Yesterday was National Coming Out Day and coming out is obviously a personal choice, something you should do only if you feel comfortable doing.

I just wanted to talk about the fact that you should not feel pressured into it if it makes you uncomfortable. It's a personal decision that you make.

And if your friends/family or anyone you came out to, disowned you, laughed at you or hurt you in any way. SCREW THEM. That's right, SCREW THEM.

Dragons as an Ace Symbol

(Art not mine) I stated in my post about ace rings that I would make a future post regarding dragons as an ace symbol. Well, here I am!

Dragons as an ace symbol are used to show how asexuals are rather rare, “unusual”, and are considered myth by some.

There’s also the aspect of how dragons are mythical creatures and represent how we as aces may feel “mythological” in society. Unicorn are also somewhat considered of an ace symbol because of their mythological ties.

I only realized this a few hours after watching the movie (Captain Marvel) but just this once there was no love interest for the main character in a superhero movie, which left more space to emphasize the platonic and family relationships and honestly? it's balm for my soul. kid-me would've needed that. pass it on Carol Danvers is a GODDESS for defeating amatonormativity in one movie and hopefully ending Thanos in the next one.

Many People Dont know what Asexuality And Aromantism really are, and how far streched the Aspec is.

Asexuality is a lack of sexual desire.

This user clearly doesn't understand that dressing sexily is not an invitation to anyone. This gives off so entiteled and disgusting vibes.

Please educate yourself about The large and diverse Aspectrum.

The Aro & Ace Community is very focused on different types of attraction and releationships that apply to non aspec people just as much, but haven't been talked about a lot becourse romantic and sexual attraction are mostly in focus.

(Sometimes i feel like Aspec people know way more about sexual attraction than Allos, and this knowledge really should be shared. For everyone who feels not to comfortable with their label, or is unsure how to react to post talking about trans folk in queer releationships, visiting the Aspec Community might be helpful.

Fun Fact: My family thought i had super strong feelings about romance/was a hopeless romantic becourse i hid everytime a romantic / sexual scene came in series.

So when i (partially) came out, i had to explain that No, i was just very disturbed when these people randomly started to find each other attractive?? Which is why i hid under a blanket every time charad kissed, flirted etc.

I also tend to smile like a nervous Joker when these scenes start, which apparently does not help my case.

I love singing love songs as aroace bc I will ALWAYS sing them w more passion than anyone else in the room (unrelated?) and ppl think i have a Romeo and Juliet (not rlly abt love but yk) kind of love story
