Summary: You’re a hot shot business lawyer and used to live in Riverdale with FP, you’re called back to help with a case involving Jughead and meet Sweet Pea, who becomes enamoured.

A/N: This is the first thing that I’m posting on here, but I have written for Riverdale before, let me know what you guys think and if you want me to continue! Also my requests are open so let me know what you guys want to read! :)

You rarely came back to Riverdale, you’d left ten years ago and had become a business lawyer. You were proud of how successful you had managed to become during the first years of your career. FP Jones had looked after you whilst you lived in Riverdale, he’d helped you stay on the right track after your father had passed away. Every so often, the Serpent leader would call on you for legal help, criminal law wasn’t your speciality, but you were still relatively well versed.

The last time you had returned was five years ago when Fangs, a young Serpent had been accused of murder, but the Riverdale Police Department couldn’t hold him as they hadn’t had any evidence, so it had been a short time. Before that, you’d returned to help FP himself with the Jason Blossom case.

Since then, the Serpents had managed to stay completely above board, until now anyway. This time it was FP’s own son, Jughead, who was in trouble. Jughead’s case was a lot more in your comfort area than Fangs’ had been. Jughead had gotten himself in trouble for revealing private information, that he’d found out illegally and was being sued for slander and illegally bugging the Mayor’s office.

A lot had happened in the time that you’d left. There was the Black Hood of course, who’d really committed the murder that Fangs had been accused of and you’d heard that upon leaving the Police Station, Fangs had been shot. There was also the Lodge vs Andrews mayoral race, which Hermione had ultimately won, and the Lodge’s had gone ahead with their plans for the prison in Riverdale, however it had crashed and burned when both Hiram and Hermione had been arrested for their illegal activities. Furthermore, there had also been the Ghoulies vs Serpents fight, which had ended with a couple of Serpent members in prison and ultimately a truce. But it had been so small scale, FP hadn’t called you in.

Many of the people who made Riverdale ‘Riverdale’ no longer lived in the town. Veronica Lodge had taken the money that she had from a few slightly dodgy deals and had fled the town with Archie Andrews in tow. Betty Cooper had gone to college in New York and had broken up with Jughead following his decision to take over the town newspaper and stay in Riverdale.

The only people that were as you’d left them were the Serpents. There had been a few members exiled and there had been a few added too, namely Cheryl Blossom, Toni Topaz’s girlfriend. You were sort of looking forward to being back, being a hot shot business lawyer was starting to become boring, it was always the same cases, with the same type of people.

When you arrive in Riverdale you quickly check into the nicer of the two motels that Riverdale has to offer and make your way to the Whyte Wyrm for a drink, to see the Serpents and to talk tactics with FP. The Whyte Wyrm was still as you’d remember when you’d last been here, when you said goodbye to the Serpents before you’d left. You’d not had a chance to visit when you were back for Fangs’ case, so it was the first time you were seeing the bar in over ten years.

The bar was hazy with cigarette smoke and filled with the sound of Serpent chatter and the clinking of pool balls knocking against each other as the Serpents challenged each other. You spot Toni and Hogs Eye behind the bar and then your gaze flickers to where Cheryl is stood laughing with Fangs and a tall dark-haired boy, but you don’t quite remember his name.

“Y/N!” a familiar raspy voice calls from behind you and you know before you turn around that it will be FP.

“Mr Jones.” You smirk, turning around to face the Serpent leader, you had a father/daughter relationship with the dark-haired man, so this case was very personal. You had never been close with Jughead, since you were seven years older than him and he had tended to stay away from Serpent business when he was younger, but this was FP’s son, you had to get him out of this trouble.

“What do you want to drink Y/N/N?” FP asked you as he pulled you to the bar and gestured for Toni to come over and serve the pair of you.

“A vodka coke please.” You reply politely and hop up onto a bar stool, crossing one leg over the other.

“And a beer, thanks Toni.” FP shoves a bill at the pink-haired Serpent, who smiles before pushing a beer at FP and preparing your vodka coke. “This is Y/N, she is a hot shot lawyer, she used to live here, with Jug and I, but then she went to New York to become a lawyer, she comes back whenever we need her.”

“You helped Fangs, didn’t you?” Toni asks you after she’s given you your drinks, one hand on her hip and her head cocked to the side slightly, a small smile on her lips. The whole situation had been a mess and it had ended up with one of her best friends being shot.

