Chapter 1

Rose

"What do you want?" Elena asked confused as Trevor unties her  "Shhh." Trevor replied

"Please, I'm hurt." Elena says

"I know" Trevor says  "Uh!" Elena responds

"Just a taste" Trevor says as he shows his vampire eyes and goes to bite her "No!" Elena yells in fright.

"Trevor." Rose says "Control yourself." Rose says to Trevor as he get up walking up to rose

"Buzzkill." Trevor says walking away as Elena is breathing heavily glaring at rose

  "What do you want with me?" Elena asks 

"My God. you look just like her." Rose told Elena

"But I'm not, please whatever you—" Elena goes to say

"Be quiet" Rose said to Elena

"But I'm not Kathrine." Elena says sitting up as she walk towards rose "My name is Elena Gilbert. You don't have to do this." Elena said

  "I know who you are I said be quiet." Rose said

"What do you want?" Elena asked rose then slaps Elena across the face making Elena fall backwards on the couch unconscious

"I want you to be quiet." Rose said rose says smiling at Elena unconscious body before walking away.

"This has Kathrine written all over it " Stefan said to Damon.

"Kathrine's in the tomb. Trust me. I'm the one that shut her in" Damon said 

"Did you?" Stefan asked Damon

"Did I what. Stefan?" Damon asked tilting his head "Well, I know the hold Kathrine has on you." "She's in the tomb. Period. End of story" Damon said

"But she did say something to me right before I shut her in" Damon says as Stefan turns around facing Damon "I thought she lying." Damon says

"What did she say?" Stefan asked Damon

"Elena's in danger." Damon said

"What and you didn't think you should ask her to elaborate?" Stefan asked

"But Everything she says is a lie. How am I supposed to know. she's gonna start spouting out the truth." Damon said

"We have to go talk to her." Stefan said

"No. no. no Lemme tell you how that's gonna go. we're gonna go ask her for help she's gonna negotiate a release which you're gonna be dumb enough to give her and then she's gonna get out and kill us all. Damon said

"It's exactly what she wants." Damon said

"I don't really care." Stefan replied

"It's a bad idea. Stefan." Damon said

"It's Elena." Stefan says walking away leaving Damon standing alone.

Caroline staring at the flowers by the locker

"Caroline." Tyler said

  "Hey. How are you doing?" Caroline asked Tyler

"Not good" Tyler responded

"How's your mom? My mom said that she was pretty freaked out about everything that happened with Sara." Caroline said

"How did you know?" Tyler asked Caroline 

"What do you mean?" Caroline asked

"About me. " Tyler said

  "How did you know?" Tyler asked again

"Know what? That you were upset?" Caroline asked

"I thought I was doing a good thing by covering for you." Caroline said

"That's not what I'm talkin' about" Tyler said

"Look, it was an accident,okay? And I-I've gotta run. Just please don't blame yourself" Caroline said to Tyler as she smiled at him and walked away leaving Tyler in the middle of the hallway at school.

"How's the girl?" Rose asked Trevor

"Still passed out'" Trevor replied to rose

"You didn't touch her. did you?" Rose asked Trevor

"Give me some credit." Trevor says

"So you called him?" Trevor asked as Elena began to

wake up from being unconscious

"No, I called one of his contacts." Rose replied

"You know how this works." Rose says

"Look, Did you or did you not get the message to Elijah?" Trevor asked rose

  "They say he got it." Rose said walking around

"Wonderful. And what?" Trevor asked as Elena listened in on the conversation

"So that's it, Trevor. He either got it or he didn't," Rose said

"We just have to wait." Rose said

"Look I-it's not too late We can leave her here." Trevor says to rose

"We don't have to go through with this." Trevor says

"I'm sick running." Rose says facing Trevor "Yeah? Well running keeps us from dying." Trevor replies

"Elijah's old-school. If he accepts our deal. we're free." Rose says  "You!" Rose yelled at Elena walking up to her "There's nothing around here for miles. If you

think your getting out of this house your tragically wrong understand?" Rose said to Elena

  "Who's Elijah?" Elena asked. "He's your worst nightmare." Rose says as she goes and walks away leaving Elena standing by herself in her own thoughts.

