a festival tent.
Imagine being a kid born in this day and age, growing up a bit and then while playing in the playground with other kids (or whatever kids will do in x amount of years) just going like “oh yeah, my mom got cancelled on YouTube/ TikTok ten years ago, I saw the video” as a way of bonding and finding things in common with others
I'm tired of rebellion only being acceptable if you rebel in a politically correct fashion.
I'm tired of hate speech being acceptable as long as it's directed at the "correct group."
I'm tired of watching the church bow down to deranged elitists and corrupt government.
I'm tired of truth being manipulated.
I'm tired of cancel culture being normalized.
I'm tired of intolerance being tolerated.
I'm tired of skin color being a factor in judging and loving others.
I'm tired of equality turning into revenge.
I'm tired of gender defining identity, expectations and capability.
I'm tired of the "kill all men" twisted doctrine.
I'm tired of misogyny and chauvinism.
I'm tired of the boxes and the stereotypes...
With no space allowed to exist in between.
Let's start a proper revolution.
A revolution of love.
A revolution of proud existence, proud resistance and total disregard to what is considered "acceptable."
A revolution they can't dictate. They can't profit from. They can't control.
A revolution they can't stick in boxes of left or right or central or up or down or sideways.
Anarchy in its purest form.
Reblog if you see through the political mind manipulation games of the modern world.
I've seen multiple posts on social media of people "mocking" gen z for allegedly trying to cancel Eminem, but I have yet to see this for myself. It's kind of cringy.
What the AT&T lady said just didn’t register. Brad called to cancel the landline not get a new plan.
Brad put the receiver down to ask Chris. “Do we want ‘full coverage?!?’….”
Now that Brad said it out loud, the notion read nearly silly. A fierce 45 second single sided debate ensued.
Chris said if they were going to hold on to any unnecessary technology, it would be the wristwatch due to its advanced mobility feature.
Total peace broke out when Brad noted wristwatches didn’t take $50 out of their Chime account on the 5th of every month.
Boom.
Brad and Chris’ landline would finally die, die the next business day.
I think the 21st century has a branding problem.
Why is "this person is morally corrupt/violent so should not be allowed to have the power and influence they have" and "bland tv show is no longer on the air" the same word? I don't want to cancel someone, I want banish them
Jenna Ortega’s fame: a blessing or a curse?
Jenna Ortega, the bright young star of Hollywood, already has a cult of her own - crazy fandom that can make Selena Gomes and Taylor Swift jealous. And tarnish all her great achievements. How did that happen?
About a year ago Netflix released “Wednesday”, which immediately has become one of the most popular series of the platform and a real cultural phenomenon. Wednesday's dance went viral, prompting the teens all over the world to cosplay the goth girl and of course, Ortega, who played the main role in the beloved series, turned from a promising actress into a superstar.
But could we say that fame is a blessing for her? Along with unprecedented popularity, Ortega has acquired numerous aggressive, obsessive fans, most of whom are teenagers living more online than in real life. The behavior of these fans have already turned into a serious problem. Every new project involving Jenna Ortega is dragged into a scandal by the efforts of her own fans that throw absolutely every accusation in the book at her co-stars.
It all started in January, when Percy Hynes White, who played a part in love triangle with her in “Wednesday”, was accused in anonymous tweets of sexual assault, racism etc. The actor denied all the accusations and no legal proceedings followed. Ortega's fans meanwhile organized the massive campaign against White, justifying it with concerns about their idol’s life, both work related and personal. Ortega and White have repeatedly stated that they became best friends during the filming and although the status of their relationship is now unclear, many fans of Ortega continue to campaign against the actor, inciting to harass him on social media. White’s participation in s2 of “Wednesday” is still uncertain.
Martin Freeman was the next to come under fire from Ortega's fans. Freeman is her co-star in the upcoming "Miller's girl" film, where his character, a teacher, has an illicit relationship with his own student, played by Ortega. The first trailer was released recently and immediately caused to resurface the accusation of racism, child abuse etc Freeman has. In less than a day the viral tweet gained more than 13 million views and Ortega's fans actively participate in spreading accusations and inciting the harassment of the actor. And the movie hasn't been released yet! There is every reason to believe that with the release, the hate snowball will turn into an avalanche and Freeman will become the next victim of the cancel culture.
