i can't decide if i wish iwtv had done more overall with framing vampires as monsters in a way that worked as metaphor for other forms of emargination or if i wish they had done more to show that monstrosity has nothing to do with vampirism and actually what is human in you is what can make you a monster or if i wish they had stated more clearly that monstrosity is related to vampirism, but only insofar as becoming a vampire and being forced to live forever is a naturally traumatic experience that generates deeply unbalanced minds.

i think they have touched upon all of this throughout the series, but i am left with the feeling they haven't developed a unifying thesis on what monstrosity means in-universe for them.
