Procrastinating, definitely. Comfort eating as well. And the fact that I do not have the habit of cleaning the house more often isn’t the greatest.

140. Summer or Winter?

Pffft, difficult, since they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall I don’t like the seasonal depression of winter and I will prefer summer, but not a summer like last one, because I genuinely go insane with those high temperatures and whenever there’s a rainy day now, I still think of how I felt those days and go ‘this is not so bad’. (Absolute favorite season is spring, actually.)

2. Are you outgoing or shy?

Definitely shy when first meeting people, and definitely introverted. That being said, once I get comfortable with people, I get a lot more social.

6. What kind of people are you attracted to?

I’ve been romantically attracted to a huge variety of personalities. I suppose that’s at least part of it: personality. A lot of that has consisted of people with some kind of problems in the past, though my current (and longest ever) relationship is with someone who is stable and has fairly few ‘issues’. So yeah, personality, but that can pretty much consist of anything xD Sorry I can’t be clearer on this.

15. What good thing happened this summer?

I want to be a little sarcastic and say ‘it finally stopped being so hot by the end of it’, but that seems a bit eh :P The heat did mean I didn’t enjoy most of it, though, and I can’t recall anything particularly noteworthy happening this summer… Most of the best things of 2018 happened in autumn for me.

hey i was just going through your 2018 bingo fills, and j was wondering- and i truly mean this out of curiosity not compatively- your writing doesn't tend to always reflect well on Steve. Not that that's a bad thing, everyone has preferences obviously, but I was just wondering if there was a specific reason for that?? Like one specific reason why you don't like Steve's character or if he's just a convenient "bad guy"??

First of all, I just opened my inbox and saw your list of reviews and oh wow thank you that was amazing to find!

Second, Steve… He’s tricky for me, to be honest. I like the idea of him, the way he was intended to be - good, and just, and willing to fight what’s wrong. And in some stories, that’s what I focus on.

But a lot of the time, I look at the decisions the MCU had him make, the bad decisions, and the way he’s still framed as being what he was intended to be. He faces few, if any, true consequences for his actions. And after all of those decisions, he’s still there, righteous and stubborn and determined to think the best hands are his own, and that just about makes me scream.

Some of the time, he’s a convenient obstacle, because it’s very easy to imagine that righteousness going wrong the way I feel it did in canon. And some of the time, it’s that frustration with him that shines through.

I like what Steve was supposed to be, but I think Marvel did him wrong. And sometimes I use that characterization rather than the one they’d intended, because I want to work through that frustration or because I need someone to be the obstacle. And as much as I don’t like him, even in those cases, he’s a convenient obstacle exactly because he means well. He adds some conflict into a story, but in most of the stories where he is, he’s called out on it and tries to do better instead.

As for what happens, well… Bucky is Not Amused. Tony needed him, and he couldn’t be there for him like he’d promised because they’d made him unable to? Yeah, he gets rather pissed off. And maybe Natasha isn’t the only one off to decimate them (because Clint has hot chocolate, and Pepper and Rhodey have companionship, and Bucky really doesn’t need all that long to wreak utter destruction upon those that have angered him).

Edit: might add on more later, not sure yet though. Though clearly Bucky’s reaction is something that would be a good addition ^_^

Thank you very much for the ask! I do remember that moodboard - the only disadvantage is that there’s currently a pile of… well, quite a few WIPs and ideas and events that I’m working on. Hahaha oh wow I actually find this really difficult to answer because honestly, I don’t think dialogue is really my strong point? But I’d have to go with the dialogue from the first chapter of Coming Together (Falling Apart).

“They said it was one of us or all of us, and there is no reason for all of us to get tortured.”

“So what, you want to offer up one of us to get hurt?” Clint’s eyes were narrowed, his fists clenched once again.

“I do, in fact.” After a few seconds of stunned silence, he continued. “I’m Iron Man, sure, but outside of the suit, I’m just a regular, unenhanced civilian. You are trained to withstand interrogation - I’m not. We’ve got no idea what they want, or which one of us can give it to them, but I say we send in anyone but me.”

It keeps going like that, and I’m really proud of the double layers, the way they’re performing for the (hidden) cameras, and the way Steve (as the POV character) doesn’t know exactly what is going on, but slowly starts realizing that something definitely is.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve come up with?

Hmmm…. That would probably have been either Hate Me or some of my Whumptober shorts.

The first one is a lot of internal angst, with Tony hating himself and also hiding the fact that he’s Iron Man (because Iron Man is good, and Tony Stark isn’t). The second one has more external angst, with people getting hurt a lot.

That being said, angst is relative for me, because I’m terrible at unhappy endings (reading and writing both) and my stories either outright end well, or the implication is that they will (in the case of the Whumptober ones, where I didn’t have time to write entire fics).

2. what’s your feel-good movie?