"I can't undo what the tomb spell. Stefan. Evan if I wanted to. It took both me and my grans to do it the first time." Bonnie tell Stefan

"Alright, but I can open the door. through. right I can talk to her?" Stefan asked

Bonnie "yeah but Damon's right. She's not gonna tell you anything. Not without something in return." Bonnie tells Stefan "I know but Bonnie, I have to do

something.I have no idea who has Elena. I have no idea where she is." Stefan tells Bonnie with a worried

look on his face "What if there was another way to find her?" Bonnie suggests to Stefan as Stefan nods his head yes agreeing to Bonnie finding Elena another way.

"How does this work?" Jermey asked Bonnie in the classroom "I'll use your blood to draw the energy for the tracking spell." Bonnie says "Your blood-related. it'll make the connection stronger." Bonnie says to Jermey just as Stefan came in the classroom "Alright,

Alaric said we gotta clear out of here within 10 minutes." Stefan says walking further into the classroom "I got weapons. He stocked me up." "You ready ?" Bonnie asked Jermey "Are you ready?"

Jermey says back to Bonnie as Bonnie cut's Jermey palms drawing blood Jermey gaps in pain Jermey goes and squeeze his fist as the blood drops on the map as Bonnie closed her eyes and starts chanting as the blood on the map connects and moves towards where Elena is as Bonnie opens her eyes and says  "There"

"She's there" Bonnie says to Stefan "That's 300 miles away." Jermey says looking at Bonnie then looking back at the map "No, Bonnie , we need a more exact location than that." Stefan says to Bonnie "That's as close as I can get." Bonnie says "We can map it. Aerial view." Jermey says "It'll show us what's around there" Jermey says

"Help us narrow down the area." Jermey continues to say "Perfect. Calm me with whatever you find." Stefan says to Jermey walking towards the door "No, no I'm coming with you." Jermey argues

"No, Jermey. your not." Stefan says to Jermey "No, I'm not gonna sit here. What if she's hurt. Okay?" Jermey argues with Stefan as blood drips from Bonnie nose "Or worse, what if she's" Jermey goes to says but Stefan cuts him off "She's not. You two go back to your house. Just in case. Im gonna call you the minute I find her." Stefan says

"Well. You can't do this alone."

Jermey says to Stefan just as Damon opens the school classroom door

"He's not. Let's go." Damon says "Your coming with me?" Stefan asked Damon confused by him showing up "It's Elena." Damon says with a serious look on his face and walks out of the room.

"Why am I here?" Elena asked as rose turned on the lamp in the room "Keep asking me these questions like im gonna answer them." Rose walking across the room

"Why won't you?" Elena asked rose again "That's another one." Rose says "You got me, okay? It's not like I can go anywhere." Elena says walking towards

rose "The least you can do is tell me what you want with me." Elena asked rose "I personally want nothing. I'm just a delivery service." Rose says

"Delivery to who? Elijah?" Elena asked "Uh, heh. Two points to the eavesdropper."Rose says and chuckled "Who is he? Is he a vampire?" Elena asked walking more further into

the room "He's one of the vampire The Originals." Rose says "What do you mean the Originals?" Elena asked confused "Again with the questions, haven't the Salvatore's been teaching about vampire history?" Rose says flipping through pages "So you know Stefan and Damon?" Elena asked "I know of them." Rose says

"A hundred years back, a friend of mine tried to see me up with Stefan. She said he was one of the good ones." Rose says "More of a sucker for the bad boys though. But I did disgress." Rose says "Who are the Originals?" Elena asked again rose turned around facing Elena

"Trevor and I have been running for 500 years we're tired. We want it over." Rose says "we're using you to negotiate ourselves out of an old mess." Rose says

"Buy why me?" Elena ask walking towards rose

"Because you're a Petrova doppelganger." Rose says then continue and says "You're the key to breaking the curse." Rose says to Elena

"Curse?" Elena asked confused "The sun and the moon curse ?" Elena asked

"Oh. you do know your history." Rose says rolling her eyes looking at Elena

"What do you mean I'm the key?" Elena asked rose walking more close to rose "The moonstone is what breaks the curse." Elena tell rose

"No. The moonstone is what binds the curse." Rose says "Sacrifice is what breaks it." Rose explains to Elena or more like corrects her

"Sacrifice?" Elena asked confused

"The blood of the doppelganger. You're the doppelganger." Rose tell Elena "Which means in order to break the curse you're the that has to die." Rose says

"Tell me more." Elena asked rose as Trevor walks into the room

"Captivity's made her pushy. eh?" As Trevor grabs a wood board as Trevor says "What do you wanna know doppelicious?" Trevor says putting the wood board on the window

