AKB48 48 Day Challenge ~Day 8~ Who is Your Oshimen? This amazing, inspiring, super hard working, incredibly sensitive, tiny little 148.5cm cutie. Takahashi Minami or Takamina! There’s so much I love about her.
WARNING LONG POST!
So Takamina is a first generation member meaning she’s been a part of AKB since way back in 2005. She’s been a part of Team A since the beginning (being the only one), she was the first soukantoku and personally I don’t think anyone will do a better job than she did (I may be biased I do love Yui).
Takamina’s voice was the first one I learned to recognise in every AKB song. She’s still the only I can recognise every time without failure. I love her voice too. To me I love how powerful it is and how you can hear the emotion she puts in. Takamina is also one of the only members to sing live the majority of time in AKB concerts and performances and she does really well to sing some quite difficult songs live.
I love how she’s developed her dance skills from when she first started AKB as honestly she was horrendous. But she’s improved so much I love watching her dance.
Her solo debut announcement in the Tokyo Dome made me cry buckets even though I watched it a long time after it happened. You could see in that moment how much everything meant to Takamina and it was beautiful plus sharing it with Acchan was just perfect.
I think the thing I love about her the most is her endless love and work she puts in for the sake of the AKB48 Group. She’s one of the most selfless people I’ve heard of. She works her hardest putting so many others before herself.
If there’s one moment where I truly realised my respect for Takamina it’s the moments in the Seibu Dome Concert. This concert actually made me respect all the girls a lot more but particularly Takamina. The girls were all pushing themselves way past their limits to give a good concert and in AKB’s THE SHOW MUST GO ON Documentary (which is my favourite) the behind the scenes of those concerts were shown. You can see Acchan practically passing out from Heatstroke and both Yuko and Takamina really struggling to breathe. However on top of all that the moment that really struck me is when Aki-P isn’t impressed with first night’s concert (before all the heatstroke that was the second day) Takamina alone marches herself outside to Aki-P and apologises for the whole of the AKB Group taking the blame for herself. She then tearfully lectures the rest of the group on how they all need to put in even more work and do better. I mean wow what can you say other than Takamina is an amazing person who loves the AKB48 Group so much she’s willing to do whatever it takes to pull them all forwards.
Of course you can’t mention Takamina without mentioning her famous words ~Hard Work Will Always Be Rewarded~ I think she first said this in the 3rd Sousenkyo Election back in 2011. Ever since then these words have inspired many people and even though they’ve also been made fun of by a lot of people they still remain some of the best words ever said at the elections. These words have become a motto for me and whenever I’m feeling like I can’t do something I remind myself of these words.
So to sum up. I love her voice, I love her dancing, I love watching her perform, I love seeing her with the other members, I love her hard work, I love her speeches, I love her emotion, I love her personality.
I JUST LOVE HER.