I had feel-good movies when I was younger (for example, I watched Miss Congeniality probably 10 times when I was home with a concussion), but nowadays it’s mostly fics. Still, Legally Blonde and Disney movies are easy contenders, but so are some oddball disaster movies, because apparently I like seeing the world destroyed when I’m not feeling well xD I’ll also watch some Try Guys videos because they make me laugh.

23. favorite piece of clothing?

There’s plenty of clothing that I like a lot, especially since I recently Marie Kondo’d myself through my closet last month. A lot of those are for occasions, though. In the end, it’s probably the super soft, fluffy, dark purple housecoat I found some years ago that is lovely and warm and super comfy.

29. morning, afternoon or night?

I’m pretty much a night owl. Afternoon is doable. Mornings, I usually spend sleeping again after I’ve walked the dog in order to get through the day xD

25. what’s the best personal gift someone could give you (playlist, homemade card, etc.)

I honestly love anything that someone makes specifically for me, but if I had to pick? A letter. I absolutely love getting letters, reading them and later re-reading them... It’s like a story between me and the sender that I can enjoy over and over again. I pretty much keep all letters I’ve ever gotten, and even if I lose them for a while, reading them again months or years later, it still makes me feel warm inside.

27. which character would you want to be? 

A difficult question mostly because it depends on what it means, exactly, to be a character. Do you have their powers, their adventures, their very identity? In general, probably one of the many self-inserts I’ve thought up over the years that have all kinds of cool powers (like my recent ‘elemental’ insert in the MCU) 😝

30. what reminds you of home?

A good hug. Sometimes my mind bounces a bit too much to enjoy it as I should, and it’s too busy, but those times where I can let myself enjoy a hug? Where I can lean into it and breathe it and feel it all the way through? That’s home to me.

That’s kinda difficult since there’s nothing currently on my agenda which is a big ‘omg yes’-moment. I still have hopes that my boyfriend will propose at some point, so that’d be something 😅

I do. I very much do. There’s two currently actually in my bed, though I have loads more - my rabbit, which was given to me when I was born and is my oldest stuffed animal, and a red panda plush that I got myself last year. I love soft things, and stuffed animals are definitely included (to, occasionally, my boyfriend’s exasperation).

20. what do you want most in the world right now?

A couple of things that are mostly tied together. Overall, I think a) money would make a difference. Which I would get if I could get b) a job. Which would help me gain some c) self-confidence and peace of mind.

Okay so I asked my mom and her response was “wow, nothing specific comes to mind” so instead I’ll tell you all a secret. Because I know a lot of people are familiar with the whole ‘my brain keeps working and worrying and now I can’t sleep’ and in theory, I’m someone who’s super susceptible to that. In practice, however, I have a trick.Since I’m not gonna be able to stop the thinking, what I do instead is target the thinking. Ever since I was young, I’d make up stories in my mind when going to sleep, and I’d eventually drift off. Often self-indulgent self-insert stories that I never planned to write out anyway, which means I don’t have to worry about remembering any of it the next morning. That way, I can target all that thinking into not-worrying, and the transition to sleep would go more smoothly. It has worked really well for me, and who knows - maybe it’ll help someone else as well.

For this, I picked Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson, an utterly humorous and poignant book about mental health and how to deal with its difficulties. A specific passage wasn’t easy to find, since there’s a lot of good ones and a lot of bizarre ones and I wanted one that showed the essence of the book, both the meaningful and the weird, and I think I found it.“Personally, I always compare myself to Galileo because everyone knows he’s fantastic, but he has no spoons at all because he’s dead. So technically I’m better than Galileo because all I’ve done is take a shower and already I’ve accomplished more than him today. If we were having a competition I’d have beaten him in daily accomplishments every damn day of my life. But I’m not gloating because Galileo can’t control his current spoon supply any more than I can, and if Galileo couldn’t figure out how to keep his dwindling spoon supply I think it’s pretty unfair of me to judge myself for mine.” [p242]I love this book, and I still reread it sometimes because it helps me with my own mental issues as well, by encouraging me and reminding me I’m not the only one.

Alright, I’m gonna lean into fandom and say Tony Stark here. Not because there aren’t real people I admire or anything, but because he exemplifies a lot of qualities that I admire in people. He’s not a perfect person at all, of course, and there’s also qualities I’m less fond of, but...

To me, he reminds me that it’s never too late to turn things around. It’s never too late to look at things, to see they are Not Right, and to change them. He doesn’t forget what’s gone wrong, doesn’t forget the mistakes he’s made, but he doesn’t let those keep him down. And to me, it is really important to see that it’s never too late, as long as you don’t give up.

lilac; if you could go back in time which time period would you visit? 

Hmmm... There’s periods I’d like to see, people I’d like to meet, but I think if I really had to make a choice, I’d go back to when I was younger, when things weren’t going well in a lot of ways and I needed someone. And I’d sit with myself, and listen, and try to help out. I’d tell myself some of the things I needed to hear back then and people couldn’t tell me for various reasons. I’d let myself cry, and rage, and I’d give myself a hug.