"Who are you running from?" Elena demands

"The Originals." Trevor says

"Yeah, she said that. What does that mean?" Elena asked Trevor

"The first Family." Trevor says kicking the books on the floor "The old world." Trevor continues "Rose and I pissed them off"

"Mm-mm" rose says looking Trevor

"Correction, I pissed them off. Rose had my back. And for over half a millennium they wanted us dead." Trevor says

"What did you do?" Elena ask

"He made the same mistakes countless others did. He trusted Katrina Petrova." Rose says

"Kathrine." Elena says

"Mm. The one and only." Rose says "The first Petrova doppelganger" Rose say walking away

"I helped her escape her fate and. now. I've....Sorry, we've been marked ever since." Trevor says

"Which is why we're not gonna make the same mistake again." Rose says as they both walked away leaving Elena in the room by herself as she goes and sat back down on the couch and hears a crunch to see a paper with writing on it Elena picks it up

Stefan and Damon are coming for you.—B

"He's here. This was a mistake." Trevor says quickly

"No, I told you I would get us out of this. You have to trust me." Rose says "No!" Trevor yells "He wants me dead, Rose." Trevor says

"Oh. he wants her more." Rose says pointing at Elena

"Huh! I can't do this." Trevor says "You give her to him, he'll have mercy on you." Trevor says "But I need to get out of here." Trevor tells rose

"Hey. What are we?" Rose asks Trevor as he inhales and exhale "We're family. Forever " Trevor says

Pounding can be heard on the door

"You're scared." Elena says to them

"Stay here with her. And don't make a sound." Rose says to Trevor as she runs towards the door

The door is opened by The One and only Elijah Mikaelson , Elijah is here finally daddy Elijah 😂

Rose walks down the stairs to see Elijah Mikaelson

"Rose-Marie." Elijah says "Is there somewhere we can talk?" Elijah asks

"Yes, In here You have to forgive the house" Rose says

"Oh, no What's a little dirt?" Elijah asks smiling " I completely understand." Elijah says closing the door walking further into the house "So tell me, what is it that gives you the courage to call me?" Elijah asks Rose

"I wanted my freedom. I'm tired of running." Rose tell Elijah "Are you in a position to grant me that?" Rose asks

"I have complete authority to grant pardon to you and your little pet." Elijah says "What is his name these days?" Elijah asks in fake confusion "Trevor. If I so see fit." Elijah says not looking at rose

"Katerina Petrova." Rose says  as Elijah turns around looking at her

"I'm listening." Elijah says 

"She didn't burn in the church in 1864." Rose says  as Elijah sat down on the chair looking up at Rose

"Continue." Elijah says  "She survived." Rose says

"Where is she ?" Elijah ask "You don't seem surprised by this." Rose says "Oh, when you called and invited me into this armpit of civilization which is a mere three hours from the town we know as Mystic Falls I surmised it had everything to do with Katerina." Elijah says

"Do you have her in your possession?" Elijah asked

"No. But I have better." Rose says "I have her doppelganger" Rose says to Elijah "That's impossible. Her family line ended with her. I know that for a fact." Elijah tell rose

"Then the facts are wrong." Rose says "Well. show her to me." Elijah says  "Elijah. you're a man of honor you're to be trusted, but I wanna hear you say it again." Rose asks

"You have my word that I will pardon you." Elijah says starting rose in the eye

"Follow me" Rose says  as Elijah gets up and follows Rose

Elijah speeds in front of Elena  as Elena breathes heavily Elijah then lean down towards Elena neck and sniffs her before looking back up

"Human. It's impossible." Elijah says  "Hello there." Elijah says to Elena

"Uh, we have a long journey ahead of us. We should be going." Elijah says

"Please, don't let him take me." Elena pleads "One last piece of business Then we're done." Elijah says staring at elena before walking away

"I've waited so long for this day, Elijah Truly very sorry." Trevor says as Elijah walks toward Him

"Well, no, your apology is not necessary." Elijah says

"Yes. Yes. it is." Trevor says not looking at Elijah at all

"You trusted me with Katerina. And I failed you." Trevor says as Elijah is walking back and forth

"Well, yes , you are the guilty one." Elijah says and continues to say "And Rose aided you because she was loyal to you. That I honor." Elijah says as he walks and stands in front of Trevor "Where was your loyalty?" Elijah asks Trevor "I beg your forgiveness." Trevor says

"So granted." Elijah says then slaps Trevor head off as his body fell to the floor causing Rose to scream Elena looks at Trevor dead body as she covers her mouth

"YOU!" Rose says crying

"Don't. Rose" Elijah says "Now that you're free." Elijah says facing rose as Rose continues to cry Elijah then turns to Elena holding his hand out towards her.