The most ambiguous situation happened around another co-star of Ortega, Toby Wallace, who played her love interest in the recently released Paramount film "Finestkind''. Although Wallace wasn’t involved in anything controversial, did not actively promote the film together with Ortega and even skipped the red carpet premiere of the film, he was bombarded with hateful comments on his Instagram by Ortega's fans, who wished him dead (smt in portuguese), among other things.
Perhaps the situation began to bother Ortega's PR team, because several big fan pages simultaneously called for an end of harassment of this actor, thereby only fueling the interest of others in the issue.
Thus, almost everyone who plays a love interest of Jenna Ortega in the movies finds themselves under attack from the actress' numerous and very active fans. Their actions create quite an unhealthy atmosphere of scandal around the young star, negatively affecting her reputation in the industry, because everyone of her colleagues risks getting bullied and canceled.
Miss Ortega didn’t comment on any of this and fans may see it as full approval, continuing to harass her co-stars on the Internet. Who is next? The release of a new film featuring Ortega and the Weeknd is to be announced soon, and the prospects for the Weeknd, already suffering harsh criticism for his Idol series involvement, are not very sunny.
In the upcoming film Ortega plays a stalker obsessed with the Weeknd’s character, a very controversial role in itself. Let’s just wait and see if he would be the new target for the Ortega’s stan cult.
Jenna Ortega Makes Big Announcement Regarding 'Wednesday' Season 2
Welp, that's me out.
I guess I'll be living in fanfiction and fanart. It's bullshit that @netflix let some unsupported rumors affect their casting choices. I was really looking forward to seeing how Wednesday and Xavier's relationship was going to evolve now that she knows he was innocent the whole time. This is just one more sign of the toxicity of cancel culture where your entire life and career can be damaged by some unsupported internet rumors.
Don't get me wrong, I always choose to believe and support the victims of SA, hell I am one, but I also believe in the rule of "innocent until proven guilty" and refuse to go off half cocked on a crusade to crucify someone on someones word alone. I fully believe in supporting and encouraging the victims to seek official help, both legal and psychological, while demanding the authorities give every case the respect and importance that such a claim demands. I was holding my judgments waiting to see what legally happens only for the claims to quickly fall apart even without legal intervention. It's shit like this that makes it so hard for people to believe victims of SA.
All this has done is encourage internet trolls looking for their 5 minutes of fame to further their campaigns to ruin lives.
hey sorry if this isnt true i forgot exactly where i read it but this person should be brutalised and subjected to some of the most horrific acts of cruelty humanity has ever seen. it might be nothing though i might have the people mixed up
It’s almost like when the majority of your sense of connection comes from television or media you fail to learn other ways to interact with media. Or when a significant portion of your self identity is the media you consume you never develop a way to judge media outside your self perception. Like, yeah, reading comprehension. But also, social comprehension.
I’d be extreme interested to see how this growing cancel culture/puritanical internet culture and the growing use of media as babysitter/human interaction substitute correlate over time.
people on this website be like “it’s actually school’s fault that i don’t know how to read because i wanted to write my essay on the divergent trilogy and that BITCH mrs. clarkson made us study 1984 instead. anyway here’s a 10 tweet thread of easily disproven misinformation about a 3 year old news story and btw, who is toni morrison?”
a good chunk of internet leftism is just puritanical bullshit masquerading as woke and progressive which has thus developed into callout/cancel culture and respectability politics, encouraging a narrow, black and white worldview while discouraging critical thinking, creating insignificant and performative activism, and prioritizing discourse and public image over meaningful praxis
I'll never forgive society for canceling Teddy Sinclair/Natalia Kills.
It's easy to find that she was made to say something mean by the X Factor producers, Simon Cowell got famous for being cruel on American Idol, and most of the same people who vilify her say mean shit to and about people themselves.
"Well, she choose what she said, so she ruined her own career!" You don't know that, and it doesn't change the fact that she was made to say something mean.
Also, many more famous celebrities get away with the same or far worse. But her career was destroyed because of one staged mean comment.
I refuse to witch-hunt someone with "Trust me, bro" as the source.
If that makes me "a bad person," then so be it.