“Well, I didn’t really need to do much, he didn’t do anything, and they had no evidence he did.” You smile back at the young Serpent, modestly replying to the question. “I’m glad he seems to be doing a lot better now.” You add turning to look at where Fangs is playing a game of pool with the tall, dark-haired Serpent you saw earlier and take a large sip of your drink.

“Oh, he’s fine now.” FP jumps in, turning to look at the young Serpent himself. Fangs looks up and catches the pair of you looking over at him and a smile takes over his face. The tanned boy turns to the tall Serpent beside him and says something glancing back at you and FP before making his way over to where you’re sat with FP.

“Hey Miss Y/L/N!” He greets you with a smile, but you internally groan at the use of ‘Miss Y/L/N’. “Thank you so much for helping me before.” The Serpent opens his arms in the offer of a hug, which you accept immediately, after setting your drink down on the bar, remember that Fangs was a very affectionate person from the short time you had spent with him five years previously.

“It’s Y/N, Fangs! Miss Y/L/N makes me feel older than I already am!” You laugh at the younger man and pick your vodka coke back up, taking another sip.

“You’re not old.” A smooth, deep voice comes from behind Fangs and he steps to the side to reveal the tall dark-haired Serpent that had been with Fangs. “You can’t be much older than us, 25, maybe?”

“Oh darling,” You let out a laugh. “I’m 28 years old, but flattery will get you everywhere.” You look the tall man over, he must be at least 6’3, maybe 6’4 and his dark hair fell in his face a little, he had a strong jaw line and extremely dark brown eyes, he was extremely attractive. He’s wearing an open red plaid shirt over a white over shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans, he’s not wearing his Serpent jacket, but it’s a fairly warm night, so he didn’t need it.

“I hope it will.” The man winks at you before offering his hand. “I’m Sweet Pea.”

You’re not too shocked by the name, whether it’s a nickname or his actual name, you’re used to the strange names many Serpents go by. “Y/N Y/L/N, I’m a lawyer, I’m here to help Jughead. I helped Fangs when he had some trouble before.” You reach out to shake Sweet Pea’s hand, but he catches it and brings it to his lips to press a soft kiss against the back, rather than shaking it like you had expected him to. FP smirks next to you and Fangs has a grin on his face, you raise your eyebrow in a silent question.

“You’re a classy lady Y/N, class ladies get kisses.” Sweet Pea answers, smirking a little.

You resist the urge to roll your eyes at the younger man and turn back to FP. “Perhaps we should go back to your trailer?” After all, you were about to discuss a case and the bar was a bit noisy to have a proper conversation. You notice Sweet Pea frown a little and you wonder if maybe he thinks the two of you have a more intimate relationship, so you’re quick to add ‘So we can talk about Jug’. It’s just because you think it’s weird than the Sweet Pea thinks you’re sleeping with a man you see as your father, it’s not because you want to seem available, it’s not. Sweet Pea is seven years younger than you, it wouldn’t be appropriate.

“Of course.” FP smiles and gulps down the rest of his beer and sets the empty bottle on the bar as you sip on the last of your vodka coke.

“It was nice to meet you Sweet Pea, and it’s always nice to see you Fangs.” You smile at the three young Serpents. “But I do have to get up to speed on Jughead’s case.”

“Will we see you around?” Sweet Pea asks, a hopeful tone to his voice and Fangs grins again at the Serpent.

“We’ll see Sweet Pea.” You finish the last of your drink and set the empty glass on the bar and turn to where FP is stood.

“Bye Y/N.” Fangs sends you a sweet smile and Toni sends you a wave from where she’s stood at the other end of the bar, lent over talking to Cheryl.

“Bye.” You say to the two Serpents before following FP out of the bar.

Okay so I woke up earlier than I thought and Riverdale isn’t on Netflix yet so I thought I just check on here for spoilers but I’m just more confused tbh...

Okay so I’m in love with the entire idea of Hot Shot, let alone the actual fic itself oof sis I’m excited

Omg omg thank you sooo much! I can just imagine Sweet Pea being all for an older powerful woman and you know those kids should get into more trouble than they do for the crap they do! Do you think Hot Shot is an appropriate name for the fic, I find it sooooo hard to come up with names 😩😩😩