"Come." Elijah says

"No, what about the moonstone?" Elena asked Elijah scared "What do you know about the moonstone?" Elijah ask

"I know that you need it And-and I know where it is" Elena says

"Yes?" Elijah says "I can help you get it" Elena tells Elijah "Tell me where it is." Elijah says demands

"It doesn't work that way." Elena says "Are you negotiating with me?" Elijah sighs then turn to rose

"It's the first I've heard of it." Rose says

"What is this vervain doing around your neck?" Elijah rips the necklace off Elena's neck throwing it on the floor he grips the side of Elena's head and compels her.

"Tell me where the moonstone is." Elijah says compelling Elena "In the tomb underneath the church ruins" Elena says in a monotone voice "What is it doing there?" Elijah ask

"It's with Kathrine." Elena says

"Interesting." Elijah says as he hears glass smashing

"What is that?" Elijah ask

"I don't know." Rose replies

"Who else is in this house?" Elijah asks again

"I don't know." Rose replied as Elijah grips Elena arms tightly walking towards the stairs "Move." Elijah says

As they walk in the front door someone speed by Elijah then push Elena towards rose then looks around

"Rose?" Elijah ask rose "I don't know who it is" Rose responded

"Up here" Stefan says as Elijah speed towards the stairs but sees nothing "Down here" Damon says

Elijah turns around again seeing nothing just as the he got shot in the hand with a wooden stake he pulls it out of his hand tossing it on the floor looking around.

"Excuse me." Elijah says as Stefan is telling Elena be quiet holding his finger to his lips

"To whom it may concern." Elijah says "You're makin a grave mistake if you think you can beat me." Elijah says smiling as he spread his arms wide open "You can't. You hear that?" Elijah tell them as Damon is with rose covering her mouth

"I repeat. You cannot beat me." Elijah says grabbing the coat handing "So I want the girl. on the count of three." Elijah says ripping the hooks of the coat hanger

"Or heads will roll." Elijah says "Do we understand each other?" Elijah says "I'll come with you." Elena says walking out standing at the top of the stairs

"Just please don't hurt my friends.They just wanted to help me out." Elena says as Elijah turns around speeding towards her she gasped.

"What game are you playing with me?" Elijah ask as Elena grabs the vervain grenade rips the pin (I don't know what it's called) and throws it in his face and ducks down as Elijah turns away and screams as he lifts his head and growls at Elena as his face heals quickly he walks up the stairs towards her as Stefan

Shot's Elijah in the chest with a wooden stake but it doesn't seem to be working Stefan tackles Elijah down on the stairs as Elijah gets up quickly looking down at Stefan Elijah walk towards Stefan just as Damon sticks the coat hanging into Elijah chest up against the wall as his body gets temporally desiccated rose then looks

At Elijah desiccated body then runs away Damon went to go after her "Just let her go." Elena says as she runs towards Stefan "Hey, come here. You hurt you okay? Stefan ask Elena as he hugs her back as Damon is looking at them in jealousy then Elena mouthing to Damon 'thank you' as Damon responds mouthing to her back saying 'your welcome' as he continues to look at them hugging each other as the screen goes black.

"Elena?" Jermey ask as Bonnie wakes up Jermey runs out of the room with Bonnie behind him as Elena is walking up the stairs towards the room

"Oh, my God." Bonnie says as she hugs Elena , Elena then smile and hugs her back "You okay?" Jermey ask Elena as she continues to hug Bonnie "I'm okay." Elena responds smiles softly at Jermey "I'm okay." Elena says

As Bonnie pulls away from the hug "I got your message." Elena says as Bonnie cries and hugs Elena again for a minute then pulls away as Jermey hugs Elena for a minute.

Damon is drinking his bourbon "Where's Elena?" Damon ask Stefan "She's home." Stefan responded to Damon "And you're here why?" Damon ask Stefan

"Cause she wanted to be with Jermey." Stefan replied as Damon handed him a drink "Thanks" Stefan says

"Listen, uh, what Rose told Elena about the curse..." Stefan goes to say but trails off "I know. We'll keep her safe." Damon says "You know. the only way we're gonna be able to do that is if we're not fighting each other." Stefan says to Damon staring at him.

