imagine being a fresh new officer and showing up to a company only to be workplace harassed by a bunch of men with an average height of 5ft 7'. if i was lieutenant jones i would have killed myself.
so back when i watched band of brothers for the first time years ago it was around christmas and i wanted both a christmas wallpaper and a band of brothers wallpaper (bc yk the brainrot is real) and my fav characters were eugene and lieb so naturally i asked my sister to make me a christmas band of brothers wallpaper and this is what she sends me
Sooo, I have this problem: I recently introduced my best friend (and her husband) to Band of Brothers and we watched the first two episodes together. It was wonderful! She recognized so many actors, got invested in the story really fast and was immediately scared for all of them.
But (and this is a big BUT) what she doesn't know: I've watched the series plenty of times, I read ours on ours of fanfictions, I'm craving all these funny Tumblr posts and I ship the frickin HELL out of these beautiful brave boys.
And I don't know how to contain all these feelings!!!
Like, can you imagine sitting there, not being able to scream 'Look at them!! Do you see the love? DO YOU SEE IT????' 😱
The only positive thing is we're both German and the series gives us plenty of interesting things to discuss, like how in TV shows and movies we're always rooting for the Americans, but in reality we would be the evil ones, or how our (great) grandparents experienced the war and how we grew up with this huge guilt.
I'm so happy this unbelievable show exists!
OMG I just realized something
Why isn’t Webster and Liebgott’s ship name Liebster? It actually, no LITERALLY (!) means Dearest in German!
I mean... come on!
(I know I can’t be the first one to notice, but I’m so amazed by this!)
These scenes never fail to amuse me. Look at their faces!! Perfect. Just perfect. And not only Skip and Lip's. No no, look at Winters. What is he thinking?? I wanna know so bad!!
I finally watched "Generation War" for the first time, because I heard it's the german "Band of Brothers" and now I can't stop thinking about it.
I wish I could talk about it with someone who has a non-german perspective on it.
Band of Brothers fandom
Thanks so much @howling-harpy for including me! I’m a bit hesitant to call myself a member of the fandom because I can’t really contribute anything besides likes and comments. But I want to let you know I appreciate every single post I see.
Name: Hannah
Age: 26
Biggest loves: Winters, Nixon, Speirs, Luz
The episode I love the most: Day of Days. I rember how shocked I was after watching it for the first time. The danger and violence kept me on the edge of my seat, and I got pretty sad and thought to myself: Welcome to our frikkin war boys :(
And least?: Crossroads. I never understood why such a great series needed to portray the germans so incompetent and weak in this episode (giving away their position on the dike without logical reason). BoB and especially Easy Company don’t need to dump them down. They’re better than this.
Whom I didn’t like at first but found coming around to: Blithe. He annoyed me soo much at first, because he was so weak and a real threat and hindrence for his company (in my eyes). But later I had to admit that I would have reacted exactly the same (as most of us would), and that it was important to see the fighting from his perspective to show us the horrors and consequences of the war.
I’d like to hear this from: Everyone in the same situation as me, who didn’t dare to speak out and/or wasn’t tagged yet. I’d love to hear your opinion!
Am I open for makind new friends?: Absolutely! Everyone who loves Band of Brothers has to be awesome!
Every time I read this I have to chuckle. Never underestimate Dick Winters!!
This podcast gives me so much joy! Hearing them talking, laughing (and singing) about the show makes me wanna laugh and cry at the same time. I feel like I'm seeing it again for the first time. That is so awesome, can't believe it!
Does anyone here watch BoB reaction videos on YouTube? Because I fucking love it to see how people react to my favorite moments and scenes. Or how they struggle to remember who's who and what's happening in this madness. And sometimes it even gives me a new perspective on things and then I watch the show with different eyes and everything is so new and exciting again!
A mistake is way too boring, my mind is running so many ideas why these objects are in Dick's room, I'm loving it.
Can anyone help me, please? In episode 5 of Band of Brothers in Dick “teetotaller” Winters’ hotel room in Paris, there are an almost empty glass, what looks like a half empty bottle of whisky and on the chair an USAAF ARMY OFFICER’S CRUSH CAP. This is obviously not a mistake. The room is very dark outside the bathroom, but if you lighten up the shot, you can see them very clearly, hidden in plain sight. The director of ep. 5 “Crossroads” is Tom Hanks, so why did he put these items in Winters’ room? Why did he hide them? Is there a logical explanation I can’t find? Help? Anyone?
