The Milky Way, as seen from Pittsburgh’s North Park.
Light pollution limits some of the clarity, but I’m pretty happy with the results.
Two views of the Pleiades from the sky last night over Spruce Knob, West Virginia. Wide Angle, and Extreme Telephoto.
The Orion Nebula | Shot from the rim of the Grand Canyon in December, 2017.
A stack of 5 exposures to minimize noise and get as much confidence as possible about the details presented.
The Milky Way and Mars in the sky over Pittsburgh’s North Park. Shot with an 18-55 kit lens, and a 1972-era 12mm f/11 fisheye, respectively. Anybody wanna buy me a modern ultrawide lens? Like 14 or 15 millimeter?
Two shots of the Milky Way from a hilltop in central Pennsylvania, nice and far from any major city or source of light pollution. The orange glow and haze near the horizon comes mostly from smoke particles still blowing down from Canada. The first shot was during nautical twilight, and the second was shot two hours later during the darkest portion of the night.