"We let Katherine come between us. We let that happen with Elena. we're not gonna be able to protect her." Stefan tells Damon.

"Yes. Stefan. Heard it all before." Damon says as drunk the rest of his drink walking away "Hey." Stefan calls out to damon "What?" Damon says turning around.

"I'm sorry." Stefan says "About what?" Damon asks rolling his eyes "For being the guy who made you turn 145 years ago." Stefan says "Enough, Stef. It's late No need to rehash that." Damon says turning away.

"Well, you know what? I've never said that it out loud." Stefan says as he continues to say "I guess I just need to say it and you need to hear it." Stefan says "I'm sorry." Stefan says to Damon again "What I did was selfish." Stefan tells Damon "I didn't wanna be alone."

Stefan tells Damon as Damon stands there and listens

"Guess I just needed my brother." Stefan said to Damon as he looks at Damon then nods his head and walks away as Damon just stands there alone

Stefan's walks in the room as he grabs the tow cups of drinks as someone speed by him Stefan speeds and grabs a wooden stakes "Who's there?" Stefan's calls out to the person just as Rose walks out "I'm not here to hurt you." Rose says "Why are you here?" Stefan ask still holding the wooden stake in his hand.

"Lexi once told me that you're of the good ones." Rose tell Stefan "You knew Lexi." Stefan says.

"Trevor was my best friend." Rose tell Stefan walking more further into the living room "For 509 years, i have lived with one person. And he's gone." Rose says to Stefan as he looks down "And I don't wanna run anymore because I don't have anywhere else to run to." Rose explains to Stefan "Well, I'm sorry but I can't help you." Stefan says to rose "I don't need your help." Rose tell Stefan "But I think you need mine." Rose said to Stefan "Elijah may be dead, but this isn't over." Rose says to Stefan "What do you mean it's not over?" Stefan ask rose "It isn't over." Rose said to Stefan "The Originals they'll come for her." Rose says to Stefan

"They have to. They're doing it for her." Rose says

"For who?" Stefan ask confused

"Klaus." Rose says

Elena walks out the bathroom seeing Damon sitting by the window "Cute pj's." Damon says as Elena

"I'm tired. Damon." Elena says to Damon as he gets up and walk towards her as he hood up her necklace (Rebekah's Necklaces but okay)

"I thought that was gone." Elena says "Thank you." Elena say's smiling as she goes and reach for it as Damon pulls away "Please give it back." Elena says

"I just have to say something." Damon says

"Why do you have to say it with my necklace?" Elena says (again it's Rebekah's)

"Well, because what I'm about to say is probably the most selfish thing I've ever said in my life." Damon said "Damon. don't go there," Elena says "No. I just have to say it once." Damon said walking close to Elena

"You just need to hear it." Damon says "I love you. Elena" Damon says (And there it is his confession)

"And it's because I love you that. I can't be selfish with you."

"And why you can't know this. I don't deserve you."

"But my brother does." As Damon kissed her on the forehead

"God, I wish you didn't have to forget this."

"But you do." as Damon stared into Elena eyes as Damon speed away before she opened her eyes Elena closed her eyes then open them seeing no one there but herself with the window open as she looks around then says on the edge of her bed.

Elijah wakes up and had a glare on his face as his skin turns back to the original color as he pulls the coat hanger from his chest dropping it on the floor.

Woods

A man and a woman are camping in the forest. Fog descends around the tent.

"Hey. Did you hear that?" The woman asked

"Hear what?" The man asked

"I heard thunder." The woman said

"Are you sure? Because if it rains, then we won't be able to see the comet." The woman said

"It's not gonna rain. Listen, I...got you a little something. It's back in the car. Don't you move." The man said

A dripping noise pounds on the tent after the man leaves. The woman smiles triumphantly.

"I knew it! I told you it was gonna rain!" The woman said

She sees her boyfriend up in a tree. His blood dripping on the tent. She runs to the car.

"Open! No! Please!" The woman yelled

The car beeps as the doors unlock. The woman looks around nervously. Someone drops from the trees and kills her.

Elena goes out of her room.

"Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental?" Jenna asked

"Depends on where you're going." Elena said

"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference. Hair up or down?" Jenna asked

Jenna puts her hair up.

"Sexy stewardess." Elena said

Jenna lets it down.

"Boozy housewife." Elena said

"Up it is. You're feisty today." Jenna said

"I feel good, which is rare. So I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk on the sunshine, and all that stuff. Where is Jeremy?" Elena told her

"He left early. Something about getting to wood shop early to finish a birdhouse." Jenna said

"There is no wood shop, is there?" Jenna asked

"No." Elena told her

"Yeah." Jenna said

Jeremy stands outside Vicki's room.

"You can't be in here, hon. Visiting hours don't start till 9:00." The Nurse says

"I just...how is she?" Jeremy asked

"She's lost a lot of blood." The Nurse said

"Yeah, but she's gonna be OK, right?" Jeremy asked

"She needs her rest. So you come back later. Come on." The Nurse told him

Mystic Falls High School

In history class, Elena and Stefanie look at each other while their teacher lectures.

"Originally discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration. Are we bothering you, Ms. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?" Tanner said

Elena and Stefanie drop their gazes. The bell rings.

In the hallway.

"I brought it. Told you." Stefanie says and hands Elena a book

"Yeah, well, feel free to conjure up the name and number of that guy from last night." Caroline said

"I didn't see him, you did. Why didn't you just talk to him?" Bonnie asked

"I don't know. I was drunk." Caroline told her

Ouside, Jeremy walks up to Tyler.

"Hey, Tyler. Hey, I'm sorry to interrupt. I was just wondering how Vicki's doing, since you guys are so close. Is she ok?" Jeremy asked

"She's fine. Now get out of here." Tyler said

"How bad is she? Do they know what attacked her? Is she going to make a full recovery? Was she happy to see you? What room number was she in?" Jeremy asked

"I'm gonna kick your ass." Tyler told him

Jeremy shoves Tyler.

Matt and Elena talk about Vicki.

"They're keeping her overnight to make sure there's no infection, but she should be able to come home tomorrow." Matt said

"Did you get in touch with your mom?" Elena asked

"Called and left a message. She's in Virginia Beach with her boyfriend, so...we'll see how long it takes her to come rushing home." Matt said

"Vicki's lucky that she's ok." Elena said

Stefanie is sitting on a table revealing that she has been listening to their entire conversation.

"I know, and now there's talk of some missing campers." Matt said

"Did she say what kind of animal it was that attacked her?" Elena asked

"She said it was a vampire." Matt told her

"What?" Elena asked

"Yeah, she wakes up last night and mutters "vampire" and then passes out." Matt said

"OK, that is weird." Elena said

"I think she was drunk. So what's up with you and the new girl? i didn't know you liked girls" Matt asked

"Matt, the last thing that I want to do is hurt you and I like guys too I just happen to be drawn to her" Elena said

"You know, I'm...I'm actually gonna go back to the hospital. I want to be there when Vicki wakes up, get the real story about last night." Matt said

Stefanie disappears.

Jenna talks to Mr. Tanner in the history classroom.

"As Jeremy's teacher, I'm concerned. All right? It's the third day of school and he's skipped six of his classes." Tanner said

"Mr. Tanner, are you aware that Jeremy and Elena's parents died?" Jenna asked

"Four months ago, a great loss. Car accident. Wickery bridge, if I remember correctly. And you're related to the family how? The, uh, mother's kid sister?" Tanner said

"Younger sister." Jenna said

"Right." Tanner says

"Yes. Six classes? Are you sure? I mean, that's kind of hard to do." Jenna said

"Not when you're on drugs. It's his attempt at coping, Ms. Sommers. And the signs are there. He's moody, withdrawn, argumentative, hungover. Are there any other relatives in the picture?" Tanner asked

"I'm their sole guardian." Jenna told him

"Uh-huh. Could there be?" Tanner said

"What are you suggesting, exactly?" Jenna asked him

"It's an impossible job, isn't it, raising two teens?" Tanner questioned her

"It's been tough, but, no, it's not." Jenna said

"Wrong answer. It is an extremely impossible job, and anything less and you're not doing it properly." Tanner said

Hospital

Matt is waiting with Vicki. She wakes up.

"Whoa! Vick. Vicki, hey. Vick, it's Matt. Hey, what's wrong?" Matt asked

"No! No! Get off! No! No! No!" Vicki said

"Nurse!" Matt yelled

Matt goes to look for a doctor. Stefan enters the hospital room and compels her.

"It was an animal that attacked you. It came out of the night and jumped you. You blacked out. It's all you remember." Stefanie said

"It's all I remember." Vicki said

"An animal attacked you. You blacked out. It's all you remember." Stefanie said

"It's all I remember." Vicki said

"Nurse! I need help! It's my sister." Matt said

"She seems fine." The Nurse said

Vicki is back in bed. Matt sees Stefan leaving. He follows Stefan. Stefan enters a room with blood donors and blood bags. His face starts to change, but he leaves as quickly as possible. Matt enters the same room. He looks for Stefan but does not find him.

Mystic Grill

"Well, I was talking to Grams, and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity." Bonnie said

Caroline: "Yeah, and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens. So then what" Caroline said

"So then nothing." Elena said rolling her eyes

"You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy feely of any kind?" Caroline asked

"Nope. We didn't go there." Elena said as she sighed

"Not even a handshake? I mean, Elena, we are your friends. Ok? You are supposed to share the smut." Caroline said

"We just talked for hours." Elena told her

"OK, what is with the blockage? Just jump her bones already! Ok, it's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex!" Caroline said

"Profound." Elena said

Elena gets up.

"Where are you going?" Bonnie asks

"Caroline's right. It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying what I was going to do." Elena said

Gilbert Residence

"I picked up dinner. Tacos. I had an urge for guacamole." Jenna said

"No, I'm good, thanks." Jeremy said

"Eat anyway. It's a ruse. I want to talk." Jenna said

Jeremy starts to leave.

"Hey, you! Come. Sit. Back in school, freshman year, I could eat my weight in nachos, with extra cheese. It was my munchie food whenever I got stoned." Jenna said as Jeremy sits down

"You get high?" Jeremy asked

"Did. Past tense. But, yeah. Loved it. Anything to get a little distraction from life...reality. And it worked. For a while. Never lasts, though. Hey, I'm not saying I wouldn't love to rail back and kick it, but with a thesis looming and a waistline expanding..." Jenna said

Jeremy gets up and leaves when Jenna isn't looking. Jenna notices and she sighs.

Hospital

Matt is sleeping on a chair. Vicki wakes up. She throws a gelatin container at Matt. Matt stirs.

"What the..." Matt says

"Finally you're awake." Vicki said

"Hey. How are you feeling? You look better. I was worried before. You really had me freaked out with all that screaming." Matt told her

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Vicki asked

"You don't remember?" Matt said

"I feel fine." Vicki said

"Good, good. Doctor said you could come home tomorrow. Vick, what attacked you in the woods?" Matt said

Vicki hesitates.

"An animal. What else could it have been?" Vicki says

Jeremy arrives.

"Hey. How do you feel?" Jeremy asks

"I'm OK." Vicki says

"I...I'm gonna...I'm gonna go grab a coffee. Hey, Jer." Matt said

"Why are you here?" Vicki asked

"I just wanted to see how you were doing." Jeremy said

"Did you see that look on Matt's face? That was suspicion. I don't want people to find out about us, Jeremy." Vicki

"Well, you gotta get over that." Jeremy said

"Tyler is finally showing some interest." Vicki said

"You have to get over that, too. Do you see Mr. Concerned? Tyler? Are you under there? No." Jeremy says sarcastically

"It's not cool for people to know. Ok? I'm older than you, and Matt and Elena would freak." Vicki said

"No one's going to suspect anything. Why wouldn't I check on you? I mean, I'm the one who found you." Jeremy said

Elena goes to the front door and knocks, it opens and she enters.

A crow flies into the house. Elena turns around and Damon is standing there.

"You must be Elena. I'm Damon, Stefanie's brother." Damon said

"She didn't tell me she had a brother." Elena said

"Well, Stefanie's not one to brag. Please, come. I'm sure Stefanie will be along any second." Damon says

"Wow. This is your living room?" Elena ask mesmerized

"Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a little kitschy for my taste. I see why my sister's so smitten. It's about time. For a while there, I never thought she'd get over the last one. Nearly destroyed her." Damon said

"The last one?" Elena asked scrunching up her eyebrows in confusion

"Yeah. Katherine, her girlfriend? Oh, you two haven't had the awkward exes conversation yet." Damon asked

"Nope." Elena said

"Oops. Well, I'm sure it'll come up now. Or maybe she didn't want to tell you because she didn't want you to think she was on the rebound. We all know how those relationships end." Damon said

Vicki wakes up. She looks at Matt and sees him sleeping in a chair. She goes into the bathroom to wash her hands, when she looks into the mirror she sees a glimpse of Damon.

"Matt. Mattie?" Vicki asked

Matt turns into Damon with his vampire face. She wakes up from the nightmare.

Elena and Bonnie are handing out pamphlets.

"Tonight, night of the comet! Would you like a program?" Bonnie asked

She turns to Elena.

"Would you like a program? She didn't call, huh?" Bonnie asked

"Or text. But I realized we never even exchanged that stuff. We've never gotten to the texting part." Elena said

"That's an important milestone in any relationship." Bonnie said

"Isn't it? The timing is wrong, anyway." Elena said

"When is it ever right?" Bonnie asked

"I'm not ready, Bonnie." Elena told her

"Who is?" Bonnie asked

"At least I put myself out there." Elena said

"Is that what you're calling it?" Bonnie asked her looking at her

"What do you mean?" Elena asked confused

"All I'm hearing is reasons why you can't." Bonnie said shrugging her shoulders

Caroline sees Damon and approaches him. When she gets closer, he's gone.

"What is Damon doing here? Why did he come home?" Zach asked

"'Cause I came home. He wants to make my life miserable. That's how he enjoys his." Stefanie said

"Well, he's putting us all at risk. This girl in the hospital could talk." Zach said

"She won't. I took care of her." Stefanie said

"You're sure?" Zach questioned

"I'm not sure, Zach. I don't know how well it worked. I'm not as strong as Damon." Stefanie said

"So what happens if it doesn't work?" Zach said

"I don't know. I'll deal with it." Stefanie said

"Is she worth it? Aunt Stefanie , this girl you came back for?" Zach asked

Mystic Grill

"Vicki, what are you doing here?" Jeremy asked

"Fighting with Robert about my schedule. You'd think getting ripped up by a rabid animal would merit an extra sick day." Vicki said

"Are you feeling ok?" Jeremy asked

"I hurt." Vicki said

"Well, the doctor gave you something, right?" Jeremy asked

"The kid stuff. Nothing with an "o" in it. I think they were on to me." Vicki said

They laugh. Jeremy gives her pills.

"Here. Knock yourself out, literally." Jeremy says

"Thanks, Jer." Vicki says

"So you gonna, uh, watch the comet later?" Jeremy asked

"I hadn't really thought about it. But I could be talked into it. I'll meet you out there in a few." Vick said

Tyler approaches them.

"Hey, Vick. How you feeling?" Tyler asks her

"Like you care." Vicki says

Vicki leaves. Tyler catches Jeremy looking at him in a mocking manner.

"What are you lookin' at, Gilbert?" Tyler asks

"Hey, I got some candles." Caroline said

"Hi. Hey." Elena said

Matt lights Elena's candle.

"Thank you." Elena told him

"You know, that comet...it's been traveling across space for thousands of years. All alone." Stefanie says

"Yeah, Bonnie says it's a harbinger of evil." Elena said

"I think it's just a ball of...snow and ice, trapped

on a path that it can't escape. And once every 145 years, it gets to come home. I'm sorry about yesterday. I wasn't myself." Stefanie said

"You seem to spend a lot of time apologizing." Elena said

"Well, I have a lot to apologize for. Yesterday, that wasn't about you, ok?" Stefanie asked Elena

"Elena! Back in the car." Bonnie says smiling Elena  as Elena  turn around facing her

"I did it again, didn't I? I-I'm sorry, Bonnie" Elena says

"You were telling me that" Elena goes to say before Bonnie cuts her off

"-That I'm psychic now."Bonnie says

"Right. Okay. Then predict something. About me."

"I see" Bonnie trails off when suddenly a bird hit the front of the car, making Bonnie swerve to the side

As a black crow lands on one of the grave stones and squawks

"Okay. Hi. bird." Elena says to the crow

"That's not creepy or anything" Elena says writing in her diary as fog starts to appear Elena then looks around confused as Elena gets up and walks towards the crow

"Shoo!" Elena says to the crow as the crow flys away

"That's what I thought" Elena said to herself  as she turns around the crow caws at her as Elena jumps back

Elena slowly reaches down and picks her bag up and runs away as the crow fly off Elena walks out of the cemetery looking over her shoulder before continuing to walk away as a person is standing next to one the grave stones watching her leave.

Elena then turns around seeing someone there as she runs off into the woods she falls on her leg before getting back up she turns around to see the new girl standing there.

"You okay?" The girl asked her

"Were you following me?" Elena asked her

"No. I, I uh, I just..I saw you fall." She said

"Uh-huh, and you just happened to be hanging out in a cemetery." Elena says chuckling nervously

"Oh, uh..I don't know." Elena say as puts her foot on the rock rolling up her pants leg showing that she indeed hurt herself.
